My cousin ordered the same, but with maple aioli--and wow! I'm definitely going to have to try to make maple aioli at home. I appreciated the creativity yet approachability of the dishes. Rusted Root is the perfect type of spot to go when you want a good burger or sandwich that's more inventive than the average casual spot. Not only did it keep us warm, it made our table feel cozy. Despite it being very busy, I'd describe the restaurant as being a great place for a special date. Our waiter for the evening brought great energy. His timing was great and his knowledge of the food served was helpful. Without hesitation he suggested the Napolitana (which was phenomenal). He also made the restaurant less pretentious than I had assumed it would be and it definitely wasn't pretentious). We ordered the empanadas and beet salad as appetizers. Great picks and I'd return just to get the empanadas! As previously stated, I had the Napolitana. My dining partner has the quinoa bowl but added chicken to it. No complaints for either. The atmosphere, service and food are what you'd expect to receive in a large city for three times the price, and I have no doubt the FVTC students have exciting careers ahead of them. While it can be difficult to get a table, I recommend giving it a try. This is a one-of-a-kind unique dining experience right here in the Fox Cities!
