Walter was a great tour guide. My husband and I had a blast as we segwayed around the city. Walter pointed out a lot of art and history and ghost stories that we did not know being first-time guests to Greenville. 10/10 recommend!

My wife and I had a very, very good experience riding Segways with Glide in Greenville. This was her first time on a Segway. This was my sixth time riding them. And, she did GREAT! This was a super way to get acquainted with Greenville; we had never been there before. And, Walter was the key to the success of the activity. He is so knowledgeable about the city and much of his focus is on keeping you safe while you "glide" around. The training up front was good; he wants you to feel comfortable and safe while on the Segways. He also will ask you what you want to see the most: History, Restaurants, Art/Architecture, or Ghost Stories. The top two win and his will design your time mostly on those two but does not leave out the others (unless you want him to - we did not want to focus on Ghost Stories). Of the six times that I have been on Segway tours in different cities, this was the best and it was all due to Walter. I think that the owners should give Walter stock in the company - he represents you well. GOOD JOB WALTER!!

This is so much fun!!! Every time we are in Greenville we never miss heading over to Greenville Glides. The seaway tours are the highlight of our trip. It's so easy even for a clumsy person like me. We can't say enough good things about this tour. My wife and I had so much fun. Walter, the tour guide, was incredibly patient training us (yes it takes a minute to get the hang of it but then it feels like second nature). Walter then asks what you want to learn and guides you through the city showcasing all the wonderful things Greenville has to offer as well as so many historical aspects around town. He is a local and you can tell he loves to tell you all about his town. We highly recommend this tour. read more

Two of us live in the area, so we brought an out of state friend to hear more about the city we love. Walter did a great job of showing off points of interest, restaurants (we had great pizza from his recommendation) and ghost stories. We had a great time touring. His instruction was also helpful for our guest who had not been on a Segway before. read more

Marshall did a great job of training me on the Segway and keeping an eye on me to be sure I could handle it. He also tailored the tour to add in some locations that particularly interested me. He was a great guide and I really appreciate all he did. Although I've been on Segways before and feel comfortable on them, it really helps to have an excellent sense of balance. Otherwise it could be nerve racking as you're going through downtown and there are lots of twists and turns, crossing streets and uphills and downhills. I highly recommend this tour. It made me fall in love with Greenville even more than I already have! read more

Segways through Greenville are so much fun! Actually one of our favorite things to do. They aren't hard to ride and provide a way of seeing so much more of the town than walking. This is a great tour to do whether you're a local or visiting Greenville. My out of town guest and I had a wonderful time, exploring the local parks and learning about the city. Walter was a patient, kind, and attentive guide who gave us plenty of instruction on the Segway; and had a lot of great info about the town. I will bring all my out of town visitors to this tour again. It's so much more fun than walking because you can see so much more in less time, and don't be afraid of the Segway. It really is like riding a bike, but a lot more fun read more

I always look for Segway tours when I travel to different cities and I really loved this tour of Greenville (I did the West End & Falls Park Tour). Tour guide Walter was terrific helping folks get safely acclimated to Segways (the safety video is a bit intimidating but they are really intuitive once you've been on for a couple of minutes!) and checking to see what we were most interested in (history and the many examples of public art in Greenville for our tour). We were able to see downtown, get an overview of Falls Park on the Reedy (we would have spent more time there but other folks on my tour had already been there) and even head out to Unity Park (with the extra time we had--we did spend enough time to get a great sense of Falls Park). I LOVE riding Segways anywhere and everywhere but this was the first tour where we traveled through so much gorgeous scenery (and greenery!)! It's a wonderful way to get an overview without too much walking--I then revisited some of our path on foot. Highly recommend! read more

Super Segway experience. Our guide, Walter, did an awesome job of exposing us to downtown Greenville. Covered about 13 miles and learned tons regarding the city's history, culinary hot spots while visiting beautiful green spaces and river vistas. Walter emphasized Segway safety and proper technique. Totally a relaxing way to get up-close & personal to gain a perspective on this captivating city. Highly recommend this experience. read more

Four of us signed up to take tour. 15 minutes in a girl fell off Segway and broke her arm. we left to take her to emergency room. All we want is our money back for the tour we never got. company won't return phone call so now we're getting our lawyer. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY. We will never use them again. read more

Highly recommend the experience! Friends came to town from Cincinnati and we took the 1.5 hour Historic West End and Falls Park Segway tour. After a quick safety vid and initial training we were off down Main Street. What a blast, tour host was funny and knowledgeable about sights along the tour. So don't be intimidated, it's actually quite easy to get the hang of maneuvering these machines... you'll be gliding around Greenville like you've owned one for years in no time. read more

If you ever get the opportunity to do this, you Should TOTALLY do this here. This was LOTS of fun and very informative tour of Greenville, as well as Flour Field and surroundings with history. ATHENA is an AWESOME tour guide and makes everyone feel at ease when learning or being apprehensive about riding a SEGWAY. As the tour went on everyone became more comfortable with it as ATHENA had a natural way of calming the fears. I am definitely going to do this again! THUMBS WAY UP!! read more

It was a fun tour and cool city. I try and do Segway in every city I visit. They were a little disorganized and tried to reschedule and cancel me that day but it all worked out. Large group of 10 people on busy downtown streets on a Saturday night. All went well and we had a really nice time. Good price too. Very satisfied. read more

It was our first trip to Greenville and what a great way to check out the city! We had never been on segways before so Walter made sure we felt completely comfortable before we headed out on our tour. It didn't take long to get the hang of the segways and we were off. This was the most fun thing I did in years. We were all a little nervous. We were given clear instructions and went on our way in a few short minutes. I would recommend this tour to anyone young or old. Brother Mark from Fenton, Michigan and Husband, Mark were nervous at first, but quickly learned the techniques of Segway. We had to cut our trip to Roanoke short, so decided to spend a night in Greenville. Booked an evening Segway tour with Walter and had a terrific time! Not quite the same scenery as my first Segway experience in Rome, but Greenville really is charming, vibrant and pedestrian-friendly!!! Our 12-year-old, Jacob, had an absolute blast! And our guide really delivered the perfect combination of historical fact, dining/shopping advice and pure fun!!! We would do it over again!!! read more

Terrible, we are from Winston Salem NC. We have a segway tour there that we have used several times(very informative and enjoyable). So we went in with expectations of a professional tour. Our guide (Matt) was very immature and was making fun if someone that fell off of segway. The tour was 2 hours and we stopped twice to learn about the city. What did we pay for??? Then came the cemetery. We got there and his exact words were....."we are allowed to ride here so let's see how fast we can get"..... Not appropriate at all. Then he asked me if I wanted to drag race in the cemetery. I can't think of a worse place to do that, he also was making fun if names on tombstones. Do not waste your money here. read more

As I wanted to get out of the city and see the surrounding area, I opted to go with their 5-hour Carolina Countryside tour, which is a culinary tour offered once a week. The tour includes several stops including the historic Pointsett Bridge, the base of Table Rock Mountain, a tea farm, and 2 food stops at the Cherokee Country Club and Aunt Sue's Country Corner. The first stop was at Core 450 restaurant at Cherokee Valley Country Club. We were able to sample some absolutely delicious food with beautiful views of the golf course. Their French toast was some of the best I've ever had, and chicken items were also of very high quality. The second main stop was a tea farm at Table Rock Tea Company. The owner was super enthusiastic in showing us around the tea farm, but the tour did seem to drag on for those that weren't overly interested in the tea process. The sweet tea samples were refreshing on a very hot and sunny day. The final stop was a buffet style meal at Aunt Sue's Country Corner. Personally, I thought the food quality here was pretty poor and much preferred the food at our first stop. I know this was a food tour, but felt it could have done without the final stop, and could have been more balanced if it explored the mountain or lakes of the area more, with just the country club food stop and perhaps stops for coffee/baked goods and/or ice cream along the way. Overall, this tour was a great introduction to the area, and the food tour parts of it definitely filled guests up. I would suggest that this tour be tweaked to be a nature and countryside tour with less emphasis on food and a bit more exploration. The tour operator/owner, John Nolan was an absolute delight offering great narration and audiovisuals to help us gain a better understanding of the history of the area. I wouldn't hesitate to take another tour with Greenville History Tours, and would recommend their tours to any visiting the Greenville area.

He provided a thorough history of the development of the lake as well as the eco and wildlife. We had kids (Andes 8 and 11) as well as adults on our morning adventure. Jean's bus service was 30 minutes late which put our 3.5 hour bus trip (1 way) 45 minutes late in leaving. The driver of one of the busses, the one I happened to be on, was ALL over the road. He spent most of the trip driving over the grooved part of the lanes (outside the lanes). He was writing in his notebook while driving. Other drivers routinely blew their horns at us because we were swerving in their lane. I did not feel safe at all. There were approx 38 students and 14 adults on each bus. I also would categorize the driver as elderly and not a wise choice for a charter bus. Our students and chaperones paid a lot of money for this bus service for a nerve-racking and unprofessional trip.

Awesome tour in Greenville, SC. Our tour guide was Athena and she was fabulous! This has always been something I have wanted to do since I first saw them on TV. Athena was very informed of Greenville and surrounding areas, & we all learned a lot. She made sure we all knew how to operate the Segway before we left the building. They are not as easy to ride as it looks but it gets better as you go along. We went down hills and up hills. I lost control of mine one time, but guess what? Athena was there to catch me without me falling. The people walking the streets were very polite and would move over when they saw us coming by or toward them. I will go on this tour again and will always ask for Athena to be our guide. If you want something special to do, I recommend the Greenville Glides for a Segway Tour. As Good as It Gets!!! read more

I found Greenville Glide through a "Things to do in Charlotte" website -- where they were listed as Magic Carpet Glide. There was a mistake in the booking and I discovered at 6:00 PM the night before my trip that I had a reservation in Greenville SC (!). I called the booking agency and got no help, then went to the website and found another number. After calling and texting I found Diana who immediately assured me she would fix it, and did. The reservation was transferred to Charlotte, Mikal received us with a smile and it was smooth sailing from there on out. We had a thorough training session and were guided through the 4 Wards with lots of local color and historical information from Tremain. Everyone was courteous and helpful and friendly and we had a great time on the Segway. I recommended them to my friends. read more

We had an amazing time on our tour! Walter, our guide, went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable before venturing out. And then when we did, he made sure he personalized our time with exactly what we asked for. It was a perfect balance of history, fun, exploring and riding. We were so thankful to Walter for showing us such a fun time! We would highly recommend doing this whether it's your first time to the City or you've visited multiple times! I found this Viator Segway Tour on the Eternal Travel Boutique booking page. I loved this tour. Walter was a great tour guide. The first thing he focused on was safety and made sure I knew how to operate the Segway and was comfortable before we left for the tour. Walter was very knowledgeable about Greenville, it's history, interesting tourist points, and fun facts about the town. My husband and I booked a 1.5 hour tour around Greenville on October 16, 2018. Walter was our guide and we had a blast! He was the BEST and totally familiar with the area's history!! We cruised through downtown Greenville, saw the bridge at the River Reedy, and several other landmarks. Walter was a sweetheart and made sure we were comfortable on the Segways before we left. What a fantastic way to experience Greenville. We learned so much about the downtown area and this Segway tour with our guide, John was by far the highlight of our visit. We had never ridden Segways before but John was a great teacher and within a few minutes, we felt completely comfortable on them. As with most things, the tour eventually has to come to an end and you will be reluctant to want to return to old fashioned walking again when it is done. read more
