Went in for diagnosis for moderate pain on a slightly loose molar. I got charged $500 out of pocket just to have them look at the problem. Staff seemed friendly but I was wrongfully overcharged and was taken advantage of for a simple check. I would not recommend this location if you are paying out of pocket and you need a quick check up. I completely got robbed. Fradulent activities with added incompetence. I have waited more than a year to write this review. Knew the dentist and her family at a personal level as neighbhors before taking my whole family there including wife, 4 kids and my mom. That's why I struggled if I should write this review or not. I learned many neighbhors are using her services so decided to make them aware. If she finds a cavity, PLEASE take a second opinion. If she tells you she can do Implants and bone grafting, run away right away. I had stopped seeing her after my implant experience and then something clicked for my wife that she is finding these cavities in her mouth, brushed and flossed twice a day, and in my 4 year olds mouth. Wife took the kids and herself for a second opinion to Costa Smiles before getting drilled the second time for fillings and well enough there were no cavities and this dentist was finding fake cavities to make money, commit fraud and torture our 4 year old for money and drill.into my wife's perfect teeth. My experience of getting an implant from her was a terrible mistake on my part. First going through bone graft her partner was green. I ended up with a serious infection.I called the guy and told him I am getting green watery discharge, he said not to worry just take sudafed. My nose and my mouth were dripping 4 oz of green stuff every 10 minutes. so I called her and demanded an antibiotic because her partner won't give me one. Taking antibiotics fixed the infection. Then once bone grafting was done another Oops moment came where she told me I need to see some orthodontics to create more space as there isn't much space. Adding another $4000 to my budget which could have been told to me early and I should have done that first. The orthodontist actually got tired of dealing with Green Smiles dentist telling me there is nothing but incompetence on the other side. I told the orthodontist that I have committed enough money now and need to finish this project. I was into my 16th month into this ordeal. The implant area got extended. THen came the part for the crown. She could not install the crown. It fell in my mouth every 4-5 days and I was really upset. I told her she needs to find someone else to install my crown and I am not payingg extra. So she asked the same green bone grafting guy. Who did install it and it stuck in my mouth long enough. Then I learned the crown wasn't done right. Took a second opinion and learned the whole crown will need to be redone, because of extra gaps on three sides. Long story short I changed my dentist, redid the crown. I decided to write this review because many neighbors are already seeing her or wanting to see her for her services. one neighbhor told me the dentist found cavities in his wife's mouths and my first reaction was get a second opinion. Got a Groupon for whitening trays. We were in Monday at 2pm and were told it takes a week for the trays to be made and that we could come back after 2 the following Monday. We came from Montgomery County, MD all the way to Ashburn for this and surprise, the trays weren't ready. The receptionist told us we could wait or come back and the doctor would make the trays in between patients. We had other things we had to do so this wasn't a possible option. We asked about shipping them to us and were told its a $20 charge to do this, even though this was their fault. Lovely. We'll have to come back another day to get them :-/ The receptionist here is so incredibly rude. When my sister was getting her trays made I witnessed the receptionist and another customer get into an argument. A loud one. She wound up canceling her Groupon and walking out. Absolutely horrendous customer service. Bad enough that Groupon was willing to credit us $20 for it. I hope the doctor sees this review and realizes that this girls attitude is costing them money. EDIT: After I wrote this the receptionist called us and informed us that it was, in fact, their fault that this happened and shipped us our trays for free...and wouldn't you know it, the postage was like $5. I was freaking out b/c i knew my issue would get worse / infected if I didn't get help. Dr Sundaram and her team could empathize and agreed to see me. Went here for Zoom Whitening coupon purchased online. Everything was pretty good until the end. I had some sensitivity in a couple of my teeth and I told the dentist. She put flouride on ONLY those couple teeth. I thought this was strange but went with it since she is the dentist. Earlier the dental assistant said that I woul get flouride for the sensitivity, guess she didn't say how much... Later when I left there was a lot more sensitivity, and I realized I was right in my thoughts that she should have put the flouride on ALL my teeth. As for the whitening, it was so-so, nothing wow. she used 3 sessions. The sensitivity I had was bearable and I wasn't complaining so not sure of the reason for the 3 sessions instead of 4. I could've done 4. I have read that dentists will ask how it feels and then proceed from there, while I was told the I would get 3 sessions from the beginning by the dental assistant without even being seen by the dentist yet. Maybe the dentist can explain her reasons in her future appointments. The two star is because as a patient, I don't know everything you know even though I have done research. I feel it was her responsibility to put the flouride on all my teeth. It seeme like I wouldn't have gotten any flouride if I didn't mention the sensitivity. read more

No never again. Amazing to read the other reviews. The front desk clerk, an older lady with short hair was rude and just plain nasty. Really? Why would I go back here and pay to get treated in such a rude way? The doctor is only after the money and does not seem to care about the patient. The estimated bill was hundreds of dollars more than the second opinion. Oh - this doc pushes her sedation stuff and doing all the work at once. Not for me. Never again!!!! read more

This is honestly the worst Doctor experience I have ever had. My root canal was a failure as my tooth kept hurting even after it and I went to the doctor( Dr Sundaram) personally multiple times and she said my tooth was fine until the fourth time after several months she suddenly says I should go to an orthodontist for another root canal because dentists cannot always perform root canals successfully. My question is, why wouldn't you in the first place refer me to an orthodontist? Make me pay for the root canal and now ask me to redo it and pay again. Sadly my insurance does not let you perform multiple treatments on the same tooth in a period of two years and she or anyone in her office is not ready to take responsibility for this. Is this what you are taught when you take oath? To scam patients and let them live in pain? read more

She takes her time with us, answers all questions, follows up, and makes our time in the chair as pleasant an experience as possible. LEFT WITH PAIN THAT WON'T GO AWAY AND HIPPA VIOLATIONS! I am so sorry to have to write this negative review, but this has been a really awful experience for me and I feel like others should be aware of what they are getting into with this dentist. At the time of a cleaning in February Dr Sundaram told me that I needed one filling and replacement of one sealant. Seems like an easy enough thing for a dentist do...however neither procedure was completed correctly and I found myself in terrible pain. Two additional dental appointments later and my teeth (one in particular) are still not the same. I have been told by another dentist that a root canal will eventually be necessary to correct the problem. I have asked for a refund of the original $110 dollars. Dr Sundaram has given me the run around about this refund (which is a small portion of what her work is going to cost me in the end) for 3 months! She also contacted my new dentist AGAINST MY EXPLICITLY AND DIRECTLY TELLING HER SHE WAS TO DO NO SUCH THING! This is a horrible violation of HIPPA law/patient confidentiality! I work with clients/patients every day in a similar field and would NEVER EVER keep payment for work that left the patient dissatisfied. I expect the same when I am the patient. read more
