I've tried other shops locally that didn't have the tools or the know-how; Pacific absolutely does. Service & expertise: Friendly, fast, and deeply knowledgeable. Every visit turns into a mini masterclass, I end up hanging around nerding out about bikes, local trails, and riding because the staff actually rides and it shows. Bike fitting: They're among the most capable bike fitters in the area. If you need a professional bike fit for road, tri, or MTB, this is the place to get comfortable, efficient, and injury-free. Selection: From kids' bikes to road bikes, e-bikes, and racks/accessories, they've got the essentials covered, plus the parts and tools to keep serious riders rolling. Bottom line: if you're searching for a mountain bike shop, MTB suspension setup, bike service, or a professional bike fit in Fairfield County, Pacific Cycling & Triathlon is the real deal. Or shall I say "skiing in the park..." cause this is where my dad brought us every Fall to rent our seasonal Skiing equipment! It was the best outing of the year! We would get fitted for boots, ski's & poles. *Hickory & Tweed was founded by Jimmy and Roberta Ross in 1961. The name represents ~ Hickory (type of wood for skis) & Tweed wool (being the best insulation for the cold back then). In 1985, Skip Beitzel, who worked there while in high school, bought it and has kept the name and the concepts. I was so happy to see it was still a local icon and not much had changed. My High School friend and I stopped in to browse amongst the gear and chatted with one of the sales people. The store had all top of the line sports brands and upstairs on the second floor they still do the ski equipment fittings! It totally made my day! They also have a bike shop located on the same lot in a separate building. The shop looks like a colonial home. The staff is ready to help you with all of your needs. *Some Parking available in the back & streets

While new bicycle stocks are low everywhere due to worldwide supply chain issues, Bicycle World has…read morebeen super helpful keeping my families old bikes in working order. That includes an old Full-Campy Custom Serotta, and an old but high-end Trek Tri-bike that my daughter used for many years, including commuting in Montreal at McGill, and lately training for a Half-Ironman. Bicycle World re-fitted my daughter's old Trek last year, helping to solve a developing knee problem. I consider the $200 price for a complete fitting (with posture-suggestions) was a deal, considering the alternative costs in pain and medical expenses. They can't do anything about my pain trying to keep up with my daughter up hills, however. This week, I bought her a used Cervelo P3 bike from theproscloset.com, and again, Bicycle World did a very complete and fine-tuned fitting. They also fixed a couple significant issues: (1) somebody had dropped a seat-clamp into the frame, which required completely disassembling the crank and headset to extract, and (2) the derailleur drop-out was bent out of alignment. theproscloset.com was actually happy to pay for those fixes on an otherwise- pristine bike. The less-than-one-day turnaround was perhaps lucky, but great since my daughter is here for only a few more days. We should all support our LBS, and I'm very happy with mine. I also find their prices are usually as good as Amashame.com or is it Amascam.com? In the shop they are all wearing masks (and I mean correctly!) which I also appreciate.

Awful Experience -- Stay Away from This Bike Shop…read more I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but after multiple bad experiences, I'm done. The co-founder -- who seems to be the face of the business -- is consistently rude, dismissive, and lacks basic customer service skills. Today was the final straw. I came to pick up my bike after clearly telling their service rep I'd be in on Wednesday or Thursday. Instead of being helpful, I was met with attitude for not "calling ahead." I'm sorry, but I gave a window -- and you're closed Sunday -- so maybe don't take it out on your customers. Previously, she left me standing outside even though it was one minute before opening. Another time, she snapped at me for wanting to load my bike into the car before paying -- as if helping a customer ensure the product fits isn't part of the job. And when I finally spoke up about how I've been treated over the years, she literally told me she didn't like my tone. Not professional. Not acceptable. If you value good service, skip this place. Anyone know a better bike shop in Westchester? I'm in Ossining -- happy to drive 15-20 minutes for respectful, reliable service. Thanks in advance -- and seriously, avoid this shop if you don't want your day ruined. Look at this biz owner's response. This is how they treat customers. She basically told me she does not like my voice. Like how I speak. ___________________________________________ Owner's response below blaming me for getting g yelled at for not calling in advance. -after I told their service provider I would be in Wednesday or Thursday to bike up my bike. See blow folks. Unfortunately, the biz owner's response is consistent with the kind of dismissive attitude I've experienced in person. I stand by my review and hope other customers take note.

I brought in an old bike for repairs, and ended up buying a consignment bike for less money than the cost of the repairs. Got a great deal and could not be happier. While were there, My husband fell in love with a Specialized bike. Michael showed him a few different ones, all with excellent customer care and service. My husband bought his bike yesterday, and in the past 24 hours has ridden 40 miles (This is a guy who was never a cyclist before!). The gentlemen were helpful and friendly, offering suggestions on where we should ride as well as places to avoid. We ended up going back later in the day to buy cycling shorts and a lock. He repeated that he wasn't kidding about 5 times and lectured us on how he has to put food on the table and was incredibly condescending. We ended up leaving because neither of us had $5 and his attitude was horrible. We all work to support the small businesses of our towns, even when it sometimes costs us more. That's the spirit of a small town. To let my friend use the pump for less than a minute would have cost him nothing and we would have remembered it. Instead, his incredibly rude attitude made sure that neither of us will ever buy a bike from him we will definitely go out of our way to never service a bike with him or buy any supplies. And we will advise others to not go to him. There are other small bike businesses in the area that know how to treat people respectably and I'll gladly spend my money there.
