The rooms are neat and very clean. The bed is comfortable and the shower is better than expected. Great water pressure and lots of hot water. There are no TV's, but who needs one here. The resort has a great game room housing both a pool table and ping pong table. It's the perfect place to bring your family. Donna, the innkeeper, understands how to manage this expansive property. It has a wonderful cooked to order breakfast and Friday night Lobster Dinner. Dan, the owner is very hands on working the property from dawn to dusk. We can't wait to come back!

Summer days have never felt more relaxing than when you're by the water in one of their many lounge chairs. If your'e with family, like I was, there's paddle boarding, a game center, picnic areas, and beautiful scenes. Dan and Roseana, and really the whole staff, were so welcoming, warm, and accommodating to our every need. No request went unanswered. If you go you must stay for the weekend, or at least until Friday if you're staying during the week. Their lobster bake by the water is so enjoyable; it's a true Maine experience. In fact, it's more than that. It's a Tarry A While experience. You can't get that kind of community with delicious food anywhere else in Maine. I will definitely be going back and will always ask friends and family to come with me!

I can't believe this place doesn't have a single Yelp Review…read more PLEASE, somebody, TELL ME YOU'VE BEEN HERE! I should start this review by saying that I was born and raised right in quaint little Harrison, Maine (and had never been either)... Smack dab in the middle of 2 beautiful lakes and surround by mountains. It. Is. Perfect. We're small and quiet and we like it that way. So it may surprise you to hear that it's home to "Maine's Most Enchanting Theatre", which was built in 1935 by Enrica Clay Dillon, who was a prominent opera singer and sister in law to Clark Gable! (I learned all this last night at my very first show, so naturally I gotta drop some knowledge on y'all!) It's a 350 seat theatre built of rose hemlock and the second you walk in the doors you can understand why the word "enchanting" is used to describe it. It's a woodsy, warm & inviting place. Not a bad seat in the house, however in the middle of July it does get quite toasty in there considering it has barn doors and camp style windows, (remember -- enchanting) .. Last night, I accompanied my grandmother to see "Open The Door For 3" which is an incredibly talented Celtic Trio. I know there was an Irish Guitar player... and a lady Fiddler.. and then.. the man with the weird pile of stuff-- which I can't tell you what it was, but, BOY did he know how to play it... it was a flute and a tin whistle and another bagpipe-y thing on his arm (he was all over the place!) Not only were they are extremely, EXTREMELY talented musicians, they jived SO well together!!! If you ever get the chance, let them entertain you, it's a really remarkable thing to hear music that's hundreds of years old. One minute it felt like the Titanic was setting sail, and the next I felt like I was Rose, in the basement of the cargo space dancing and drinking beer with a bunch of rowdy Irishmen. But, you be the judge yourself. Regardless of whether or not you like a Celtic Trio, or the theatre in general- Please please do yourself the favor of visiting this breathtaking little venue for at least one show. They do kids shows during the weekdays and on show nights they encourage you to pack a picnic and sit on the lawn before the curtain bell rings. Whatever you do, just go! And tell a friend. This place is really something special.

Built in 1936 when Americas were first beginning to vacation by car, Deertrees Theater is in the cute town of Harrison at the tip of Long Lake. I can envision that it was a great hangout for the rich and almost rich to enjoy productions put on by top performers from the NYC and Boston opera and Broadway shows, because it was too hot to stay in the cities. Now the audience is made up of locals and summer visitors who clearly know what a special place this is and visit it frequently. Deertrees Theater is billed as the most acoustically perfect theater north of NYC. I can't say whether that is true, but I can tell you that the acoustics were terrific. The audience could easily hear un-amplified performers from any seat in the house. The Deertrees Theater has a really full schedule while it is open. The playbill we saw had something going on at least 3 days a week. Some were plays, many were musical performances. The show we went to, Susie Pepper and Mixology, was of the highest quality for musical showmanship and talent. The theater sells homemade cookies, coffee, wine, beer, and lots more. There are restaurants and taverns in Harrison, and Bridgton is right around the corner with several more places to eat. We drove over an hour to attend the show, and we are so glad to discover this wonderful place. No matter if you are not close by, you will not regret exploring this part of Maine and coming to the Deertrees Theater. There are just so few places as well maintained, well managed, and with so many great shows. We had a spectacular time and hope that others will too.

Tracey lacked communication with me, my vendors, my bridal party, and my family and was late on multiple occasions. Due to poor communication between a vendor and her, I had to change the venue site two days before my wedding, which was rather stressful. He had requested to assess the venue over three months in advance, and she told him no, never consulting with me to ask if he could come out. I found this out two days before our wedding. She was unable to handle simple tasks and failed to assert herself and take charge of her defined role. She stood in the background watching the entire weekend. I would like to call her an expensive guest, but even my guests contributed more to my wedding day than she did. My bridal party "met" Tracey at the rehearsal dinner. However, she attended but didn't speak one word to anyone and sat at the end of the table. On the day of the wedding, she stood in the background, didn't help solve any last-minute concerns, ate out food, didn't engage with anyone, then took our wedding leftovers home. We were happy to send food with her but so profoundly disappointed in her role over the weekend. A word of caution: after meeting with my vendors before and after my wedding, there was talk they would no longer do business with Tracey due to their poor experience and lack of communication. This may restrict the vendors for future weddings if choosing to work with Tracey as a planner.

Nick and Jessica go above and beyond for their couples and Cassie is an incredible day of coordinator that makes you feel like you're at home on your big day. It was pouring rain all day on Saturday and the whole BMI team made our day so special. We decided early on to have our ceremony in the beautiful barn on site and it was literally the most beautiful set up I've ever seen at a wedding. We couldn't get over how beautiful everything looked. It is such an intimate and beautiful memory that is burned in our brains for life. Our wedding was for about 160ish people so we rented a tent to do our reception outside - this couldn't have been an easier process and the tent looked like a fairy tale out on the yard. When I tell you think is the most incredible wedding venue on the face of the Earth we so mean it. Every single moment our wedding was so perfect and it was really was made possible by the team at the Bear Mountain Inn. Nick, Jessica and Cassie + team we LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH and legit cannot wait to come back in the winter to hang out and party with you guys. The drive to this location was rural but as you get closer the views are so beautiful. We drove by beautiful waterways - not sure if they were ponds or lakes, but they were beautiful and snow capped mountains in the distance - simply breathtaking as you drive further away from civilization. The location is easy to find, it's private enough for your events as well - far away from heavily traffic roads. There was plenty of parking for our group of 38 people (some of us did car pool). The grounds were so well kept - clean and neat and multiple outdoor fire pits to sit around, each with comfy chairs. The views of the water from the Inn grounds were so peaceful. You can also hike away from the water as well. So much nature to just take in, very calming for frayed nerves. The buildings are updated, but remain with a rustic style. Seems like pages right of a catalog. Gorgeous. The owners were so warm and welcoming to our group and very respectful of the privacy of the retreat. They took the time to welcome each of us and get to know us as people. Very much felt like we were guests in their home. It was fantastic. We hope to be able to visit again next year. Beautiful venue for retreats, weddings and gatherings. I highly recommend based on my days worth of experience.
