My husband and I came up to celebrate my 60th birthday in February. We booked the Sugarloaf Mountain room, which was the best! It had two sitting areas, both with stunning views of the lake, a gas fireplace and a Jacuzzi tub. It was a very peaceful and romantic setting. We Also booked an hour in their oasis sauna which is located outside with a large window facing the lake. After sitting in the sauna for 15 to 20 minutes, we stepped outside into 17° winter weather and it was amazing! The staff and the owners, Nicole and Geoff, were all very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I had our Microwedding at Wolf Cove November 2025! It was the most amazing weekend for us and our guests. Nicole and Geoff have a beautiful inn and were so accommodating to our small wedding. The food is something I really want to highlight, the complimentary breakfasts were so tasty, and everyone loved them. We did a lobster bake for our rehearsal dinner and for the night of the wedding the Microwedding package we had purchased included a coursed dinner. Both meals absolutely blew us and our guests away. Our group's favorites were the seasonal creamed spinach, the hot honey burrata salad, and the filet mignon. We tend to be a little particular about food and the meals could not have been better. Where to begin?! We feel so incredibly lucky to have had our wedding at the gorgeous Wolf Cove Inn this past summer. We knew we wanted to have an intimate and relaxed wedding/reception with our families (and dog!) so Wolf Cove seemed like the perfect venue and when we reached out in the spring, we were thrilled that they were able to accommodate us for our 11-person wedding there less than 4 months later. During the planning process, Nicole was so wonderful to work with and very responsive to all of our questions. The Wolf Cove micro wedding package really helped streamline decision making, while also enabling us to customize our big day as much as we wanted. We decided to add extra florals and a lobster bake dinner for our party the night before the wedding, which was wonderful! The chefs are so talented - all of the food was so delicious and we also loved the creative cocktails at the beautiful new bar. They even accommodated our desire to have the wedding dinner outside by the lake, where we were treated to the most incredible sunset! Wolf Cove is truly such a magical place - our entire wedding party felt relaxed from the moment we checked in and went for a swim in the lake until the day we left, after enjoying the sauna/ice bath on the property. Well, where do I even begin? The young girls running this place looked absolutely exhausted, bless their hearts. Frankly, it was uncomfortable just watching them hustle while the so-called owners floated around like they were on vacation themselves. And at these prices? Please. It's crystal clear they're catering to wealthy tourists, not anyone who actually lives in Maine. The whole thing screamed, "Look at our picture-perfect Maine getaway!"--only it felt more like a postcard than the real thing. Now, I've been coming to Maine for years, so I know authentic when I see it. This wasn't it. I'll admit, I was fooled by all the glowing reviews--until I realized they send out some automated survey after your stay. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how they keep anything less than five stars off Google or Yelp. And the kicker? No one bothered to mention there'd be an event during our stay. Imagine paying top dollar, only to feel like an uninvited guest in the common areas. Had I known, I would've booked another time. My daughter & I were going to have a "Home Alone" Style Christmas. One of the images on website shows beautiful Inn with the Christmas like atmosphere & stunning lights. It was extravagant, but due to the recession etc. my girl deserved a good one. Estimate of $2k w/all extras. I brought the balance down leaving approximately $600. due at in time, which I requested an earlier time if available?! 1:00 opposed to 3:00 & there's a charge for this. Due to a family matter I had to cancel!! Well, well, well, this went over smooth as silk w/ co-owner, Not!! Haughty & More of same. Whoa. Don't do that here. I emailed, left a message & texted. The following day equaled a notification of 15-16 days prior to reservation. I called the next day & asked about refund. The woman was condescending & straight up rude. She talked over me. I normally would come back at ya! What a tude!! She told me more than 1 time if I had waited to cancel 14 days prior the entirety of this 3 day stay would be lost & the Inn would have taken all funds, $0. return. She made this perfectly clear!! She was short in temperament & I could hear she was not thrilled of losing $$. That's obvious!! They snagged $187.00. & I immediately contacted the Inn when we had our family matter pop up. That's the same amount of time you tell an employer "see ya!" 2 week notice & that wasn't enough time. Please! She was ripped because we weren't spending the major nightly charges for Snotty Cove Inn. I didn't stay & don't intend to make any future reservations with the entire greedy reservation/cancelation policy. They made a few bucks off of me. I think it's sin to take someone's $$ when you have a family urgency & have plenty of notice ie; 2 weeks notice. This in itself is a turn off. They can have their snobbery guests & I'll take the high road. Their restrictions are ludicrous & they took funds given a reasonable cancelation notice. No thanks!! I know high-end & low-end. This was the most wonderful bed & breakfast that we've ever stayed in! Geoff, Nicole, and the entire staff were always there to ensure we had the best stay possible. I love this place! We chose to stay at this B&B for our 50th wedding anniversary and I'm so glad we did. Most importantly, every single staff member is unfailingly friendly and helpful. And the new owners, Geoff and Nicole, are great and clearly interested in not just maintaining Wolf Cove Inn's stellar reputation, but enhancing the ambiance. Just today a sauna was added, which I'm sure the winter guests will welcome. Every day the breakfast menu is different - and delicious. Our bed is super comfortable and solid (no creakiness!) Just outside our door are a refrigerator, microwave, paper plates, and wine glasses. After Geoff and Nicole found out it was our anniversary, they surprised us with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. I booked dog sledding and this in was 20 min from it. It has a lovely common area for guests to sit at the various tables and couches and you can get free tea and coffee and sit by the fireplace. We had the Sebago Lake room. It's on the smaller side but it had good views. The sheets were nice and the room was clean. Breakfast is included and we ate and made it to our activities on time. There is lake outside the inn so it looks very nice. Since it was winter there were people ice fishing on the water! read more

The Wolf Cove Inn is the perfect relaxing get away - I cannot recommend it enough! The inn is snuggled against Tripp Pond, but it feels large enough to easily be a lake. Kayaks and life jackets are on the property for guest use so that would be a great way to spend an afternoon if you want to spend the day close to home. It was a little chilly when we went so we opted to use the outdoor fire pit instead. They have everything ready for you from the newspaper and fire starters to get you going, and individually wrapped s'mores kits to cap off the night. They also have local craft beers and bottles of wine if you want a liquid dessert instead :) Our room was fantastic - everything from the gas fireplace to the king bed to the spa tub for two made our room a cozy oasis. Normally we don't spend too much time in the room on a typical vacation, but I honestly could have spent the entire weekend on the property with no complaints. Meals were fantastic - the breakfast is homemade every morning with different specialty items in addition to the usual eggs and bacon. Our favorite was definitely the crustless quiche! We loved the option to have breakfast delivered to our room every morning so we could enjoy having a slow start to the day, while still having a beautiful view of the water in the morning. Starting with the Inn Keepers, as friendly and hands on as can be. Their expectations are high and their efforts show this. The location is breathtaking, the rooms are large, and comfortable. Im a big guy and I can say that everything is of quality in this inn, from the furniture to the food. The lake itself is beautiful year round, weather you witness a bad eagle land in the lake or the ice fishing that occurs throughout winter. The Wolf Cove Inn was such a nice and relaxing getaway. It was secluded and snuggled away in rural Maine right on Tripp Pond. We went in the winter so we couldn't swim in the lake, but the outdoor fire was so cozy. They had some kits available to make your own smores inside. The Acadia room had a perfect view of the lake and outdoors, which gave breakfast an extra benefit. The tub for two made it seem like we had a spa right in our room. The Experience Maine Package Special package was well worth it. Dinner for two, which included a salad, homemade pizza, and dessert, was so delicious. We had dinner the first night we drove in, which started our vacation off the right way. Inside our room fridge, we also received four cans of hand-selected local Maine craft beers. They were all delicious and made the trip even more relaxing. Included as well were two Wolf Cove Inn coffee mugs to commemorate our trip. I've used them a few times at home, and it always brings back happy memories of our stay. The Romantic Getaway Package Special was another amazing offer we took advantage of. We were given sparkling wine, fresh flowers, and chocolate-covered strawberries on the day we arrived. This package also gave us breakfast in bed each day. It was so nice to start the day slowly and open our door to a different breakfast each day. The Acadia Room had a small table and chairs right next to the bedroom window, which allowed us to take in the view while eating an appetizing meal. What a relaxing get-away! Instead of enduring yet another 'stay-cation' imposed by Covid rules and fears, my husband and I decided to venture from our home in Rochester, New Hampshire to nearby Maine for our second stay at the peaceful Wolf Cove Inn. Very cute little B&B on Tripp Lake. We stayed in the separate cabin for our mini(honey)moon. Being on the lake was so quiet, peaceful and serene. We were able to bring our pekingese too. The daily breakfast was delicious, I just wish there was an option for dinner as well because the food at the local restaurants in the area were just awful. This was mine and my husband's first time staying at an inn, and we were honestly SO blown away by the experience. To start with, the grounds are beautiful. It's directly on a lake, and the inn offers free kayaks, a canoe, a boat and fishing equipment. I highly recommend taking advantage of them (we took the boat out every day). The food is also phenomenal, and their famous breakfasts are not to be missed. We also enjoyed pizza on the deck one day, which was delicious and a pretty view. The service was great, especially from the owner who was not only incredibly nice, but also really helpful in recommending restaurants for the second half of our trip in Portland. Everyone there was just very pleasant and accommodating. The room itself was cozy, though I personally didn't love the pillows and would recommend bringing your own if you're a picky person like me. My husband had no issues with them, however. The blankets and sheets were super soft. The bathroom specifically for the room we stayed in was unique, as it was a few steps down the hall. Wolf Cove Inn and the staff truly made it feel like a home away from home. My girlfriend and I stayed there for three nights (THR-SUN) in THE BIGELOWS room. Located on the third floor facing the front of the property (parking / road side). Although some cars could be heard, it was mostly not a bother and having nobody above or behind most of the surrounding walls made it a quiet room. Speaking of quiet, the AC is whisper quiet and very effective at keeping the room cool. The bed and linens were clean and comfy. The room has a (small) TV with cable offering many channels. There is also good Wi-Fi throughout the property - no password required since it's fairly secluded. Wolf Cove Inn did their best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Super friendly staff, always greeted and offered any assistance. They were very helpful with information on local activities and offered bug spray for our hike which is available for the guests. There is (free) bottled water, canned soda, coffee and tea available throughout the day. There is a mini fridge on every floor which is always stocked with beverages and a coffee / tea Thermos in the dining area. Speaking of dining, the included daily breakfast here is part of what makes WCI a special experience. This is a FULL breakfast and puts most "hotel included" breakfasts to shame. It changes daily including: eggs every-which way, quiche, omelets, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, fruit cups, baked goods, various cereals and even some GF options. There is a welcome board by the main entrance with individual room slots which daily surprises you with a pair of fresh maple cookies and tomorrow's breakfast selection page. Choose what you want, mark it on the page and drop it back in. Aside from the comfy rooms and tasty / plentiful breakfast Wolf Cove Inn also has a nice lake with free canoes and kayaks for the guests to use. The nice dock helps with using the kayaks or to fish off of (need your own rods). Although we did not have any luck fishing here (nor see any fish), we did spot a Bald Eagle in the distance and a beaver swimming around the dock at dusk. There isn't much of a beach, but there are plenty of lounge and Adirondack chairs on the lawn overlooking the lake. They are quite relaxing to use during the day or in the evening while by the firepit. Again, the property offers everything to make the stay hassle free and enjoyable. Making available lighters, logs and fire-starter for the firepit. Binoculars to observe nature / wildlife. Bug spray if needed. And various board games to make the day / evening more fun. We played some backgammon, while watching the sunset and observing the stealthy beaver. Poland Maine is slow-paced and there isn't a hopping downtown, which was nice for a change. However there are plenty of places to visit including the Poland Spring Preservation Park, which has the Poland Springs museum and nice hiking trails to enjoy. Although we were bothered by ticks and mosquitoes during our hike (mid-June). There are many antiques stores in the area which we enjoyed visiting and shopping at. A few breweries and a local Oxford Casino too if that's your thing. But the star attraction here aside from hiking and antiquing is the Maine Wildlife Park which we quite enjoyed visiting. It like a zoo which consists of mostly local animals which for various reasons wouldn't have survived on their own in the wild. There's an interactive guide on their website to use during the visit. Aside from breakfast, other food is only accessible by car with enough restaurant / take-out choices not too far. There's also a Walmart and Hannaford supermarket nearby. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. It was nice to finally stay somewhere else after the Covid lockdown and this was the perfect choice. If you're looking to escape from the repetitive schedule and enjoy a quiet getaway, I would definitely recommend visiting Wolf Cove Inn and enjoy a few days in peaceful Maine. read more

Walk in shower with no steps. Big enough bed with enough room to get around (she is short so the bed was a touch high). The lodge has a great chef, the breakfasts were tasty, filling, well done and not pretentious at all. Is it pricey, maybe depending on your expectations. The location can't be beat, right on the edge of Tripp Lake, with beautiful grounds & gardens for walking or sitting. Such an amazing getaway! My husband and I stayed in the Cadillac Mountain room. The view is spectacular and the room was very clean. Comfortable bed, jetted tub and quiet location. Only downside would be the very slanted ceiling (hit my head more than once lol) and the large step from room to bathroom that we never got used to. Sue was kind enough to walk us through the gorgeous house. Despite the freezing temperatures outside, the rooms were nice and warm. The beds were super comfortable and clean. Roy can really cook up an amazing breakfast. Cocoa ricotta pancakes, fritatta, hash browns, local bacon, fruits, the list goes on. You are able to customize your meal to your liking. Do not feel like you are limited to only one side like I was. The view from the dining was stunning and picturesque. It was also the first time I walked on a frozen pond. I drove 6 hours in snow from New York City. There is no excuse for you not to visit! read more

I don't recommend this establishment. The resident owners of this timeless home have a penchant for 70s classic rock music, also timeless. We'd hear it emanating from the kitchen adjoining the dining room during meal times. Unfortunately, from our guest room situated one floor above the owner's private rooms, we also heard the bass of guitar music rising up through the floor as we tried to watch football, or go to sleep at night. It was impossible to ignore it. Yet, this is a bed and breakfast. Who does that? We endured until almost 11 PM on the first night, then called the owners from our cell phone, politely inquiring about the inconvenient noise. We were given apologies and the music stopped soon after. However, the second night, it was the same, perhaps a little quieter, but we heard the sound of bass guitar and its vibrations coming up through our floor again. Who does that, again? As the music was at a slightly lower volume and stopped around 10:30 PM we decided to let it go. However, on the third night, when it happened again and was louder, one of us went downstairs to ask, in person, about the noise. One of the owners, who was found in the office area, pretended the music didn't exist. She insisted there was nothing going on in their private room below ours. She even suggested the music might be coming from another guest who occupied the room on the floor directly above ours. Then just as we were reminding her the noise had been going on for three days, the occupant of the room above ours, having overhead the conversation, chimed in and exclaimed he had only just checked in that morning, so it could not have been him for three days, and besides, he said, he wasn't playing music. Instantly the female owner said she'd check her apartment again. Again, shortly afterward, the sounds stopped. We highly suspect it was her husband. We saw him below our window, coming and going from their room below to their outside garden, each time, the music starting and stopping with his entering or exiting their room below. Aside from that, this inn has a lovely view of Lake Tripp. It also has street noise from the nearby highway that takes away from the view. The floors are all polished wood and dangerously slippery in socks. Neighboring guests are clearly audible coming and going, as are the squeaky bangy guest room doors. The shower in our room had a broken shower head that was awkwardly attached to the ceiling of the cramped plastic stall enclosed with an 80s brass trimmed door. The dingy bathroom towels have seen better days. Our bed was hard enough to produce significant morning aches and pains. The flat feather pillows needed propping up with the decorative throw pillows. Not comfortable at all. The food was fairly good, but another mixed bag. The French toast and the pancakes we had on separate mornings were delicious. The breakfast buffet table offered fresh fruit and annoyingly small mini-muffins. No yogurt. A basket was left out 24/7 with several individual slices of bread lined up wrapped in plastic wrap, as well as halved bagels similarly wrapped in plastic wrap. It looked sad and meager with a jar of peanut butter looming nearby. Leftover walnut bread from the morning's breakfast and leftover mini-muffins were given the same treatment with saran wrap at the breakfast buffet table. The best part of our stay was paddling a canoe on the lake. We also snapped several photos on the picturesque grounds. We took day trips to a hiking trail, an animal sanctuary, and a few local eateries. Memories of our three-night Labor Day Weekend visit will be a mixed bag, however. We were offended that the owners of a bed and breakfast had so little regard for guests as to treat them like unwanted relatives. We live in a very decent Boston apartment, occasionally suffering the noisy neighbor. That's to be expected. But, when paying $300 per night for a stay at a bed and breakfast, one would hardly expect to be vexed by the noisy music of the actual owners of the establishment. And their denials and lies? That's just weird. I've stayed at several B&Bs. This is the only one, so far, that I would not recommend. read more

I stayed here this past weekend when I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding. The inn was beautiful. Great rooms, right on the lake, beautiful property. If it weren't for Helen, the innkeeper, i would be giving this establishment rave reviews. Helen gave everyone at the hotel a hard time. She was not accomodating at all and was actually quite rude to guests. There was a dock on the lake where we wanted to take pictures. Some of slats/pieces were out of the dock. She would not allow us to put them back in. When the outlets were not working outside for the caterers, she unplugged the extension cord in the middle of the reception. She locked the inn during the middle of the reception so even guests could not get in (because we had left our keys inside - after all, the wedding party had rented out the entire 10 rooms of the inn!). She made some people cry because she was so rude. Breakfast was served in the dining room. However, because the wedding party was getting ready upstairs I asked if I could bring some food upstairs. The inn is better than ever, with more flowers planted, more canoes available, and now a fire pit with packages of smores all ready to go! We love the owners and their staff; they make a great breakfast--best lemon ricotta pancakes EVER, welcome you with hugs (if you're vaccinated and want), and try to meet all your needs. We had two grandsons with us and they were so kind to them. They honor food requests and concerns such as lactose intolerant, provide restaurant recs in the area, have books and puzzles galore on hand. We also enjoyed the special pizzas and salads one night with cupcakes for dessert. The inn attracts lovely guests who are friendly and warm. We can't say enough about the place, the lake, views; our third visit is not our last. We want to try one fall and also in the winter. Also, they honored Covid-19 concerns and required proof of vaccination so we felt safe on our venture out into the new world. Lovely lake views and access and walks around the lake are all extras. My girlfriend & I came here to celebrate my birthday on 03/25/17. We had a very beautiful, enjoyable stay for 3 nights @ this Inn. We had a warm, cozy room & it was very clean & comfortable. Dining & living rooms are spacious & very comfortable. We enjoyed fantastic views of the frozen lake, both from our room & from the common areas downstairs. Breakfast was artfully prepared, creative, delicious & different every day. "AJ", the inn-sitter & trained chef was amazing & made everything perfect! We relaxed a bit, but we also went out & did horseback riding one day & cross country skiing another day. This was one of the nicest B&B's we've ever stayed at. We didn't want to leave, but we know that we can always come back. read more

This was our second time at the inn but the first under the new ownership. What a wonderful place to spend a relaxing few days in gorgeous surroundings and with friendly and familial staff. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable -- A/C, great beds, TVs (though if it hadn't been for the World Cup going on, I wouldn't have been tempted to turn it on), and lovely views. Complimentary breakfast to order is thoughtfully made and delicious. The grounds are perfectly maintained, and the interior post-renovation is spectacular. We enjoyed several trips out in the kayaks, followed by swims in the lake, and finished with drying out with a book on the deck chairs. Roy and Sue do a great job; I couldn't believe it when I learned that this is their first foray into the innkeeping world. I hope to come back soon. read more

incredibly charming bed and breakfast on Tripp Pond in Maine. it's really a lake. don't let the pond name fool you. right on the water with extremely friendly staff. very clean and comfortable. will definitely return for a second stay. perfect spot for a weekend getaway. almost hate to write such a good review because don't want it to get harder to get a reservation. the breakfasts were delicious and definitely enjoyed the lakeside pizza on the first night. highly recommend this place for a relaxing stress free weekend getaway. read more

Spent a wonderful weekend at this B&B this winter! We stayed in the Mt. Katahdin room and it was amazing! The sheets were extremely soft and the bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed the spa tub. The only downside was that the tub did not hold water very well and tended to drain during use requiring frequent refills. However AJ, Val, and the rest of the crew were all extremely nice and accommodating. We were able to add another night to our stay due to a snow storm without an issue. The breakfasts were incredible and the pizza dinner was a great way to spend a snowy night in. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a nice retreat on the lake. We will certainly be back! read more

My husband & I stayed at the Inn recently. We stayed in a beautiful room with a double spa tub. Very relaxing. The room was nicely decorated, although it would have been nice to have new candles around the jaccuzi - those provided by the Inn were used up. The bed was comfortable. The tv could have been larger. The downer of the room was the peeling wall paper in the bathroom. The ceiling vent was filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. Breakfast was also a let-down. Although what we got tasted good, 2 pieces of french toast and some juice just doesn't cut it in our b&b experiences. No meat was provided and the sliced fruit at our table was dried for sitting out too long and not very appealing. We will not be returning to this Inn. read more

Probably the nicest B&B we've ever stayed at. Our room was perfect, the food was incredible and the owner's were extremely helpful with whatever request/questions we had. If lounging by the lake, kayaking and sitting by the fire is what you're looking for, this is the place. Be warned there is not much to do in the local area and restaurants are scarce but the Inn is still worth staying at. I'd definitely go there again. read more

My sister got married here last weekend. Everything was perfect except for the innkeeper, Helen. She made the entire bridal party feel uncomfortable. She questioned if I was a sister because my hair is brown (my sisters is blond), she also made my other sister cry when she screamed at her for plugging an extension cord in one of the rooms for the DJ. Then said she was going to go downstairs and tell the bride right in the middle of the reception. She also locked everyone out of the inn without giving us the opportunity to grab our keys! Guests and all. Helen is awful! I hope they find another innkeeper quick, so they don't go out of business. read more
