I stayed at Double B Lodge over Christmas Eve & Christmas nights. I decided on Double B because of all the great reviews & our usual place was fully booked. Surprisingly, I was very disappointed. The first morning I went to shower and found this washcloth (picture attached) in the shower + a piece of used TP at the top of the shower (right when you get in). I went to go put some ice packs in the freezer and there were two old waffles left in the freezer (picture attached). It seems like their housekeepers did a quick turnover and missed some MAJOR things. I honestly don't know if I would ever stay here again since I am pretty grossed out by the experience. When we checked out there was no one at the front so we were unable to speak to anyone about this. Hopefully they can make sure their housekeepers do a better job in the future. read more

This place was super cute and just what we needed to escape the craziness of the holidays. We got tons of snow so basically just stayed in the cabin most of the time. It ended up snowing sooooo much that upon check-in we almost got stuck in the snow and also helped another couple dig their car out after it got stuck. I would suggest plowing a few times per day vs. only in the morning, but the staff were friendly and helpful. The cabin is a bit outdated, which adds to the charm, but it could also use a few more dishes and kitchen items to cook with. However, we had a great stay and the fireplace worked great and it was super cozy and warm. read more

I wasn't too sure what to expect when I booked this cabin online. I did a Google search for cabins in Show Low/Pinetop and this place came up. I was fairly impressed with the pictures, as well as price, online...so I decided why not?! I booked the cabin for one night on a Thursday. They offered an online discount if you mentioned that you found them online (10%). My cabin (which sleeps 4) came to around 88 dollars. Not too shaby in my book! Upon arrival I was a little afraid of what would lie ahead. The reception/check in area was ragged and old, and couch cushions were thrown around the guest area...hmmmmmmmmmm and crappppppp I thought. The owner (I presume) was friendly and accommodating. I was able to check in early which was an added bonus. We drove to our little cabin. How quaint. The cabin had a swing rocker outside and a bench as well. There were windows all around the cabin. Upon entering, you are greeted with one futon couch (sleep 2), a flat screen tv with cable, a small table, decent sized fridge/freezer, cabinets with utensils/plates/pans, sink, and 2 burner stove. There was a small heat stove in the living area and 2 ac units (though I don't know why you would need it) in the cabin. The bathroom was fairly decent in size with a basic sink, tub, and toilet. The water was ICE COLD and took a tad to get hot. Nothing fancy here. NOTE: Please bring extra soap and shampoo items. The ones that were provided were a little skimpy and super basic...no extras here. There are several BBQ grills located around the property which proved beneficial when we made dinner. The other cabins and hotel rooms were spread out throughout the property. Other neighboring visitors were quiet and no issues arose there. The bed in the extra room was a queen and had comfortable bedding. It was a little hard but proved to be a nice nights sleep after a long drive there. In all, cozy little place that I will definitely return to in the future. I do wish that they provided more in terms of amenities and that extra mile, but that won't stray me from considering them. read more

Seriously. Not one review I read wrote about the great location of this place. It's located right on the main strip of Pinetop! From the photos posted I thought it was located in the middle of the woods somewhere- no! It is right on rt 260. There are restaurants and bars next door, across the street- Circle K is 3 doors down!!! The office is super friendly. The setup is fantastic with a playground for the kids and there is a LAKE in the back!!! Why 3 stars???? Honestly from the photos posted online, the cabins look updated and clean. Well, unfortunately, some of the cabins are NOT updated and unfortunately, I ended up with one of those cabins unknowingly. I was given cabin #2 which has a queen bed, full bath, wood stove & full kitchen. Unfortunately, the kitchen was in bad shape. The stove had foil wrapped around the burners, the front left burner didn't even work. The pots and pans were mismatched and also in bad shape. I might be used to higher standards cause instead of a cozy stay in a cabin by the lake, I started to feel like I was a hillbilly in the mountains- the baking pan I used to bake my son's pizza had rusts on it. It was a bit gross. And the towels in the kitchen & given to us for the jacuzzi was really old and threadbare. Motel 6 has higher standards. The location is prime, the setup perfect for families I think it's worth it for the owner to remodel all the units and bring in matching kitchen ware and better towels. If everything was updated and in excellent working condition, I think people will still book the cabins even with higher prices. Next time, I am def booking cabins 15-18. Next time, I hope all the units are updated so no one is grossed out and disappointed!!! read more

As advertised. Stayed here for 2 nights during a training run/race in August. It's a great location. Walking distance from many restaurants and coffee shops. The owner was there and checked us in. He was super nice. The wifi was really fast. Cleaning people were nice and efficient. Used the hot tub after the race and it worked great. This was our second stay and instead of being in the motel side we rented for just a little more a full adorable log cabin; #18 which we loved. It was a one bedroom with bathroom that has a full tub/shower, living room and kitchenette. The room has air-conditioning if needed. It was roomy enough for the two of us and fully stocked for all of our needs plenty of nice clean towels and nice bedding and a comfortable bed. The only problem I could see would be if you are tall the shower head was the perfect height for my 5' frame but my husband who is 5'8" had to raise the shower head as high as it would go to be able to wash his hair. Cabin 18 faces the meadow so it was serene sitting out on the large porch just looking out into the countryside. The Double B is close to all the best restaurants in the area so it is very convenient and its economical. read more

We went here for the first time from the recommendation of friends of ours we were extremely pleased with the cabin that we stayed in we had an issue with bees on the deck the owner came right out and took care of our problem very nice gentleman to talk to we will be going back. read more

My wife and I booked our visit online. The rates were reasonable for a room with a kitchen and two queen beds. I checked in with the owner. Very nice/personable younger woman. The room was good-sized and very clean including the kitchen and bathroom, plenty of towels soap Etc. We bought a small dog and enjoyed that dog friendly coffee and food was all in walking distance. In front of our room there was a porch with chairs and a small table to enjoy your morning coffee. Homey feeling. I prefer smaller places like this over large chain hotels so keep that in mind when reading my review. The reason for our trip to Show Low was to explore the area as we are considering retiring here. We spent little time in our room. I can't give five stars, only because our room was at the very end, close to the street and on Friday evening all the tourists come back to town and there was quite a bit of road noise all night. We plan on coming back in the winter time to see what the area is like and I plan on booking with the same Hotel. read more

Stayed 2 nights in the loft cabin. Comfortable beds, warm heat and fireplace (bring wood). Bathroom didn't have outlet for hair dryer (just one in the light fixture that was not big enough. They loaned us cards and had games in the office. Very quiet even though right off a main road. Kitchen was supplied well and we drove less than a mile to good restaurants. Such an amazing and quaint place! Right on the main road in pinetop but never had an issue with noise. Great for a quiet, restful and romantic trip out of Phoenix! We rather enjoyed our stay at this cozy little place. I do have 2 complaints however. The first is 1 of the 2 beds were rock hard, The second complaint is we had a mouse in our room. Other than that we enjoyed the patio that we were able to sit on and enjoy the cooler temperatures. The hot tub was nice and the overall cleanliness of the place was good. Dont think I would stay again. "At least not in the duplex unit" as I am sure the mouse travels between rooms. read more

So, they have cabins here You can choose what cabin you want depending on how many people you have with you. We had three people (a couple and a single) So we ended up with a loft cabin, with two double beds upstairs and one queen bed downstairs. The furniture, sheets, blankets, rugs, etc all looked pretty darn worn. The heat didn't really work that well. The hot tub near the office is not impressive. But it served its purpose We had a fridge, a microwave, plenty of firewood and a working fireplace! And it was pretty cheap. Around $100 a night with tax n stuff. So yeah. read more

So writing this review for my sister because she does not yelp :) Her and her husband enjoyed a stay here and talk about customer service !!! My sister and husband went skiing and had lost their car keys on the mountain and had locked car with all their belongings. Long story short Melissa & Dan were the Angels and went above and beyond to help them out in any way possible . The rooms were cozy clean & affordable defiantly will be returning again . read more

We stayed here for one night as a random relaxing getaway. We were not disappointed! The room was clean and cozy and we really enjoyed it. Great little gas fireplace almost cooked us out of the room :) Close proximity to a lot of neat places and the jacuzzi at the end of the day was a nice way to relax! I really enjoyed our stay here. I'm not sure what I expected but this place surpassed our expectations. We stayed in a cabin in December. It was clean with newer furniture and it didn't smell like smoke which I appreciated since so many motel rooms do. The cabin has a separate bedroom, a small kitchenette (no oven) and small living room with gas fireplace. It's VERY COZY. We saw a spa/hot tub in the middle of the grounds outside under the elements but we weren't sure if it worked and honestly it was too cold to use it if it did. The only negative was at the end of the trip when I undid the sheets, like I normally do, and found some kind of poison, maybe rat poison? There were also some little black droppings (?) next to the pellets... this was a little dis-concerning but since we didn't see any lil creepy crawlers around we are going to assume it's hopefully for a preemptive strike and not some kind of problem. Overall we liked it and would consider coming back. read more

My wife and I spend our anniversary at Double B and have for about 10 years now. Location is perfect, close to everything, but you feel like you are away from it all. Hands down one of the BEST resorts for cabin rentals in Pinetop!! As a small business owner, I am particular about service and accommodations, and the Double B Lodge is well worth the money!! What a great place! Far better than the traditional hotels and motels in the area at the same price. I stayed in one of the cabins. Was very roomy. Had a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. It says it sleeps 3 or 4 so I assume that the sofa opens up into a bed. The bed was very comfortable with soft pillows. There is a gas fireplace in the unit. Is a large open common area that kids can play around in. There's also a Jacuzzi for winding down in the afternoon. The owner was extremely helpful in mapping out some great motorcycle rides. The patio on the porch which seats 6 people including a patio swing. It's very close to the restaurants that I also reviewed here on Yelp. I'm already planning my next trip to come up and stay in this cabin for more than one day. read more

The cabins themselves are sweet. It's the staff that we felt were incompetent and the owners were unwilling to be reasonable. We rented 7 cabins for our weekend wedding. The day after the wedding my daughter had to drive back home because her baby was not doing well. We asked for a refund for her 1 night. The hymmed & hawed...acting like this was a real crisis. They knew they made a bunch of money off us that weekend and could have been kind & refund that one night. Within 1/2 hour of canceling my daughters cabin another family member, unaware, booked their cabin for 1 more night. This CLEARLY made up for their loss on my daughters cabin. They easily could have found some kindness in their hearts to refund us. Rest assured, NONE of the 25 people that stayed there will be returning!! read more

A cute little cabin but we found several hairs under all 3 bed sheets. The owners were very reluctant to change them and took no responsibility for the dirty sheets. They blamed the "cleaners" and repeatedly told us they were clean. We even ended up going to another hotel because they replaced the dirty sheets with more dirty sheets. read more

We stayed in cabin 3 the weekend of July 6-8, 2012. The host said this was their most recently remodeled room. The beds were firm and the carpet was plush. For the price it was an all around a nice place. The only cons I had was the water pressure sucked and the wi-fi didn't work in our cabin. Other than that I have no problems recommending this place to friends. read more
