At that time, I was out of town. My 18-year-old and 16-year-old went in for teeth cleanings. They never called my husband or me to let us know that our insurance was outside of their network. They were supposed to call us and discuss everything before proceeding with the procedure. They told my 18-year-old that they had informed us about all procedures and payment options, but they never called us. Now, the front desk is telling me that my daughter is 18 years old and can sign any papers, even though they misled her by not informing us and having her sign the papers. My husband was out of work for nine months, and we were on Molina insurance. We had just set up our insurance and received calls to make appointments. For my dental treatment, they called me three times to schedule appointments. When I returned to the country and called to confirm, they told me we weren't covered with them, and I could not be seen. They could have done the same for my daughters. It was only a three-week difference between my girls' appointments and mine. How is it that they could see my daughters, but I couldn't be treated? They made a mistake. They didn't inform us that our insurance was out of network for Dental Designs. Now they want to send the bill to collections, even though we are not at fault. The front desk failed to make everything clear. PLEASE BEWARE OF THE SCAM DENTAL DESIGN IS PULLING. There must be many older people who don't even know they are being wrongly charged or given incorrect information. Having a 16-year-old sign payment papers is wrong. Telling false information to a 16- and 18-year-old is wrong.

It's been a few years since our insurance billing issues, so I thought I should update my review…read more We haven't had any more issues with them billing our insurance since then. They have dropped some coverage with certain insurance companies, but luckily ours wasn't one of them. They have also had a lot of dental hygienist turnover the last couple of years, but they seem to have a full staff again currently. That's been tough for us because we had been spoiled with having the same hygienist for years and got to know them, which added extra comfort to an otherwise stressful experience. I've never enjoyed going to the dentist, but seeing a familiar face had helped ease my anxiety. We love the relaxing spa vibes in this office. It feels clean and comfortable, but not overly clinical like some dentist offices. They offer beverages in the waiting room, which also has a couch and fireplace, making for a cozy environment. We also appreciate that they can make a crown while you wait and watch a Netflix movie. It's nice not have to wait a week for a third party to make the crown and leave the dentist office with a temporary. The in-house crowns we're not something we've experienced before, so that's a huge plus! Overall this is an exceptional dentist office. They have a nice relaxing environment and have the capabilities of performing most dental services in-house. We would highly recommend.

Called back for my cleaning timely, Megan was the hygienist - so very polite and accommodating. She conducted the cleaning professionally and gently, offered to clean my retainers, answered random questions I had re: bridges and implants, even commented how nice my husband is, who had been in the week before. Afterwards, Dr. Wu performed an exam - expertly and efficiently. He asked after the family, gave insight on insurance, and offered information about restorations. Professional and friendly service, all around. The only request I would make is to consider occasional Friday and Saturday appointment slots - so much easier when one works full time and has family.

When I returned for my next due cleaning, the hygienist told me she could only clean 1/4th of my teeth due to periodontal disease and that i would need another appointment to complete the cleaning. Feeling a bit embarrassed for missing my regular schedule, I agreed. She then spent 30 minutes capturing the depth of my gum pockets because her aide was not well trained and could not record the measurements on her own. The dentist came and looked at my teeth and said I had a cavity to be filled and would need to come back for that as well. Total time in office including dental exam and cleaning 1/4th of my teeth - 1 hour. I came back for the filling which was done very efficiently (hence reason for not giving this business a "1" ).The hygienist then spent 30 minutes cleaning the rest of my mouth. Total charge for the cleaning and 15 minute cavity = $770! I made an appointment for my next cleaning and confirmed that these would now be standard teeth cleaning. When I moved my appointment back a couple weeks I confirmed - standard cleaning. When I returned for my "standard cleaning", I confirmed with the hygienist that this was a standard cleaning . She replied that it was periodontal maintenance and that once I had "periodontal disease" I could no longer have preventative maintenance and would now need periodontal maintenance which cost $150 using the Cigna Savings Plan, while standard cleaning was $90. I told her that I had confirmed that this would be a standard cleaning and that I was prepared to pay the $90 but felt I had been ripped off on the last 2 visits and would go elsewhere if they would not agree. She said that was my choice and I left without the service. I never questioned the additional appt but feel like I was totally taken for a ride paying $770 for 15 minutes of the dentists time and 105 minutes of the hygienist. This reminds me of when so many dentists were pushing the teeth grinding mouth guards. Now the periodontal disease is the latest over charging practice that is way out of line for the minimal increase in time that they spend. By the way, in my lifetime I have had gum gaps of mostly 2-3 with a couple of 4's. This hygienist recorded 4-5 all around my mouth and reported bleeding everywhere ( I have zero blood when I brush and floss). The dentist did a great job, but it seems their practice depends upon over charging for the basics.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience my family had at this dental office after being…read morepatients for years. My daughter was referred here by another dentist, and the referring office had already completed X-rays. Instead of obtaining those records, this office performed extensive additional X-rays that ultimately were not covered by insurance, leaving us responsible for paying out of pocket for imaging that was unnecessary. What made the situation even worse was the way it was handled. The office manager was incredibly rude and refused to acknowledge that my daughter had been referred when I asked why they didn't obtain the X-rays from the referring office, despite the fact that I had phone calls directly from their office confirming the referral. Rather than working with us to resolve the issue, the account was immediately sent to collections. After years of being loyal patients, I expected much better communication, professionalism, and customer service. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my opinion of this office, and we will not be returning.
