Semi-annual cleaning. Arrived a bit early so I could utilize the toothbrushes/mouthwash provided in the restroom, then sat in the comfortable lobby and used the free wifi to check email. Called back for my cleaning timely, Megan was the hygienist - so very polite and accommodating. She conducted the cleaning professionally and gently, offered to clean my retainers, answered random questions I had re: bridges and implants, even commented how nice my husband is, who had been in the week before. Afterwards, Dr. Wu performed an exam - expertly and efficiently. He asked after the family, gave insight on insurance, and offered information about restorations. Professional and friendly service, all around. The only request I would make is to consider occasional Friday and Saturday appointment slots - so much easier when one works full time and has family. read more

I cannot recommend this dentist office in good conscience and from my experience. I came here in the beginning of the year. Got a temporary crown for five weeks. That itself should've been a red flag. I assumed the dentist Emily Young had my best interest. I should've know at her lack of communication with me that she didn't. I told her I was aware of my gum disease and I know it's gotten worse. I expressed my concerns and let her know I wanted to get pregnant but was hesitant as I know my gum health affects the whole body. I was asked if I cared what my teeth looked like and I said no. I was then told that if I didn't care about cosmetic look that it should be "fine." As long as I kept up with my cleanings. I have deep pockets but they could clean them there. Unfortunately I was scheduled months out. Not a priority even though it progresses daily... I had gum detachment within two months of being seen here. While I was waiting for my scheduled cleaning. I was then told by another dentist how deep my pockets really are, referred to a specialist and told by specialist I could not get pregnant unless I wanted to put my life and child's at risk. To say I am hurt is an understatement. I've lost time, money and gained more dental trauma. In my opinion I say do not come here. read more

I can not recommend this dental office. I skipped a cleaning a year ago and when I was in the middle of moving my home. When I returned for my next due cleaning, the hygienist told me she could only clean 1/4th of my teeth due to periodontal disease and that i would need another appointment to complete the cleaning. Feeling a bit embarrassed for missing my regular schedule, I agreed. She then spent 30 minutes capturing the depth of my gum pockets because her aide was not well trained and could not record the measurements on her own. The dentist came and looked at my teeth and said I had a cavity to be filled and would need to come back for that as well. Total time in office including dental exam and cleaning 1/4th of my teeth - 1 hour. I came back for the filling which was done very efficiently (hence reason for not giving this business a "1" ).The hygienist then spent 30 minutes cleaning the rest of my mouth. Total charge for the cleaning and 15 minute cavity = $770! I made an appointment for my next cleaning and confirmed that these would now be standard teeth cleaning. When I moved my appointment back a couple weeks I confirmed - standard cleaning. When I returned for my "standard cleaning", I confirmed with the hygienist that this was a standard cleaning . She replied that it was periodontal maintenance and that once I had "periodontal disease" I could no longer have preventative maintenance and would now need periodontal maintenance which cost $150 using the Cigna Savings Plan, while standard cleaning was $90. I told her that I had confirmed that this would be a standard cleaning and that I was prepared to pay the $90 but felt I had been ripped off on the last 2 visits and would go elsewhere if they would not agree. She said that was my choice and I left without the service. I never questioned the additional appt but feel like I was totally taken for a ride paying $770 for 15 minutes of the dentists time and 105 minutes of the hygienist. This reminds me of when so many dentists were pushing the teeth grinding mouth guards. Now the periodontal disease is the latest over charging practice that is way out of line for the minimal increase in time that they spend. By the way, in my lifetime I have had gum gaps of mostly 2-3 with a couple of 4's. This hygienist recorded 4-5 all around my mouth and reported bleeding everywhere ( I have zero blood when I brush and floss). The dentist did a great job, but it seems their practice depends upon over charging for the basics. read more

Overall I don't recommend this place. Mainly because in the two years I went here I had two negative instances. First was the front desk scheduled me for a cleaning at the end of December (after I already had my two insurance approved cleanings that year). They're supposed to keep track of that stuff and let you know if this visit will need to be out of pocket or not, which if I had known I already had my two cleanings for the year, I would've gladly waited a few weeks till the new year for my next cleaning. Well they let me do it and then tried to charge me for it, but thankfully they realized it was their mistake and they didn't make me pay. But shortly after another mishap happened. This time they had referred me out to another office to go get X-rays on my wisdom teeth, which counted towards my insurance as a "oral examination". Nobody told me this and that it would take away from my next cleaning. So when I went to get my second cleaning for the year, they did it. But didn't inform me beforehand that it wouldn't be covered by my insurance.. they hit me with a bill and they said I had been seen elsewhere. After bunches of phone calls I figured out it's because the X-rays I had at the other place. I told them this is the second time they've not informed me beforehand about me being responsible for the bill, because again I would've waited had I known so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. This time they told me they would not take care of it, and I was liable for it or they'd send it to collections. The cleanings themselves were always good, the dentist was nice. I just can't recommend going here when the front desk is always messing up scheduling and costing you money unnecessarily, and not taking accountability for it either. They should be more diligent and inform customers beforehand if there will be charges out of pocket. I won't be back. read more

I'm so, so happy I found this place. As someone who has major anxiety when going to the dentist and also needed quite a bit done, I was dreading finding a new dentist who took my insurance. Fast forward several months, a couple cleanings, two root canals and many fillings - I've always been treated with genuine kindness and respect, their doctors and entire staff are friendly and empathetic. What a great staff at New Leaf Dental. Dr. Sipes is my dentist and I appreciate his friendly competent dentistry. But, New Leaf Dental staff goes beyond simply great dentistry to include total warm friendly patient care, including when my great dental hygienist made a change and was no longer available I received a friendly phone call giving me a "heads up" to Guard me from unnecessary anxiety with the change. My wife and I have been going to the previous owner- dentist in this office for about 20 years. Dr. Sipes retired and the new owner-dentist is Dr. Wolfe. I felt like they were trying to cover more patients with less doctors and staff. The hygienist was through and seemed to do a good job but maybe up against a per patient time limit. Doctors exam was also pretty through but I felt like he was somewhat rushed (number of patients per hour?) It is also an expensive practice. Given the overall experience I think we will be comparing other practices to this experience since we are changing Dentists anyway. read more

I absolutely love this detal office. Everyone is friendly, helpful and respectful at all times. I had my teeth cleaned today by Mary. In addition to cleaning my teeth she answere questions about cancer of the mouth (which I didn't realize was a problem for those who do not smoke or chew). She also took xrays which didn't hurt my mouth because she places them so carefully. Then Dr. Wu looked at my xrays and examined my teeth. I love that he is down to earth when it comes to what needs to be done. He will quickly take care of problems, but will not recommend things that are not necessary (my former dentist did this all of the time). The office staff are also curteous and informative. I came here today for the first time and was so happy and pleased with my appointment! I had a tooth extracted which is not always a pleasant experience but the entire staff was so nice and caring and made sure my comfort was taken care of! Dr. Wolf was very nice, and made my procedure as painless free as he could. I have found my new dental office! Natalia was very sweet and caring, offering me warm blankets or neck warmers while I was in the chair. From our 5 star review when Dr Sipes was there to 1-star now. Dr. Wolfe's assistant put on temporary crown that didn't stay on. After Dr Wolfe put the perm crown on the final bill was $200 over the written estimate, even though our insurance paid more than the dentist originally estimated. The only explanation -- the dentist made a mistake. Fool me once, shame on you (dentist); fool me twice (patient), shame on us (patient). We will pay the increased final bill but we are switching dentists. Beware! read more

I've had my fair share of work in my mouth, so I I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about when sitting in the dentist's chair. I've literally probably spent close to 500+ hours in my lifetime in a dental chair as I have an autoimmune disorder that's made my mouth prone to issues. I had my first cleaning and 2 crown preps this month with Dr. Wu and it doesn't get much better than the service and compassion that this office provides. I've had 2 dentists that I really love retire, which essentially brought me here to New Leaf. Another reason is that they accept my insurance, which is crucial when you get dental work done and need to stay within a budget for the year. The staff is super nice, compassionate, thorough with explaining what's going on, and helpful when explaining payment structure regarding my insurance company. The communication within this office is great, from the assistants, reception, billing, and dentist, everyone is on the same page, which is SUPER helpful. Dr. Wu is AWESOME, very thorough, provides great explanations of what's about to happen before he does something, and is GREAT at injections. I was so pleased they go the extra mile to provide a relaxing experience. Some work in the mouth can be very tiring on the jaw and cause anxiety and they do offer Nitrous, which was very helpful for the crown preps that were on the top and bottom of the very back of my tiny mouth, and this made the world of difference and allowed me to relax as I can sometimes feel a little claustrophobic and overwhelmed when people work in the back of my mouth. The prices are also very reasonable, so if you're looking for a new dentist, I can't say enough good about New Leaf Dental! read more

The best dental experience I have ever had. I appreciate how Dr. Wu explains what he is doing as he is doing it instead of me laying there guessing. I feel he is very competent. The staff are professional. I've had a handful of dental assistants and hygienist and they are all wonderful.The office is clean. This last visit I needed 2 fillings, they were quick, the anesthetic was not too much or too little. They gave me a warm neck wrap which was very comfy. I feel their cash pay pricing is competitive. I was very impressed with Dr. Sipes and his team. The care provided at New Leaf Dental is exceptional. I've previously worked in the dental field for 11 years and I've never met a dentist like Dr. Sipes. He has a great personality and it's easy to see that he truly cares about his patients. Everything went very smoothly from scheduling, no wait time, very friendly staff and overall care. Dr. Sipes was very gentle and explained every step of getting a crown. He took extra time picking the perfect tooth shade even though it was a back tooth. He also went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable during the procedure. The part you don't hear much about in dental is, the service. They always offer a warm neck pillow or blanket and the chance to pick your own music. This place is a cut above. From the moment I walked in the door to the time I left, I was treated professionally by five technicians and staff members. I like the way Dr. Sipes mentioned various services that might benefit me, but he didn't oversell them. Samantha, the hygienist, gave me great dental feedback and tips, plus she got out tooth stains that two previous hygienists at other offices couldn't remove. They pressured me to come in before my benefits expired for the year and have work done. Even though I work on call and the dentist only works 3 days a week I managed to get in. While I was in having the work done I told the dentist my crown was loose. He gave it an expert wiggle and said it seemed fine. Then in December I get a call telling me my benefits had actually been exhausted for the year and they would need another 5 hundred dollars for the work they pressured me to do. I did not use any other dentist this year so they either purposefully misled me or they don't know how to read a policy. My crown has fallen out and I think I swallowed it in my sleep. Although the staff and dentist all seem very nice I would avoid this place. read more

Independently owned by two very impressive, kind, and adept dentists, I have found THE dental office that outranks all others. And I would know- I suffer from severe dental anxiety, & after a year with these dentists and their staff, I'm finally getting the work I need done. I am so happy with them! It feels like a spa when you walk in, no "dentist" smell, you don't hear drills and machines, just a little waterfall and the very friendly staff. Best dentists ever! I think we've been going here for over 20 years. A couple times I have had to go to another dentist due to insurance changes and it just wasn't the same. I've always taking care of us anytime we've had a problem with a tooth or problem teeth. One thing I really like is Dr. Wu talk to you throughout the procedure to make sure you are feeling OK and you're not feeling frightened. This really helps. Our insurance is changing and so we have to change but we always seem to end up back here because no one is as good or gentle. Best dentist I have ever been too. They are not filling happy, meaning they really take care to only do fillings on teeth that truly need it ( to express the difference, aspen dental told me I had 14 cavities, and I wasn't able to get them filled at the time and two years later getting X-rays again I was told I only have 5 and they are very small but just past the enamel into the dentin ) they took care of my whole family. My young daughter who is 4 unfortunately had a very small cavity that needed to be filled and they treated her like a star! She actually has begged to go back to the dentist for two weeks even after getting a filling, (she was awake and only had novacaine) they have an epic prize box. Dr.Wu has always been so nice and warm from the first time I started going here. I originally joined as it was close to my job, and it was convenient. I have now moved jobs, and work in Portland but I am still going here because I feel like I am cared about here. My husband has now joined the clinic as well. Sandy at the front is super nice, and all the other people have always been very friendly. Dr.Wu takes the time to learn about you as a person. I have trusted their advise and all the work I have gotten done here has always been top notch. They take the time to make you as comfortable as you can be at the dentists.
