Our favorite Italian restaurant in Carlsbad. This visit I had the chicken and Gnocchi soup and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was homemade, lots of chicken and vegetables in the soup. Our server was friendly and helpful. Love the ambiance of the outdoor patio seating.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at Gregorio's. It was pretty busy but thankfully got seated on the patio with a 7-person group with only a 5 minute wait. This restaurant is a great family friendly Italian option in the village. The house bread and butter was just ok. Not my favorite as I usually prefer ciabatta or sourdough-type breads but it was ok. The caprese we had for appetizer was ok - I probably wouldn't get it again because it was nothing to write home about but it wasn't bad. We also got the fried calamari and I liked it the most out of the appetizers we ordered. The calamari plate was absolutely massive and was nice and crispy. For drinks we got a bottle of the Chianti. It was a delicious light body red wine that was very versatile and easy to drink. For my main, I opted for the scallop linguine. It loved how sour and garlicky it was! Definitely more sour than expected but in the best way! Good meal overall.

The drinks were beautiful and delicious, the service was on point and not over bearing. The Mussels were to die for! Everywhere I eat, and I see mussels on the menu, I now compare them to Gregorio's. So far, no one can compare. I look forward to going back.

3.5 stars. We had a reservation but spent time longer than anticipated time looking for parking. They were still able to seat us. The ambiance is quite casual. The service was nice. My friend ordered the sausage caciattore and I ordered the tortellini pesto sausage pastas. The sausage caciattore was excellent - savory, a decent kick, everything cooked well, so a great choice. The tortellini pesto sausage was not the best. I thought the pest would have been a little drier but the pasta was drowning in the sauce. The pesto was also creamier than I would have liked. The whole thing had just one flavor, which was more creamy than pesto. I got the individual portion but it was still a lot to finish. Once the oils started separating out the next day, the pasta was more manageable to eat. I wouldn't recommend ordering this. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu and the chocolate lava cake with ice cream and limoncello. The desserts were good. Limoncello was very nice. The tortellini downgraded this place from 4 stars to 3.5 stars. If they can make that sauce more pesto, less cream and more flavorful, this place is totally worth 4 stars or even higher.

"Once I thought I saw you in a crowded hazy bar Dancing on the light from star to star (Neil Young) On Thursday evening, in the one hour between 5:30 and 6:30 pm, the outdoor dining patio at Gregorio's went from a very sparsely populated tranquil space to a jam-packed crowded party atmosphere with plenty of hooting and hollering. After dinner, when we left the patio to exit through the restaurant proper, the inside dining rooms were just as packed. So, we can deduce that Gregorio's is crazy popular -maybe for their food, pricing, atmosphere, Happy Hour or a combination of things. Our server Brandee was very pleasant and funny and made us feel welcome. She started us off with a nice hunk of sliced Italian bread and a scoop of whipped butter. We went into the Happy Hour menu for two things. The first was a Tossed Salad for sharing at $9.00 with "Green leaf lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots, red onion, bell pepper, and marinated mushrooms. Served with house red wine vinaigrette". The second was HH Eggplant Parmigiana ($15.00) - "Eggplant fried & layered with cheese & tomato sauce" I went into their regular menu for Shrimp & Calamari ($19.00) - "Sautéed in our arrabbiata. Not breaded or fried!" The salad was very good and the HH portion was plenty for us to split. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her eggplant, but there were some improvement opportunities with the shrimp and calamari. Don't get me wrong, the dish had a lot of really good things going on. First of all, it was served piping hot! The arrabbiata sauce was excellent, with a deep tomato flavor, and plenty of spicy zing, and there must have been 8 ounces of sauce in that dish. It had 5 or 6 big shrimps there that were excellent. The problem was the rubbery calamari rings; they were a real disappointment and echoed some of the worst chewy versions I ever had. I mentioned it to our server, and she said "oh, were they over-cooked? I'll let the chef know". We had a very good time at Gregorio's that sure could have been better....

Ist time visit.. Dinner time 6pm.. We sat inside and restaurant was 2/3 full. Live entertainment outside. Party of four.. Had Fried Calamari (large portion but thought was a bit chewy and sauce provided was thick and hard to dip).. Bowl Gnocchi & Chicken Soup was tasty and excellent.. Half chicken and Sicilian also good, Spaghetti & Meatballs Tasted good and I had Fettuccine Alfredo w/Chicken which was excellent. Our server (Melissa) was friendly and did a good job. She forgot to bring wife's glass of wine, but did offer to comp the glass when brought to her attention; however as meal was mostly over we declined. Most portions of meal were half portions but I chose a full portion of the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken ($34). Price was a bit high for me, but regardless of half/full portions they were generous portions. I would definitely eat there.. Great atmosphere and if you sit outside they have great entertainment.

The shrimp and calamari dish in spicy red sauce was delicious and then main entre was the best eggplant parm I have ever tasted and that red sauce had a smokey flavor. Service staff very friendly and had great live music by the swinging Johnsons

This was my first time visiting Gregorio's restaurant and we came to celebrate an out-of-town friend's birthday. The ambience was good and we had a nice view from the outside patio. Being in the heart of Carlsbad Village, there's a lot of foot traffic and you can often enjoy good live music coming from Coyote's Bar. The wait staff was friendly, helpful, and overall attentive to our needs. The restaurant was clean despite being in the middle of dinner rush. I feel like there was room for improvement with regards to the food and drinks in general. A couple of us had to have our cocktails sent back because it was subpar and for a fine Italian Eatery, I expected the Eggplant Parm to be better. It was lukewarm and a little overcooked. We all did enjoy the chopped Antipasti salad and Artichoke & Spinach dip. Perhaps we'll give it a second chance at some point.

Their service is excellent and they have the BEST Meatball Sandwiches and homemade Potato Chips! Whenever I visit Carlsbad, I try to stop in for a Meatball Sandwich!

Great service by Mickey, on NY's eve for an early dinner - hence the 4 stars (5 star service.) Otherwise this Italian restaurant was a lot smaller and more casual than we expected. The food was good. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese which I really enjoyed. The spaghetti & meatballs and the pesto cheese tortolinnis were yummy, and the eggplant parmesan was good. They serve 2 portion sizes - the individual size was more than enough for each of us. One big negative for us is they charge extra to split a meal... we rarely come across this policy these days and never go back due to this issue.

Is it true, as suggested on your website, that you don't have Scotch on your whiskey menu? I suggest Clan MacGregor as a house choice since it's excellent and low cost, but many aficionados want Chivas Regal or a Single Malt.

Must be a mistake. We carry Dewars white label as our well. We also have Oban 14yr., Macallen 12 year, and Johnny Walker Black.

Yes it is located in the North east corner of the shopping center.
