We all have a restaurant we call when life is busy or the day has been long and the idea of putting a pot of water on the stove is enough to break you down in tears. For some, their choice is a fast casual place. For others, it's a local pub - if you're lucky enough to have one. For my family, it's Gregorio's. Since discovering Gregorio's in 2019, we have been ordering delivery and pickup at least monthly. On a rare occasion after a reasonable work week, we'll actually dine in. Regardless of the mode of delivery from their kitchen to our plates, the food is always delicious. Time and again, we've tried a new pizza place or decided that the new Italian restaurant is worth a try, only to bemoan having not ordered from Gregorio's while waiting for our food from said new place, or meticulously compared the marinara sauce to Gregorio's or longed for the Gregorio's salad with bacon while eating another place's mediocre Caesar. Gregorio's is our comfort food. As McDreamy and I both hail from Italian American families, our standards are high. But we place higher value on well seasoned food prepared with care than on fancy pasta shapes or elaborate dish presentations. Gregorio's reminds us of home where the meatballs taste like our grandmothers' rather than something out of a TikTok-inspired cookbook. The chicken Marsala repeatedly has us swallowing our tongue as my grandmother would say and the vodka sauce is simple perfection. When we choose delivery direct from the restaurant, the online ordering is super easy with past orders queued for repeat selection. The driver is always friendly and barring traffic usually arrives a bit before the estimated wait time. When we choose to pick up our order, the staff is friendly despite the restaurant often being beyond busy. Dine in is also good; we just have to remember to get there early on a Friday night, which usually isn't a problem because we are hungry. We recently tried to order from another pizza place only to find they'd shut down the service for the night (at 5:30!) We ordered pickup from Gregorio's instead and all exclaimed how ridiculous it had been to even attempt the other place. Gregorio's pizza can be as simple or as full of toppings, as you'd like. The crust is doughy but not overly substantial. For our family, several personal size pizzas and a few shared salads result in full bellies, happy tastebuds, and a no-stress evening. So now that I've proclaimed our love for Gregorio's, it is doomed. One by one, we have watched our local favorites close in favor of new, trendier, higher rent , higher price, lower food quality restaurants. So go to Gregorio's. Give them a try. Return for more (like we do.) Keep our local favorites in business and enjoy the delicious food. read more

Came with friends for a quick get together. I love their bread basket and yes I always fill up on it. The nice variety of garlic knots and breadsticks paired with a great marinara is too good to pass up. Split the Gregorio's salad and it was great and perfectly dressed. For my entree, I ordered chicken saltimbocca, but it came out literally as soon as my entree hit the table, so the pacing wasn't very good. Luckily I had enough space to spread out and eat everything together, but would have liked a few minutes to eat my salad. The chicken was pretty good; not as flavorful as I thought it would be since it came with a really small 2" piece of prosciutto. Not enough to split between 2 large pieces of chicken. I was already full anyways but not enough to pass on their homemade tiramisu; its heavenly. IMO it's not enough to share b/c it's so good. read more

Service was slow even with reservations. We arrived on a Friday evening at 655 and it took 10 minutes to receive bread sticks and 20 mins and another 25 minutes for the food to arrive to the table.. Food was not up to standard with expectations of the reviews written. Food was somewhat bland and seasoning was missed in basic dishes.Food portions were smaller than usual for an Italian restaurant Food presentation was ok and staffers were polite but should have been more attentive to customer wait times. We returned to Gregorio's in Potomac last week and their food, along with their service, is as good as ever. We both enjoyed their delicious and well prepared eggplant parmigiana, which was packed expertly and with care for pickup. The meals are appropriately priced and ready on time. So, today, we ordered delivery (through the restuarant, not a delivery service. 2 entire meals were missing. We couldn't get thru on the phone and when we did, my mom spent 10 minutes trying to explain to the guy that we were missing two meals. Finally - he got the point and promised to get our food in 10 minutes. The restaurant is 1 mile from our house. 30 minutes later, we get the food. The sliders came with NO meatballs. There was a container with nothing but buns. There was a container of meatballs that we assumed was part of the spaghetti and meatball order. I mean, seriously? How do you screw up the order twice?? So, more phone calls and waiting on hold, they finally agreed to refund the sliders. No free meal, or dessert or anything. Worse service ever and they didn't comp us a single thingle. Why did it take me so long to dine at Gregorio's Trattoria?! I came here with a few foodie friends for a moving away party and the whole experience was marvelous to say the least! The restaurant is located in the Cabin John Village in the heart of Potomac, MD. Patio seating is available due to COVID-19 and the tables are perfectly distanced from one another. A+ customer service, the staff were attentive and friendly. We were all excited to finally dine out and almost ordered out the whole menu! We started out with a few appetizers: calamari, bruschetta, mozzarella sticks, buffalo chicken wings, and mussels. I love seafood so the two antipasti that shined for me the most were the mussels and calamari. We also had two pizzas to share and both White and Margherita pizzas were delicious! For my entree, I ordered the seafood asparagus because I was feeling penne that day! I was amazed with how rich and tasty the dish was. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the shrimps were huge, and the sauce was on point. Gregorio's use fresh ingredients in their food directly from Italy. You can definitely taste it in their dishes! We all ordered a variety of dishes and everyone was very pleased with their meals. We ended the evening with tiramisu and chocolate cake! You can't walk out from an Italian restaurant without ordering tiramisu, it just wouldn't feel right. Overall, a marvelous experience with great food, amazing company, and good laughs! This is largely a neighborhood spot. The atmosphere is equally great for adults who seek a happy hour drink at the bar or families coming in to enjoy a weeknight meal. The service is always very prompt. The food, though, is mediocre/average, at best. It's nothing to write home about. It will fill you up, though, and you won't leave hungry. read more

This place is a hidden gem! I went here for a birthday dinner and the food was great!! I ordered a Salmon Caesar salad and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was so welcoming! The hostess and waitress treated us like family when we came in! My friend ordered the lasagna and loved it! They have booths and regular tables. They also have a mini bar seating area. This place isn't that big but its a great spot to go to. The food options remind me a little Italy. Pasta, Salad, even PIZZA!. When you pull into this strip mall, go to the right side in the back for some great Italian food. Gregorio's serves up some excellent pasta and seafood. We reserved for a party of 13 people after the UMD graduation and service was top notch. Despite all the outgoing orders at the front and the full dining room, the kitchen did not skip a beat, plus the pizza chef and oven at the front were going full tilt the whole time we were there. I was seated at the end of the table and was watching pizza box after box go out the door. There must be something in that crust. The menu is extensive covering just about anything you would find in an Italian restaurant, plus the specials of the day. As soon as we sit down, our waiter sets down baskets of thick homemade breadsticks and mini garlic knots, which were great to dip in the cups of marinara sauce. We were having a full sit down dinner, so we went traditional Italian meal. Start off with antipasti all around including mussels in white wine and marinara sauce, fried zucchini and some awesome fried calamari, which includes the tentacles (my favorite part). Down the table, we ordered just about everything on the menu. At my end of the table, we had the Salmon Rosé, Fresh Vegetable Linguini and the Grilled Veal Chop daily special. I also had the Seafood Adriatico from the specials and it was loaded with shrimp, scallops, cherry tomatoes and real crab meat in a light tomato sauce over angel hair pasta. An excellent dish that should be on the regular menu. One person in our group has Celiac's, so the gluten-free menu was a must. They even go the extra step to explain that they have a separate cooking area for their gluten-free preparation. Gregorio's really cares about their customers. I'm not sure when will be the next time we'll be back in this neck of the woods, but Gregorio's will be in the mix and definitely will try the pizza. read more

Absolutely obsessed! Heard about this place on Facebook, and had to try their rose Ravioli. The flavor was on point, rich, yet not overwhelming. Also got the Calamari Fritti which was tasty as well. The service (management and staff was amazing, the ambiance was amazing, and our server (he was humorous, kind, attentive and down to earth) Marcus was sooooooooooo sweet! I love how we were recognized immediately the host saw us. We were greeted right away and that means a lot to us. Our server was so sweet, He let us try the garlic bread tots!! A local FAVORITE with true Italian flavor. I have tended to stay away from many Italian places over the years, as nothing pales in comparison to real Italian food in Italy. We LOVED this place and will keep coming back. Food is consistently excellent. We came two weeks in a row and learned very quickly that there is so much more to try. We could tell almost every single customer was a regular which makes for a warm, community feel. Staff is friendly, kind, great vibe. No one rushed us out. We both had ravioli on the second visit- each with a different sauce- both sauces were incredible. The shrimp on my Cesar salad was perfectly blackened. Lettuce could have been just a tad more crisp, but I can overlook given the level of everything else. The food was delivered on time (Fern was even early) They provided the serving racks and the sterno to keep the food warm. I ordered the: Baked Ziti, Pollo Marsala, and Salmon All Griglia. We started off with the calamari which was very fresh and crispy! We also loved the complimentary bread and garlic knots that the waitress brought to our table.
