    Ravioli rose with chicken

This is the third Mamma Lucia that we have been at in a month. We haven't been at this location in a while. It was renovated since last time we were here with additional seatings outside. Our waitress was wonderful and put up with our quirky humor. On this occasion, we got ravioli rose with chicken, spinach and feta salad (side portion) and a slice of veggie pizza. Everything was on point. Mamma Lucia did not disappoint. Glad to see quality across different locations.

We've been coming to Mama Lucia's since they opened and I have to say it was very disappointing. Our waitress was wonderful, very accommodating and acknowledging the lack of attention to the timing of the food. We ordered Caesar salad, wedding soup, and fried ravioli as our appetizers. the Caesar salad came out very wet. The lettuce was wet, and the dressing had no flavor. I sent it back for the wedding soup. Prior to the soup coming, The fried ravioli came out and tasted like seafood in which my fiancé does not eat. We had to send it back. It was an edible. The wedding soup took a while, but will it eventually arrived it was very good; flavorful with a nice broth. I recommend putting Parmesan cheese in it and pepper Our entrées were good for the price point ($30.00 each). They give huge portions. I ordered the seafood MARE with vodka sauce. it was excellent. It had clams, shrimp and calamari. My fiancé ordered the chicken special with balsamic vinaigrette on chicken with asparagus and a large portion of spaghetti on the side. I have to say service was excellent. The place was pretty empty on a Thursday night and items arriving out we're very slow. I'm thinking the Fallsgrove restaurant has a little bit more attention to the details. Having been there in the past but our server was so sweet Her details to customer service were exceptional

This place is Awful from the door, smells like 10 day old DIRTY MOP WATER! The food is absolutely TASTELESS even the damn Tomato Sauce. The inside smells like that regularly I assume; because the cloth napkins smell like trash too. If you like this place- you are really nasty and don't appreciate food or the taste of it. Never again for me.

This is the pizza and salad I received tonight. My first time ordering from Mama Lucia. Totally inedible. The best thing was the spaghetti bolognese, which was definitely not what spaghetti bolognese is supposed to be but at least it was edible. I think the photos speak for themselves.

One full bag food only $33. Not bad. I understand mamma Lucia has daily special each weekday. I had been craving mamma's pasta. Just randomly ordered two of them. I like the tomato sauce. Only hope the restaurant will have diabetic patients friendly bread.

Solid pizza place. We got takeout and the food was pretty good. Good price for portion. We would definitely get takeout from here again in the future.

Went here for a late lunch & we had such a pleasant waiter. The kids enjoyed their dish so much. The calamari we got as an appetizer was surprisingly good; it was lightly breaded which is nice vs having so much oil with each bite. Their Cesar salad is also pretty good there. As well as the pasta dishes. They were definitely big portions. The area was clean and the music wasn't too loud which I can appreciate.

nothing to go crazy over. the food is good, not mind-blowing. the penne vodka is typically a fan-fave but my boyfriend had it yesterday and afterwards was sick with nausea, vomiting, chills, diarrhea, etc. he was the only one in our party to order it and the only one with this reaction. he also said there was hardly any prosciutto in it. the portions are pretty huge, which justifies the price. but if you have leftovers, prepare to see a thick, congealed layer of butter / oil on the bottom of the container the next day. service was fine but could have been better -- often left without water for 15+ minutes interior is bright and clean, there's a private room for parties, and there's a pizza counter where you can watch them make the pies. large parking lot.

What I love about California Fish Grill is that the food isn't overwhelmingly expensive, and with it being a casual spot, the wait wasn't long either. They also serve chicken, for the folks who are not in the seafood mood. I've been here a couple times and got the chance to try a few menu selections. On this visit, I ordered tacos: one cajun shrimp and one cajun fish. It came with two sides: rosemary zucchini and beans. I really loved my meal. Other menu items I've tried include the lobster roll, the branzino with Brussels sprouts and Mexican corn, and the Mediterranean shrimp bowl. I loved everything, but I'll probably vote for the lobster roll and Mexican corn as my favorites!

Finally got to try Chef Tony's on a super hot Friday evening. We actually had trouble deciding…read morewhat to try because there were so many dishes that sounded amazing, but there is only so much that we can eat at once. After negotiations, we ended up with the following: Goat cheese stuffed fig appetizer White lasagna w/ shrimp and crab (one of the specials) w/ roasted veggies. Italian style paella For drinks, my husband got the blueberry margarita and I followed instructions to "ask about our creative mocktails", and ended up with a superlative strawberry no-jito. (It was REALLY good. I want another one. Now. Hub's drink was also tasty but I liked mine better.) Of all the dishes, my favorite was the Italian style paella. Tons of perfectly cooked seafood in a delicious broth with angel hair. Liht and delicious. The white lasagna was also delish but the dominant flavor was the mozzarella; the seafood didn't come through as much with this one. But I absolutely loved the roasted vegetables it came with. Sometimes the simple dishes are the best. The figs were quite tasty, it's hard to go wrong with goat cheese. I think I get dates and figs confused because they weren't quite what I expected but I enjoyed them. The service was friendly and pretty fast. There are still a bunch of dishes there I want to try so I will try to get back on another date night before too long and order something different. Small negatives - it was a tad warm in the restaurant but given that it was HOT A.F. outside, I will cut them slack on that. Also, I wouldn't have minded a small amount of bread with the meal, maybe you have to order it and I just didn't notice? I'm used to a little bit of bread with Italian food so it didn't occur to me to do so but I would have loved to sop up some of the delicious broth from the paella with it.

While the service was friendly, the timing of the food was slower than expected. Our CT's Famous Grilled Caesar Salad arrived about 20 minutes after ordering, and our Crispy Thin White Pizza didn't arrive until about 45 minutes after we placed our order. I was also disappointed to learn that the Tri Color Cheese Tortellini had been removed from the menu, as it had always been one of my favorite dishes here. The CT's Famous Grilled Caesar Salad is still a solid starter. We also enjoyed the Crispy Thin White Pizza, and I liked that it was presented flat rather than stacked, unlike the version at Amalfi Ristorante. That presentation allowed the toppings and crust to shine, while still offering its own distinct flavor. I'd also love to see the Tortoni dessert make a return, even if it's only offered as an occasional special. It was a memorable way to end a meal and would be a nice nostalgic addition to the menu. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the longer wait despite mentioning our schedule and the removal of a couple of favorite menu items, this visit didn't quite match the experiences I've had here in the past.

I only went in here to grab some cookies. I was able to try four of them and my thoughts are below. All of the cookies were large. Peanut Butter ($5.50) - This was very good and definitely my favorite one tried. It was filling and the peanut butter that was apparent in the middle was nice and was tasted throughout. Wild Thai Banana ($6.50) - This was not bad. It tasted like an ideal banana bread. I am not sure what made it Thai as I was unable to figure that out. Coconut Chocolate Chunk ($5.50) - The coconut was not too overpowering, and I liked that combination with the chocolate. This was noticeably heavy too. It feels like a little slice of California in Bethesda, making it a great spot for a casual lunch, brunch, or dinner with friends. We started with the Potato Salad Deviled Eggs and Jalapeño Cornbread. Both were excellent, with the cornbread being a standout. Warm, flavorful, and served with a generous dollop of butter. For my entrée, I ordered the Herbed Chicken Breast Paillard, which was light, fresh, and well-seasoned. The arugula and lemon complemented the dish nicely without overpowering it. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the cookies for dessert. They definitely lived up to the hype and were the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The only area that fell short was the service. Our server was incredibly friendly, personable, and pleasant throughout the meal, but service felt inconsistent. There were several stretches where we didn't see our server for an extended period, which resulted in longer waits for our entrées and even getting a dessert menu. One example that stood out was when I asked for a to-go sleeve for one of my cookies. Unfortunately, it never arrived, and after waiting for a while, I ended up walking over to the bakery counter myself to request one. It was a little awkward because I was questioned about whether the cookie was actually mine before I could get the sleeve. While I understand the need to verify purchases, the situation likely could have been avoided had the original request been fulfilled. None of these issues were major enough to ruin the experience, but they did take away from what otherwise would have been a seamless visit. Overall, I'd still recommend Summer House Santa Monica for the atmosphere, quality food, and dessert selection. With a little more attentiveness on the service side, this could easily be a five-star experience.
