We took our newly turned 21-year old wine tasting for the first time - the weather was chilly but the sun was shining. It was a beautiful day! The service was prompt but not a lot of talk about the wines, unfortunately. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We brought a picnic so we had to sit outside. Got to visit this gem on our bnb trip yesterday and I must say the entire setting was perfect. It was football Sunday, so not many people there at all which was perfect for us. This was our first winery stop, as it was near our Airbnb. Easy to find but the roads are windy if you are a cautious driver. If you are not, you need to be on these roads. So fun! We weren't sure if we were in the right place as the small parking area looks like the loading dock and backside of an industrial building, but we found the signs and hoped the port-o-potties weren't for customers. We were directed to claim a table outside on the shady patio and ordered the tasting flight. We were generously spaced from other tables and it appears they take their Covid protocols seriously. The person serving was very knowledgeable but seemed wary of us or he was just annoyed. I couldn't tell which but Keetna's review is true, I just didn't take much offense to it. As long as he brought wine, and was polite, I would be too and all was fine. By the end of our hour visit and tasting experience, he had warmed up to us and all was well. We were able to cash out from just inside the building, as well as, use the nice air conditioned restroom, which was appreciated on a hot August afternoon. The view is beautiful. This had to be one of the most beautiful wineries we visited over Memorial day weekend. Breathtaking views of the vineyards stretched across the hill side. Wonderful sunny balconies to sip a glass of wine (guest house). Terrific hospitality and wonderful service. We stayed at Greg's Crimson Hill guest house. Great find and just a 10 minute walk down to the winery. Greg has a very strategic and scientific method to his wine making. You can tell he is very passionate about his art. You must try their wonderful jammy Zinfandel. It's the best in California. It was worth the trip.

The best part of visiting Lake County is now stopping in to the Gregory Graham Wines tasting room. On our first visit it was 102 degrees . . . . and their Sauvignon Blanc and Rose were perfectly delicious. And so happy to have been able to purchase their Rose in the specialty pouch. While visiting my parents this weekend we popped into Gregory Graham vineyards tasting room. It was a drizzly day so there were only a few other people tasting. They were pouring about 10 wines (!), no complaints here. The Grenache was a standout for me. My Dad stocked up up the Cab and Syrah, two consistent winners at GG. My two all-time GG favorites, Viognier & Zinfandel, were excellent as well. If you like the fruity style of GG wines, I wholeheartedly recommend joining the wine club. Here's why: I've never gotten I wine I didn't care for, the prices are definitely a value for the quality, these wines aren't easy to find in a grocery store lined up with the Mondavi, and you get the discount plus wine pick-up parties. AND, as I experienced yesterday, you can partake of the incredible case deals that pop up like $180 for a case of '07 Syrah or Grenache, & they'll let you mix a case. That's $15 A BOTTLE people! The Rose and Riesling were $60 a case, they were practically GIVING it away. If I hadn't blown my money at a crab fee the night before I'd be sitting in a packed cellar right now. If I had a cellar. And hadn't spent all my money. Be smarter than me, take your money, join the wine club, buy the crazy affordable case wines, build a cellar and live happily ever after. read more

I am so disappointed by this winery. The service was horrible- I arrived for wine tasting with a group, and the workers glared at us as soon we walked up. When we asked about the wine tasting, they told us to seat ourselves. The workers were not welcoming whatsoever, which immediately was frustrating. The server gave extensive explanations for about half of the wine we were drinking, but by the 5th wine all he said was "here's the cab" and set it down and walked away. We didn't stay longer than 20 minutes due to the cold shoulder and unwelcoming environment. Do not go here. read more

I have been living in wine country for over 30 years and In my opinion Gregory Graham is one of the best wine makers in Lake County. Their Bordeaux reds are rich and deep in character, and the whites are also excellent and well balanced. The Cindercone and Syrahs are my favorite. Most of the grapes come from their own rolling hills volcanic soil vineyards. They pays attention to details on both the farming and the winemaking side of the business. You often find Gregory and Marianne at the tasting room taking care of clients. Marianne is nothing less than charming. What a wonderful experience. read more

I visited Kelsyville for the first time a few months ago. While looking for coffee we ran in to some local women who gave us the 411 on the best places to visit. When one of them mentioned Gregory Graham they both started to salivate and profess their never ending love. Later on we chatted with a few fellow tourists who practically started talking in tongues when describing how good the wine is. Given the outpouring of support for this place we did make the drive and, I must say, the wine is fantastic. I especially love the Zinfandel, but everything was delicious. I am not a red wine girl. I would even go so far as to say I hate red wine. I haven't met a red wine I could take a second sip of. Ever. That all changed with this winery. We came here on recommendation of Walt out at Six Sigma. It was almost closing-time for Mr. Graham so we were worried he might be grumpy. Nope. He was quiet though. At least at first. While he will probably never be a super-star Customer Service Rep, that's okay. I don't want him for that. This man is all wine, all the time, and he is good. He is very involved in the local wine scene, helping vineyards and wineries in the area find their ways, with his truckloads of experience from Napa. He has the attitude that what's good for the local scene is good for us all (versus treating other wineries as competition) and I love that. We met his wife, his dogs, talked some shop (being from a wine-area ourselves) and learned some things about sustainable vine-growing and wine-making that we are bringing home to ask about at our faves in the area. Gregory Graham is all about the wine. Okay, they have some really wonderful dogs too. I have worked in the wine biz 25+ years now and have been in and out of hundreds of tasting rooms (have been a t-room manager, a restaurant wine buyer, etc....). Lake County is the next new wine frontier. Sterling weather for growing all types of wine grapes. Grape growing - knowing what to grow and where and how - is its own business requiring skill, patience and practice to obtain consistent results. Once good wine grapes are grown a skilled winemaker is needed to make the most of what the grower has provided. Gregory Graham is a skilled practitioner of both growing grapes and making wines. He's been practicing a long time and the proof is in the bottle. His solid wines taste great now and can also be laid down and given some time to mature. Go to this tasting room if you are looking for well-made wine. Aside from a friendly staff and nice dogs, the tasting room is inside the actual warehouse-winery. It ain't fancy (doesn't need to be), and isn't a party. Party-tasting-rooms have their place and are fun to visit, some of them have good wine too, but few of them have wine of Gregory Graham's caliber at these prices. A friend recommended Gregory Graham so my wife and trucked down to the south side of the lake to see what all the hype was about! They've got a small tasting room that seems like it is a converted office just inside their warehouse area. It's a little claustrophobic and industrial but pleasant. We had lovely conversations with our servers who poured us a range of wines including their Chardonnay, Viognier, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cab Sauv and Zinfandel. In general, I loved their whites. They had nice clean concentrated varietal-specific flavors with a hint of balancing sweetness. Great for a warm summer day or spicy foods. The reds were another story. All of them seemed to have that same hint of sugar which ruined it for me. The sweetness just masked out the lovely tannins and complexity that I tend to enjoy in most red wines. At times, I wasn't sure if I was drinking a dessert wine or not. They had a great case deal on their Riesling which I happily walked out with. I may come back again for their whites read more

Gregory Graham Wines are amazing! If you were a RunBauer Chardonnay fan from Napa Valley you must try the Gregory Graham Chardonnay because they share the same wine makers!!! My personal favorite is the ZIN, with rich chocolate BlackBerry and pepper flavor. It's a bit sweeter than other Zins I've tried however, it is truly an Amazing wine! You can also rent houses on the Gregory Graham estate property if you're visiting Lake County. Tasting room at simple but the surrounding vineyard countryside is breathtaking! read more

We did that and he did not have time for us even though he scheduled an appointment for 10:00 a.m. and we drove all the way to the winery (20 miles). If I were only allowed wine from one winery for the rest of my life, this would be the one. I love red wine, I adore Zinfandel, and Gregory Graham (the former Rombauer winemaker) makes the best. My family insists that I serve his wine for Thanksgiving every year--nothing else will do. I was never much of a white wine fan, but that changed when I discovered Gregory Graham Viognier. When I have a sip of his viognier, I think, "Why should I bother ever drinking another white? This is perfection." The one time I visited the Gregory Graham tasting room at Clear Lake, his in-laws were pouring. Such lovely people. read more

Hands down the best wine in Lake County! My parents live just up the road from Gregory Graham, and I have to practice self control to not stop here every time I visit. The wines are delicious; the vineyards are gorgeous... and if you stop by, you are bound to meet Mr. Gregory Graham himself. He is always in the tasting room talking with the visitors. I love this place. Small winery located near ClearLake produces some of the most fantastic wines. I love the Granache, the Pinot and the Syrah. These are all excellent wines. I have been a member of their wine club for two years and have never gotten a bad bottle. During the annual Lake County wine tour they have the best food wine pairing hands down. We love the quality of wines at GG, and the price point is another big plus. We live in the Bay Area and when we want to impress out-of-town guests, we take them to Napa Valley. When we want to stock up we go to Lake County, and GG is our first stop. You get to taste any 5 wines on a long menu for free, so we each chose different wines then share our tastings. That way we get to experience 10 different wines. We have never left with less than a case, and narrowing that down is no easy task. My wife absolutely loves the Grenache, but I'm a big fan of the Zin. The other red wine selections are wonderfully unique. We're not big white wine driners, but the chardonnay is excellent. These same wines would retail for twice as much if the zip code were one county south. The tasting room is tiny, but real -- absolutely no pretense. And I've had to turn down Greg's regular offers to help me carry out my wine. Where else does that happen? read more
