The tasting room is set in an old homestead with limited indoor space, but the covered porch and picnic tables make for a relaxed and charming outdoor experience. If you're up for it, the Pinzgauer Vineyard Tour is a fun way to explore the property and learn about the winery's history--we did it in early summer and loved it, though it can get hot, so come prepared. We haven't tried the hiking or mountain biking trails yet, but they're definitely on our list. Whether you're local, visiting, or planning a weekend day trip from the Bay Area, Six Sigma is absolutely worth the detour. Got to chat all about Nebraska and how his family ended up here making wine. What an interesting story. Kendall is a true renaissance man. Soon a group of friends and some wine members joined us. Had a lovely chat with everyone and got recommendations on hikes, restaurants, etc. And I got super lucky- It's restaurant week in town! The area is gorgeous. The tasting room is lovely especially with all of Kendall's stained glass artwork. The outdoor patio is super welcoming and if it hadn't been a cold/windy day sitting outside would have been awesome. I have been a member of this "Ladies who Lunch who Love Fine Wine" for 15 years and I was so humiliated. So, lesson learned. I called Mitch, the owner of Hawk & Horse and he did NOT offer any suggestions. I ordered a 2022 bottle and it had the same problem. Mitch is too cheap to sell his "fine & over priced wine" with a proper cork. Forger the 4K I spent with supporting a small business owner (only 13 acres) I will never get over the humiliation from these women who trusteed me.
