Terrible service. Mocha tasted awful, muffins tasted stale. The girl at the counter did not get food order right and blamed it on customer not speaking loud enough even though she had to change her order because the coffee shop was out of what she originally ordered. So how is it she heard the first time but not the second item? Also, did not get a receipt and the girl was argumentative. When I asked for a manager I was told he was in the restroom. Ten minutes later I asked them to tell the manager that he had a customer waiting and the girl said he was in the restroom and if she should hurry him and I said yes. When she returned, she said the manager had stepped out to get some supplies. Will never return, the management and staff are both just as bad. read more

Went to 2 different locations and both were great! The first one we went to was spacious and had great decor. The second one was smaller but still had several places to sit. The banana chocolate chip ball was great! All four coffees we tried were delicious. Definitely recommend. read more

So the woman said she would add the cream for me and I could watch to see if it was the right amount! what are they afraid of, that I/customers would steal something from a condiment bar? This hip coffee spot in Penn Quarter has a lot of options for my favorite drink - the cold brew! They have an entire cold brew menu, with great options like the Nu Brew (Nutella mixed in), the Honey Badger, and Smashed Pumpkins (which are exactly what they sound like). They also have other lattes (Hall and Oats, Fall Oat Boy) and plenty of breakfast sandwiches as well. They have a nice space in the store, as well as seating outside. My cappuccino was fine, the service was good. But you can't log in to the wifi without signing up for emails from the company. The business will literally not allow you to sign into the wifi unless you give them your email address. Additionally, they only serve bottles of water. This review is long overdue. I have been coming to the Gregory's in Penn Quarter just about every day since they opened back in September 2021. It is a wonderful oasis where one can work or chill in a relaxed/positive environment. The coffee and food are always amazing. My favorites to date are the vegan deluxe, hall and oats, lean green, cacao cherry bite, and the fall oat boy. Most notably the staff is absolutely incredible. In particular, Holly, Jess. and Secunah. Most hard working, friendly, and caring folks you'll meet. Very appreciative for such a wonderful spot in the heart of Penn Quarter. read more

The young lady working the register was very helpful and patient with me as it was my first visit at a Gregory's. Coffee and Kabob is my middle name. I got a salted caramel cold brew at lunchtime. It wasn't too busy. I pondered the menu for a moment and then someone took my order. Someone else courteously took my refuse from Seoul Spice. I have a sweet tooth, and the drink was a little too rich, even for me, but I gulped it down in no time. The straws are right there on the counter, easy to procure. I will definitely be back to try another drink on the extensive menu. I wish I lived closer and I'd come every other day. I'd try the food but Seoul Spice is right next door and I'm trying to fill up my loyalty card there. read more

Understaffed. Entered and the line quickly got longer and overwhelming for the two baristas. They looked stressed and overworked. One barista had to make a smoothie but they ran out of bananas so she looked flustered. The other just looked pissed every drink she had to make. They took my money (and tip), but didn't bother to make my drink. I ended up here because it was about 6 pm and Pitango and Compass were both closed. I was the only one in line, I paid for a small cappuccino, and in the more than 10 minutes that I stood waiting, 3 more customers came in for brewed coffee or food. The two employees behind the counter helped them first. Then after the last customer left, I was still standing waiting while the two employees spent another 5 minutes doing something with what looked to be a pail of processed syrup. The bakery goods were good here (chocolate croissant and rum raisin bread) and probably their lattes, as I got a cappuccino that was more to the taste of a latte. That said, my cappuccino was not what I expected and not strong enough to my taste- it also tasted like the milk was a little scalded. Staff also seemed a bit unprofessional, or perhaps they were just young. Some other factors that may or may not have to do with the service: it was Christmas Eve so they could have been rushed or more short staffed and it was closing time. Other factors: They clearly have a sustainable mindset with their leftovers as they asked if anyone wanted extra food, and either they, or their customers gave some of this to people who were sitting on the street in the cold. Staff did let people know of shortages, interior is pretty cute, in my regard, with the black and white and the nerd glasses theme. So my summation is I wouldn't come back first thing since my cappuccino was clearly wet (more milky) but I acknowledge other factors could have factored into the experience that day with the holidays and it being closing time. To their credit (for some people it would matter) they seem to be sustainably motivated for leftover food, trying to find people who would take it instead of just throwing it out at end of day. read more

I stated that I had been in the store for at least 5 minutes and that you must take my order. No go. I stated I just wanted a cup of coffee, again "no coffee, we are closed."
