We found this place on yelp. I am picky when it comes to pizza because its difficult to get a good tasting pizza with veggies. But this place is so so great. We ordered a cheese pizza with bunch of veggie toppings and we were surprised by the quality. It was much better than any pizza I had in last couple of years. It saddens me to be compelled to write this review because I wanted to like Greg's and have given the owner the benefits of the doubt in the past when our online orders got completely messed up and took a lot of phone calls and effort to get right. I chalked it up to human error. Now, however, the line has been crossed and I will NEVER order there again. Two days ago, around 9pm we decided to choose Greg's over the competition down the street and when we went online to order, we were happy to see a deal for a free cheese pizza if we ordered more than $40 worth of food. We went for it and saw 'free cheese pizza' or something like that, listed in our cart. When no cheese pizza arrived, I called the owner the next day, even texted him our receipt. His response was "did you order online?" I said yes. The he asked me which website! I don't know, the one with the offer for free cheese pizza when you order $40. He kept arguing with me and I just told him to please have the pizza delivered to us as promised when we ordered, by 5pm yesterday (we live down the street) or I would share my horrible experience on Yelp! and my local Facebook group. And that I would never order from him again. No pizza ever arrived, so the owner made his choice and I have made mine. I support our local businesses in every way but choose places that appreciate my business and keep their word to their customers. Their food and prices are good but their customer service is the worst. And in my opinion, their pizza offer is a SCAM. If I wanted to call the BBB or Attorney General with my receipt, I guarantee I would get my free pizza. But time is money and this review is all the time I have. I have eaten here twice now and honestly I can't wait for my next beach trip so I can go again! I'm the type to eat everything but the crust, but their dough is....buttery, crispy...so good! Living near Boston, there's great pizza options, but nobody beats the value and quality of Greg's...and their tenders are bomb! I've tried teriyaki and sweet chili so far. Sweet chili was my fav! Can't wait to try more. And they were so nice when I went inside so that's always a plus :) I'll try to take pictures before I inhale my food next time. read more

I've been ordering a pizza around once a week from these guys. I have no complaints about the pizza-- it's not amazing but it's also not bad. Here's the problem: last week I placed my usual pizza delivery order, and here's what happened: The delivery guy walked right past the front door AND the side entrance (I'm in a house with numerous apartments within it.) What did he do beyond that? He went around to the back of the house, went up one flight of outdoor stairs, and then pushed my bedroom door open while I was getting dressed. DIDN'T EVEN KNOCK FIRST. Greg's is so good. I'm super picky, but I personally have never had anything less than excellent food. Especially like that you can choose either regular or sweet pizza sauce depending on what you're in the mood for. Delivery is always accurate, earlier than anticipated, and the quality is surprisingly top-notch considering just how many items they have on the menu. If you like lamb, they do great lamb tips over a Greek salad-- perfectly cooked and not gamey or muttony at all. Ok. Let's get this out of the way...even in a town absolutely stuffed to the gills with Sicilians, you're not going to find any pizza or Italian restaurants that are going really blow your hair back. That being said, for a Saturday I-don't-really-want-to-cook night...Greggs is great. It's still New England style (e.g. Pan cooked and super dense) but the crust is pretty light and flaky and they use good quality toppings and sauce. The chicken wings are good (again relative to the competitors) but really, really salty. Blue cheese is AWESOME; this is the magnifier for all pizza joints. Overall, you're not going to find too many pizza joints better in Gloucester, and a whole ton worse. read more

I've noticed a decline in their quality of food but I always kept ordering because of the online ordering abilities but today was my last straw. I wanted fried haddock and some how they got that I wanted baked it was probably an error and I like baked haddock and would have eaten it ...... if it wasn't covered in grease and it was cold so the grease harden a bit gross!! Just got a delivery from here. Good timing and their prices are notably decent! Got the specialty "Rustic" pizza.. Delicious!! Also got a finger 3 way ( American, mayo and bbq sauce ) and added lettuce and light pickles. The sub itself is good and my only complaint is that, visibly, there was no barbecue sauce on it, until I dug under the fingers and saw the mayo was slightly brown. Very very very light barbecue, but I think maybe whoever wrapped the sub just forgot to put some more on top or something of that sort (I hope! ) Despite that little hiccup, I will definitely be returning. read more

This is some of the worst customer service in Gloucester. Not only are the owners rude but so isn't the rest of the family. I don't understand how people can be so rude when you're giving them business. Also what makes it worse is when they are rude to you when they have completely messed up the order you've been waiting for forever. 9 times out of 10 they are always mistakes. And speaking of waiting be ready to wait at least a half hour for something as simple as a meatball sub where it's just sitting waiting to be served and if they make a mistake be ready to waste another half hour. If it's delivery you've just wasted hours of your day. And hungry at that. The are many great places for pizza and subs in Gloucester this is definitely not one I would reccomend to anyone! Continual poor takeout service. The staff must not talk to each other. More than once we have ordered only to wait over an hour and then have them say they never received the order. Or even when we call and confirm the same thing happens. It is a poorly run place with very basic food that you can get much better quality of at similar local places.
