To start the woman on the phone had absolutely no personality and if I had to guess she hates her job. With that said we went to Sebastian's because we are in town and their pizza was a staple of my growing up. Never did it fail if someone in our family died, not 2 hours after Sammy and Cathy hearing there was 20 pizzas being delivered to the door out of pure sympathy. I was looking for some nostalgia but what I got was a Digiorno box pizza with Sebastian's famous sauce (the sweet sauce). So I ordered a large pepperoni and went to pick it up in 30 minuets. I pulled up to the curb and my son went in. When he came back to the car he said "I don't think that woman likes her job". Not great that the customers see it. The pizza dough like I said was large like a digiorno supermarket pizza. The cheese was plentiful maybe a little too much. Now for the pepperoni. Everyone wants more of everything but with pepperoni too much becomes a greasy mess. The pizza undercarriage was non existent. It flopped and everything followed and all you were left wiry was a soggy piece of crust with sauce on it for your first bite. Sometimes you just have to come to the realization that some things are just gone. For something good to say the salads were the bomb just to show this isn't a bias review. I really used to love this place but we just got the most disgusting pizza from Sebastian's (3 strikes and they're out.) There must have been a least 1/2 can sliced black olives on it and almost as many mushrooms. Super sloppy with raw crust on bottom. Such a shame. Used to be our go-to pizza parlor. Schiacciata: for the win Learned a new food today. Never heard of schiacciatta... and man do I wish someone told me sooner. It's a cross between a calzone, pizza, and sandwich. It's a 10. And I don't give out 10s easily. Crispy focaccia bread... delicious cheese and Italian meats, a nice oil and seasoning .... Served warm. One is enough but I want 10 Absolute work of art. Touch and go. If you go there when the owner is making the pizza, it's great. If she is not there, don't go. My experience has been disappointing. I've eaten here one hundred times, if not more, and I just have never gotten used to two things: the sweet sauce and the undercooked pie. I always ask for a "thin crust we'll cooked" and I always get the pizza home with a sloppy raw middle. Why? So I either put the pizzas back in my oven or we let them completely cool and eat after the cheese has hardened. Recently we have been getting take out a Santarpios in Danvers. It's a hike and the pizza is only warm when we get it home, but omg is it fabulous. We get three pizzas and it's less Than Sabastian's. I'd hoped that new ownership at Sebastian's would have changed the sauce, but apparently there's a huge following and I'm glad for them. We only ate there so often because we lived on Summer Street, so 50 yards away, and all other pizza in Gloucester is junk. Santarpio's is the benchmark along with Flatbreads. read more

I grew up going to this pizzaria. I love it. I think the taste has stayed pretty consistent although maybe the sliiiightest reduction in quality. I still think it's delicious. I still love eating there and chatting with the current family that owns the place. NOTE that this is a thicker crust/bready pizza. Thick layer of molten cheese that will burn the roof of your impatient mouth. Slightly sweeter sauce. It's definitely a different type of pizza than you may be used to. Besides the ocean and sea breeze, the one thing I miss living away from Gloucester now is the great sweet pizza and sub shops. I can't manage to get comparable subs anywhere in this area and there's no where that I've found that serves sweet sauce pizza. I was visiting my mother and we needed pizza so my first thought was yes, we can order from Sebastian's! I haven't found a good up to date menu anywhere online but they have every topping you can think of. I called in and got a large with mushrooms, kielbasa and artichoke hearts. It was done on time and huge. No complaints from anyone - we all enjoyed the delicious toppings and sweet sauce. Their large truly is large - I think we had 8 slices and only $16. This sauce is fantastic. I've never met a sauce lighter or sweeter in all the pizza history of my life. It almost tastes as if it's sweetened by cane sugar or pineapple juice. This place has been around forever. While it takes a minute to get used to the sweet sauce, it mixes quite well with the generous cheese, airy and stretchy, lightly crunchy crust and if something different is just too much for you - go light on it. The staff has always been really nice, even when they are slammed. The delivery has always been somewhat on time. Their salads are fresh and well made. I ordered a large cheese pizza and a large garlic cheesy bread for delivery. The cheesy bread comes in pizza form with sauce on side for dipping. The cook obviously used small pizza doughs and attempted to make my large orders with them. They were so stretched out and overcooked and swimming in grease. The tops of both were dark brown and bottoms burnt. You couldn't decipher where the crust ended and the cheese started. I cannot fathom the cook and counter people sending that order out the door believing it was edible. 30 dollars down the garbage disposal. Shame read more

Only got a mini pizza from here. I thought the pizza was pretty good, a place that has sweet sauce for their pies. The pizza I got was a thick crust, more like a bread loaf almost. The guy I ordered with got a size up, and his looked more typical of a pizza. I had a slice if his, I found I actually liked the thicker crust. Point being, pizza is inconsistent. read more

My wife and buddy just haphazardly stumbled upon Sebastians the other day after skipping over Mexican for some unknown reason. It was fantastic! Their Arancini (Italian rice balls) where the best I have ever had. What I had was made fresh made that day and not salty. You don't feel like you biting into some overly spiced product like would find in Faneuil hall or a mall. The Sfinciuni (Sicily pizza) was great authentic taste, something that I have not tasted since being in Palermo Sicily. It light with a fresh dough and killer even with coffee. The place is small with just a handful of tables and real mom and pop-ish. Uber-Uber care free vibe... Looks like one of tables completely resided to just pizza boxes.
