We live nearby, so we've been to Greg's a number of times. It's not much on decoration and most of the furniture is pretty worn down, but none of that stuff really matters because I feel like it is what it's intended to be. It's a straight-up, no-frills diner, complete with the formica tables and red plastic oval deli baskets with wax paper. The staff seems surprisingly friendly considering the fact that they keep the place at about 90 degrees. Is the A/C broken? I'm not sure. My wife and I finished less than half of our meal before boxing it up and taking it to finish at home since we had started sweating before we had even gotten our food. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere of Greg's Place Wings. This is a family owned restaurant that has been open for 16 years in July. I went twice, both times with friends and the service was excellent both times. The food was great and more affordable than the leading wing restaurants. The only thing I didn't like what that they were not open later, which I understand since they are family owned and labor is hard to come by, but that doesn't help me when I get off work at 11 and have a craving for some wings. I've read many reviews gushing over Greg's, so one afternoon I visited with a friend who's a regular. Inside is quite simple, bordering on rustic, and that's not a bad thing at all in my book. Plastic table cloths and wood chairs consists the decor here. We ordered 20 wings, ten medium and ten Spicy Mango flavored. Our orders came and the pieces were on the small side, but I'm not complaining. Might be weird, but I prefer my wings a little smaller rather than gigantic drums and flats. And speaking of which, there was a healthy mix of both. The "Medium" flavored portion was devoid of any level of spice or heat. It just seemed lightly dipped in buffalo sauce. The "Spicy Mango" (read: Mango Habanero) had just a hint of sweetness and very little kick to it. The meat itself tasted good and wasn't overcooked, but sorely lacking in spice. I have been bringing my family to eat at Greg's Place for several years and am always looking forward to going back. The wings are always a hit, and they have several sauces to choose from. My favorite is the Carolina Barbecue sauce, a sweet mustard based sauce with a hint of spice. They always have steak specials and we have never been disappointed. If you've been looking for one of the top three wing places in Orlando. Here it is at the corner of Chickesaw Trail and Curry Ford nestled in a sub appealing strip mall next to a nails parlor. When you walk in don't expect any frills. It's bare bones a few booths couple of tables and a bar where they serve bottled beer out of a cooler. You'll see and hear everyone in the restaurant where it can fill up around the dinner time rush. If you walk to the back (four steps) you will see greg all alone in the kitchen and what I believe are his wife and possibly daughter working the dining room. There is a constant flow of carry-out orders being picked up at the front. The vibe inside feels like a Soviet Key West only because of the simplicity of the restaurant and what wall art there is consists of some UM Memorabilia and a few pictures of the beach. I highly recommend the wings. The sauces are all made to order and most are worth a try. Don't forget the burgers and pretty darn good as well. He also serves steaks and usually a fried fish special (last was Fried Alaskan Swordfish, maybe), both are top notch. Just beware it closes at 8 pm on most days and 8:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. This has been my go-to place for wings since I moved to Orlando two years ago. The wings are huge and the sauces are super tasty. My favorite sauce is Hot Garlic, solid amount of heat with minced chunks of garlic mixed in, amazing flavor on these. At this point I've tried all the flavors and liked them all. The grilled flavors are delicious, some come in a rub form. They have really good seasoned curly fries as well, I wouldn't suggest getting them to-go however as they're best fresh. The buffalo chicken sandwich is really good as well, it's dipped in wing sauce and super crispy. In five years of living in Orlando, Greg's Place has the best wings I've found in town. Every sauce and rub I've had has been flavorful and satisfying, the variety allows li to hit many notes, tangy, sweet, spicy, hot and savory. Me and my buddy each got a beer because if lilt was our day off, ya know? While they only had one beer on tap, it was cold and crisp. I got the hot garlic wings, extra crispy with blue cheese. Now I don't want to sound pretentious, but I consider myself a Buffalo wing connoisseur. My mom is from Buffalo and I have spent my whole life eating chicken wings. I've seen some great wing places come and go in Orlando, but Greg's was one of the best I've had in this area on this particular day. The wings were big, fresh, and hot. The meat was super moist and was steaming as you bit in to it. The extra crunch perfectly matched my request from extra crispy. The wing flavor was great. Hot but not too hot. Plus they used real garlic (which is an absolute must, any restaurant that uses garlic powder on their wings instead of real garlic immediately loses respect).
