It was fate. I have just found my new "go to" mechanic, Tino. My 2005 Saab 92x had over heated on my way to work so I stopped in after work to get the coolant and oil topped off. When the checked the levels they discovered that my car's radiator was cracked and leaking. It's never easy to hear that your car needs emergency work, but I'm thankful that instead of just letting me buy the coolant and oil, they offered to fill them for me. Had they not helped me, I might have damaged my car from driving it with a broken cooling system. I've been having nothing put trouble with my 2005 Chevy Tahoe for a couple of months it all started with the Reduced engine power light going on took my truck over to the Chevy dealer in Burbank was told every time nothing was wrong, i don't think they wanted to deal with it but they had no problem taking my $$$ every time A friend at work told me about Greg's Tune Up Burbank CA he cleaned out my Throttle Body that was really dirty reset all my codes and my truck is running better then ever i will definitely be using him on all cars He's a Great mechanic!! read more

This place is so great! I called to see if I needed to make an appointment and the girl on the phone was so sweet and super helpful! I luckily didn't need an appointment and could bring my car in whenever worked best for me. When I got there all the workers were so friendly and I was able to drop my car off and request when I wanted to pick it up. They later called to give me an update on my car which I really appreciated then called when it was ready. Everyone in my family comes and I highly recommend it to everyone! read more

I am very disappointed in the owner. These guys tuned up my car 10 months ago and installed new spark plugs. Recently my car had a misfire. My neighbor is a dealer mechanic and he traced the misfire to a bad spark plug. He tried to remove it to inspect it. He said that the spark plug would not turn at all. He told me that when the mechanic installed the new spark plugs, he cross threaded the plug. He told me that the head would have to come off and I should take my car back to gregs to let him repair the bad plug. The owner told me that I could not prove his mechanics caused the problem. I told him that No one has worked on my car besides his shop since the plugs were installed. The owner told me that he was not going to fix the bad spark plug and if I wanted to, I could take him to court. When I told him I will be taking him to court, he said "I dont care". When I told him that it is not right to treat his customers like this, he said " I dont care ". When I told him that customers can rate his shop and give him bad ratings if he does not treat his customers right, He said " I dont care ". He was acting like a little kid. Be careful dealing with this guy, he is not a honorable man. If you go to this repair shop, I recommend you check his mechanics credentials. I dont believe they are ASE certified. I will be filing a small claims suit. I will let you know how it turns out. read more

Brought my 95 Chevy G30 7.4l to Greg. Had stalling problems and irregular idle, Chevy Camino Dealership could not find the problem, said it is only adjustment of timing, wanted to charge me 320 $ for it! A job that takes 30 minutes. I had that checked before with an indie mechanic and it was set on the manufacturers 4 degrees. I did not trust Chevy Camino and was right. A friend recommended Greg who looked at the car and said he can not promise anything, it is an old engine and there are literally dozens of problems that can occur (vacuum, distributor, plenty of sensors, fuel system, Computer, etc). However he opened the engine, did the checks and PC diagnosis, due to some strange irregular Errorcodes he believed it could be the Computer (expensive, around 650 $ job), said he'll order it and we'll try out, if it is wrong he'll send it back. I thought that is fair and agreed. As the part was ordered he did a last check on the fuel pressure and found it too low (pressure was on 17-20psi, but is supposed to be around 70psi). Before changing the Computerunit he decided to first change the fuel-pump, since this is most likely the problem. He changed it with the filters and was right. Problem solved. I did not ask for the old part but believe all has been handled right. Repair was 30% less then the Computer. Car runs the way it should. I liked his straight forward opinion and ongoing communication about every step he took. He seems to be a man of "old school" with professional knowledge and experience, pride and rare to find decency in this business. From my first time experience I can recommend this place. Went to this place to get a check engine light resolved so we could get the car smog checked. Was told by Greg, the evaluation would be $105, but that amount would be put toward the repair cost if we approved repairs. We went ahead with the repair and the "lady cashier" gave me three different prices for the total repair when I called to see if the car was ready. I argued with her about the evaluation cost, and she said they don't usually apply that cost to repairs. She had to call Greg because he was at the dentist. He confirmed what he had told me about the evaluation cost. She also said he was probably distressed by his tooth problem, and didn't know what he was saying. My impression is they, (she), will try to charge as much as she can get away with. I think Greg is probably okay, but I will not go back because of this lady! read more

I've had my vehicles serviced by Greg's Tune-Up for over 20 yrs. The service is excellent, and they are really knowledgeable and honest. I've referred lots of friends to them, and the friends also have only good things to say about Greg's Tune-Up. The owner grew up in the area, so if you need something done that this shop doesn't do, like wheel alignment, they can refer you to another competent local shop. I'd give them 10 stars if I could!!! Greg is a decent and honest auto mechanic. My RV had an engine diagnostic code that robbed the engine of power as well as some engine knocking under heavy loads. I took it to Greg upon referral of other mechanics who didn't want to work on my RV. And I'm glad I did. He was able to diagnose the problem which was a bad fuel pump and repaired it in a few days. We've been going to Greg's over decades for multiple cars. He and the crew are always excellent, always honest. My last visit a few weeks ago, was when I was freaking out over a check engine light. Greg said it probably had something to do with improper fueling; that can set the light off. He reset it and sent me on my way (no charge), promising me not to worry, that the engine was fine. Whenever the necessary work is beyond the scope of his shop, he has always had excellent recommendations of where to go. A great mechanic is like gold in this huge metropolis. This place is just a money grab. This guy is charging dealer prices and not delivering the goods. Had a problem after a simple oil change ( charged me $50.00 and I had the oil, filter and drain plug gasket). Soon after I discover I have a major oil leak from the oil filter and take the car back to him only to have him tell me that my engine needs to be rebuilt. He made no effort to try to find the problem and worse yet because he didn't think he could make a buck just blew me off and lied to me about the condition of my engine, told me to have it rebuilt. Upon leaving I called another shop which immediately saw the problem (a simple gasket) and fixed the problem for a minimal charge. This is the type of place you want to avoid people. Gives good mechanics a bad name. Preys on people that don't know much about cars. read more

I have used Greg's Tune-up for probably 10 years now to keep three + cars in good operating condition. Here are some of the observations I have made: 1. High quality work. To illustrate this: I had my son-in-law bring in his Ford pickup for a steering problem. He had previously been to 2 dealerships and 2 Pep Boys shops; none of which could identify the cause of the problem. Greg's Tune-up found the problem, explained the cause, and fixed the problem. All for a reasonable charge. 2. Clear answers. Greg is able to explain what is happening to your car in clear understandable terms. If you want deeper answers he can do that too. He has a lot of practical car mechanical knowledge. 3. Reasonable rates. He is reasonable - not cheap and not exorbitant. 4. Timely repairs. Usually the car is fixed the same day. If it is something major it may take two days. But I have not experienced long delays. I have been to a number of shops over the years and sometimes with good mechanics.
