I've found lately that there seems to be a lack of attention to detail here. I used to drop off the vehicle with a list of things and they were all paid attention to about 2 years ago. Lately in the last year, things I've pointed out and lists I gave for vehicles have gone unfinished and basics only done. There is something amiss to the spirit that was here and the ability to truly listen to the clients who sometimes know their vehicles more than the mechanics do. They seem so busy that this level of care towards a vehicle or the want to go the extra mile for these quirks is lost in the shuffle. My family and I have been coming here for 20+ years. These guys have always been accommodating, super friendly and transparent. I've had to drop my truck off or have it towed to the lot at various times and off hours, they've always been understanding and have solid good old fashioned customer service. Beatrice who handles the phones, billing and I'm sure everything else is friendly, straight forward and informative. It's nice to be able to speak to someone on the phone who I feel actually cares about my truck. The mechanic Tino is also awesome, you can tell he just knows cars really well and always seems happy to help, explains things well and enjoys his work. They're all great people, positive and welcoming energy to be around. Recent experience: My boyfriend's truck stopped dead on him due to the alternator. He had it towed to a place in Eagle Rock (first time there) where they quoted him a laundry list of repairs at over $4,700. I told him to have it towed to Greg's to get a second opinion. Tino took a look, repaired the alternator, put in a new battery, did an oil change, topped off the fluids and installed new wipers all for $800 and had it ready to go in a couple of hours. I had a troublesome problem recently with my check engine light being on most of the time with no obvious problems that could be causing it. The code was indicating a fuel mixture problem but yet the engine was running fine and the gas mileage had not changed. A few different things were tried and then system was reset to eliminate the check engine light, but it came back on a day or two later each time. Greg's knew who to call to make it right once they checked the obvious possibilities. They have specialists that can come in and diagnose hard to figure out issues. Who knew there were traveling specialist mechanics? I have a 2016 Nissan Sentra that I had to purchase an entirely new transmission for a year ago after my move to Los Angeles from Houston. Since that pocket buster, I wanted to ensure my car was at its top health as it has to last me. I found Greg's Tune Up and after reading his awesome reviews, I trusted he'd take great care of my car. I asked for the regular tune up. His diagnostic was HONEST and prioritized the care of my car FIRST. He let me know before hand that my transmission fluid looked good, and that instead of needing freon -- my cabin filter needed replacing (as it looked like it'd been years). I've just picked up my car to take it for a joyride, and I just HAD to call back and let them know they did an amazing job. At such an affordable price, at that!! I challenge anyone of you to find a cleaner shop. A mechanic shop that you can eat off the floor shows the pride that goes into each and every car. My first visit to the shop was several weeks ago when they fixed my 1998 Tahoe. They replaced my oil pan as well as a few other leaking oil hoses. After a tune up as well, I was back on the streets.
