Outdooor seating is available. First come first get of course. Not a bad option if you like the downtown people watching and the nostalgic odors of the earth. I ordered a blue moon and it was cold. Thats a plus. To eat, I ordered two sliders with fries. Let me first say the fries were burnt. However, played with the ranch dressing, which I hate ranch, it was great. The sliders were very good. Service can suffer because it often has just one bartender working who tries super hard but can only do so much. I came here on 1/30/21 with friends around 1:45pm. We only came here to have a drink or two. We had just ate at M'Coul's. One friend got a Red Oak beer. One for a Stella Artois. Myself, and two friends got a lemon drop. It was $13 for two. One of the friends who got the lemon drop thought it was really good. I thought it was okay. It tasted too much like juice and not enough of the alcohol. It was pretty empty while we were here. They have outdoor seatings. The ambiance was good. The music wasn't too loud and just right. I enjoyed the songs and actually knew them! We were signing along. GPD was starting to show up outside and we didn't know. We went in Friday and had diarrhea and vomiting the remainder of the weekend and barely held it together for work on Monday- I will never return. We started out loving this place for the food only but they get really weird when you bring you bring your kids so #1 it is NOT kid friendly and the quality of food is slipping. My spouse and I recently stopped by Grey's Tavern after a long morning and was directed to sit wherever we liked. We found a high-top table and ordered a couple of sodas. I was excited to try the food. I opted for a chili dog and side of fruit. I remarked to my husband that the chili dog had some of the best chili I'd had in a long time, so kudos on that achievement! It was seriously flavorful and when combined with the dog, it was excellent. My side of fruit was pretty large, which is rare for most restaurants these days. The pineapple, apple slices, sliced orange, and grapes gave me a boost of energy that helped me get through my day! My husband had a Reuben that he described as "very good." The ambiance was relaxed with TVs going and music playing. A few people were being served at the bar and we enjoyed -people-watching through the large front window. I have been coming to Grey's every now and again since I was 17! I love how homey it always feels. I was so happy to introduce my guy to this awesome place. There is a huge welcoming bar in the center and a few tables to sit at if you'd prefer. Everyone is always so friendly and willing to chat during lunch. At night time it's filled with music and people having a great time! On this occasion we had lunch! A Cheese Steak with fries and the Chicken Sandwich with Buffalo sauce. I had the pleasure to go here a month or so ago (March madness was in town) and met up with an old pal. Went during the day, around lunch. We shared the wings and both had sandwiches. The bouncers are extremely unprofessional and rude. I had been there multiple times before without any issues. Went in this past weekend and they were aggressive for no reason at all. They also threw things at myself and friends after we had walked out the door and weren't on their property anymore. They cause more problems than help. Honestly- pretty awful. There are so much better options to eat at. I do not recommend coming here at all. I've heard many awful stories (from reviews) of experiences people had and they didn't happens to me, but as a restaurant pretty awful. Starting off, the service is fine- the waitress we had was nice, and that's where the food stuff ends. I was given a cup with VISIBLE lipstick stains, and chose not to use a straw... for the environment. I only slightly regret it, but they should've washed instead of rinsed the cup. The waitress made a joke to brush it over (it's not her fault at all, unless she washes the dishes) but lipstick contains lots of oils, and soap breaks that surface tension, which is why it's a cleaning agent. That leads me to believe they are very negligent in cleaning dishes/cups or just don't use soap at all. I forgot what I got, but it was a burger that was good... at first, but when I finished it I realized there was nothing to be desired. It sounds very strange typing it, but it wasn't good even though I finished it. It was overly greasy and just like a filler. For example, if you were given plain rice or noodles and you ate it, you wouldn't be going back for more- you'd just be full (in a bad way). Another problem with this establishment is their extreme lack of vegetarian options. I believe there was approximately... 2? For the sake of my friend, I genuinely hope they food isn't pre-assembled, because she had to ask for the meat to be removed. The last thing is the bathroom is genuinely awful. In conclusion- don't go here... or maybe do, and regret it. I really don't understand the positive reviews on this. Just a tip- always go to places with 4 stars and up, because 3 stars usually means there's a considerable amount to think about. Also, looking at the bad reviews, it may seem nit picky about what they're calling out, but it's because there are so many bad things it just built to a awful experience. It had been awhile since we'd been to this downtown Gboro grill and watering hole, but when I realized they now had cooked-in-house pulled pork on the menu, we stopped in for lunch - you gotta follow the barbecue trail, wherever it leads. Have always loved the burgers and the hand cut FF, but the pulled pork was new meat, indeed. The pulled pork here begins with a Boston Butt, which is slow cooked overnight, until very tender, then shredded. The meat is very tender, fairly moist, but with no hint of smokiness - and, of course, cooked this way it wouldn't unless you throw in some hickory smoke, which always makes the taste artificial. The meat comes out on a large Kaiser type roll, and it basically is unsauced. Thet offer a vinegar based Eastern NC style sauce, but there is little heat to it - I found a nice dose of commercial hot sauce did a lot to correct that. The slaw is coarsely chopped - more sliced actually, probably with a food processor using a circulat blade attachment. The slaw has a lttle carrot in it, and is fairly dry, no mayo base here. All in all, this is not a bad choice - not strictly traditional NC barbecue, but quite nice in it own right, once doctored a little. The burgers remain excellent & large; the FF are among the best in town (hand cut with skin on), while the potato salad is decent - would be great if they used sour pickles, instead of sweet - personal preference, there. They also offer a hot dog, and what was interesting to me was that one version is with a "ripped" wiener - which means it is deep fried to the point that the outer skin actually rips in places - this is a popular way of cooking weiner in NJ (Rutt's Hut in Clifton), and some other spots in the NE. They use a 1/4 lb all beef weiner here, and though it is, indeed, deep fried, it does not come out ripped. Chili is a little thin, and lacks any zing - nice to try, but no repeat here. Service is excellent (at least at lunch) and always friendly. We have just been in for lunch - we don't do much in downtown Greensboro at night, parking on side streets, and dodging young inebriates is not something I really embrace as an entertaining evening. With so many downtown dining options and a more prominent pub (Natty Greene's) right next door, Grey's is easy to overlook. But if ever you should want a break from the bustle (and the inflated prices) of downtown dining, this low-key spot is worth considering if you aren't in a hurry. Grey's is nothing fancy, but the décor - worn wood, old brick, and lots of TVs - suits its ambition. This is a classic bar/pub/tavern, no more and no less. Accordingly, the menu is somewhat limited, but what they do offer here, they prepare competently if unspectacularly. I opted for a fried chicken sandwich my first time out. Though the breading was very crisp, the meat thankfully remained moist. The sauce (orange ginger?) proved to be a touch too sweet, but there were plenty of other sauce options available. The coleslaw here is finely chopped and none too vinegary. Only the fries were a real standout: thick, hand-cut, nicely browned, and well-salted. Servers seemed amicable enough, but the kitchen was decidedly slow-footed. Our group of five may have been the only patrons at one point, but you wouldn't have known it from the time it took for our food to arrive. On the other hand, Grey's pricing is favorable for a downtown location. Sandwiches and sides can be yours for south of $10. With a convenient location, reasonable pricing, and good-enough food, Grey's is a decent option for a casual bite to eat. There is room for improvement on several fronts, but Grey's does spare you some of the headaches (crowding, expense, pretension, etc.) that occasionally mar downtown dining. read more

As soon as I walked in, I got a stare from two of the waitresses or bar tenders that pissed me off. They looked at me and my two other friends like I was trash and like I was coming in just to sit.
