    Burger and fries.

Grey's has the best burger and fries in Greensboro! The burgers are big and juicy. The fries are crispy and made fresh not frozen. And the prices are very reasonable.

What a great little gem. I enjoy trying new places and finding gems. This is a good one. I ordered a Singapore sling and the bartender said he had never made one before. He looked it up and did not disappoint! So nice. I really don't drink much so I actually looked up common cocktails at bars. I offered to try something different but he insisted. It was fantastic and the memory was great as well. I will be back. The food was delicious and the people were incredibly friendly.

Greensboro is known for its bar scene. As it's a college town, there's no shortage of watering holes. But what's kind of a secret is that it's also a hyper-competitive bar food scene. If you're visiting, congrats. Because there are TONS of affordable options to soften the blow of your 11:37 a.m. double Tito's and sodas with limes. But Grey's stands near the top of the list. Their full menu is slammed with great options from burgers to hot dogs to salads to even hush puppies (do it do it now). And if you're looking for jumbo wings to send you through the space-time-flavor continuum, go no further. Grey's Tavern is affordable, chill, and delicious. Stop by on Elm St. and stay for a bit. Plus their karaoke game is ON. POINT. I'm gonna head out now and prepare my chilling rendition of "Love Will Keep Us Together" that I perform with myself after a few late-morning Tito sodas.

I came here on 1/30/21 with friends around 1:45pm. We only came here to have a drink or two. We had just ate at M'Coul's. One friend got a Red Oak beer. One for a Stella Artois. Myself, and two friends got a lemon drop. It was $13 for two. One of the friends who got the lemon drop thought it was really good. I thought it was okay. It tasted too much like juice and not enough of the alcohol. It was pretty empty while we were here. They have outdoor seatings. The ambiance was good. The music wasn't too loud and just right. I enjoyed the songs and actually knew them! We were signing along. GPD was starting to show up outside and we didn't know. The bartender stated that there is anticipation of a protest for a man killed by GPD in 2018! Covid wise, masks are required. The bartender was wearing one. They have hand sanitizer by the door. Tables are socially distanced. Uodate: I went to Natty Greene's following this visit and their lemon drop shots are MUCH better!

Burger was overcooked ...and chewy. Buns were NOT good. Too fluffy, way too much Bread. Mentioned it to the bartender and She didn't seem to care. Lukewarm draft beer. would not recommended .

    Delicious chili dog and fruit!

My spouse and I recently stopped by Grey's Tavern after a long morning and was directed to sit wherever we liked. We found a high-top table and ordered a couple of sodas. I was excited to try the food. I opted for a chili dog and side of fruit. I remarked to my husband that the chili dog had some of the best chili I'd had in a long time, so kudos on that achievement! It was seriously flavorful and when combined with the dog, it was excellent. My side of fruit was pretty large, which is rare for most restaurants these days. The pineapple, apple slices, sliced orange, and grapes gave me a boost of energy that helped me get through my day! My husband had a Reuben that he described as "very good." The ambiance was relaxed with TVs going and music playing. A few people were being served at the bar and we enjoyed -people-watching through the large front window. We look forward to a return to Grey's Tavern soon!

I have been coming to Grey's every now and again since I was 17! I love how homey it always feels. I was so happy to introduce my guy to this awesome place. There is a huge welcoming bar in the center and a few tables to sit at if you'd prefer. Everyone is always so friendly and willing to chat during lunch. At night time it's filled with music and people having a great time! On this occasion we had lunch! A Cheese Steak with fries and the Chicken Sandwich with Buffalo sauce. Both were delicious and we will most definitely be making this a monthly tradition!

    Great drinks!

The service isn't going to be in and out as this isn't a large place with lots of wait staff. Expect to be here at least an hour. They have Coors on draft (nostalgia for the Mr.) and tall boy PBRs. Not your thing? Don't let that deter you bc they are one of the few places I have seen who has Old Rasputin on DRAFT. Those not familiar, this is a Russian imperial stout by North Coast Brewery out of Ft Bragg, California. Something I haven't had since... well, I lived in California. Personally, one of my favorite stouts. Beer not your thing? They have an array of specialty contrails and some solid liquor choices including buffalo trace's limited purchase bourbon (eagle rare/ blantons). Food: the Brussels, sandwiches, and salads looked amazing (neighboring patting got those). We split a few things: Brisket: nit the best I have ever had, but solid choice. Maybe not for the $, but it was fall apart brisket. Wings: these are crispy fried with sauce on the side. A little hard but good. Not my favorite. The poutine was by far a favorite with the melty cheese and the gravy was delicious. We also had the street corn and with the lime was pretty good as well. These 4 things were plenty for the 2 of us with a little extra. We didn't mind paying the extra because of the experience. I did about die of heat, but I should have put a hair the in my bag and wore a skit or just not jeans. We will definitely be back.

There are times when you need to circle back around and reconnect with a place that you enjoyed…read moreyears ago, but for whatever reason we have just not crossed their threshold. That's the way it was for us and Taproom, a long time Greensboro pub on Battleground Avenue. The last time we stopped by was pre-pandemic. Prior to Covid we had been somewhat regulars, visiting every couple of months. As we walked in, it was as if we had entered a time machine. Nothing aesthetically had changed. That's a good thing because Taproom exuded the comfortable dark wood intimate setting that it is always enjoyed. We wanted a little bar food and a couple of adult beverages. At the suggestion of the bartender, we split a Caesar salad as well as a Black and Bleu black flatbread. The Caesar salad is a classic and was very satisfying. Can't say it is special, but it is simply delicious. The flatbread was a lot of fun. It comes with olive oil, caramelized, onion, crumbled bleu cheese, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. We added blackened fillet tips as our protein. My only complaint is I should've ordered two. The flatbread is incredibly satisfying and the beef tips were savory, tender, and flavorful. I went old-school on the drink. I had a 20 ounce Guinness, while my wife had a mule. Both were spot on and worked really well with the food we had. Everything was very affordable as well. Taproom is loud and feels neighborly. I reviewed it nine years ago and I'm changing nothing. I highly recommend a visit if you're looking for drinks and pub food in a classic environment.
