    Ginger old fashion

This was my first time visiting and I'll totally be back again. I visited on a Friday night around 10pm and had no problem getting a lane to bowl on. We got our shoes, were given menus and told they would check on us in 5 minutes to see if we wanted to order. Service was super fast and the old fashion was amazing, I'd go back just for That. We ordered a pretzel and the pork belly and the pretzel was delicious with and without the mustard and cheese. The pork belly had a great taste but was too soft for my liking. I was expecting more fried pork this was more pan fried, still very tender, great sauce but I wanted it to be crispy for some texture. The tangy cabbage slaw definitely helped. Overall I really enjoyed myself and will be back

We indulged in the shrimp roll and the black bean burger, and they were absolutely delicious! Plus, we couldn't get enough of their unique cocktails--especially the espresso and ginger old fashioned! A perfect twist on a classic! But that's not all! They even have a bowling alley, making it the perfect spot for a fun night out. And let's not forget about their cool bar vibe The service could have been better--our server disappeared on us for a bit.

Good food, drinks, and a functioning bowling alley all under one roof. Had their poutine and black bean burger, poutine was excellent. The chives add that little bit of variety to the overall taste which makes the whole dish that much more satisfying. The black bean burger was a little on the mushy side for texture, which is more of an issue black bean burgers have in general rather than a reflection on Bourbon Bowl. The tomato and jalapeño avocado crema come together to make a great tasting vegetarian option for this burger. Topped it off with one of their old fashioned cocktails. They have a couple different creative twists, and while they're a little pricier at $15 a pop they are very well done, served in a quality glass with ice balls. Would definitely recommend. Only downside was service was just ok. Server disappeared for a long while and I almost didn't order the old fashioned because of it. Also at one point staff opened the utility closet next to my table and proceeded to fill a mop bucket 6 feet away from my table which is not particularly pleasant or good ambience. This was a weekday night and they were not particularly busy. Overall other than the service which I'd chalk up to an occasional hiccup I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a good casual social setting in downtown Greensboro.

This weekend was my third visit to Bourbon Bowl. It's a very neat concept and I really want to like it, but it's been average to slightly above-average each visit. My first visit was just for drinks as part of a bar crawl night with friends, and we had a good experience at the outdoor patio for a few cocktails and beers. That visit made me want to come back. My second visit was focused on bowling as the primary plan, though we got an appetizer (street corn dip - decent) and drinks that night as well. That was a mid-week visit so we were able to get drinks and a bowling lane quickly without a wait, and was overall enjoyable. This weekend (on a Saturday night), we went specifically wanting to have dinner and bowl. It was extremely busy, with a 90-100 minute wait for a bowling lane, and a 20-25 minute wait for a table to eat. It's January so it's chilly, but I was disappointed to see the entire outdoor patio going unused, while a bunch of outdoor heaters were lined up inside by the bowling alleys. With the use of heaters, they could have greatly decompressed the inside. We ended up going to the bar to get a cocktail while waiting for a table, and once we squeezed into the crowded bar and ordered, I was disappointed that it took nearly 15 minutes to get 3 cocktails. In fact, by the time we had ordered and paid, we got the text message that our table was now ready for dinner. Granted, they were good cocktails, but I can't fathom how a downtown bar can run that slowly. As dinner goes - Food was good. Our group had the French Dip sandwich, the Caribbean Pasta, and the Inferno burger. We also got the Gutter Ball Nachos as an appetizer. The chili on the nachos was interesting since it contained beans and was fairly sweet, but it was overall good. The burger was ordered well done but came out much closer to medium (so I'd be skeptical that ordering medium is going to come very undercooked.) That said, food was overall good with resoundingly positive reviews from the table. Now for the negatives - They charge a 3.92% card surcharge on all tickets, something which irritates me and that I think should be built into the cost of items since most customers will pay with a card. It's deceptive to not display this information until you get your check at the end of the meal. It should at least be openly disclosed on the menu, if not baked into the pricing. I was also surprised to see a note on the receipt that they force a 20% gratuity on all tabs after 11pm, which seems like an odd choice. I somewhat understand (but don't like) forced gratuity on large parties, but it's not like the workload of the server suddenly changes at 11pm. That feels like a way to take advantage of people near the end of the night after they've had a few drinks, and again is not disclosed upfront. Timing worked well that our bowling lane was ready shortly after dinner. Space is limited and this is a Saturday night, but I still think $45 is pretty steep for an hour of bowling, especially to throw on required shoes at $4/pair above that. As for the bowling experience - It was decent, but we found the software to be buggy and skipped bowlers or frames multiple times for no apparent reason. Also, the lanes did not seem properly waxed and it was difficult to get a good spin on the ball because they gripped so much. While the large leather couches were neat, those combined with the large tables made space limited and led to a lot of awkward shuffling past each other to take turns bowling. They could use more space. In summary - A very busy space which is better in the warmer months when the outside patio is open. Decent but slow bar. Good food. Deceptive pricing practices. Decent but expensive bowling. It's a good option for an occasional stop, but not something I would frequent or base my whole night around.

I haven't been to Bourbon Bowl since they first came to Greensboro and I'm not sure why! I finally stopped by recently and will definitely be back. I'm also honestly not sure why it isn't more crowded here. First and foremost, the decor inside is beautiful and funky/cool. The bar is huge with any type of bourbon or liquor one could ask for. Straight back you'll find the bowling lanes which is a unique and fun concept. The patio is also huge and beautiful, and mainly well lit with the exception of a portion that's pretty dark, which we happen to be sat in. Truthfully that's the only reason I'm giving 4/5 stars. I think this area could use a little TLC, especially in comparison to the rest of the patio! It has a lot of potential. They have nightly specials and the night I came it was $12 burgers. I had the Black and Bleu burger which was delicious! The onion jam is outstanding. The staff is friendly and our waitress was very attentive and great! In a world full of fancier (and pricier!) restaurants in downtown GSO, I'm excited to add BB to my rotation of more affordable options. You can usually find parking off Lewis but there's a parking lot at the end of that street that's safe to park in (albeit with a cost). Highly recommend!

We stopped by on a Saturday night around 8:45pm. There was plenty of seating available in the dining area and the bar area. We chose to sit at the bar. I ordered a Rum Punch and thought it was a bit on the sour end. My husband got Blackberry Smash and the bartender asked if he preferred more sour vs sweet and he went with the sweet side. He thought it was good. We did see the small bowling area they had, but all lanes were full.

Great place to hang out with friends or with that special someone. They offer a great variety of mixed drinks and food menus. The bartender we met was very friendly and knowledgeable about what was offered. They also have a bowling alley in the back of the restaurant where customers were having a blast. I will def check that out on my next visit. The outside area is relaxing with falls and plenty of seating. Parking can be challenging in this area but it's worth the hassle to come here.

I have been to Bourbon Bowl since it opened a few years ago. Every time I come I order the Brisket Mac and Cheese. It's so good and flavorful! You must try it! We ordered two appetizers today. The Pork Belly and Deviled Eggs. The Pork Belly was amazing but the deviled eggs were "Okay". They rotate the flavors of the deviled eggs weekly. I may try them again next time. The Espresso Old Fashioned was amazing! Definitely worth coming here just to order one. Perfectly balanced and delicious. The service was really good today for a Sunday afternoon but I have been here on a Friday night where the service was a bit slower. I have never bowled here. But overall I definitely recommend this place!

First time here for a Saturday afternoon lunch. The lanes are first come, first served with a text message wait list. Was told it would be about 45 min for a lane so we got our food. It came up early so we got re-added to the list for when we finished and the transition was smooth. The bowling area is a bit cramped especially with children in the party, would like to see a little more space between the table and sofas. Overall- was a good atmosphere, amazing food, and pleasant service.

    Courtney S.

I went here not expecting the food to be this good! I was honestly shocked! The service was amazing, the tuna was super fresh, and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection The outdoor space was such a vibe -- relaxing and so pretty. I'll definitely be back!

We came here with our family and boy was it fun! Quite the gem in downtown! We did an hour of bowling, prices are very reasonable. We got an order of cheese curds and boy did you get your moneys worth in that, big ole bowl of them too! They had great tunes playing the whole time and people were having a great time bowling while we were eating at the same time. I look forward to coming back here next time we visit, so much fun!

Super great place located in downtown Greensboro. Plenty of seating inside and out. Fast friendly service. Fully stocked bar for any drink you can think of. Menu has many appetizer options for your delight. Great for large groups. A must if your in Greensboro For a great time.

The dip is always so delicious - it's one of my favorite appetizers ever. The pita is really good too. I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. At first, they brought us pita that was really burnt but our waiter told us she requested a fresh batch without us even saying anything which I think is great service. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

Ours were made by Jacob, and you can tell there's real skill and care behind what they're doing. not just pouring drinks, but creating something tailored to you. This was the first time in my entire life I've ever actually enjoyed an old fashioned, and ordered another one, on purpose! Get the pawpaws Pepsi. 10/10 We got to meet the owner, Jocelyn, and her partner Brian, and that completely changed the experience. Jocelyn is a real survivor. She's been through things that could've & should have, easily shut this place down or broken her, but instead, she built something meaningful out of it. She's a survivor in every sense of the word. You can feel that resilience in the space. it's not just a business, it's personal. Brian has been a strong, steady support system behind the scenes. Learning more about their story made everything feel more intentional and real, not just another trendy concept. Another thing people don't realize, this place is also a retail spot for home bartenders, with locally sourced mixers, syrups, and unique ingredients you won't find everywhere. It's part lounge, part community space, part educational experience. I wish I could say that it was worth the wait, but my experience here suggested otherwise. Positives first: Noor is both spacious and stylish with plenty of seating in both the bar and dining areas. Sujan proved to be an attentive and courteous server. That said, the buffet was somewhat underwhelming. It was smaller than those I've found elsewhere in the area. While it offered a solid mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, those offerings were the epitome of playing it safe. Only the hakka noodles (not always an Indian buffet staple) and butter chicken (better than average) really stood out. Nothing else, from the tandoori chicken to the daal to the naan, was prepared poorly, but it was fairly forgettable. Granted, buffet food needs to appeal to a wide range of diners with varying levels of spice tolerance, and so I went in not expecting any heat. Take spiciness out of the equation, however, and the flavors still felt subdued. At least the $20 seemed reasonable for what was offered. It's possible that Noor really shines if you order off the regular menu, and so I wouldn't rule out a return here. The next time I want a weekend lunch buffet, however, I think I'll stick to Taaza.

Cocktails to pair and perfectly crafted. Service is amazing and the overall vibe of the space is warm and comfortable. This is one of my favorite restaurants all time.

Really nice place in the hub of Elm st restaurants and really great decor and ambiance and awesome…read morevibe. Feels like a nice high end place but with a casual feel. The menu reflects this with cocktails, wine and beer and the menu is extensive on the beverages! The food menu is terrific and has so much variety and some really nice plates small and large. It was a theater night when we went and we had a 7.30 show to goto and our server knew that. We got there at 5.30 so figured that gave us the 10 mins to walk to the theater to be on time. We started off with some drinks. My friend loved her cherry ale and I really enjoyed my G&T , the glass it came in was just so unusual. The G&T took awhile to finally make it to me but i loved it. We ordered the tuna tartare and that was delicious and served up with fried green tomatoes which was a different take on it. Nice and fresh and nicely presented. Our entrees were the salmon for my friend and I had the Bahn mi chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Usually this sandwich is with pork so I wanted to try this. The service for our dinner took almost 45 mins we had finished the app awhile back and my grind had another drink and still we were waiting. It was closing in on 6.50 Pm and at this point we would be inhaling our food when it came and rushing out the door . It came at 7pm and the sandwich was good but they should mention on the menu that it has mayonnaise on it as I don't like that but there was quite a bit on the bun. Not typically in this type of sandwich so I wasn't expecting it. The chicken was a good and flavorful and lots of other veggie fillings and the fries were great. My friend really enjoyed her salmon and the risotto it came with. Just disappointed we had to eat it all so quickly and leave some so we could pay and leave. We had our eye on the lemon posset tart for dessert but we didn't have time . We just thought since the server knew we had theater tickets she would have been more on top of it. Yes they were busy as it was a show night but the place wasn't totally full. Seemed like no urgency when we asked how long the food would be as we had to leave soon. I'd maybe try this place again on a non show night, as I thought they had a great menu. I enjoyed the place just not the service as we barely made the show before the lights went down.
