Stopped in for a to-go order tonight while driving through town and ended up having a really meaningful interaction with someone I met nearby. We got to talking, and I decided to order some food for him as well. While we were waiting for the order, Rebecca was incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout the whole interaction. Small gestures and genuine kindness like that really stand out these days and it honestly made my entire night. The vibe here is everything!! I felt like I was in a neighborhood pub in the northeast of the US! Football games on all the TVs, a bustling bar, people chatting with each other and friendly, drinks flowing. I'll be back for this ambiance, very soon -- sold! The mimosas were delicious and $3 on Sundays! I ordered a Patty Melt with chips AND sweet potato fries. The patty melt was delicious. Would order again. The sweet potato fries were superior to the homemade chips that were a tad undercooked (some not all). Both of these sides are a $1 upcharge, fyi. The burger in the patty melt seemed to be hand patted and not just a frozen burger thrown on a grille. You must order at the counter. Pick up drinks at the counter. I came here Easter Sunday with my family after strolling through a garden my mom wanted to check out. I loved how they had so many different sport history and memorabilia's from the past on the walls! This would definitely be a local spot to check out the games for the day in season. The staff were pretty friendly. We grabbed a light beer and got chicken tenders for the table. You can season your tenders with any spice including Cajun and bbq. The establishment was overall welcoming and they have an outside patio too to eat at. They have a decent menu of sandwiches of all sorts. Not a bad steal for $10! Considering it's tied for closest restaurant to my home (Neighbors, Fisher's, Corner Slice, and Machete) I should be here more often! I love Fishers. The veggie burger and options are fresh, delicious, and fast. Service is at the bar for both food and beverage. The place is clean, well cared for, and exactly what you'd expect from a sports bar and grill that's been around well over 30 years in the same location! Lots of other options for carnivores and great beer, wine, and drink choices. You never know who you'll run into here - the closest to Cheers you'll find in Fisher Park for sure! Fishers Grille was my first stop in Greensboro. I first found it when it was one of the few places open on a holiday weekend. It was much busier this visit but not super crowded. I did go at an off time. Service was friendly this visit when I placed my order at the bar. I'm not sure which burger I ordered but even with the fries it was just $10. It was a good size and tasty. The fries were even a generous portion. Fishers Grille will be one of my first stops in December. read more

A late Costco run brought us to finding a spot to grab dinner before heading back home. Yelp never fails to come through with some good suggestions for places when you are in a new part of town. This place is super casual with a big bar on one side with tables on the other. The menu is a chalkboard posted on the wall and you order at the bar. It's been a long while since I had a French dip so that is what I got. My husband got two hot dogs. We also ordered a side of onion rings because the reviews on them said they were hand battered and I couldn't miss out on that. Service was fast and food was hot when it came out. The French dip was delightful and just what I was craving. The hot dogs were good. Nothing amazing but a solid dog. Toppings were plentiful. Unfortunately, the onion rings we were so looking forward to completely missed the mark. They weren't hand battered but instead a frozen premade type. They were very crunchy and almost too hard to eat. My husband ended up eating just one and deeming the rest "not worth the calories". Obviously they have changed them since they first began making them. Possibly due to being too labor intensive. I still enjoyed my sandwich and the vibe there. We stopped here to stretch our legs and to rest for a spell. This small little spot was packed. It took me a minute to realize we could sit ourselves and that we had to order at the bar. The restrooms are single/gender use. Hubby ordered the Sicilian w/ a side of potato salad, and I had the Club w/ a side of fries. Everything was cooked good. I got the vibe it is like a sports bar since NC A&T is around the corner. Overall everyone was welcoming and the food was spot on. Let me start by saying I love Fishers. I've been coming to this place for decades. I've also been a bartender + bar/ nightclub manager for almost 20 years. Man this place needs some customer service training. It's bar service only, and it's busy- which is GREAT, but a friendly disposition, and a smile is not what you will find here. I waited at the bar (with no one around) to order drinks while an 'older' bartender (blonde) drank some water, then refilled her water, then took another sip- without making eye contact or saying a word to me standing literally one foot away. Great start. When I came back to order food, I waited again for two bartenders to pass me by multiple times, helping guests next to me. She rushed me through my order pointing out that the sandwich I ordered 'didn't come with mayo' as I excluded it when ordering- not necessary asshole. She put our food on the bar when it was ready, and screamed our order out, so we had to get up to get it. She didn't do this for any other table. She never came back to check on us, so we had to get up for more ketchup, drink refills, etc. When I ordered another "water extra lemon please" she said: we have lemonade... to which I replied: if I wanted lemonade, I would have ordered it. The staff is pretentious, the service is atrocious. The food is good, and priced well. Spend your hard earned money on a place where it's appreciated, and not expected. read more

Solid food, below average service. Evens out to a 3/5 for me. We went in after a horrible experience with Macs Speed Shop and walked in hoping to get some food to eat. This is less of a "grille" as it is a bar that also serves food. We walked in and there's a huge chalkboard with the food options - the prices are really cheap. Like other reviews have said, we sat and waited for like 20 mins before anyone even glanced our way. In the meantime, we got stared down by everyone at the bar. This is TOTALLY a local spot, and I would venture to call it a locals-ONLY spot. We did not feel welcome. The bartender eventually waved me over after I tried to catch her eye for like 15 mins and was ignored. We put in our food and went outside to eat. The onion rings were incredible, and the rest of the food was really good. It is bar food so don't expect the best quality but damn this place is not afraid of seasoning. Their hot sauce seems homemade and is the bomb. Food was awesome and super cheap too. Overall I probably wouldn't be back. I'm not from here anyway but if you're in the area I'd probably go somewhere else and leave the locals who eat here alone. read more

I'm amazed I have overlooked writing a review for Fisher's before, but I guess it has been awhile since I visited. Fisher's fits the exact definition of neighborhood bar and grille, and is a popular place for people in the area to socialize and watch some sports. Myself, I went in on a bit of a Sunday Funday, and sat at the bar to watch some basketball and have a sandwich. The atmosphere is very much a place you can tell that many people are regulars. I got good service regardless of not being familiar, and that is always good to know. I went with the chicken salad club sandwich, which is what it sounds like, chicken salad with cheese and bacon added on two pieces of Texas Toast. That also came with hot chips and ranch. Overall, it was a good sandwich. A little on the dry side, either the bread needed more butter, or a sauce added to the sandwich to give the chicken salad more creaminess... but I was pleased with it on the whole and would consider ordering it again. The hot chips were excellent. Crispy and warm, with good ranch for dipping. I was not having a beer that day, and can say the tea was just how I like it for a half and half mixture. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere feels more like a pub in a northern city than a southern one, but in a good way. I'll return again soon and try a different sandwich next time! read more

I'm giving 3 stars for the review of the food, not the atmosphere. I've lived in greensboro for about 20 years and just recently tried this joint. It's a local hangout for sure and reminds me a bar where everyone knows your name. I love the vibe it has with the neighborly laughter and friendliness. Don't expect to be waited on because it's a DIY by heading up to the bar to place your orders. That's totally fine but something you need to know when you go there. The cheesesteak was average but the cheese fries were really good. They didn't skimp on the cheese and they seemed homemade versus frozen from a bag. The cheesesteak could use some kind of sauce or seasoning for some more flavor but it was horrible. I would try something else like a burger next time. Fisher's Grille was a random find for us. We happened to be driving down Elm street and stumble upon it on Sunday evening. We stopped in and were pleasantly welcomed. As we sat and socialized, we looked at their menu and decided we would return on Wednesday evening to try their wings. Now, we are huge wing fans and have tried them at quite a few restaurants across multiple states and cities. So, we had high expectations. I ordered the Cajun wings. Usually, I would order the smallest quantity available because I would typically eat between 5 and 7 wings. But, I decided to order 10, so that I could have some for lunch the next day. Let me just say that my wings didn't make it to lunch the next day. I ate all 10 of them! They were absolutely amazing. The Cajun dry rub on them was delightfully flavorful. I didn't need to add any additional salt, pepper, or sauce on my wings. Also, I'd like to note that, I'm not a fan of the drum part of the chicken wing, so I usually order all flats. But, I ate the drum portion of the wing as well. That's how good these wings were. We saw Fisher's advertised on the big screen at the Grasshopper's game on Tuesday and knew that when we decided to try them the following day, we had made a great choice. I visited Fishers on Saturday night with a group of friends around 9 and was instantly told that the grill was closing and if we wanted food we had 5 minutes to order. I finally made it to Fishers for lunch and it was great. I had a cheeseburger and hot chips. Both were solid with the chips cooked just right for me. Not too floppy and not too crispy, perfect. The burger was cooked well with a nice grilled flavor and melty sharp cheddar. They were totally full when I arrived at 11:45 on a Monday so they must be doing something right. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you when it's ready. The bartender / server was a doll, very friendly. She was making cocktails, pouring beer and serving food with a smile. For some weird reason I had never been to Fishers Grille until last night! We watched the last bit of the Tennessee v Purdue game and had such a great time. This place is loud! Definitely a fun place to go with a group of friends!! We had to try the fried pickles because they are my favorite app, honestly what I base a sports bar on . These did not let me down! Crunchy breading and cut to a perfect thickness. The dipping sauce is delicious too. We also had the fried mushrooms which we good as well but I would pick the pickles over those For our mains we had two burgers! The California and the Santa Fe.
