Greystone is a nice deli with plenty of options! I love the Star sandwich and it's a decent price point and in a walkable area. So, it makes for a great morning or afternoon stop on a walk especially in the summer, and the takeout order time is generally fast so I'd say the service is great! read more

Great sandwiches for this local Long Island sandwich place. It checks off all of my ideal deli requirements. It's local, been around for a while, and the counter/display cases are enormous like six feet tall. Most of the sandwiches were all $9 and they were pretty big too. I got the Star (Chicken cutlet, bacon, cheddar cheese and Russian dressing on a garlic bread hero) and my uncle got the the Big Bopper (Roast beef melted mozzarella cheese, bacon and onions on a garlic bread hero). Usually all I need is one sandwich and some chips and I'm good. But since I was flying back to CA, he gave me half of his. I saved half of the Star, which by the way was incredible, and chowed down into the Big Bopper. I literally don't remember eating it because that sandwich was gone within minutes after it was in my hands. 30+ sandwiches plus wraps, paninis, and burgers, what else can you ask for? They have breakfast too like omelettes, pancakes, and egg meals as well. What wasn't listed? How about a breakfast sandwich? Put one of their omelettes into a garlic bread hero? I'd definitely eat that. Very sad that I had to leave Rockville Centre and be far away from this awesome deli, but will keep my fingers crossed that I will one day return. read more

This place is within walking distance to where I live and was excited to try it. Very welcoming atmosphere and the food smells good as soon as you walk in. Husband and I dropped in during the week to grab a quick bite while walking the puppers. He ordered a Big Popper (Roastbeef) which he highly enjoyed and was very flavorful. I ordered eggs with grilled onions, bacon and spinach on a wrap. Unfortunately my wrap was put on a roll (which I loathe!!) but overall it was tasty. Knocked off a star for that and them being out of avocado and fries by 11am. Feel like the guy taking my order may have been distracted... I love Greystone Deli, but (depending on when you arrive) prepare for the wait. They pretty much will prepare anything for you. If you call beforehand and don't get an answer, it's because the workers are very busy. Pretty much all deli food is available at Greystone. I recommend the roast beef hero and the Italian sandwich. They also have chopped salads. Parking can be iffy because it's on Long Beach Road, but there's a smaller parking lot in the back of the store. This place is VERY local, so don't expect anything fancy. Just expect good deli food. read more

Coming out of review retirement to slam this place. It was recently sold and the new owners have gone out of their way to run this once awesome local spot to the ground. I hate everything about it. The employees are awful. The quality of the food is awful. The service is awful. They can't make a simple sandwich correctly and there's such disorganization every step of the way. This has been my local deli for over 8 years and I vow to never step foot in it again. Jane used to greet me when I walked in, and now ages pass before I'm even acknowledged. Simple recall is a basic sign of intelligence.... I order a sandwich with cheese. When the cashier asked if there was cheese the person that put together my sandwich fished my ticket out of the garbage to check. I watched as he fumbled, got frustrated, and yelled YES THERE'S CHEESE. When I got home, amazingly, there was no cheese. I'm done with this dump. read more

Food was good and the egg wrap was filled, however this was my 2nd time there and the coffee area was filled yet again with fruit flies. It needs to be cleaned and wiped down. I've been back here a number of times now since they have reopened this well respected establishment and believe the offerings here are still great, and the place is looking good too. I've had breakfast and lunch / dinner here and all have been very tasty. The only thing that I think might enhance their offerings is professional salamander to heat / melt the sandwiches rather than doing them in the microwave -- otherwise, I continue to look forward to years of patronage. I was really bummed out that my contract ended in RVC because I can no longer frequent this place for it's amazing sandwiches. I got myself a "Rosie", my standard test run sandwich, and they slammed it out of the park!! Nice big hero, fresh veggies and cold cuts, great dressing and it didn't fall apart on one bite. So I figured I'd try another, the chicken cutlet with cheddar n bacon... another amazing sandwich!! It was so good that I went home thinking about it for the rest of the day lol. Over all the place is great, fresh looking salads and meats in the display case, plenty of very friendly staff eager to help and make suggestions, everything you want from a proper Deli. They have great omelettes (the Irish one is my favorite) and breakfast items and really unique combos for sandwiches, wraps, burgers (love the Gough burger) etc . It can definitely get busy at times and the service is not always as fast as it could be, but the food is definitely worth the wait. read more

It's a pretty big place with a few tables if you want to stay to eat and it was very clean inside. There seemed to be a good amount of people working so that's always good as well. I am rarely in the mood for an egg sandwich so when I want one, I want a good one! Ordered an egg white, cheese and sausage sandwich over the phone. First, the person who took my order was friendly and told me the order would be ready in 10 mins, which it was. Parking is a bit on a pain because you have to park on busy Long Beach Rd., but that isn't their fault. The girl at the register was very nice too. From what I was told the recently did some renovations and it looks really nice and clean on the inside and outside. Very pleasant! The egg sandwich was good, tbh nothing special. Price was a little more than what I would normally pay for one at another deli, but that's ok. It was a good potion sizes so that made up for the price. I was full off of half the sandwich. I can't say I would go back for lunch because I am not crazy about a lot of the stuff on the menu. We have ordered here a lot at my office and I always hear mixed reviews from coworkers. Some swear by it, others are not a fan. It really depends on what you order. Breakfast is a go though! Will be back the next time I am craving an egg sandwich. I was very disappointed after a few recommendations to try them by numerous people. Everything in the counter looked pretty good, aside from the grilled chicken, which I zeroed in on because that's what I was going to get. It just looked dry, and that it had been sitting there for a few days. Anyway, I went in looking for a buffalo chicken wrap (not the coldcut, but actual chicken) and walking into a deli for me is a rarity so I didn't really know how to order and it was pretty evident. I told the counter person what I wanted and he looked at me strangely and asked me numerous questions, like whether I wanted the cold cut, what I wanted on the wrap and then how I wanted my 'grilled chicken buffalo wrap' prepared, he suggested "take the chicken and pour hot sauce on it". I thought to myself, "um isn't that why I'm coming to you, you're the professional," but went along with it. He then proceeded to mock me and told the other counter people about my "strange" request, "just pour hot sauce." Never again will I go there. The wrap was subpar alone. I'm also big into customer service and how people are treated, and just based on his actions and for him making me feel like an idiot for ordering something I don't order too often, is reason enough for me to go out of my way to warn people against it. I should have gone to my usual, Ferrings deli in Baldwin, not even 5 minutes away, better customer service and definitely better food. Another thing I noticed while there, for the amount of people working there, I was waiting WAY too long. Greystone is a good solid deli. Sandwiches are creative and always very good. Egg sandwiches are great. Coffee is average. There are a few tables if you want to sit down and eat. Greystone is very clean. I love stopping in for sandwiches to go on the way to the park. My only complaint is that it takes awhile to get outta there. There are a lot of people working and they are all friendly but it always seems to take awhile and there is usually only one register going. I think the ordering and paying process could be more efficient. But, good things come to those who wait! read more
