    Pork pie!

Did a bit of hunting and found simple fine foods carries British style pub pies!. TRUST ME. ITS WORTH THE DRIVE. Drove all the way from Marine Park Brooklyn to Rockville center and bought a bunch of pies, rolls, and pasty's. These are as authentic as you're going to get if you were in Britain. I highly recommend them!!!! Being British born there are things you miss from the motherland. These meat pies are them. Ask Ingrid S. She knows my obsession with pub hunting and these meat pies. The pies are large. Like 6" large and they're 1 pound each!! They weigh a pound!! They aren't a snack or even an appetizer for your beer much like other pies found in Brooklyn or Manhattan. These are the real deal. The staff are great personable people. They offer free delivery most likely on large orders. Each item is individually wrapped and labeled. They take credit and cash. Come relive your British upbringing!! I'll definitely be back for more!

Went here at Christmas to buy some last minute gifts. Had some great little treats for foodies. The woman there was very friendly too.

Sausage rolls more Italian flavors than traditional British. Pies are good but some very very dry.

We started off with a scone with clotted cream and jam. It was excellent! Then we moved onto the burger, Wellington and the pie of the day.omg!! the pie of the day was a vegetable curry, which was really tasty. I loved the burger in the puff pastry! Fries were really crispy on point. But the most memorable thing was the sticky toffee pudding! I'm still dreaming about it! I absolutely love this place even though it was my first time I will be back many times after to try the entire menu.

It was bright and sunny outside, but traditionally dark and well worn inside. You order at the bar and they bring everything to your table. Owners were very nice as you'd expect. I got their house bitter cask ale. Very good however please note this is close to room temperature than a typical cold beer; I personally love the style and this was a good example. My son doesn't understand that British people call fries chips, so we ended up having to get him French fries and potato chips. They luckily had the latter, even if they didn't have plain ones, so we got him ketchup-flavored chips that of course he proceeded to barely eat (they were actually good). He did like the French fries/British chips, and my wife liked her breakfast sandwich even if it was a bit heavy for her. My fish and chips were really freaking good. Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot. Would come back here in a heartbeat, especially where I could relax and drink a bit more. Completely understand why they are recognized as a top bar in the US.

After visiting for brunch today, I'm excited to be able to update my review with a full five stars…read more- Swing the Teapot is officially one of my local favorites! I had the tea experience with Black Velvet and it was just what I needed. I'll admit that the licorice and peppermint were very faint, but it was still a tasty tea and sharing a large pot with my partner, we finished the whole thing. My MIL loved her ginger peach tea, and my friends each enjoyed theirs, one getting his go-to peppermint and the other trying the red raspberry and remarking in how pleased she was with her choice. Lesson learned- if you come here and DON'T get tea (with the adorable teapot, teacup and saucer, all charmingly mismatched) you're doing it wrong. Because I'm weird, I just ordered the Irish soda bread with a dish of whipped cream as a "light" breakfast, and I appreciated that the server humored me to the fullest. My partner had a blueberry muffin that he was super pleased with, probably his favorite that he's found in the area so far. My MIL unabashedly devoured her chicken salad sandwich and the potato salad it came with - usually she's picky so that's quite the endorsement. The avocado toast and burger that my friends ordered all looked fantastic too. Great service, delicious food and tea, and very good prices- next visit will be for the live music!

No pictures of the apple pie, it was devoured in conversation before I could take a picture.

Overall: 4 stars…read more Petite parlour that gives all the aesthetic of a cafe for the perfect English afternoon tea. I was impressed by the expansiveness of their tea collection and accompaniments, of which all are fairly tasty. I found the restaurant to be quite tight though. Apricot Tea Blend - Mellow fruity blend of tea that is pleasant on the palette Sticky Toffee Pudding - It looks like a small slice, but that bowl is DEEP and the pudding is never ending. Its a deliciously decadent dessert that works well, and I think the extra layer of cream is really unnecessary for me. Vanilla Chiffon Cake - The cake is on the drier side for me, but the strawberry filling and the tea complements pair well to alleviate that issue. Scones and Jam - The scones were well made to be flaky and very saline forward, which paired well with the sweetness of the jam. The breakfast I had at tea and sympathy was just the thing! As usual it was extremely crowded. I think the only reason I was able to snag a table without a reservation was because I was by myself. I was seated at a tiny table in front of the door and enjoyed a delicious steaming pot of their house earl grey tea, which came with refills! Then I ordered "the full Monty," which was a yummy and filling breakfast platter, where every single element was perfectly done. The toast was bone dry and a perfect vessel for the piping hot stewed tomato, mushrooms, beans, and silky scrambled eggs. The back bacon and sausage link were very juicy and flavorful, and the star of the meal was the black pudding! I don't normally like it, but this was rich and savory without any sort of gamey offal flavor. I didn't think I'd finish it but I gobbled everything right up. For dessert I thought why not try sticky toffee pudding, which to my surprise was a slice of sweet and squidgy cake studded with chopped dates and topped with a hot vanilla custard. Of course it went perfectly with more tea and the cold dreary weather. The bill wasn't ludicrous but definitely more of a meal for when you want to treat yourself! I love this place and am glad it's still just as busy as ever.
