The National Safety Transp Admin cares about the recalls on my Ford Escape, but Griffin Ford doesn't. If you're a woman, and you call Griffin, good luck if Scott answers. Scott was on speaker when my male family member called, and everyone heard how differently he addressed a man! He sounded fairly professional the second time around. So, maybe I'll get a call back, or maybe the latest, scariest recall for engine fires will let them save their labor. "Liquid fuel and/or fuel vapor that accumulates near a hot surface, such as hot engine may ignite resulting in an under-hood fire, increasing the risk of injury." NHTSA Recall 25V467. Given the line of B.S. from Jacob E. the "business manager" of my original review, I wanted to update. Jacob E. from "Griffin Ford" stated that my trade was worth $5,000 less than KBB because, "there were other items (Tires, Brakes, door latches and body damage) that needed attention and affect the value of the vehicle." Absolute LIES. There was not, and there is still not, any "body damage." Of course you have some documentation of this "body damage" correct Jacob E.? Brakes and door latches were also in good working condition and not worn. In addition "Jacob E." forgot to mention that the $5,000 less than KBB for my vehicle (only listed as in "Good" condition for KBB) didn't take into account it had a BRAND NEW ENGINE. Took my 2014 ford F150 in for an electrical drain and their service tech recommended replacing the positive battery cable from the battery to the junction box at a price of $1700. I Decided not do put that much money into it because they could not assure me this would fix the issue. I took it for a second opinion to another repair facility and was told my problem had nothing to do with the cable but was due to a bad shifter switch not reporting the truck in park and was allowing the dash light to remain on. I had this replaced as it was much cheaper abd was told it would fix my problem and it did! I do not recommend this dealerships service department for repairs as their technicians do not know what they are doing. This is not my 1st bad experience with the service department. I thought I would give them 1 more try and they disappointed me again. I will never return to Griffin. read more

I drove 2 hours to test drive a newer Tahoe that was listed on their website, if all checked out I hoped to bring it home that day. WELL, I immediately got a headache from the cigar smell in it. I was argued with and told it was detailed- ok well it still smells- so I said if the smoke smell would be able to be removed I would return in a week to buy it. Set a date to pick it up, the manager calls the day before the pickup date to ask if I even wanted the vehicle if I hadn't came to get it yet- again; I live 2 hours away and they allowed test drives when it smells like a cigar - NOT ready for sale. So I said yes that I was coming tomorrow, got attitude and brushed him off. I came to get the vehicle and they must have placed some odor masking solution in it because a week later it smelled horribly again. I've spent $400 on interior details and smoke bombs to try to get the smell out AND 4 months after purchasing I get to spend $900 on new brakes and rotators because the $50,000 vehicle wasn't thoroughly inspected. You cant say the 3,000 miles I put on it since purchase caused this much of wear and tear. read more

I first want to say hats off to Lorraine, the Business Manager. She seems to have earned honorary firefighter status judging by the amount of fires she has to put out from customer reviews. Unfortunately, my experience is not much better. I am in Indiana and a huge fan of 370z's and looking to buy my fifth one from Griffin. I spent more than a week working on the details and making sure the car was in a condition I felt was acceptable. I asked for documentation and pictures; all of which were provided in a timely manner. Where it fell apart was when I asked via text "I need to know that the exterior is free of any significant dings, dents or scratches and the Interior is free of any noticeable scratches, tears for defects." The salesman's reply: "The car is in excellent condition. No dents or scratches that I could see. The Interior is immaculate. Very clean. No tears or defects." So I decide to proceed with the purchase and we agreed to meet at a halfway point between my home and the dealership. As I inspected the car several red flags immediately set off klaxons in my head. For starters, there was a HUGE paint chip in the driver front quarter panel (pic attached) second, there were several scratches on the back and finally I started to count the easily visible paint dings on the hood and front bumper. I stopped counting after 30 DINGS!! All of this was easily visible by casual inspection. The kicker, and what made me instantly walk away, was the 1.5 inch GASH inside the passenger door (pic attached). As soon as I laid eyes on that I said, this meeting is done, peace out. This makes feel like I was flat out lied to. I do not see any way around it. My only assumption is that the salesman felt I would not back out after driving 2.5 hours to meet him. To their (minor) credit they offered to pay to have the panel replaced. We drove to a local collision shop and learned that, due to the parts shortage, there was only 1 panel in all of the country and that was if that part had not already been claimed. Then it was up to me to arrange for the fix and wait for the part to come in (which, according to the collision shop manager could be 2+ months). No thank you. They also didn't want to pay to fix any of the paint dings, which is fine. That's their choice. So I exercised my choice and walked away. Warnings are here for good reason. I didn't pay much attention to the negative reviews here, but I've certainly learned my lesson. I had no problems at all with sales, in fact it was great. However the service department is exactly as the warnings indicate. I will try to find another dealer for my service, I don't ever want to go back to that service department. Twice I have been highly disappointed, I'm not giving them a third chance at this point. I strongly advise you pay attention to the warning signs in these reviews, they are here for good reason. If you don't care about waiting 3.5 hours only to find they have not done what you asked for, feel free to experience for yourself. 3.5 hours to remove one screw and replace a sensor is rediculous. This time it was nothing to do with scheduling as it was the first time being sent away saying they had no record of my appointment that their own staff set up. There was no line of customers waiting and I was told I could come in in a couple weeks, when their schedule shows open slots every day in many time slots. My issue is having to fight with someone to get done what I ask for. PERIOD. read more

My 2013 Escape was getting an overheating message and leaking coolant, I called Griffen Ford for an appointment and that appointment was for 9 days out. After dropping off my car, they called back and said I needed a new timing cover and a couple of hoses. The price tag was $1600 and when I told the service advisor that was borderline for me on whether I keep the car or not. He told me I had a good vehicle and it was worth fixing. I went ahead with the repairs and got my car back 5 days later. A few days later, I was heading for work and my check engine light came back on, checked under the hood and the coolant was low. I figured they didn't fill high enough so added coolant and the light went off. A few days later, again the light came on and again was low on coolant. I called Griffen again and explained the light is still coming on and I'm still leaking coolant, the person from the service department said let me get you to an advisor, went to voice mail , left message and no return call. A few days later I called back, this time the person who answered made an appointment for me, which was 8 days from then. On the day of the appointment, dropped off my car, spoke to the advisor and explained I paid $1600, and the problem of the engine light and leaking coolant is still happening. He said they would look at it and get back to me at the latest, early afternoon. I did not get a call back in the afternoon, waited through the next day and still no call back. I called at 4:30 of the 2nd day to get an update on my vehicle and the advisor said "Sorry buddy, we haven't had a chance to look at it yet.". I said what do you mean you haven't looked at it yet, I made an appointment over a week ago. He said because this vehicle is being returned, the same technician needs to be the one who looks at it, and he has been very busy. I asked if he understands how difficult it is being stuck at home having no vehicle, and when I dropped off my car they should have told me it would be a few days before they could look at it rather than telling me I'd get a call early afternoon? He said "I'll tell you what, you can come and get your car now, no charge." I asked, what about fixing the issue that I already paid for, and that I thought that attitude was unnecessary? He then probably realized what he just said and told me my car would be next to look at. We are now on Friday and still no call back, I decided to wait until the end of the day, then got busy and waited until Saturday morning. Saturday morning I called and asked to speak to the service manager, the receptionist said he is off until Monday, would I like to go to voice mail? I asked if no one was in charge to speak to, she transferred me to the person who has not been calling me for updates, who asked me who have I been working with? I said you have been assigned to me, but haven't been calling me back. He explained he worked a half day yesterday and would need to get back to me. This time he called back within 30 minutes and told me I had a leak, I explained again I knew that, and that is what they were supposed to fix a few weeks ago and it wasn't fixed. He said this time the cost would be $1250 to repair, do I want them to go ahead with the repairs, they could have it done by next Wednesday. I asked why, I already paid them to fix this problem, they told me it was repaired, but it wasn't. He said it was a different leak. At this point I wouldn't trust them to do an oil change, and said I would take it to Hiller, I'll come and pick it up. He said I am responsible for the diagnosis at $125, I mentioned I already paid that fee the last time, and they apparently misdiagnosed the problem. In order to get my key back, I had to pay again. This was one of the worst experiences I have had with any business, there was a total lack of any customer respect. I never experienced this with Hiller ford, and I have brought my vehicle to Griffen before and had good experiences, but this one was so bad that I would never go back and would definitely tell family and friends of this experience. read more

Matthew was terrible and very rude! Very bad experience today. I had 1600.00 worth of service completed at this center. Two days after completing the work, my check engine and wrench light went on. They didn't have 2 minutes to quick check it. Instead wanted me to make an appointment again to have it check. I drove to my mechanic at F & F and they checked it on the spot for free!!! Didn't even take 5 minutes to check. NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR!!!!! That would have been a day or two for them to find this out, with us shifting cars and rides. I wouldn't ever go there for anything. We have drove Ford Explorers for years and they were all from Griffin. Will never buy or service another vehicle from there again. I would not even bring my kids tonka truck here And unfortunately they don't care as there will always be more people going thru the doors of Griffin. No customer service. Will never bring my car in for service at this location again. Brought my car in for a simple repair that I was told would take the day, but this got pushed back several days due to "a shortage of technicians" that just magically happened that day. Service people were not in any way accommodating or helpful during the process. Just told to leave the car there and they'd get to it next day, but this never happened. Again, the delays and the clear signal that my car was not a priority were frustrating enough, but many of the service people I dealt with simply weren't particularly helpful and at times downright rude. Seemed very two-faced. At the end of the day, these crooks charged me for diagnostics without fixing the damn problem, which they said they wouldn't be able to do for several days. I never write reviews for this stuff (this is literally my first Yelp review ever, and I don't intend on writing any more in my life), but the customer service was so despicable it warranted a review. I sincerely recommend you take your business elsewhere. I'm sure someone in their customer relations/social media department will come on here to try and explain this away somehow, but there's no excuse. Just be honest and decent with your customers and don't treat them like s***. Looking at a lot of the past reviews, it sadly looks like my experience is not unique. I went in for an oil change Monday at a BMW shop after your establishment told me to go elsewhere for my next oil change since you were not equipped to do the work efficiently. Why would I have gone anywhere else in-between these times if I wasn't due for an oil change. Makes zero sense since you charged me $169 for my last oil change. No where near what I was charged the other establishment on Monday. The carfax said you did the oil change before I purchased the car drove about 10,000 miles. Had my first oil change with you, and drove about another 10,000 miles and went to a BMW service station because your service department said I should. Why would I get an oil change @ that cost when not needed????? I nor anyone else wouldn't either. That would be a waste of money. Making your company the one possible that messed up vehicle. No way I would pay for an oil change I didn't need. My next step is calling the better business bureau. Your service department managers might have each other's back, but sorry they are lying to you. I had a witness on my side too. We were in there for over an hour going around and around and not once made an offer of any assistance of cost to do the work. Not a dime! I am confident your service department made the error. Why should I have to pay for their mistake? Why does he no longer work there? Why do you send out foreign cars to be repaired now? Why was I told your service department made so many mistakes on foreign cars you send them out for repair now? This is not how I am, I have never made a negative review ever. I have been treated horribly every time I've been there. Talking down to me like I'm an idiot. 2018 Edge had a recall. Vehicle is my elderly father's and they took the time to contact us both for the repair. I chose to have it done at home, in my driveway. Never knew it was an option, and they suggested it. I scheduled for 10am, Tom the mobile tech, gave a heads up call, and arrived on time. Took him mere minutes to complete the recall repair. I then had a question for Tom regarding a mud guard below the vehicle...not only did he take the time to answer the question, he diagnosed the issue, identified part, ordered part, had Brett give me a ring for payment, and then once parts arrived, HE DELIVERED THE PART TO ME AT WORK. I am skeptical of dealerships folks, but I am giving credit where it's due. This business went the extra mile here. Bought a 2013 Ford Escape from them in May. It is a very nice car. The windshield developed a major crack so I called about getting it replaced. They explained that the windshield was not covered by the warranty, which I understood, and that it would be over $500 to replace it. Unfortunately, they would not be able get me in for almost the weeks. I wound up calling another Ford dealer who was able to get me in in three days and replace it for less. My mom started leasing a new Ford Edge a few months ago and I purchased a used Ford Escape shortly after, both from Griffin Ford and we could not be happier! My mom was upside down on her previous vehicle and Griffin was very accommodating with fitting the remaining payments into her lease payments and staying within her budget. Awful Dealer! In 2016 I bought a new F150 from this dealer and the back window and rear passenger window had scratches in them. First oil change Griffin didn't put enough oil in the engine (didn't register on the dip stick). Another time I had service done while I was at work only a couple of miles away and the shuttle service forgot to pick me up when my truck was done. I since sold this truck and bought another new truck from another dealer, and I needed to cancel my extended warranty. I could only do this through Griffin. I went into the dealer and canceled my warranty; at least I thought I did. Griffin never canceled this warranty. I called the dealer but they wouldn't return my calls. I finally explained my problem with the Ford Motor company extended warranty company and they allowed me to cancel this extended warranty myself with out going to the dealer again. read more

Terrible place to go. They sold me a 2013 f150 that had multiple problems since the day it left the lot. Water pump blew 4 months into owning it. Had to be towed due to the brake calipers siezi g up that was 1200 out of my pocket not even a free tow. Now I bring it in cuz it's undrivable due to mechanical issues and instead of offering to diagnose the truck they said that they couldn't get the parts for a year and that if I wanted to get the parts I would have to wait a year I was asked what I should do due to me not having a vehicle due to this and they told me that the only way out would really be to buy a new vehicle 2013 f150s have a lot of problems they said wonder why a year and a half ago when I bought this they told me it was a great vehicle. Now I was forced into a Ford explorer that I could only get a loan on with out trading my truck in due to me being so upside down in it due to the fact that I only had a year and a half paid on a 7-year loan because my truck's a piece of s***. So now I am stuck with two vehicles from Griffin Ford and at a complete financial loss I went in today to try to get the problem resolved and they basically spit in my face and told me that the only way a problem could be resolved was to take down the bad review that I had given them due to buying my new explorer being blue certified 172 point inspection they missed the crack on the windshield unbelievable. now after leaving a bad review everyone cares and I'm getting constantly sweated about taking down this bad review and basically moving on with my life. They have done nothing positive for me they've only bent me over and screwed me with no lube. I am a middle class American I'm a law-abiding citizen and I expected to be treated like one. They don't seem to back the number one truck sold in America as they have proven to me over and over again that they just don't give a s***. I guess I have to give a star to post, otherwise there wouldn't be ANY star. . The issue: Rear window wiper motor on my vehicle developed a short. Took the vehicle to a Ford dealership who wanted around $450 to fix it. To add insult to that insulting price, they told me that it was going to be more than the $99 diagnostic fee. I asked if they could just disconnect the wiper motor to which they had no problem with that. The NEXT issue: So I get my vehicle and start down the road. It having been a snowy day, the sand and salt spray began building on my windshield. I go to use the sprayers and nothing. The sand and salt continue to quickly build on my windshield yet nothing...and I'm on the freeway. I pull over and wash my windshield off with snow. I call the dealership to find put what they did. I'm told to bring it back to see if it was an issue THEY caused. Of course THEY caused it as they worked when I brought it in, and now they don't! The Dealership: They look at the issue and claim that if the motor to the rear wiper is disconnected, it will not allow any of the washers to function. I asked how they would let someone leave after disabling legally required safety equipment w/o their knowledge. They claim they didn't know; that this was the first time the issue had come up. BS! Either they're lying or their "certified" mechanic doesn't know what they're doing! So what they want me too believe is that the rear wiper motor, and both motors at run the washers are connected on one circuit, but that the front wipers are on their own circuit. I had no choice but to have the item fixed so they got their money in the end and that's where I took it. But other that to reform to get some other part fixed they broke, I will avoid this place and suggest others do as well. read more

I've had a very positive experience with Griffin Ford. On a referral from a friend, I purchased my 2014 Ford Escape here last Labor Day weekend. Incentives were good and the price was right without feeling like I was getting "hassled." Service appointments here are a treat - coffee, donuts, popcorn, cookies, and a free car wash. Pricing is better here than at most "drive-in" oil change places, too; so you're really getting your money's worth. Staff have always treated me with respect and a smile. Went to take delivery of a new vehicle, walked the deal due to the terrible service. First, the Internet quote is lies. Second, the website inventory system is not accurate. Third, the sales staff and management flat out lie about approved financing offers that apparently only one finance guy can get. He was conveniently not present the night I was taking delivery. Being strung along and hesitant in the first place I wasn't going to wait another day for more lies and frustration. So frustrating. Update: I did end up getting the car from them the next day as the finance guy was really able to pull through. While I wasn't thrilled, they did have the better price between dealers.
