Never in my wildest dreams would I picture myself writing a glowing review for a car dealership. Hate to say it but it's no ones favorite task to deal with dealerships... however, Hall's was great. I had a really pleasant, and speedy experience in leasing my new car recently. This process can be really stressful - luckily my mom is a pro in this department and took off a lot of the load for me. She was actually first in search of a new car and then pulled me on board, as she knew I was in the market as well. Once I realized the vehicle I wanted, down to the details, there was no changing my mind. Black 2021 Tiguan R-Line with black rims, please! There's actually a nation-wide car shortage (parts, etc) lately so I was really excited to hear they had "my car" available at this location. The manager, Nick, was so helpful and not at all pushy. He and the very lovely salesperson we worked with - Marlene - were available to answer all and any questions, even after hours. It was as simple as exchanging text messages with them and also hoping on the phone for some explanation and payment breakdown in detail. Negotiating wasn't a hassle and no one we interacted with was combative or forceful. If I'm honest, I know very little about cars and it's truly the worst to be made to feel dumb and inarticulate (as I have in past experiences), so I was very pleased that wasn't the case again this time. When it came time to sign off on paperwork and pick up the VW, everything was seamless. Marlene was so sweet and walked me through all of the car's bells and whistles and then passed me off to a member of the account/finance team to get all of that sorted. Again, someone friendly and willing to thoroughly break everything down. I left in my shiny new car, and I love her! I'll no doubt be returning for some tune ups over my lease period, and look forward to working with this team again in the future. read more

I was pleased with the service I've received here; albeit, at times, rather slow. I've a newly purchased EV and Hall had, at the time, only one certified technician that was able to work on this kind of vehicle. I needed to have some recall work done and the whole process took about 6 days. I'm unsure why it took that long but it did have something to do with just having one technician. I'm told there was another in process so I'm hoping this changes. Overall, when I purchased the vehicle, the sales person was great and the process, while lengthy, was taken care of quite well. read more

I went in for a simple oil change and walked away with more headaches. The oil change was more expensive than advertised when I spoke with someone on the phone to schedule the appointment. I wanted them to check the brake fluid amount, which they said they could check if they did a tire rotation. I agreed to the extra $$ for the tire rotation only for them to tell me they didn't check the brake fluid. Due to how cold it was I requested they do not wash the car, which they washed anyway. When I got the car back the front license plate was bent in half, which was perfectly straight upon arrival. Will not be going to this location for any parts or service in the future. read more

Honestly probably the rudest "service advisor" I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. If you would like someone to be condescending to you when you're asking simple questions about your car this is the place to go. It is fair and not a crazy thing to ask about the general well-being and health of a car. This gentleman with black teeth could not really explain what was done to my car and gave me very general answers when I came to pay. I simply asked him to look over what they had done so I could confirm the work and that seemed to really bother him. The lack of accountability and general rudeness for asking basic questions... honestly it's kind of weird. I don't know if he thought I wasn't going to pay or he assumed something about me because of the color of my skin, which it might be or if he's just generally condescending and lacks general understanding of basic etiquette, but do better a lot better. Saying something along the lines of "I don't know what you're trying to get me to say to try to catch me in something but I'm not gonna say it" is a weird response when I'm asking what is the process of how you go about performing a diagnostic and how you end up getting the determination of what is wrong with my car. Never in my life have I met such a disgusting service person. Spending $1000 to get yelled at by a person who cannot regulate their emotions or behavior is really just egregious . MY REPORT TO THE BBB I feel like any problem with the engine is directly related to the service you performed. If it is not related to a service you performed, then it was a missed diagnosis from your technicians. I feel like your team has been consistent in not diagnosing problems. This leads me to spend money on repairs that don't fix the car. That has me coming back multiple times with massive personal expense. If my 2012 had been properly diagnosed in February, I would have saved thousands in repair bills. Those thousands could have been put into the vehicle I purchased. That would have saved thousands on the life of my new loan. So when I brought in my 2018 and your technicians said everything that was wrong. I had it repaired. If I bring my car back to you, I'm sure you will miraculously find several thousands in repairs that you were not aware of a week ago. I feel this is intenonal and deliberate. Volkswagen needs to stand by their work. I can not take you at your word. I need you to stand by your work and fix my car correctly. At your expense because I have paid enough this year. read more

Terrible communication and worst costumer service I have ever experienced. Made an appointment a month ago and told them exactly what I needed. Ignored for ten minutes after I arrived. Then they said I would have to leave the car for at least a whole day or maybe two as it was their "policy." I've bought seven new cars before my Volkswagen Tiguan and this was by far the worst experience that I have had with a new car, please consider other dealerships before visiting Hall VW-Mazda. The experience started pleasantly enough; Ricardo is friendly and pleasant if not necessarily the most knowledgable (I specifically was there to test drive a FWD version but he kept telling me it was an AWD. Spoiler alert: I was correct) when it comes to the cars themselves. Maybe that should have been a red flag, because it all went downhill from there. I loved the car and we talked numbers and got to a reasonable place on price. He brought in the Finance guy Ziggy (Why is it that all finance guys seem to be terrible people? Is that something that you put in the job posting?) to discuss rates for financing. I told him that if he could match the 2.99% my credit union was doing, I would go with them. If not, I was happy to apply through the CU. I sat for the next two hours while Ziggy tried to find a bank that would match the rate and terms. Every 30 minutes he would come out and ask questions that were neither relevant nor polite. Given the amount of time I was there, I expected this to be a done deal, but alas, it was not. Nearly 30 minutes after the dealership closed, Ziggy told me that he couldn't match the rate and would not answer when I asked if he got close. He started getting belligerent and swearing for no particular reason. I signed the agreement and took it with me to apply for the loan, he closed the conversation by telling me, "You're not going to get that rate." I went home and applied through my credit union. The next morning, the branch manager asked me for a copy of the purchase agreement and 20 minutes later I was approved for the loan at--wait for it--2.99%. Why so much of my time had to be wasted the previous night was mysterious to me. Before I left the previous day we had made an appointment for me to bring in the check and drive away with the car but I still waited over 25 minutes to meet with Ziggy, no one could tell me why. I spent as little time as possible with him but it still felt like an eternity; the entire time he was apologizing he was cutting me off, not letting me talk and blaming others for what occurred. I made sure to let him know that I did get the rate I said I would get, to which he responded, "That surprises me." He also complained about his job and that he was trying to leave but it was a salaried job and his background was really that of an electrical engineer. I could care less. Leaving Ziggy, Ricardo was ready for me but had not spent the time wisely. The navigation chip had yet to be installed in the car, my plates were still waiting to be affixed to the car, and I noticed several spots where the plastic the car had on it while being transported left an adhesive residue. Someone was dispatched to touch up those spots. You would think with all the time I had already waited these things would have been done. Ricardo was ready to send me on my way when I asked for the general manager who was shockingly not available at 5 p.m. on a Friday. He brought me the sales manager instead, BJ. BJ said he noticed how late I had been there and they had had a meeting about it both that night and the next morning. If that's the case, why didn't anyone reach out to me proactively that day? And why wasn't everything ready to go when I arrived at my pre-arranged arrival time? I did get two free oil changes out of this for my time, not exactly even, but better than nothing. But I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere! read more

I really like my VW and try to take care of her as best I can. I've been to Hall now a few times for parts and service. Parts: If you need instant gratification, they have a huge selection of parts in-stock. I needed to replace a little elbow for the windshield wiper fluid. I expected to pay a few bucks, but the part was over $19 total. Had I been patient and ordered online I could have paid $7 plus a few bucks for shipping. Service: My first encounter here was for brakes. I came in for an estimate on brake work and ended up having to leave the car overnight because something "broke" while they were taking it apart and had to be special ordered. I was stuck doing the repair here as they wouldn't let me leave to get an estimate elsewhere but they did hook me up with a rental at no charge. I have been back for oil changes as their prices (with coupon) are reasonable and you're in and out the door quickly. Lounge: Comfy chairs, a big TV, wifi and coffee await you. read more

Hall Volkswagen Brookfield has taken me through the ringer this year. Thousands in repairs. I take a car in and it's an expensive fix. Pay for the fix. Within a week problems arise. Repeat. They are crooks and hacks. This has happened with not 1, but 2 cars within the span of six months. When we ask within a week of getting the car back and problems arise to back the work they did, they tell us "unless you can prove it was something we did, you'll have to pay for any fixes"..... problems should not arise after LESS THAN A WEEK on 2 different cars after telling them to fix anything that needs to be fixed. read more

I had a very good experience at Hall. My sales associate, Mark, was very helpful and honest throughout the whole process - from car shopping across brands at other dealerships to signing the papers for my Mazda, Mark was a part of it. I bought my car with a chip in the windshield. I was a little shocked that that wasn't noticed when the car was detailed for the purchase, but after I pointed it out, Mark ensured me it would get fixed free of charge. Within a couple weeks of purchasing the car, I had a few minor issues come up. Mark made sure it was all handled promptly and without charge (because the issues were either problems that were obviously there before I bought the car or under the warranty). I have heard plenty of times about dealerships charging customers in full for issues with the car after purchase that were clearly there before the purchase was made, but that was not my experience at Hall. Mark made buying my first car a good experience; he was never pushy or overbearing. My appt today was "canceled" by the service mgr. unbeknownst to me. I showed up for my appt that no one could find. No one helped me. They just simply acted irritated and made me stand there while the person "helping" me shouted throughout the service area for someone to figure out what went wrong. No one offered to fit me in. There are actually many great people working here and have had some good experiences in the past. Always treated well by the sales staff on the floor and service personnel, but the used car manager wasn't personable, had a bit of an ego, was insulting and wasn't interested in talking in a respectful way to a loyal customer whose been going to this dealership for several years for car purchases servicing vehicles as well as choosing them for a past insurance claim repair (10,000+). After being told no budging was going to happen on my trade (I knew was with more). I decided to check elsewhere. I was able to get $1800 more for my trade in Sheboygan at Van Horn VW, plus an additional $934 off of the exact same vehicle MSRP. Not sure being a loyal customer means the same thing to everyone. PLEASE READ BEFORE WASTING YOUR TIME WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. When I think of a sleazy dealership, I will now think of Hall VW. I have bought many cars, from many dealerships and I have never had a dealership break a contract. Shakes hands with you. Do exactly what they ask AND THEN ASK FOR MORE MONEY FOR THE VEHICLE. Proof: We saw a car online that was posted with 'call for price'. So we called, made an appointment and came in to the see the car. We asked for the price and were given a quote. We came in 4 days later to see the car again. Salesmen mentioned it seemed we liked the car and other people were interested and suggested we put a deposit down. We went inside, drew up paperwork. We did the typical back and forth games dealerships play with you. Where you ask for a lower price, the salesmen goes to their manager (manager was out, so he went to the OWNER) and comes back with a yes/no. In the end, we settled on the same price we were quoted originally and got a free oil change. We signed a printed document with the price, taxes, dealership fees and oil change and both signed. They then drew up temporary purchase agreement. We put our deposit down and left. We shook the salesmen hand. We waited for him to get his manager, Tom. Chatted about how we would love to service our new car here, he mentioned what a great deal we were getting on the car. Went over the paperwork again and shook hands. They had a few more safety inspections to do, so we couldn't make the deal today. TWO DAYS LATER... we get a call that they need to go up in price by $2000 due to needing a new battery and the rotors (and misc other things) needed to be done. One, this was ridiculous to move up the price as we signed a contract and shook hands on the deal. Two, $2000 seemed like a lot for the itemized list they gave me of fixes. (I had to fight to get the list) So I called a VW dealership 8 miles away from Hall and asked for a quote on the itemized list. Total came to $1400. So they are lying again. We tried to reason with them and said, split the difference. Go up in price by $1000. Took them a day and a half to deny us. They couldn't get back to us (to deny our offer) because they were 'with other customers'.. These people are crooks. Liars. And downright bad people. The owner, Tom the business manager and another manager ALL approved the price. They all agreed to the price. They shook our hands after signing paperwork agreeing to the price. Don't waste your time with this place. The service every time I've been forced to go there has been bad and over priced. Last time I went I had to get a back window fixed and it took them an extra week longer than they told me and it was more expensive than the original quote cause it didn't factor that they would have an outside company do it. If they would have told me that, I would have cut out the middle man and gotten my car back much quicker. Today is the reason I write a review. I call, with a flat. Need some help getting a replacement lug nut screw. Which is available on Amazon. But I have another car and I think I can swing by to the dealership down the road from me and get a replacement super quick. Nope. Not only did I get transferred 7 times (how many departments do they have?) final the last guy tells me I'd have to bring the car in or towed cause they do do replacements for the security screw. Thanks So I call VW of Milwaukee North and I have a solution in under a minute. They inform me that customers have this problem all the time, the security nut hides in a secret pocket of the tire replacement kit. But if it isn't in there, they're more than happy to provide a screw since I'm a registered VW owner. Then, once they acknowledge you, they tell you there's nothing they can do for you. The service department is run by morons. No, you can't keep my car overnight so you can charge me almost $40 for a rental, and no, I'm not paying you to plug my car into your computer to see if it's throwing codes when it's still under warranty. I bought a used VW with an official manufacturer extended warranty so for the first few years of my ownership I exclusively used VW dealerships as many of the repairs were still covered under my warranty. (Including when my driver-side window fell into the door during the winter - twice. What a weird problem, but I guess it's common with this model.) After the warranty ended I have become more picky. While I love love love the shuttle service which allows me to go about my day normally, that in itself is not worth the extra money. Dealerships are expensive, and this one is no different. When I failed my car's emissions test, I was given a printout of the error codes to give to the mechanic. Hall VW said they still wanted to check the computer and they would still charge me $90 to do so, despite me saying that I didn't want that done. Additionally, in the winter I have woken up to a car that wouldn't start (and I did NOT leave any lights on) despite a recent appointment that had said my battery was fine. Turns out it wasn't. So no more fancy coffee-machine drinks in the neat little Hall waiting room for me.. I will be bringing my car to shops that come with recommendations and where I feel like I really can trust the service. read more

I had an awful experience on Monday the 21st of October here, it was also the first time I had ever been to this dealership. I made an appointment a week prior and made sure to call and confirm what time I needed to be downtown that morning for work. They told me to arrive by 815am, which I did and I would be downtown by 9am no problem. After arriving, the service attendent took 15 minutes to check my car in and ask for my information, twice during this 15 minutes I explained about my time constraint and he did nothing. Then at 835am he went to check on the shuttle and said the two shuttle drivers were gone and then he left me in his office again to come back in another 5 minutes to say I could wait in the lounge. I didnt even know they had a lounge because he didnt show me. At 9am (25 minutes later) the shuttle driver arrives asking if anyone needs a ride, at that point, it was too late because my morning was ruined, which left me having to explain to my work why I didnt show up, as expected, to teach a class at 9am. I explained to the same service attendent that I would be now waiting for my vehicle in the lounge because my entire morning was disrupted and asked how long it would be. The attendent, P. Wilcox, never came back with an update. Then an hour and 15min later, I asked the cashier about my vehicle and she said it was ready; no one came to tell me! She handed me the paperwork, I explained to her my disappointments, and I went to my vehicle where I read over my report and read about parts needing to be replaced but NO ONE explained the paperwork before I was released to my vehicle. Once in my vehicle there was grease on my driver door from the mechanics. No one apologized or ever came to talk to me about the entire situation. The same afternoon I wrote an email to the dealership explaining my experience and now 2 days later, I have NOT received any response what so ever. I'm so glad the 20k service I was there for was still covered under factory warranty. Awful experience to say the least and I will not be returning. read more

Avoid the service department at all costs. Had to keep going back to fix what they messed up on. They broke the car, but want 3 diagnostic fees to look at it to fix their screw up. They cannot fix anything unless the computer tells them what is broken. No check engine light, they say it is not broken, even though you hear the fan about to self destruct. read more

I recently bought a car at Hall VW, my fourth vehicle in the past several years. I intend to maintain my customer loyalty. There was a problem with the alternator on the third day of ownership, such that I was stranded a bit away from home. I was, as one can appreciate irritated to the say the least and with the help of neighbors with automotive savvy I learned it was not the battery but something a little more costly to repair. The car was guaranteed for 48 hours and I was surprised by this, but knew this before I drove away from the dealership. I didn't ask because I assumed the typical 30 days that I have been granted with other preowned purchases. So.. the bottom line Hall VW had no contractual obligation to repair gratis, replace parts or waive the service fee. A contract is a contract ..right ?? 2 day warranty and problem on the third day, tough luck ..right ?. We were reminded when we first called about the problem that indeed we had no warranty and had waived the extended service option. So, all who are in suspense... what was the outcome. The service manger, a woman not that matters, said it sounded unfortunate and she would, see what she could do. She contacted one of the owners, a Mr. Hall (of course) who said," we can and will take care of this, we will make this right', and they did. so , not your typical kick the tires outfit, right. An awesome organization, if this is the way it is at the top and trickles down to all employees you have a first class organization as they do. To do the right thing when it is the harder or least advantageous option is the definition of integrity and fairness. This feedback relates to my recent/only experience at Hall Volkswagen/Mazda's service department and is unbiased in any way other than the aforementioned: 1. Appointment was scheduled too far out, in which case I was forced to drive the car around with a bad ignition, which stranded me on two separate occasions. At the time I made the appointment I had not been affected by the mechanical issues, it was mostly a nuisance, but it progressively got worse as time passed, until the vehicle was stranding me. In which case I had to start relying on roadside assistance and others for transportation. 2. The representative who accepted the vehicle at the time of my appointment wasn't the friendliest, and proceeded to tell me that I wasn't operating the vehicle correctly, before she knew anything about the situation. She should have gathered more information before assuming I was operating the vehicle incorrectly. The outcome turned out to be a faulty ignition which had nothing to do with me. 3. I never received a description of services performed or parts replaced at the time of pick up. In their defense I will say that I wasn't the party billed for the services, but as I keep detailed records of all my vehicles, I was disappointed that this wasn't provided to the me(the owner). 4. When picking up the vehicle I was told "it was somewhere outside and to the left" and if I had trouble finding it to "use the panic button on your key fob". Turns out it was parked in the back of the lot next to the river, which had a usual growth of thick vegetation and trees that dumped copious amounts of pollen and sap onto the exterior. I have a black car so it needed to be washed immediately after I left the lot (it was immaculate when I dropped it off, I was even complimented on how nice the car looked! Not so nice when I left). 5. The reason I gave them two stars instead of one was that the vehicle was actually fixed when I picked it up. I guess the all stars here would be the technicians, which I'm sad to say I never had the pleasure of meeting. Conclusion: I expected better service from the dealership, which is why I took it there in the first place. I could have had a poor customer service experience anywhere else, for half the price! Good thing I wasn't the one billed for this! However, I am thankful I had the opportunity to try out the dealership at someone else's expense; the experience reminded me that I could be treated like an ordinary person no matter how much was being charged! read more

Good deal considering the state of used vehicle sales. Dealership price was fair in comparison to like models and competitive models. Issues: Took receipt of CPO VW Tiguan (2019) and gas tank was under half full. Got it home and upon further inspection, no carpet mats, chip in paint on the roof down to metal, scratches all over, wax build up on outer wheel well, and engine compartment dirty. Was still going to recommend, but the reason why I haven't is, a week after purchase, received an oil change alert due in 30 days. I understand it is used, but being a Certified Pre-Owned and a fairly newer one, you'd think these details would be viewed. read more

I highly recommend this dealership and their service department. I was having problems with my 2016 CX5 losing all the preset stations, dropping Bluetooth, and navigation. I called once and was told by a man in service that many people try to get upgrades for free and that if this didn't happen while I was at the dealer then there was little they could do. I was very frustrated after that 30 min. conversation. My car is still under warranty and I told him that. It didn't matter to him. This time I got JESSICA. I had a very good buying experience here with Victor and now Jessica has kept my good feelings about this place intact. She was very helpful and fixed the problem right away. read more

I have been a customer of Hall Volkswagen-Mazda for many years. I love my salesman Doug Schultz- he has sold me 3 cars to date... and any future cars that I may need. I also use the service department - because they are always honest and fair with me, and they never speak down to me about understanding any of the repairs or services. Today they went above and beyond the call of duty helping me. I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I have lost a lot of strength in my hands. I received new license plates for my car - and I tried to replace them by myself. I couldn't budge the screws. I called Hall to inquire about help. I was told to come over at my convenience and they would be happy to help me out. I was there within an hour. They quickly got the new plates on. I asked about the charge - and there was none. First of all, this review is only based on the Dealership side of Hall Cars. I have no experience with the service department. Off the bat, Jake was helpful after I contacted the dealership online, with information on vehicles they had in stock. I went in looking to test drive a used VW that I liked, although after the test drive I decided it wasn't right for me. Josh Barkstrom was my Product Specialist and he looked through other similar cars with me for a while and even let me test drive another before leaving. I did not purchase a car that day, but when I contacted him about coming back in a week later to see another car in his inventory, he was more than helpful. He was easy to work with and never seemed pushy to me. In addition, he was extremely knowledgable and a light-hearted guy. I'm a pretty laid-back guy, but even so, he made the car buying process pretty harmless. I would probably return to Hall Cars in the future (although I plan to drive this car for many years to come). We finished up the buying process close to the time they were closing for the evening and the final detailing of the car seemed a little rushed (cleaning the inside of the car and all). I can understand that, and I don't blame the guys doing this, but still, it's desirable to get a car in prime condition. I would have cleaned it top to bottom anyways because I really like the car and I plan to keep it in great condition. In addition, I received the car with a quarter tank of gas, which I'm not extremely upset about, sending someone off with a full tank just seems like a pretty customary and common thing to do. The only other complaint I have is that the woman at the front desk did seem a little testy which was not a great first impression, especially since I clearly had never been there before. Bottom line: Josh was great, I think giving them a little more time to finalize the transaction would solve these small complaints. I've had work done here before which went well. Stopped in today to talk about my bill which was higher than what I was orgionally quoted, service guy Noel was a dick and just said I had to pay what they told me or they would keep my car. *Spoke with service manager Brian who was very easy to talk with and had worked my price down and helped to go over some of the previous miscommunications with my price quote. My only real complaint at this point is with Noel, not the company or anybody else that I had worked with at all. read more

Walked into Hall Automotive with my friend and had a hard time getting someone to help us as it was a busy Saturday, but we didn't mind looking around with no haggling to start. Eventually Victor was paged to come help us out. Victor was a wealth of knowledge on all things Volkwagen and drives a Passat himself (the car I ended up buying). I never felt any pressure to purchase and he worked with me to find the perfect match between the Passat and Jetta regardless of price. For the price offered at Hall VW, I felt like I got a great car with all the up to date gizmos and less than 30,000 miles. The certified pre-owned warranty was icing on the cake. I thought it was nice to be able to test drive the cars on your own without the salesmen in the car so that you could really get a feel for it. In addition to helping find my car, Victor was a great resource for my financing options. He worked with me to find the best rate, and had great information on whether or not to use a co-signer. When I did get to pick up my car a few days later everything went very smoothly and quick for a car buying process. I really enjoyed that he showed be all the different features in the car before letting me drive it off the lot. I usually spend the first 6 months figuring out what i am even doing in my new car. Service Center is joke...repeat visits, inexperienced technicians, and rude "service advisers". Don't waste your time here unless you want to experience every check engine light that your VW is capable of displaying. read more

I would give them a negative rating if possible. Have dealt with their service department on a couple occasions and have received absolutely terrible service. Dishonest advisers that always try and charge a diagnostic fee when other dealers don't charge warranty work. Had a battery issue as well as a coolant leak that is a known problem on the Atlas and they lie to your face and claim there's no known issue; but admit there's an issue with battery when it's replaced. I would never buy another vehicle from this dealer, nor will I ever get service performed there. read more

My experience with Hall Imports was awesome! The car was exactly as advertised, the price was great, no hidden charges of any kind, they even had a game with prizes for my two sons while we were waiting for paperwork.
