The roads are narrow with large boulders on the sides and a narrow bridge to the other side of the campground. Lots of low hanging branches to catch up the coach. We had to wind through other RVs and vehicles to get to our assigned spot. The large trees where so close to the site it was impossible to get in with our 40 foot motorhome and had two large wooden platforms with broken boards covering an open hole and a facet leaking watermarking a muddy mess.They moved us to a back in site that was so narrow our slide was inches from the neighboring RV's awning. This park is not Star-Link friendly.

Also a large spider in the bathtub. Mattresses were the worse I have ever tried to sleep on. There were no box springs, just sheets of plywood. The mattresses were like mostly deflated air mattresses. Stove was leveled and was a safety concern when cooking bacon as the grease would overflow the back of the my griddle. The cookware and utensils were cheap and/or really beat.

Apparently, they have multiple campgrounds with the same and/or very similar names. Best to use Wells address or find the Alpine Inn which is a few miles down the road. Otherwise, a very nice and clean campground. Staff has always been kind with giving directions and helping out. Kids and dogs have fun in the river! A bit far for me to travel from Westchester, but worth it when other campgrounds are booked.

We did wish our 2 boats stuck together during the whole trip though. I was the only one who didn't catch a fish so I guess Aaron took pity and threw in an extra hour to be kind. It was just a slow day for fishing, which was no fault of Aaron's. Our group of 6 caught more than 10 fishes during our 5 hr trip (booked for only 4 hrs), but we only took home 5 because some of the fishes were too old so the meat wasn't advised to eat. Aaron also shared some history about the lake, how people who used to live there were forced to leave in order to create the man made reservoir, it was interesting & I love history. Whenever someone caught a fish, Aaron dropped everything and sprung into action to go catch the fish for us. We also lost our bait or had our hook snagged several times & Aaron helped us all those times. Towards the end of our trip, Aaron filleted the fish for us to take home. My friend's mom actually wanted the whole fish but we didn't know. We took home about 5 fish, so 10 small filets. The fish filets were gone within minutes for dinner lol, it was tasty & tender. It's a different feeling when you catch your own dinner. Aaron mentions that he also will go to Lake George for his service for an additional $100 travel fee. We may go to him again next summer. Limited availability exists for Phish Phan rates, starting out at $17 per night with additional fees depending on number of guests and site type requested. Reasonable by all means in my opinion. According to the website, it appears that sites with water/electric normally go for $30 a night with deals for weekly and monthly stays. What sets this campground apart from others is the staff and the atmosphere. Everyone greets you with a smile and is genuinely interested in maximizing your stay's enjoyment. An atmosphere of community and neighborliness is almost palpable. Regulars stroll by and inquire about the prior evening's concert. Staff role around on tractors kindly rescuing cars and campers from the mud when several days rain renders them lost. Special weekend activities such as Bingo, Parades, Contests, etc. promote activity between sites. There's nothing like sleeping in after a long concert on these quiet grounds, showering off the stickiness from a night of dancing, grilling up delicious meals, lounging amongst the sights and sounds of upstate NY, taking a dip in the pool to cool off, grabbing a frozen treat from the convenience store, and strolling the shaded paths of these grounds in anticipation of another night's concert and following campfire. Sitting on a swing in the early morning, car packed to the brim with what was left of our camping supplies, I felt reminded of the cherished summers I spent at day camps back home. I look forward to another stay on these grounds in future weekend trips to SPAC.

Beautiful view and…read moresecluded area, wood was delivered right to our site, we were able to have a tent up to the right of our site, camp store was great but it wasn't really opened since Covid they said, the bathrooms and showers were immaculate, they even had a band and nice big gazebo area with tables, they also have a big park for kids to play in and also had a lot of activities going on for the kids as well which our kids enjoyed a lot. Dollar general and Stewart's is about 5 mins away.... Also have nice trails to walk on and a beautiful pond to fish and swim in with a nice little beach area. Will be going back again highly recommend. All staff was very nice and helpful.
