Not just because we had come from a day of hiking in the Pisgah National Forest and needed a beer. It really is a great little brewery on par with the best ones in Asheville and with prices less than Asheville breweries. Their Munich Dunkel was a great dark beer with elements of a porter or stout but in the form of a lager. It reminded me of a great beer you'd get in a British or German pub. The schwarz bier, which is akin to a porter or stout, was also excellent. Very balanced and flavorful, without being overwhelming. We'll definitely stop in here for after-hike beers again!

I always liked the beer here & love their Czech One Two so bought a pint for 7.50. Then ordered a half pint. Then ordered a half pint of their black gold porter. When we got the bill I was surprised to note that theyu charged me $5 for each half pint while cost of pints for the porter was $6.50 and for the Czech $7.50. I expected the price to be half of what a pint was like it has been in the past or at other breweries and pubs (Sierra Nevada, etc) We will not be returning.

And other soft drinks. So your designated driver won't feel too deprived. The noise level is quite high in the tap room. Weather permitting there is outside seating, but the menu outside is limited. There is preferred parking near the entrance for zero or low emission vehicles. Unfortunately, the electric vehicle charging ports are no longer in this location. The parking staff said the chargers are in a remote parking area. Never did find them, but fortunately did not need them. We arrived on Sunday around 1 pm and there was no wait. They do activate a waiting list when needed that you can get on as you drive there. Very few reservations are available. Maybe for large groups. But don't worry, they have a lot of seating and the tables turn over readily.

I thought the beers were really good and I liked that there was some that you couldn't find anywhere else . We also ordered some duck fries that were so dang good . As we waited for our food , we went to do a self tour of the brewery and that was great to see the history of Sierra Nevada and the different rooms that the processing occurred in. After our food we cashed out and took the remainder of our beers to their outdoor area . Once you pass by their amphitheater you went down this trail towards a little river and we went farther still and there was this whole field of yard games and tables that you could sit and enjoy right next to the rushing river (French Broad River) . All the staff that we encountered with was very nice and knowledgeable. Just a really fun atmosphere to be in where even the staff looked like they were enjoying themselves .
