This place is out of this world. Always crowded with happy customers. The staff are all so friendly and well trained. And the chefs do a tremendous job. I've probably eaten at Grill-A Burger 30 times. I have to say that it is without a doubt the most consistently great burger restaurant in the Coachella Valley. My go to order is a number two with cheddar and grilled onions and an order of onion rings. The menu is quite extensive, but I can't seem to order anything but a cheeseburger. Grill A Burger deserves the hype as it's an all American fun little burger joint in the desert. I didn't realIze that they were on DDDs with Guy F. But I can totally see why as a good burger and a fun loving atmosphere would be on anyones bucket list. I agree with some of the other reviews that the interior is a little outdated and kooky but that's what makes this place fun and stands out. Would probably be great for kids as it would be super memorable for the younger crowd. Despite the interior we found the restaurant to be clean, tables well spaced out, and it was comfortable. We were seated inside near the bar and we enjoyed listening to the servers and getting an eye on everyone dining, you know, some innocent people watching. The reason we liked the bar area is that gets you closest to Donna. Whose Donna?! If you have to ask then you just need to go and see for yourself. But since this is a review I guess I need to be more detailed. Donna is the best waitress full of fun sass and love. She's who everyone wants to be their auntie (id say grandma but I don't want to insult her). Anyways she's amazing. She was our waitress and she makes you feel like family. She's funny, quick to get you what you need, and has a wonderful attitude. Not a diss on the other staff but I swear she was managing and running about 70% of the tables, that gals got hustle! She's wonderful and I'd come back again just to have her as our server. Anyways the burgers are a 10/10. Delicious, filling, juicy, and just an all around fantastic burger. The menu here is huge! Easily can find something for everyone. They have simple cheeseburgers and then double cheeseburgers with any topping you can dream of. The burgers are really unique and there is no topping missing from this menu. I was also impressed with the Non burger items they have - the avocado fries sounded yum and a gal next to me had chicken strips and that looked really good too. You can come here 50 times and still not have tried all of the menu. Our burgers were fantastic and I feel like that'll be a safe bet every-time. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. Despite being busy they seem to be able to get you in and out quick, but they also don't rush you. All in all this is a wonderful burger joint and should be added to your next road trip for a stop or if your a local that hasn't stumbled upon this spot yet then definitely come support this wonderful business and give them a try! read more

So like everyone else, we saw the restaurant on Triple D and had to stop by on our Palm Desert golf weekend. The restaurant is only a few miles from our hotel so we went in for lunch. The food was perfect. Great burgers and the best onion rings I've had in a long time. Killer shakes made for a perfect meal and we see why Guy likes this place so much. We come out to the Palm Desert area 3-4 times a year, and every trip includes a visit to Grill-A-Burger. The food is always delicious. We like to share the trifryecta which includes French fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. These are great complements to the burgers and hotdogs. The restaurant is at the end of a strip mall. The parking lot can be a challenge to navigate because it is always so busy, but there is plenty of parking. Our only mild issues is with the service because it can be slow because they are always so busy - even at times you would not expect. But it is definitely worth a visit. read more

The food was delicious. I got the Avocado BLT Burger and it was full of flavor and was very juicy. Their fries are crispy and addictive and the lemoade was a perfect balance of sour vs sweet. My husband and I were staying in the area for our anniversary. I posted a question on Instagram asking folks for recommendations in the area and Grill-A-Burger was one that multiple people recommended. I bookmarked it. I ordered the #2 Grill-A-Burger Deluxe Cheeseburger ($12.75) and my hubby got the #28 The Big Mock ($16.75). We ordered sides as well; Hand-cut Idaho Russet Potato French Fries (full order $7.75) and Lord of the Rings (full order $9.25). Since we ordered on the phone and didn't have the menu directly in front of us, we didn't realize the full orders could serve 3-4 people... hahah. We definitely ordered too much food. Nonetheless, we went to a nearby park and ate our food. Yum, definitely love the fries, but they were tag on the salty side (should have asked for no salt). I ordered a lettuce burger and onion rings the price was $25 I returned the onion rings make me a fresh batch in my opinion the second batch came and that was disgusting I asked her how often they change the oil she said once a week then I asked what kind of oil it was she said it was cotton seed I cannot recommend this place my mouth has a terrible aftertaste I feel like I need to go brush my teeth and use mouthwash. read more

Our visit began with a welcome from Manuel, who was very knowledgeable about the menu, and gave us some great advice about where to start as we worked our way through all the choices. In the end, my husband selected the Tuscany burger, a patty topped with a bruschetta mixture of diced vine ripened tomatoes, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic reduction and a touch of garlic! Delicately placed within a toasted Ciabatta bun, covered with Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese and finished with a dollop of basil mayo spread. He was delighted by all the flavors. I selected a bacon cheeseburger, which was juicy and delicious, and dressed perfectly. We decided to order the 50/50 fries and onion rings basket. What a great choice that was. The best part of our meal was the service. Manuel made sure our glasses were refilled, and checked regularly to see if we needed anything. he was personable and friendly, and kept us chuckling throughou the meal. The food is as good as described, but the treatment my family received was so bad I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant, particularly to persons with disabilities. My dad is heavily disabled and uses a walker. When my parents and I arrived to meet the family for dinner my mom saw there were not enough chairs and asked a worker (we learned her name was Nancy) if it would be okay to grab a chair from an empty table. "Absolutely you may not! I was told 8. There are 8 chairs." Mom didn't ask again and tried to go talk to the family to see what they wanted to do and the woman stepped in front of her and raised her voice. "You cannot sit there!" She blocked Mom from going toward us and talked down to her while she just stood there. Then Nancy went to the table and fought with the family member who'd arrived first and told her 8 people were coming. "You said 8! Now you want me to accommodate 10 people." The family member said she thought she had the right number and apologized, she also pointed out that this was 9 people not 10. She asked if it would still be okay to eat here but Nancy walked away. We asked our waiter if the number of people was okay and he said it was fine. When we told him about Nancy's behavior he just shrugged. Then Nancy came back and told my dad he couldn't have his walker inside. We asked if he could sit on his walker at the end of the table since he'd be out of the way and it would take care of the chair issue. She claimed there would not be enough room for people to move. She wanted us to leave it outside the front door. My mom was taking it outside when Nancy blocked her way and said we could put it in the back. Mom said that was alright and she'd take it to the car, but Nancy blocked the walkway, grabbed the walker, and repeated herself loudly until Mom put it in the kitchen as Nancy directed, and Nancy finally allowed my dad a chair to sit on (which we saw there were plenty of in the back of the restaurant). After this, we had a regular server and didn't interact with her again. I'm sure I don't have to point out that a walker is a medical device and is required for his movement. The treatment we received here was not only incredibly unprofessional and rude, but a violation of ADA. ADA for diners requires establishments to provide an appropriate path of travel "clear space for people using wheelchairs, other mobility aids, or service animals, especially when chairs are pulled out and occupied" as well as provide reasonable accommodations. Asking him to put his walker out of the walkway is not against ADA, but the request that we leave it outside, touching it, and the aggressiveness was a violation. As for reasonable accommodation, an extra chair so we could get his walker out of the way would be a very reasonable accommodation, and while we eventually got there, the way we got there was full of disrespect. These are all easy things to do, but instead, we were met with aggressive and ignorant behavior from worker Nancy the entire time. I understand that 9 instead of 8 people was our mistake, but we were calm for every step of this and Nancy was aggressive and extremely rude throughout every moment of the interaction. Not to mention we did check with our server about the party size and would have left if they actually couldn't accommodate us. My aunt also attempted to speak with the owner of the next week but the employees refused to provide contact or even a time they would be at the restaurant to discuss the issue. So no, I do not recommend this place. No food is worth that. read more

I saw a piece that Guy Fieri did on this burger place, and I am so glad I did! I can't remember having a burger this yummy! I sat at the bar and took in all the ambiance. It was a fun place, the servers were friendly and attentive, great service from the moment I walked in. My husband was out of town, and I wanted to see if this was the real deal before he got home. Burgers where mediocre, fries were absolutely poor (limp, soggy, and saturated in oil). The Chicago dog was basically a Costco dog grilled !!! with toppings that give it the look but NOT the taste. Chicago dogs are NEVER grilled. They are made with natural casing beef hotdogs. They must be BOILED and never grilled. They must have a poppy seed bun that is STEAMED and not toasted. This is our "go to" spot for a hamburger in the valley. You can sit inside or out but you might need to wait a little bit if you go outside. There burgers are great and they have a nice beer selection on draft. The burgers are so substantial that we often just share one between us. And you have many, many selections. We like the spiced up ones. They also have a very nice hotdog selection if you're so inclined. And the fries! Might a well get a half order there are so many and there are options if you like garlic fries or sweet potato fries...always tasty and not greasy. Service has always been excellent. You can expect it out and ready to eat in about 15 minutes and before you finished that nice cold frosty glass of IPA. read more

Mmmm "Naughty and Nice" is the perfect meal for me. A huge 8 ounce hamburger patty topped with caramelized onions and mushrooms with a small salad on the side. My dad has been wanting to come here here because he's such a fan of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, our servers Jose and Lorena were so nice and so helpful since it was our first time there. We felt terrible because we came in on a Sunday night at 7 when they close at 8 but they were so welcoming and helpful. We were so delighted with how god the burgers were, I had the OOH LA LA, my mom had the fish tacos and my dad had the bb provolone burger. All amazing but I think I won with the taste contest. We had the half order of garlic fries and onion rings with ranch that you can taste were all house made, they were delicious. I don't live in palm desert but I definitely suggest this as a place to go if you're in the area!! Next time I come back I'll be here. read more
