We were seated fairly quickly and our waiter was quite kind and gave us waters right away. Service overall was a little slow but it was alright. We ordered the BBQ platter and buffalo wings. We got our garlic breads fairly quickly and they were quite tasty and came with a barbecue sauce. They were delicious in their own right but I also liked them with the rest of my meal. The buffalo wings also came afterwards and were pretty standard. I did like them, though they were pricey for $13 for 5 wings. The bbq platter was delicious and huge. The BBQ ribs and tri-tip were delicious and sweet with a good BBQ sauce on it. The tri-tip wasn't tough at all and a good bite. The corn on the cob was standard and I liked eating it with barbeque sauce. The Mac n cheese tasted good but it did seem like it came out of a box. I had never been to a Wood Ranch before, but my father-in-law requested we take him there. The restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 8 without issue, and it was loud enough I did not have to worry about my kids being distracting. The food met my expectations and was enjoyed by my kids who filled up on spinach dip and bread before their meals came out. (also expected) I did make one mistake that I will be sure to correct next time. The kids menu features both pork ribs and a beef rib. I didn't know if the beef rib would be good, so I opted for hamburgers (which the kids were too full to eat) and the pork ribs. Next time I will order beef ribs for my kids and if they are too full to eat them, I have more beef ribs for myself. We will be back at this location. read more

First time back at Wood Ranch near Stevenson Ranch in years. Had it picked up to go and kept it simple with the kids' BBQ beef rib plate just to see where they're at. Glad I did. It comes with one rib, mac and cheese, rolls, and BBQ sauce. I'll be real--I was hoping for two ribs--but the one I got was tender, flavorful, and done right. Nice bark, juicy inside, and the sauce didn't overpower the meat. Mac and cheese was solid, and the rolls are always good--first time for someone with me, and they definitely didn't go to waste. Everything held up great even as takeout. Clean plate. No leftovers. This did exactly what I needed--reminded me why this place has the reputation it does. They called back asking about color of marker on receipt. It didn't have a mark. They then called back again informing me the manager said since it was delivered they couldn't give me any credit for a steak at later time. Just lost a long time customer! We celebrated my brother's birthday at Wood Ranch. My husband and I had not been here for some time. The menu has not changed much. The freshly baked Garlic Rolls were warm and nostalgic. All the women had the BBQ Chopped Salad. My husband had The Ultimate -- this was HUGE. He made quite the mess trying to bite into it until finally giving in to using a knife and fork. All the kids selected from the Kid's Menu. The birthday boy chose Beef Ribs. It was all fresh and well prepared. Good portions. My sister-in-law brought an ice cream cake. Our super-sweet server refrigerated it while we had dinner, then brought it out all set up with lit candles, along with a knife, plates, utensils and extra napkins. Drink refills had to be requested and slow to arrive. But I can look past that given that they were so accommodating to our large party and outside cake. read more

The last time I was at the Valencia Wood Ranch was about 15 years ago, shortly after it opened, as I remember. I didn't consider it a vegetarian-friendly place so I didn't hurry back. But, I wanted to give it another shot since lately I have been pleasantly surprised by a few similar sports bars in greater LA (see those reviews), so why not revisit WR? My immediate impression upon walking in is that, on a late weekend afternoon, Wood Ranch draws a distinctive clientele, i.e., older, steak and potato lovers, sports fans, and beer consumers. Which is exactly the right thing the area needs, set in the middle of some residential complexes that support this very kind of place. In fact, we now have no fewer than a dozen sports bars and restaurants within a few miles of our home -- a sign that these places are thriving and have found their people. I also noticed it was smaller than I remembered, laid out so you have lots of little areas and not one cavernous room. This keeps things intimate and the noise in check. It is clean, cheerful (from the greeters to our upbeat server, Zach), to the mixed genre of music playing at the right volume in the background. There is a large horseshoe bar in the middle and lots of screens to watch sports. The Dodgers and Padres were on, so there was a fair amount of patron reaction, which made things lively and homey. The decor is a little bit dated but then again, the familiarity is what makes it perfect for long time patrons. We had a bright booth next to the large and easy to access parking lot so I could keep an eye on my beloved ebony S80 while we ate. The menu is a meat-lover's dream. We were early enough for the lunch selection and I shot a picture of what was available. Nonetheless, there was enough that we were able to put together an ample assortment of vegetarian and vegan dishes and take our usual bagful home, in nice crystalline plastic containers and a crisp clear bag that Zach thoughtfully brought us. In my photos you can see what we chose. Almost every single item was excellent. The only disappointment was the mac 'n' cheese and only because it was utterly flavorless. However, I had the best veggie burger I have had in a decade, home made, clearly thoughtfully assembled with a delicious variety of vegetables and grains, heaped with onions, lettuce, pickles, avocado, tomato and cheese on what must have been the soft giant bun. Also, the Caesar salad, mashed sweet potatoes, crisp roasted asparagus, and complimentary buttery rolls were all exceptional. The prices are very reasonable. This is a good, solid, comfortable place to enjoy lunch, stress-free. Everything is smoothly done. Zach was super patient, the food came out quickly at the right temps for each dish, nicely plated, in generous portions. It won't be another fifteen years before we return. Happy to have Wood Ranch in our neighborhood. read more

Wood ranch you have my heart with your barbecue chopped salad and the warm rolls. This was my first time at this location, we had a big party but the wait time wasn't terrible for a Friday night. This was one of the hottest days we've had this month (August) and we decided to get seated outdoors as it would be quicker. Sitting outside in the heat isn't always ideal but they had multiple fans going and it cooled the patio pretty quick. Which definitely made for a better experience. Our server did his job and checked up on us a few times. He helped with menu questions and had great recommendations. However some items were forgotten when our food came out and it was bit hard to get a hold of our waiter since he had many tables, which we completely understood. The food was delicious you could taste the smokiness of the grill and everything was cooked to perfection. Some of the members of our party got the baby back ribs and they just fell off the bone. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Wood Ranch. I arrived with my trained service dog, who is protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Instead of allowing us to be seated inside like any other customer, the staff told me that the only place we could sit was outside because of my service dog. A service dog is not a pet, and businesses that are open to the public are required to allow trained service dogs to accompany their handlers anywhere customers are normally permitted. Being told I couldn't sit inside made me feel excluded and embarrassed simply because I rely on a service dog for a disability. I hope Wood Ranch provides better ADA training for its staff so that other customers with disabilities do not have to experience the same treatment. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and have equal access to a restaurant, regardless of whether they have a service dog. read more

I love coming specifically for their lunch special which is 2 sliders of your choice with a soup or salad and a premium side for 18$! I got the hamburger sliders this time with their mashed potatoes and their soup of the day which on Mondays us the Tri tip mushroom soup! I am fixated on this damn soup because it's SO GOOD it might as well be gravy. It's super thick and flavorful. Super comforting, it paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes and complementary bread! My family and I love this location. My wife and I frequently attend happy hour at the bar. My only gripe with this location, and the reason I'm not giving them a five star review is because they have an idiotic TV policy in their bar area. Last night, with the start of the college season upon us, and many good games on television, as well as the Dodgers game, they had two of their 3 TVs playing women's tennis. Needless to say, nobody was watching either of those TVs. When several of us asked that they please put football on the TV we were told that those TVs had already been pre-programmed for those channels. In other words, they refuse to accommodate their paying customers and forced everyone to watch women's tennis. A little later on, the manager decided to loosen up on their dumb policy and changed one of the tennis matches to football. However, she still refused to change the other TV, even though not a single person was watching tennis. It's obvious that they're more than capable of changing the channel for their customers but for whatever reason they were refusing to do so. read more

We attempted to dine at Wood Ranch Steakhouse yesterday with a party of 6 adults and one small child in a highchair. We were told the wait would be approximately 20-30 minutes. We understood there might be a wait, so we were happy to wait. What happened after that was extremely frustrating. We watched multiple parties who arrived after us get called for their tables. At first, we assumed it was because they had smaller parties. However, we then watched several parties of 6 people who arrived after us get seated while we continued waiting. After we had been waiting for about an hour, we asked the server how much longer it would be. We were then told that because we had 7 people, we had to wait for the only table in the restaurant that could accommodate 7 people. We were also told that the family currently sitting at that table had already been there for over two hours, so they had no idea when it would become available. We explained that we only needed 6 seats because our child was in a highchair, but we were told that it didn't matter--the child still counted as a seventh person. At that point, we had already been waiting an hour and 15 minutes, with no reasonable estimate of how much longer we would have to wait. We finally decided to leave. I understand that restaurants get busy and that larger parties can be difficult to seat. What I don't understand is telling a party that the wait is 20-30 minutes, allowing them to wait over an hour, seating multiple parties who arrived later, including parties of six, and then essentially telling us that there was no foreseeable end to our wait. If you cannot reasonably accommodate a party of 6 adults and a child in a highchair, be honest about the wait from the beginning. We would have made a different choice rather than wasting an hour and 15 minutes standing around waiting for a table that apparently wasn't going to become available anytime soon. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for us to leave hungry and very disappointed. We won't be returning. read more

My wife and I visit this Wood Ranch location yesterday to grab lunch when we were in the area. We found parking just fine since this restaurant is in a plaza with many parking spots. When we walked inside, you'll notice that this place is smaller that other Wood Ranch location. We got seated quick at the bar area so I was able to watch the basketball game. Our waiter Kenan was amazing, he was attentive and friendly with us during our visit. I got the Tri Tip steak with fries and my wife got the Asian chicken salad. My tri tip was cooked perfectly at medium and was delicious. My wife thought her salad was okay but it wasn't her favorite. The men's bathroom here is very small with 2 stalls and there no privacy when using the urinal so just be aware of that. read more

We had a reservation with a 15-minute grace period, and since we all arrived right on time, they sat us right away, which I appreciated. Ordering was quick and easy, even with a large group. I ordered a raspberry martini and it was really good definitely my favorite part. For food, I got the chicken sandwich with mac and cheese and fries. Honestly, the food was just okay. The chicken sandwich was kind of eh, nothing special, and the mac and cheese tasted like it was out of the box. Very basic. The people working here were nice, but the food didn't really wow me. Totally wonderful experience. I was there as part of a large group of about 25 people and it was amazing. First of all, major respect for the staff who appeared to pull it off seamlessly. I sat next to the hosts and they were thrilled. The food was magnificent. We started out with a nice variety of appetizers which were yummy but the star is still the meat. I ordered the tri tip which I believe is their signature dish and requested rare because that's how I like my steak. What I got was perfect. Nice and red with a nice char. One of the side dishes I chose was the Mac and cheese which is a thing of beauty and deliciousness that would bring me back all by itself. I recommend the full rack of ribs with a side of Mac and cheese, my stomach was about to explode but it was well worth it. The restaurant was a bit dimly lit so my grandfather couldn't read the menus without his phone flashlight but other than that I cannot think of anything negative about this experience. The evening we arrived in early June was super busy, but they had seating in the bar area for a party of seven in a booth. It was really cramped, but we made it work. Food as usual was delicious! We love the blooming onion appetizer and even the pickiest among our party munched out on it. As always, the garlic rolls rocked along with the barbecue sauce . I ordered online for Mother's Day and ordered a four person value pack for my elderly parents who live in Granada Hills. When I went to pick up the order, my name was mispronounced several times. At one point, a staff member argued with me that I said the name "Cara". Nope. I got to my parents house and realized that they'd forgotten 1lb of brisket. We really enjoyed Wood Ranch. Nestled in the Stevenson Ranch area of Valencia, Wood Ranch is an upscale chain restaurant vibe in a strip mall. In spite of its location, which is somewhat far from the centralized dining hubs in Santa Clarita Valley, this restaurant served better food than many eateries in downtown Newhall and town center Valencia. For dinner, my partner and I split a Wood Ranch BBQ combo and fresh Meditteranean sea bass. However, even before our entrees arrived, we were quite taken by the complimentary bread! Not to mention everything else, the sea bass, ribs, bbq chicken, mac and cheese, all were very satisfying. I would recommend Wood Ranch for an enjoyable night out for dinner.
