Underwhelming. Basically fast food. I ordered a gyro for take out online, arrived when it said it would be ready. By the time I got home 5 minutes later it was quite cold. Clearly was sitting on the counter for a while before I got there. Not sure why they add about 11 fries on top, that added nothing. Also glad I didn't order a side of fries as those were underwhelming as well. I may give it one more try, but I will definitely be eating in the restaurant next time to compare if the gyro is better warm. Note - Order extra Tzatziki. I'm glad I did as there was barely any on my gyro. read more

I have been there twice. It is higher in price than I typically go for fast casual. But, there is a reason. This place is off the charts. My wife and I had the mixed grill the first time. It was delicious and enough for the two of us. When we ordered, we thought we would be hungry after but we were not. We got the 3 meats allowed which we chose gyros, the pork chop and the pork skewars/souvlaki. We loved it all and they put the meat on top of the fries so the juices drip into the meat. It takes a lot for me to go somewhere a second time unless it is a chain as I know with chains what I am getting every time as they are usually consistent. That Greek Joynt even though it is 25 minutes from me, will still be a place I regularly go when possible. So, this second time, I got what I really wanted the first, Skirt Steak sandwich. They do it greek style with all the typical greek seasonings. Now, they do put a lot of onions on it. They were very good and I did not take any off cause they were so good. But, the meat itself is so delicious that the onions do mask the flavor a bit. So, keep the onions but take a few off or get on the side and put them on after your first bite. That assumes you have the ability to put the sandwich down after that first bite. I intended to take some home but that just did not work out. read more

Our second visit, this time carry out and we paid over 6 dollars for the steak and they gave us like 5 tiny pieces. Tons of chicken gyro to cover up for the hardly no steak we paid extra for. Makes me not want to return. This experience turned me off. read more

We had the most delicious lunch at The Greek Joynt today! My family ordered the gyro sandwiches and they were amazing. I am gluten free and I had the gyro sandwich on a gluten free wrap!! That's what my picture is of. It was incredible. The portion size was unbelievable and I can get two meals out of it. The owner and his son both checked on us during our meal so the service was top notch. I love that inside they have remodeled a former auto service station into a bright, cheery space for a great meal. It's super nice and quaint on the inside. We will be back! read more

What a difference this restaurant has made to the corner of wolf road. Just as impressive as the new renovation is the menu at the Joynt. All the usual suspects of gyros and platters, but their Athenian gyro really emphasized what kind of a protein powerhouse this place is. Friendly, fast and fresh! Some of the best chicken & rice I have ever had. I got the 3 meat sampler with authentic gyro, pork kabob & chicken kabob. So far I've tried the chicken souvlaki sandwich, which I enjoyed. Fries are fries delicious. I ordered Greek fries but was given regular fries by accident. My husband gave the chicken gyro a 3 out of 5. Next time he will order a lamb gyro. Definitely check them out. read more

This was my first time going to the Greek Joynt and I could not be happier with my experience! The service was five star and Matthew could not have been more pleasant and willing to go out of his way to explain the menu as well as make some recommendations! The restaurant was bustling with a Friday evening crowd, but the food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. We tried the #1 athenian gyros as well as #6 chicken breast, pita with sides of Greek potatoes and Greek fries. We also ordered some chicken kabobs. The portions of everything were exceptionally generous, all of the vegetables refresh and the gyros was perfectly prepared. We really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back! read more

I was honestly blown away by how good the food was. Usually with gyros and kabobs, especially chicken and pork, I expect at least something to be a little dry but everything was incredibly juicy and flavorful. You can really tell the marinades are done right because the flavor goes all the way through the meat, not just on the outside. The gyros were amazing, and the chicken and pork kabobs were some of the best I've had in a long time. Everything tasted fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. And do not even get me started on the Greek potatoes. They were incredible. Honestly, I wanted to ask for a whole side of the sauce just to dip bread in and snack on all day. That sauce alone deserves its own review. This was my first visit, but definitely not my last. I already plan on coming back and will absolutely be looking into catering for future family events. New place in Wheeling. I am glad I tried this place but I was on way to a Chinese restaurant in the same shopping center but it was Monday and they were closed so I tried Greek Joynt. Fantastic. Price ms were excellent,service was as remarkable, and ambiance was right on time. Clean, friendly, and quick. We must support this place. This was our first visit. We shared the half Greek chicken with Greek potatoes, small Greek salad and avgolemono soup which was plenty of food for the two of us. All were fresh, delicious and authentic. My Greek husband was well pleased. We were excited to find two items other local Greek restaurants don't have- rice pudding and the hot donuts-loukoumadas! dine in area is limited, no alcohol. Prices fair. Many people were picking up take out orders. It was clean and welcoming. We will definitely return. read more

We visited Friday night (4/17). The service was very friendly and attentive. We ate there and had three different people including the owner and partner visit and ask us how we like it. Our gyros, salads and Greek potatoes were all very good, maybe the best gyros I have ever had. The people next to us with the triple pack said their dinner was really good too. The only negative I could point out us they need more seating. When they can open up an outdoor are, that will be great. We will be going back. read more

Given the wrong order twice. I went back with the food and both receipts that were in the bag. I handed them the incorrect order along with the receipt, then showed them the correct receipt and gave them my name. They still came back multiple times asking what I ordered--even though everything was already provided. At that point, how hard is it to simply look in the bag I brought back and see exactly what was returned? They promised free desserts for the inconvenience, which I never received. Got back home again, and the order was still the same one we brought in. Ended up paying more and getting less food. They offered to bring the correct order, but after the repeated mistakes and trying to shift the blame onto me, I declined. If the order had been right the first time, I wouldn't even be leaving this review. Food was average, but there are better gyros at other places. read more

Service was great Had the gyros dinner. Meat portions were more than enough for two meals. Meat was perfectly delicious. The lentil soup was very good and the Greek potatoes were outstanding. I really want to like this place. First time ordered chicken pita- it was awful burnt ends in the entire sandwich. I was so excited to try this place so was so disappointed. Today called order in and told them how awful my experience was the first time so please make sure it's better. She really could have offered a free something but did not. So ordered same thing. Again really bad and fries were cold. Diet Coke was good. Anyway- I may try one more time and order something different because I do want to like it it's so close to where I live. The tortillas were all hanging on the edge of the lid that all of their condiments are stored in. It was really bizarre. She never once inspired me to write poetry about customer service. She wasn't bad, just operating under the unfortunate handicap of looking like she belonged in a magazine instead of carrying breakfast to hipsters with too much disposable income. The chicken and waffles arrived looking like they'd been designed by a committee of Southern grandmothers with a complete disregard for cholesterol or moderation. The chicken shattered under the fork with a glorious crunch that echoed across the room like a rifle shot at dawn. Juicy inside. Properly seasoned. No gimmicks. The waffles were exactly what waffles should be: sturdy enough to support a reckless amount of syrup without collapsing into emotional ruin. However... their syrup suuuuucked! I needed the godd**n jaws of life to get it out of the bottle as it limply drizzled in my waffle at the speed of molasses. The chicken & waffles though? Together they formed one of those rare culinary alliances... Just excellent fried chicken sitting confidently on an excellent waffle, as nature intended. Meanwhile, Nevi drifted through the dining room causing minor traffic accidents in the peripheral vision of every man under eighty. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.
