Always busy with people waiting for a table but not today! We got seated and immediately liked this place. Great menu with a lot to offer. Started off right with really good coffee. The decor was bright, clean and the service staff super friendly and upbeat. Ordered a veggie omelette with hash browns and Greek toast, and challah French toast. We shared our dishes which came out super fast. The omelette looked like a baked omelette that I used to get at Sanders on Touhy Ave. it was excellent and the hash browns were well done and a little crispy. Georgie V's seems to be a Northbrook IYKYK type of restuarant. It's located in the strip mall tucked in the corner near Sunset Foods. I've driven past here a bunch of times without ever noticing this place. I had a few colleagues want to go for breakfast here after work. On a Sunday morning, they are busy but the wait time was maybe 15 minutes for a table of three. We waited outside and the hostess came a got us. Right when we sat down we were given menus and asked if we wanted coffee or anything to drink. Our server came over to take our food order and I ended up ordering the Greek skillet with pancakes. The portion sizes are good to split a meal into two. The flavors were delicious with the feta cheese, spinach, scrambled eggs and hasbrowns. As side pancakes I actually enjoyed that they were the smaller ones. I enjoyed my time and glad I found a new little spot to grab some delicious breakfast. read more

The wait staff immediately ask about your drink and are helpful in making an informed decision on food choices. They have a bar that can make those morning bloody Mary's and mimosas too! This place is cozy. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette with the expectation of normal diner omelette and boy was I wrong! This omelette was light, fluffy, perfectly cooked and used ham off the bone! I honestly haven't had a better omelette since moving to the north shore. Perfect! The hash browns as a side were fine. The iced tea was fresh. Needed some seasoning, but fine. Other than that, the entire meal was perfect. This place was hella lively but something about it just felt right. People, families just enjoying a meal and the company of one another. The food was plentiful and hearty and the waiters were bending over backwards to give the best service possible. I was impressed and, as my mom used to say, "sufficiently suffisified". Their apple pancake is good but not as great as walker bros, eat it with ice cream and it's even better. I really liked their chorizo omelette and my daughter ordered their cheese fries for her side and I myself really enjoyed it. It's not the typical fries with melted cheese on top that could make your fries soggy. The cheese is like baked or fried with it for some reason. How have a lived in Northbrook for ten years and not gushed about Georgie V's to the Yelp community?! Madness! When we moved here my children were in 3rd & 5th grades and Georgie V's Belgian Waffle with strawberries and ice cream became a back to school tradition. They love this treat so much they even emulate it at home occasionally and they are now in college! I've lost track of how many hot chocolates I've bought by son at Georgie's over the years. My saddest memory is them getting rid of the Monte Cristo sandwich...oh how this still hurts my heart. I've also lost count of how many bowls of oatmeal I've had, chicken salad sandwiches I've devoured, and 2x2x2 meals I've shared with my husband over the years. Service dog handlers beware!!! I arrived for lunch this week with my service dog at my side. While it's not required, he had on his red service dog vest and the words Medical Alert. When I asked for a table inside I was told by the owner, Angelo that "I don't allow dogs in my restaurant." I tried to explain the ADA law to him but he brushed me off and said we could sit outside. I handed him a card with the ADA law printed on it with the coordinating contact information. After lunch, I approached him and asked "do you not know the law or do you not care?" at which point he explained to me that people lie all the time about a dog being a service dog so he just doesn't let anyone in and that way he won't get in trouble with the Health Dept. I believe that his policy is actually going to get him in worse trouble by breaking a Federal law. ‍ read more

Came in on a weekday for breakfast around 9am and the place was not busy. I think in my head whenever I picture the inside of this establishment I think small and cramped yet it was not as tight as I imagined. I ordered the lox and eggs scramble. It came with hashbrowns and your choice of pancakes or toast. I chose the pancakes. The eggs were cooked just right for my liking. The pancakes are tasty, though smaller than some other pancakes elsewhere. You get a stack of three pancakes for your side. We also ordered the Dutch baby with berries (this will take about 20mins) as well as the kids silver dollar pancakes meal. If you order coffee they also give you a carafe of coffee that will sit at your table so you can keep your cup full to your own liking. Greek diner fare with some nice surprises on the menu. Went on a Sunday morning and the place was full, but we still managed to be out the door in less than an hour. The owner was on top of it - answering the phone, greeting customers, and working the register, and still managed to spot that my plate was missing a condiment when the waiter brought it out, and mentioned it to him discreetly. I went here with a large group and the service was top-notch! I had a turkey club and it was delicious! Everyone loved their food - a variety of skillets, omelets, and sandwiches. I am picky about my clubs and the Turkey Club I had at Georgie V's was fantastic. I went here for my brothers birthday. It was my first time coming here and honestly I will not be returning. The place looks cute but that's all they have going for them. Firstly, the water cup I was given had a fly smushed into the rim of the glass, gross. I don't know how the waiter did not see this? Or if he did why he proceeded to serve it? Anyways, the food was mediocre and not prepared to the quality I expected given the predominantly positive reviews. I ordered the 2 eggs with bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. The bacon was chewy (which I realize some people prefer). The hash browns were unsalted. The pancakes has a slightly burned taste. And finally, my eggs were runny. Wait, I know what you're thinking... what's wrong with runny eggs? Well, I was asked how I wanted them. And I happen to not like runny eggs, they are too slimy for my taste, so I ordered them over medium. Unfortunately they were not over medium. So I am questioning why they even bother asking if they are just going to make them their way anyways. Needless to say I was disappointed. Honestly, you're better off going to Brunch Cafe off of Lake Cook in Deerfield or even IHOP lol. At least when I ask for eggs over medium there I actually get that. read more
