Everything was good but what makes Grill Hut great is their meat! This was the best steak kebab I've ever had at a restaurant. Everywhere I go overcooks it and it's fine. But here the meat was soooo tender and easy to eat. The flavor was amazing. The staff is friendly and the store is clean. This particular experience was 3 stars due to the wait time. Our two plates took 20 minutes to come out. It did look like they were very busy with an online order. I don't hold it against them and don't think it was bad service but it was a bummer since we only had 45 minutes before picking up our kids and half of it was spent waiting. Man, oh man, I am disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite places to go. Unfortunately, $16 for a ground. Beef kebab plate is outrageous. It's ground beef, rice and salad. I can understand steak I can understand fish and other seafood being more expensive chicken is rather accessible and ground. Beef is not as pricey unfortunately, the last time I came here the prices were about $11 for a ground beef plate now it's costing 16. I'm sure it has something to do with the new location potentially and cost of going up however your pricing customers out, especially on cheaper items in the marketplace that you can get. If I get the itch, maybe I'll go back but honestly, I don't see myself returning to grill hut anytime soon read more

They moved down a few doors but like just 100 feet. Same mall where Board and Brew, Rubios are... lots of parking and lots of choices. The chicken kabob plate is really good and won't make you feel guilty. Service was nice and fast so no worries there. Salad dressing seems to have a bit of mustard in it and it's good but would have preferred tahini or garlic based dressing for a Mediterranean meal.. maybe that's just me. read more

Grill Hut is a fast service food joint in the Laguna Hills area, in a marketplace with a lot of food and shopping options. It is conveniently located near where Alicia Parkway and Pacific Park cross. My overall experience is OK. The meat was properly cooked with a decent amount of seasoning. The rice was individually fluffy but nothing to write home about. The hummus was OK and definitely leaned on the thick and savory and slightly grainy side. I had a chicken kebab plate with basmati rice and hummus for around $17. The area is lovely on a sunny day. It is great to sit outside. The food is good enough and nice and clean. Overall, my experience was fine. Somehow forgot to eat lunch today then realized I was hungry around 2pm. Was going to stop at the fast food asian chain in this plaza but saw Grill Hut nearby and wanted to try it out instead. Wasn't too hungry so I just ordered the kid's ground beef kabob (includes sauce, half a pita, and rice). The kabob was tasty! Pita and sauce were okay and the rice was a bit oily/buttery. The wait wasn't too long and the kid's meal portion was pretty good. The shop is small but there are tables outside too. While waiting for my food, a gentleman was ordering his meal and it seemed like it was also his first time. He was a bit overwhelmed by the menu and I thought the worker could have been more helpful and patient. He had a lot of questions and the worker was a bit short with him. I enjoyed my kabob! Grill Hut used to be our favorite local kabob shop since we moved to Laguna in 2018. We ate there 3-4 times a week for the 4 months we were remodeling our kitchen and afterwards at least once a week throughout the years we've lived here. Quality used to be good and so were the prices. However; it's been disappointing for a long time now: poor quality food (very chewy steak and on couple of occasions the kabob smelled/tasted expired), extremely small portions, and double the previous prices. It's really unfortunate as they really had the tastiest steak kabob. The chicken kabob's size is now next to nothing, my chicken kabob wrap was literally filled with lettuce and two small pieces of chicken and since we typically get food to go we are hit with disappointment when we eat at home. After the last bad food we had we completely stopped going there given there are other local options, such as Fennel a few minutes down the road. If we are paying close to $20 for a kabob plate we might as well dine in a restaurant with nice atmosphere, bar, larger portions, and most importantly better quality food. read more

This place has gone downhill. Been eating at both this and the MV location for years. This review is for this location (Laguna Niguel) only, as I've had two bad experiences after eating the food. The chicken was good, but the rice was very oily and the salad a bit wilted. I did not feel good shortly after finishing my chicken kabob plate and woke up sick in the middle of the night. I can't say for sure it was the food, but it's the second time I've felt sick after eating at this location so I won't return. When this place opened years ago they had the best food and service I think because the owner was there all the time and he greeted everyone. Now the service is awful food is ok . And if you don't tip the cashier they serve your food last. We were just here and my mom ordered a simple wrap but she didn't tip the cashier. The female cashier attitude changed and we waited 23 min for a simple wrap and I counted 4 people that came after us got served before us and that was after asking them twice about my mom's order.
