I've visited Panini Kabob Grill at three different locations. This is probably my favorite location for pick-up. Their location at the Irvine Park Place is my favorite for dining in. I usually order the Fresh Atlantic Salmon Kabob, but decided to try something different. I went with the Beef Koobideh Kabob this time. I also ordered a tofu skewer a-la-cart. I ordered ahead online. Parking in the immediate area can be fairly limited, but the location is near the Kaleidoscope, so there are parking options available. You'll just have to walk further to get to the restaurant. Inside, the atmosphere is normal. It's not too bright, but just right for a nice dinner. When I arrived at the front desk, I was immediately greeted by friendly staff who retrieved my order. I didn't have to wait as they had my order ready as confirmed via text/e-mail. When I got home and opened the food, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the take out. The portions are the same as if you're dining in. The beef was seasoned perfectly and so was the tofu. The rice and even the Ceasar salad were great. We ordered from Panini Kabob Grill, and unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we have ever had. As clearly shown on our receipt, we ordered Basmati Rice with our Family Combo. However, what we received was not the basmati rice we ordered. It looked like they may have run out of the proper rice and simply mixed two different kinds of rice together. Part of it was white rice and the other part was a completely different brownish rice. Even worse, both were extremely cold, almost ice-cold, and honestly not edible. When we called the restaurant to explain what happened, instead of apologizing and taking responsibility, we were told they do not give refunds and could only offer a credit. We agreed to the credit, but then they asked us to send a photo to prove that they had made the mistake. I was genuinely shocked by the way this was handled. The amount of money involved was not even significant. The rice was probably worth around $15 or so. This was never really about the money. It was about the way the situation was handled. A simple apology and a reasonable effort to fix the problem would have been enough, but instead the interaction felt dismissive, defensive, and completely lacking in customer care. On top of that, we had an available reward in our account for a free hummus and pita. The reward was clearly showing in our account at the time of the order. We called the restaurant and asked about using it, but they simply told us they would not provide it. Again, no effort to help and no concern about keeping a returning customer happy. Unfortunately, this was not our first bad experience with this location. On one of our previous orders, we ordered and paid for two tiramisus, but only one was delivered. By the time the order arrived and we noticed the missing item, the restaurant was already closed. We called the next day, and unbelievably, they told us that we should have called the previous day. How exactly were we supposed to call when the restaurant was already closed? They did nothing to resolve that issue either. I have written reviews for many restaurants and businesses, and I am in the top 2% of Google reviewers. I take reviews seriously and try to be fair, detailed, and accurate. I do not write negative reviews lightly, which is exactly why I feel strongly about sharing this experience. Out of the many places I have reviewed, this was genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. Mistakes can happen at any restaurant. A missing item, a wrong side, or an incorrect order can happen. What matters is how the restaurant responds afterward. Unfortunately, every time we have had an issue with this location, the response has been dismissive, unhelpful, and unwilling to take responsibility. What is most surprising is that this restaurant seems willing to lose loyal customers over a very small amount of money rather than simply doing the right thing. Between the incorrect and ice-cold rice, the missing tiramisu from a previous order, the refusal to honor a reward that was clearly available in our account, and the way we were treated when we called, we have completely lost confidence in this location. We have ordered from Panini Kabob Grill before and would have happily continued ordering, but unfortunately this will be our last time. The food mistake itself was disappointing, but the customer service was far worse. Customers should not have to argue, prove obvious mistakes, or repeatedly chase a restaurant to receive what they paid for or what is clearly offered in their account. Very disappointing experience. The customer service at this location is truly terrible, and it is unfortunate to see a restaurant lose customers over issues that could have been resolved so easily with a little professionalism, accountability, and care. read more

This is Chicken Shish Kabob I normally order for take out . recently I notice the amount of food is shrinking! I picked up my order and I came home , I see just the amount of rice almost half , tomato & pepper just a very small piece & chicken kebab is less then original size!!! So disappointing, I feel like they cheat customers and cut the amount of food and price is gone up! I don't appreciate this, wont recommend people to go there and I will stop ordering food from there. This my go to place when craving mediterranean food. I usually place an order to go with their easy on line ordering or when ordering large family orders. The chicken kabob is always so tender and flavorful & veggies are always grilled to perfection. Their salads are always fresh & they have different options to choose from. Service is great, however there can be a small wait when picking up your order since they tend to be very busy when it comes to pick up orders during dinner hours. This was my first time to visit this adorable(feels like a family run) grill. It's on the Busiest street Crown Valley inside the Kaleidoscope mall. However., on the inside it doesn't feel this way. I wasn't over the top hungry. And decided to have their chicken soup. They claim that it is just like what mom makes. They are correct, it is delicious and fresh packed with delicious chicken and vegetable vegetables. Honestly... better than what I could make. It was my first time at Panini Grill, it is located in Kaleidoscope and the parking is a bit tricky here. We got the family platter and we got chicken and ground beef skewers. It also comes with 2 salads which we picked the Caesar salad and the Mediterranean Greek salad. Both salads were fresh and delicious. The portion was huge for this platter and the roasted veggies were grilled perfectly. We also got the pesto chicken panini sandwich and it was also very yummy. We enjoyed sitting in the patio area. This location is in the Kaleidoscope. There is structure but kinda tricky to get here. We parked on the 2nd level underground and walked up the stairs to get to the side then entered from the side. There is parking right next to the restaurant for pick up only. First time dining in person, seat anywhere you like and the servers come to give you a menu. We enjoyed: Lamb plate with the strawberry salad and bulgar. (Ordered a side of yogurt sauce to dip my meat in) Chicken pasta Alfredo. Chicken kabob with the avocado salad. I honestly love going to Panini Kabob Grill. It is one of those places that is always consistent, which I really appreciate. The food tastes super fresh every time, and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. I asked for the salad ahead of time since my husband received his ahead of time. I was told by the server that he couldn't and that it has to come on the plate. If I wanted it ahead of time I would have to pay more. I don't think the customer should be charged more to have the salad cold rather than next to food that is hot. We've been loyal customers of Panini for many years, but today's experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered a family takeout (2 chicken, 1 lamb, and 1 koobideh), and unfortunately, everything was undercooked--completely raw meat and even the rice was not properly cooked. The food tasted very bad, and I ended up throwing away over $90 worth of food. If I had been dining in, I would have returned everything immediately and asked to speak with the chef. We have ordered The family Style combo (4) and we chose the beef instead of all chicken we did have to pay extra for exchanging the chicken to beef but it was worth it because it was truly yummy!!! We had a not super great experience today for the first time after very many. We got it to go for the first time. Our drinks were forgotten about, and the new woman we saw today was not friendly, and seemed very annoyed. The chicken soup is our FAVORITE, but today for the first time it was mostly fat pieces and was not shredded breast meat. They also did not include the bread they always include- even on our to go home orders after dining in. I hope they didn't change the recipe? The rice was undercooked, the chicken appeared undercooked, and the food was served cold. To make matters worse, the salad portion was about half the size of what they usually serve. It even seemed like they were cutting corners by not including onions on the platter. The overall quality and presentation were disappointing compared to previous visits. I spoke with the manager, Kevin, about the issues, but he did not offer any solution or attempt to make things right. I've enjoyed this restaurant in the past, which makes this experience even more disappointing. We've been coming to Panini for at least 10 years when they were in Aliso Viejo, then followed them when they moved to the Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo. Whether we order for small parties of 30 people, or picnics, or dinner, their food has always been consistent! The kebabs are always deliciously prepared; the chicken kabob is Wayne Farms Fresh Chicken with No Antibiotics and it's marinated and grilled to perfection along with their grilled vegetables. The BEEF KOOBIDEH KABOB is the best around! It's Charbroiled, All Natural, Antibiotic-and-Hormone Free Seasoned Ground Beef from Cedar River Farms and they are tender, and seasoned just right, it's my favorite! The Charbroiled Fresh Sustainable Atlantic Salmon is moist and flakey, perfectly cooked. The grass-fed lamb is tender and full of flavor. We usually order the Mediterranean salad, which is a combination of greens that are fresh and crisp, kalamata olives, cucumbers, and sprinkled with feta and an oil & vinegar base salad dressing that has just enough sweetness. I absolutely love their bulgar wheat (rice selection) it's fluffy and tasty! They say 20 min, we arrive 20 min later, and then end up waiting 20 min in the restaurant EVERY SINGLE TIME. I recommend this business in all locations for dine in. This location has least comfortable atmosphere (busy intersection, noisy, not cozy. But the food is usually great unless you order to go. There seems to be issues as I have been using the app when I do Christmas shopping at the mall and pick up a quick dinner. Last time I tried the falafel appetizer and learned if you select "cucumbers" you are not adding them but taking away the pita. You can't eat falafels and hummus without pita bread! I had to go back in and buy some and the young lady at the register was very unfriendly. I think the servers at this location are great but Mgmt needs to train the people behind the counter better. There's no customer service skills at all and the last time I was there a few days ago they asked someone in the back to give me the avocado dressing I asked for and then I left and it was a totally different dressing. I ordered the falafel wrap. I wasn't pleased with the way they grounded up the falafels instead of leaving them whole as ball-shaped. It felt like I was eating recycled falafel. And there wasn't very much ground falafel inside the wrap. I don't know if they do that on purpose so they can use less falafel? If this was just a mistake I'd like to know because I do like to order vegetarian whenever possible.
