We came here for dinner on our last day in Washington DC. When we arrived, there were already a few patrons at the restaurant dining in and a few waiting for takeout orders. You can order at the counter and there is also a kiosk near the entrance. We opted to use the kiosk to order our food. We ordered one chicken samosa, one veggie samosa, one curry platter, one gyro platter, and one lassi. The food was seasoned pretty well, and portions were very generous. We were stuffed by the end. One thing that could be improved is adding a description of what is included in each dish on the kiosk. After placing our order, a staff member informed us that the curry platter would not contain any meat, which we were okay with. There is a restroom available at this location. read more

Echoing previous reviews, the food quality is decent but it is very overpriced. We ordered only one entree, beef and chicken combo with 2 bottled water and some fries and this was over $40!! At other restaurants you can get similar quality food for nearly 1/2 the price. At the Dc Location the self service kiosk is broken and there are barely any employees around so it can be challenging to order. Wow! This place is such a gem. I got the chicken kebab platter which comes with salad, rice (two types), naan, and chickpeas. So delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the chickpeas so savoury. I really liked the white sauce and green hot sauce. You can walk in and order on the screen or order at the counter. It does take some time for your order to come out (I waited ~10 min) but the food was fresh. Highly recommend. Portions were big and the people working at the front were very nice. It's a bit of a no-frills casual place, I like takeout from here but you can also sit and eat there. My new go-to spot! read more

My order was completely wrong and when I asked about it, the owner was saying I ordered something completely different. I was given a lamb gyro (I prefer to not eat lamb and therefore order chicken) and so I know it was something I would not have ordered. I had their lamb kabobs as well as their chicken. In terms of kabobs I'm always a little resistant to get chicken because sometimes it's dry. This chicken was AMAZING! Their sauce was made to complement everything on the plate. The service was good. The person helped me decide on what to order. I waited just under 20 minutes for them to prepare the food, and got it PIPING HOT. The falafel is OK, but the amount of food/portion size was generous. I loved the yogurt sauce (creamy but not TOO creamy, flavorful and refreshing) and the green sauce (nice and spicy but not TOO spicy). The chicken sandwich had really good amount of juicy chicken chunks - cooked well and flavorful. There is a good balance of acidity, crunch, heat in each bite there. Would get again - 4.9/5 (just because I'm not too into the perfect score). The falafel platter had a salad that came with it and rice. This was okay in flavors, maybe 3/5. I wasn't sure whether to pick up lunch from here due to the mixed (3.6 stars) reviews but having tried the food I feel compelled to come on here to defend this place from the fussy raters of yelp. I ordered the chicken and kubideh (ground beef) salad, which came with bread, salad, some lentil soup, and two skewers of meat. The kubideh is spiced and seasoned perfectly, just perfectly. The chicken is unbelievably tender and juicy, given that its breast meat. The side sauces (green and white) are very tasty. This place is a joke. $11 for a "salad" of iceberg lettuce and a few pieces of chicken. The dressing is supposedly made of mayonnaise. I thought the order taker misspoke, but being cautious requested it on the side. Low and behold, it's actually a thinned out mayo with some kind of tasteless green herb blended into the sauce. There's nothing middle eastern about adding mayonnaise to anything. There's nothing traditional about this place other than using the name kabob to describe the skewers they serve. I am eating low carb and wanted kabobs with a side salad. They seemed to have difficulty taking orders with any changes other than just ordering via number. I had to take some stuff back and didn't get a dressing flavor that I wanted. The kabob was just okay and the rest was disappointing. I got bread I didn't want, wrong dressing when I ordered vinaigrette. Really dislike ranch dressing and they included two of those, no yogurt sauce or vinaigrette. Very inauthentic flavors for kabobs to serve with ranch dressing. Meh, nothing to recommend in particular but if you were nearby and wanted fresh bread, that looked like the best part and I don't eat that. This is my favorite place to go in the area for kabob, the food is always so delicious and the people that work there are very kind. Stopped ny here late last night after I realized that a kabob place was nearby. The staff here was very friendly and the restaurant is very nice. I made a take out of lamb plate with salad, white, and seasoned rice. The lamb was a tad overcooked but still very tasty. The seasoned rice was delicious. The salad was ok but nothing special. The pita was incredible and probably one of the best I have had in some time. I would give it another go bit maybe earlier when the lamb is more tender. read more

Given the price and the overall rating, I wasn't expecting much. But since I'd never come here again likely, I figured I'd try the most, with the lamb and chicken kabob place. Color me surprised when the food was actually solid. The kebabs were both seasoned and spiced well, and were very tender. The rice actually had seasoning and wasn't just bland Basmati. The food wasn't really greasy, but had the right amount of carb heaviness you needed. While I loved everything I had, a quick caveat that my friend's falafel sandwich was heavy on the tzatziki - maybe not the best if you're lactose intolerant. The bathroom is either $2 or there's a code at the bottom of your receipt. One of the best samosas that I've ever had, seriously. Do yourself a favor and order one of these, thank me later. The 2 sauces that come with your meal are also delicious, my favorite is the green (spicy) sauce, however the white sauce was also tasty and both are very flavorful. As far as covid precautions, there are signs on the door that instruct employees and customers to wear masks and there are signs that encourage social distancing. There's also plexiglass barriers and hand sanitizer at the register for customers to use. It wasn't busy when I went, but I did wait about 10 minutes because they grill the food after you order it. It doesn't look like a fancy spot, but the food quantity and flavor was enough to win me over. Expect to wait about 10-15 minutes for your order as they grill the meats after you order. The sauces are white and green chili, although D did not find their white sauce to be as flavorful as Halal guys or some other locations, I found it to be good. I have ordered it two days in a row for when I'm working late night and need to bring a dinner box. Prefect to eat even when cold because it holds up great. The steak was very tough, but the chicken has good flavor and was well seasoned. I have stuck to the gyro salad and it's always a huge box with lots of meat. Way more than I can finish for one meal.
