    Fried green Tomato app.

We celebrated a Sosrority Sister's birthday yesterday at Grille. The Rest reservations are a breeze! The man who greeted us acknowledged it was a birthday which was a nice touch. We came at an odd time of day at 2:00 which is kate for brunch and all they serve at that time is brunch with dinner starting at 3:00. Our server did a great job and was kind, helful, and proficient. Brunch is boring to me and frankly, I'm bored of the Grille menu. I wish they would offer more seasonal offerings, although they did have a card with two dishes printed on it, one of which was a salmon BLT. I thought they missed the mark on not having a Grille on Main branded birthday card signed by the staff for my friend since I included that information on my reservation. We did enjoy our visit to Grille and the dishes, although getting boring for me, were all good.

While traveling on business stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Was greeted and seated immediately. Restaurant is very welcoming and inviting. The food was very good, the bread pudding was excellent. In my opinion service could have been better, restaurant wasn't very busy, only saw our waiter a couple of times. Had another waiter stop to refill our drinks. Food is very good!

    Blackened Redfish

Hubby, in-laws, and parents all came here following our Bible convention and it was the best ever! I ordered the redfish with pickled slaw and parmesan grits - everything paired so nicely. Hubby had burger and fries as a classic. Not pictured was my parents' two orders of short rib which was so flavorful and melt in your mouth! Chef's kiss for sure on that. In-laws had side ordered and baked chicken which they also enjoyed. One of my favorite parts of the restaurant was the homage to Huntsville and rocket center with the sparkling ceiling lights.

New Zealand Lamb Chops with green beans and mashed potatoes

This was my second time at Grille on Main. Each time I ordered the same dish...trout. Each time it was consistent with freshness and taste. The lamb chops were huge and tasty. I don't always do dessert but tried the cheesecake. It is delicious. It is made fresh and it is obvious. It is light and not overly sweet. The service from the hostess to our service was professional. The ambience was grown and cozy. Great date night spot.

I ordered the NY strip cooked medium. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was well prepared and flavorful. The green beans were way too undercooked and the mashed potatoes had no flavor with a consistency of baby food. I'd love to show you a photo of the lobster tail I ordered, but the servers forgot about it under the heat lamp for at least 20 mins. It was tough and covered in enough Old Bay seasoning to render it too salty to eat, so I sent it back. Service was average overall. If you want to charge $40+ for a steak and $24 for a lobster tail- your service needs to be on par and having a single dish inedible is the kiss of death. I definitely won't be back under the current management. I could've had a better meal at a chain restaurant like Outback. One final thought- they initially sat three grown men of average build at a booth meant for two people. We asked to be moved to a table and they did, but it was clear they weren't happy about it.

The ambiance is divine! The service is exceptional. The food worth celebrating! Hands down one of the gems here in HSV. We make a special visit every holiday season we are always impressed and readily reminded why we adore this local spot!

Food was excellent.. service was ok. We stayed at a nearby hotel that gave us a 10% off card for this restaurant and others. They did not honor the discount claiming they have been trying to get their name off the card. We tipped 15%... normally tip quite a bit more. We recouped our $30. Other restaurants honored card

Great service, food was amazing. We tried the short braised beef and the apple cinnamon galette. Sofia was our server and she was very honest about her recommendations and attentive to our table.

This is my favorite restaurant in Huntsville. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Today I had cobb salad with cheddar instead of blue cheese. Amazing!

3.5 stars Came here for lunch on Memorial Day. It wasn't very busy, and although we initially came for the aesthetics, we opted to sit outside given the pleasant weather. **Pros:** The establishment looks nice aesthetically, and sitting outside offers a pleasant view of the fountain and hanging tea lights, adding a nice ambiance. **Cons:** The service was mediocre. The hostess sat us promptly and gave us food menus but neglected to provide drink menus. We were later told by our waitress that they don't offer a drink menu for the lunch crowd, which seemed odd, but she brought us out a couple anyways. Our waitress was competent but somewhat lackadaisical. It took her longer than expected to bring our waters, and after serving our food, she didn't check on us until the end of the meal. The food was okay--not great, not exceptional, just okay. I ordered the Crispy Brussels, which were good but not the best, and the street tacos. The braised beef tacos were juicy with no complaints. My husband's burger was just okay, but our drinks were decent. As visitors to the area, we probably won't return, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to others.

Lunch - Hand Pressed Black Angus Burger
    Erika M.

This is a beautiful restaurant. We went for lunch on a Saturday and the place was nearly empty. The ambiance is very elegant and upscale. Our seating arrangement was in a booth in the main dining area, but it still felt very private. They have ample seating--indoor and outdoor, and even have a private dining room; so this place would be perfect for a private party. The main attraction during our visit were the warm biscuits with honey butter. Everyone in our group really loved them. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT. It was a good sandwich. I've never had fried green tomatoes before and still enjoyed this. I would say it is a little on the drier side, so I would recommend ordering an extra side of the aioli because it really needs more sauce. I also really liked the parmesan fries that came with. They were delicious. My husband ordered the Black Angus Burger and he really enjoyed it. It was flavorful and cooked well. My kids ordered the grilled cheese and cheeseburger. They were very generous portions. The staff was also nice enough to switch out one side of fries for fresh fruit. It's not usually offered with the kid's menu, but they made the accommodation for us. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the food is good. Would love to return and try other things on the menu!

Shrimp Dinner - Gulf Shrimp & Falls Mill Grits Dinner
    Fred B.

Megan was our waitress and she did an outstanding job. Excellent food and a good selection of wines by the glass. Steak was tasty although not a prime cut to my estimation. Shrimp and grits were excellent with a lot of shrimp. Nice place and first time here. Had the butter cake for dessert and it was very nice. Definitely be back soon.

    Filet, whipped potatoes, & brussels

Great food & great service! Not a long wait on drinks, apps, or entrees! We went with the Parmesan fries & fried tomatoes for apps, filet & chefs special and ended with the chocolate trio for dessert.

    Lovely day for brunch!

Potatoes nicely whipped hearty and full of flavor. The sauce was light and complimented the chicken well. Steak Frites uhhhh it was so delicious!! My daughter order it and she is 10 and she could cut the steak on her own. Buttery and juicy! Truffle fries came with the steak. Lastly, my husband had the red snapper with cheddar grits! Honey he cleaned that plate. None of us left a crumb! We will definitely be back for a date night! Char will be on our regular rotation!! I hear the Brunch is Amazing!

The sangria was so good I finished it and slurped the bottom of the cup. The fried green tomatoes, a dish we've had every time we ever visited, were fabulous. The andouille sausage remoulade served with it is tangy, creamy and just slightly spicy. Epic. But the chicken Parmesan... that humble dish of which I had no expectations would be dynamic... that was the BEST chicken Parmesan I've ever had, head and shoulders above any Italian restaurant in the city. Great place to chill drink some wine. Even cooler on a date for a nice quiet time relaxing. Denise really knew the menu and chefs. I went with the canadian bakin baguette and farmers market plate with chicken. The baguette was warmed nicely and the garlic spice butter was really good. The farmers market plate was a great surprise. All the veggies melded together perfectly. The flavor profiles with tomatoes, watermelon radish, asparagus, brocolini.... was awesome. Add in a little salty spice with sweet potato mash at the bottom. Dayum great dish. I did get the chicken with the dish. Totally not needed, the veggies carried the day. Minor feedback for the chicken would be a char on the chicken to go with the dish. I forgot about the duck fat fries and ordered them. Almost perfect. They came out piping hot with great flavor. The curry catchup and garlic aioli were great. Minor feedback is the fries did not appear twice fried. They were good but that would be the additional touch. I will count the fries as dessert. They were delicious, definitely a shareable side, I did my best on my solo date. Service continued to be amazing. Cheyenne was our server and she did a good job! She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable! Cheyenne brought us complimentary biscuits and butter (or maybe another type of sauce) that my Sisters said were delicious! They were extra fluffy and baked correctly. We three shared the Steak Egg Rolls that were actually really good, very creamy and rich, and unique. I did not try the sauce/sauces that came with them. They were served at the correct temperature and a nice, rich appetizer that I would recommend! Sister #1 ordered the "Stoney River Breakfast Skillet" which was attractively plated in a skillet and appeared to be the correct temperature and her eggs were cooked to her liking. She was off put by the cheddar cheese that topped the skillet off - it looked very artificial (meaning bright orange yellow) and as if, instead of cheese, the egg yolks were sort of sitting atop the skillet. She's not a huge complainer and she finished the skillet. Sister #2 ordered the shrimp and grits, described as "...Cajun sauteed shrimp, Worcestershire cream reduction, bacon, cheese grits." The plate looked nice; however she said the shrimp were "beyond rubbery and more of the texture of shoe leather." I kept encouraging her to send it back and order something else and she said she said she was "hungry and it is edible." She did say the grits were excellent. Sister #1 and I tasted the sauce of the shrimp and grits and both of us found it very "tomato flavor forward and oddly sweet." Christine's lunch was a disappointment. Also, she should have sent the dish back, in my opinion, I'm sure Stoney River would have made it right. I got the small filet, I think it was seven ounces, cooked medium rare with asparagus. You get one side with this dish which is fine. The steak, once again, was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly with no need to add any salt/pepper and it was nicely seared! The steak was delicious! We had wine, which was good, too! We did not get dessert and were offered more "biscuits" to go (which seemed odd to me, it was like 2:30 in a very hot afternoon and I wasn't interested in carting biscuits around in a hot car); however, it was a thoughtful gesture. Last comment I have is no fault of Stoney River's, it's a "Clift Farms" thing, at least the Development Fee is Clift Farms specific, I don't know the "wine tax" fee. I really dislike fees. My $200.00+ bill included a three percent "development fee" of $5.58, a "Wine Tax" of $4.18 (I've never seen that before, what is a wine tax?) and regular "Sales Tax" of $6.36. Thank you for the friendly professional service and the extremely clean, comfortable in-person restaurant dining experience!
