Walking in it looks quaint. The food is microwaved. Only thing fresh is the eggs. I ordered my hash browns well done. What I got was brown on top and raw inside. I sent it back and got the exact same result back. At this point everything else is cold and I want nothing to do with it. I said that to the waitress and she brought out a box and wanted me to take the food. 10 minutes later I was finally able to leave and pay for my husband's food. Worst experience. Every time I ride pass this place it's jumping! Decided to wake up and bring the family here for breakfast. The inside is small and slightly dated but the atmosphere is amazing! Our family of six visited here today. The service was friendly and personable. I couldn't have asked for a better waitress and the food was plentiful and delicious. We ate here for $38 but honestly we would have paid more. They have an extensive list of sides and several Mon-Fri daily specials. Breakfast is served ALL DAY! We typically enjoy our food here, mostly. Today, we ordered breakfast platters, and there was no mention that at least 2 of the items we ordered they were out of. Our waitress first brought us only a part of a breakfast platter, then told us they were out of one of the main dishes. She then gave substitutions which we were forced to make and were made based on another item that we were told they were out of after they brought out the substitutions. Who eats gravy without a biscuit? Who eats sunny side up eggs without grits? They gave us the run around and made no attempt at successions and even charged us for the items they were out of. Definitely a small local diner, it was completely packed for breakfast, and I can understand why. Prices were more than reasonable for their delicious home-cooked food. I got the nutella french toast with hashbrowns and bacon. Amazing. When I went for dinner it wasn't as packed, but that doesn't mean it's any less in taste quality. Great omelettes...South of the Border omelette with salsa and sour cream is great and you can easily add bacon or other items to it. Breakfast is served all day. I'm giving Grillworx 5 stars as this is a perfect "southern" grill. Yes, they have "real" mashed postatoes! The all day breakfast is very good and great biscuits. I've had the eggs, gravy, grits, pancakes, etc and they are always good. My favorite menu item is the country fried steak with the brown gravy . The chicken and dumplings I believe are what they are most known for. When I've ordered it the only negative is that I want more of them. The burgers are very good and cover the entire bun, unlike what someone reviewed. Onion rings are excellent! This place is packed even on Monday morning. Be prepared but the crowd moves rather quickly. Service is very good and most friendly. Various age groups go. I go here often when in the area. read more

The food is okay, but what really gives this place such a terrible rating is the service. I've tried going back to this place a numerous times and all but one of those times has been awful. Honestly the wait staff is just plain rude. Every time I have gone to this restaurant I have felt uncomfortable. I was always given the impression that I was totally inconveniencing my waitress when asking for something. My last, and final, time at this establishment my party ordered waters and most of us also ordered coffee. The coffees came, but the waters never did. When our food came out I asked very politely if we could have some water. To this the waitress responded "well what kind of water do you want?" What kind of question is that? If someone wants hot water they'll ask for it and on top of that this isn't some fancy place with different types of water. I stayed calm and said "just regular drinking water would be fine, thank you." When she returned she slammed our waters on the very edge and walked off. Then I saw her talking to other waitresses and pointing at us. I was totally perplexed. I had no idea what we had done to deserve this. I started paying attention to the service other tables were receiving and noticed that they were being rude like this to everyone. I couldn't believe it. Grill Worx is a nice place to try for your classic southern style fare. For comfort food like this, you cannot worry much about the calories, just enjoy the taste. Lots of choices, but breakfast is served all day and I go for that. The breakfast offerings are an array from eggs and omelets, to bacon, sausage, gravy, to pancakes and biscuits, and prices are very reasonable if not inexpensive. A plus is that the food is not heavily greasy like a lot of southern breakfast joints. Grill Worx is a diner with wood paneling, pretty good size with booths and tables. I don't think the decor has changed since I first ate here roughly a decade ago. Just basics and no more. During breakfast hours, there are always a gob of regulars and most everyone seems to know everyone. They offer a full menu of breakfast options including omelets. I like their South of the Border Omelet; fresh, full of veggies, jalapeños, some sour cream on top, and large (must be 3 if not 4 eggs). They have a weekday special of two eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or sausage gravy, toast or biscuits for under $4. It is always good. The sausage gravy is very nice. The pancakes are light and fluffy and done just right. The coffee is not bad either. Grill Worx has a full range of lunch and dinner items as well, various sandwiches, country fried steak, steak &cheese, chicken, burgers, melts, some homemade cakes/pies, and much more.
