    Orange juice machine

I've been here several times for breakfast. Food is always great as evidenced by the line on a Sunday morning. I always get the same thing, bacon and cheddar omelette with a side of pancakes. It doesn't look big, but it's stuffed with bacon. If you're into fresh squeezed orange juice this is the place. They squeeze on demand. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tip: Sunday is ALWAYS busy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Best breakfast in Greensboro with fast and friendly service. The OJ is fresh squeezed, and the food is excellent. Had the eggs with bacon (4 slices), grits and pancakes (3). Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. This will be my go-to for breakfast in Greensboro going forward!

Every time I'd look up best places in the triad area for breakfast, Tex & Shirley's always came up. After coming here for the first time, I see why! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything here is five stars! From the food, atmosphere, to the service, it all gets a gold star![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the pancakes, I want with bacon and eggs. The pancakes were awesome! So light and fluffy. It's definitely something that I would get again. I've been back a couple times since my initial visit, so it's definitely been added into the breakfast spot rotation list. Service was great and always made sure that we were taken care of, and the price point is it beatable for a good and delicious breakfast.

This is definitely going to be my favorite breakfast spot, now that I am back in Greensboro! I hadn't been to Tex & Shirleys in a while, so hadn't realized that they had moved. It's a great location with plenty of parking! I'd come here for the coffee alone! It was the best "diner" coffee that I've ever had! It was so good I bought a bag of beans to take home with me, it was $16. Menu offering was standard breakfast fare, and all of it was good! One of my nieces had the pancakes, and I tried her leftover one, and even cold, it was good! Makes me want to know the recipe; this pancake was that good! I've been so disappointed recently with other restaurant or even home made pancakes that I've made, but this pancake was super yummy! I ordered the "Build your Own" omelette with home fries, but next time I would definitely go with the pancakes. We came relatively early, so we were able to get a table for six quickly. When we left, the restaurant was getting super crowded! Service wise, we had an amazing server, who kept bringing us hot coffee, and was patient with all our requests. I regret I didn't get her name, but she was stellar, and answered our questions patiently about the history of the restaurant. The entire bill for a party of six was super reasonable, so considering price, service, food, and location, you really can't beat it! This is why it's a 5 star for me!

Tex & Shirley's is a staple brunch spot in the triad. I had never been to this location before so we stopped in recently. I ordered the breakfast combo with home fries and pancakes. This was a ton of food and everything was really good. The pancakes had the perfect fluffy consistency. The home fries had a nice flavor to them as well. The restaurant was busy because we came on a Sunday at lunch so we did have to wait a little bit.

Had a taste for pancakes, so I asked Siri where I could find good pancakes in Greensboro. She led me to Tex and Shirley's on Friendly Avenue. The pancakes were really really good. I love a good pancake and honestly, I don't think I've had one that good in a very long time. What was even better? I sat at the counter and met a regular customer name Don! He eats here every day he said because he loves the food and he only knows how to use his microwave! Raven at the counter was outstanding! She explained the entire menu to me, gave me her points of view and was very attentive. There was another young lady that was also taking orders, there with a long blonde ponytail who was not so helpful and a little edgy when I ask if she could put my order in for me. But with all the other wonderful experiences I had this morning. She's just a faded memory! I recommend Tex & Shirley's.

The dip is always so delicious - it's one of my favorite appetizers ever. The pita is really good too. I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. At first, they brought us pita that was really burnt but our waiter told us she requested a fresh batch without us even saying anything which I think is great service. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

While these were good, I think I would have liked these a little more if there were more rolls in the order, but less filling in each of them, as these were almost too much filling for each roll as it kept falling out while eating. The flavor however was phenomenal and I would still recommend them! For the main, I got the Bites and Pints Melt with a side of bacon cheese fries. The melt was cooked perfectly and loved the addition of the special sauce on top. The burger to Texas toast ratio was spot on as well. 10/10 would get again. The bacon cheese fries were delicious as well, crispy fries smothered in beer cheese and bacon, what more can you ask for?! A phenomenal meal was had this time around and cannot wait to stop back by for another!

This is probably my first review of this location, and I'm honestly surprised I didn't do it…read moresooner--but here we are. I decided to stop by Bites & Pints Gastropub on Spring Garden St. in Greensboro. As always, I was greeted as soon as I walked in, handed a menu, and asked what I'd like to drink. That goes a long way with me because a lot of places around here will have you standing there for 2-5 minutes before asking if you're drinking or eating. Sometimes I wonder if that's a rhetorical question, but that's neither here nor there. Anywhoo--I grabbed my usual seat at the bar and asked for a water and a pineapple cider. It came in a can, but they always served it with a cold glass, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, they no longer carry it (and I forgot the brand name--sorry ), so I figured I'd switch to a Blue Moon. Another blow... they don't carry Blue Moon anymore either. CURSES!! The manager explained they stopped carrying it because it wasn't selling well, so I settled for my trusty Stella Artois and took a look at the menu. To my surprise, they'd updated it! They kept a lot of the favorites while adding some new items. I started with the Firecracker Shrimp, and it was a great choice. The presentation was on point, and although I'm not the biggest fan of Sriracha, it worked really well here. The crispy shrimp paired perfectly with the slaw and spring mix underneath. For my entrée, I went with the Steel City Philly Cheesesteak with fries, and all I can say is... that was a good sammich. My only critique is the bread. I'm a stickler for toasted bread, especially on a sandwich loaded with grilled peppers, mayo, and, let's be honest, a little grease. The top bun was just a tad too toasted, while the bottom bun softened up pretty quickly. Even so, the sandwich was flavorful enough that I didn't mind too much. Unfortunately, I filled up faster than expected, but everything I ate was definitely worth it. The service matched the quality of the food. I was checked on regularly without feeling hovered over, and I had great rapport with my server. It was refreshing to be somewhere that actually gives a damn and makes you feel like you're getting your money's worth. This is one of those gastropubs that's comfortable, low-key, and just an all-around vibe. Highly recommend checking this place out, and when you do, ask for Ethan--tell him Mya the photographer sent you! Welp, that's all I got, folks. Hope you enjoyed the review.

Tonight was finally the evening when we were able to go, despite a bit of a waitlist still (45 minutes). The hostess was on point with her estimate and also very quick to get us seated within the promised time frame. I also found out they offer reservations, so we will use that option loving forward. First of all-service was excellent. Our waiter came to the table within a moment of being seated to get started with waters and non-alcoholic options, and was quick to check back up on us and see if we were ready or had questions. He made several great recommendations on both food and drinks. My only caveat was that my 10 oz steak was a bit on the salty side, but this may be due to the aging process. It was cooked to a beautiful medium per my request, and both my sides (asparagus and loaded baked potato) were yummy, well cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband got a pasta with pancetta and caramelized onions, and it was absolutely delicious. Suggested wines were paired well with both entrees. We opted to get a few more drinks with dessert, and both were also very good. The bartenders are not stingy in their pours! We also split the butter cake for dessert and I will say that Paula Dean would have been proud of that cake. It was melt-in-your mouth richness paired with a slightly tangy fruit sauce, fresh berries and a tasty vanilla ice cream. The restaurant as a whole was well set up, with multiple types of seating and a large bar area. Decor was well placed and there was enough room to walk through without feeling crowded, despite how busy it was. We will absolutely be back!
