We went to Tex and Shirley's on a Saturday around 12 for a "brunch" and after waiting for 30 minutes we got a table that had been open the whole time. The service was not that great, our server checked on us once after we ordered (we sat down and ordered immediately because we knew what we wanted from waiting) . Inside had lots of seating and was clean. Food was okay at best. Hash browns tasted frozen and microwaved. Cappuccino was burnt tasting. Pancakes were the only thing that was good. Not worth waiting an hour and paying what we did. Will try somewhere else next time.

I've been here several times for breakfast. Food is always great as evidenced by the line on a Sunday morning. I always get the same thing, bacon and cheddar omelette with a side of pancakes. It doesn't look big, but it's stuffed with bacon. If you're into fresh squeezed orange juice this is the place. They squeeze on demand. Tip: Sunday is ALWAYS busy

Best breakfast in Greensboro with fast and friendly service. The OJ is fresh squeezed, and the food is excellent. Had the eggs with bacon (4 slices), grits and pancakes (3). Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. This will be my go-to for breakfast in Greensboro going forward!

Every time I'd look up best places in the triad area for breakfast, Tex & Shirley's always came up. After coming here for the first time, I see why! Everything here is five stars! From the food, atmosphere, to the service, it all gets a gold star! I got the pancakes, I want with bacon and eggs. The pancakes were awesome! So light and fluffy. It's definitely something that I would get again. I've been back a couple times since my initial visit, so it's definitely been added into the breakfast spot rotation list. Service was great and always made sure that we were taken care of, and the price point is it beatable for a good and delicious breakfast.

This is definitely going to be my favorite breakfast spot, now that I am back in Greensboro! I hadn't been to Tex & Shirleys in a while, so hadn't realized that they had moved. It's a great location with plenty of parking! I'd come here for the coffee alone! It was the best "diner" coffee that I've ever had! It was so good I bought a bag of beans to take home with me, it was $16. Menu offering was standard breakfast fare, and all of it was good! One of my nieces had the pancakes, and I tried her leftover one, and even cold, it was good! Makes me want to know the recipe; this pancake was that good! I've been so disappointed recently with other restaurant or even home made pancakes that I've made, but this pancake was super yummy! I ordered the "Build your Own" omelette with home fries, but next time I would definitely go with the pancakes. We came relatively early, so we were able to get a table for six quickly. When we left, the restaurant was getting super crowded! Service wise, we had an amazing server, who kept bringing us hot coffee, and was patient with all our requests. I regret I didn't get her name, but she was stellar, and answered our questions patiently about the history of the restaurant. The entire bill for a party of six was super reasonable, so considering price, service, food, and location, you really can't beat it! This is why it's a 5 star for me!

Tex & Shirley's is a staple brunch spot in the triad. I had never been to this location before so we stopped in recently. I ordered the breakfast combo with home fries and pancakes. This was a ton of food and everything was really good. The pancakes had the perfect fluffy consistency. The home fries had a nice flavor to them as well. The restaurant was busy because we came on a Sunday at lunch so we did have to wait a little bit.

Had a taste for pancakes, so I asked Siri where I could find good pancakes in Greensboro. She led me to Tex and Shirley's on Friendly Avenue. The pancakes were really really good. I love a good pancake and honestly, I don't think I've had one that good in a very long time. What was even better? I sat at the counter and met a regular customer name Don! He eats here every day he said because he loves the food and he only knows how to use his microwave! Raven at the counter was outstanding! She explained the entire menu to me, gave me her points of view and was very attentive. There was another young lady that was also taking orders, there with a long blonde ponytail who was not so helpful and a little edgy when I ask if she could put my order in for me. But with all the other wonderful experiences I had this morning. She's just a faded memory! I recommend Tex & Shirley's.

The corned beef hash was either homemade or made nearby, no doubt. Even so, it was fairly average. Too salty for my tastes, too fatty, too stringy. Oh well. The people were very very nice. She Said: I'll second the assessment that the staff are great. I'd go back just for the terrific service. I was also happier with my breakfast: two eggs over medium, toast, bacon, and hash browns. The star was the hash browns. They were done well with crispiness on the outside and creaminess on the inside. I also got a Bloody Mary and it was well crafted. The rest was just fine. I would push for a 3.5 if Yelp allowed half points. Maybe a four because of the staff. (Shout out to the waiter named Michael, I think.) Potty Points: 3/5 as it was clean enough and available when needed.

I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. At first, they brought us pita that was really burnt but our waiter told us she requested a fresh batch without us even saying anything which I think is great service. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

The wings are easily the star of the show: perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Whether you like them classic or with a little extra kick, they definitely don't disappoint. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the customer service. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers, which makes a huge difference. I'm very grateful that they were very considerate when I drove over for over an hour and found out they were turning customers away due to a leak problem in the kitchen. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out with friends, catch a game, or just enjoy some seriously good food. Tonight was finally the evening when we were able to go, despite a bit of a waitlist still (45 minutes). The hostess was on point with her estimate and also very quick to get us seated within the promised time frame. I also found out they offer reservations, so we will use that option loving forward. First of all-service was excellent. Our waiter came to the table within a moment of being seated to get started with waters and non-alcoholic options, and was quick to check back up on us and see if we were ready or had questions. He made several great recommendations on both food and drinks. My only caveat was that my 10 oz steak was a bit on the salty side, but this may be due to the aging process. It was cooked to a beautiful medium per my request, and both my sides (asparagus and loaded baked potato) were yummy, well cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband got a pasta with pancetta and caramelized onions, and it was absolutely delicious. Suggested wines were paired well with both entrees. We opted to get a few more drinks with dessert, and both were also very good. The bartenders are not stingy in their pours! We also split the butter cake for dessert and I will say that Paula Dean would have been proud of that cake. It was melt-in-your mouth richness paired with a slightly tangy fruit sauce, fresh berries and a tasty vanilla ice cream. The restaurant as a whole was well set up, with multiple types of seating and a large bar area. Decor was well placed and there was enough room to walk through without feeling crowded, despite how busy it was. We will absolutely be back!

On a Saturday afternoon, I was in Greensboro and in the mood for some good pretzels and a draft beer, and this hit the spot. Old Town Draught House has a very old bar ambience, without feeling worn out and dated. I love the old dark wood throughout the building. They have a pretty broad draft beer menu, along with normal bar offerings. I was happy to see multiple sour beers on the list, because that's exactly what I was in the mood for. There's no table service, and it is seat yourself, but the bartenders were very attentive, and it was never difficult to place an order at the bar. We ordered a few beers and decided to get deviled eggs and the pretzels as appetizers to share. Food came out very quickly. The pretzels were pretty good, but I've had better elsewhere. Rather than being crispy, they were soft and a bit soggy, but the flavor was great. The beer cheese was on point, although I would've preferred a spicy brown mustard over yellow mustard. The deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown, because it was just a hard-boiled egg cut in half with a little bit of sweet chili peppers and dressing that tasted like 1000 Island on top. When I think of deviled eggs, I anticipate the egg yolks being removed, mixed with a few ingredients, and piped back in. For what was basically two eggs cut in half, the six-dollar price tag was steep. Overall, we had a great experience, although I would likely choose different food options next time. The bar staff were great, the beer offerings nice, and the ambience was a good vibe.
