I was very excited to try this for my birthday. Upon entering, I noticed the lighting. Very cool. We were seated right away but that's where the service went downhill. We received our menu's and then we waited. And waited. Finally getting a drink order in we again waited. Our server came back without our drinks or water that we asked for, to take our food order. Appetizers arrived but again, still no drinks or water. After finishing our appetizer I finally got up to ask the bar for water. This is approximately 30 minutes into our visit now. Waited awhile longer and finally received water but waited another 10 minutes for the cocktails we originally ordered. Then a pizza came. We were halfway finished with it before our other pizza arrived so the other couple had no food of their own while we ate. Of course we offered to share but they are not meat eaters. The pizza was super delicious!! Now I get there are staff shortages but the place was pretty empty and there seemed to be plenty of staff folding napkins and milling around the entrance area. I wouldn't have minded the wait so much but if you're going to be that behind in service at least bring water!!!!! All you have to do is pour it! read more

Super disappointed. I came in for lunch today with my folks. It wasn't overly crowded, so I was surprised it took so long for our two pizzas to come out. (We waited at least forty minutes.) If I would have known it was going to take that long, I might have ordered a salad however a small Caesar salad cost $9, that's way too much. Service was lacking in every way. I've no problem with their service, or their calzones we ate. They were fine. But two calzones and a small appetizer amounted to more than 60 dollars. We really should've paid closer attention to the obscene pricing of their toppings. 2 dollars just for adding some basil, 5 if you want chicken, 4 for pepperoni. I know, it's a chain, some have had negative experiences with the wait time, but I have to say...I don't think pizza gets much better than this! I have been to the original Brooklyn location before this became a chain. It was awesome. I was a frequent patron at their first franchise location in Old Town Scottsdale. The best! My wife and I found ourselves frequently stopping at Grimaldi's in Arizona's various locations, Florida, and Vegas. All great! My recommendation for the perfect pie: Large, pepperoni, sausage, and onion. If you go and you don't like that pie, then I can't help you. It's on you. Seriously. The thin crust is crispy from the coal fire, the sauce is deliciously seasoned, the cheese tastes great and a perfect amount. My one complaint about Grimaldi's over the years has been that some locations can't seem to get the correct amount of sauce on their pizzas, but Brookfield has been spot on! The atmosphere is typically lively and bustling. Grimaldi's does their best to create an authentic NYC feel within their establishment. Might be a bit exaggerated, but it is still a nice atmosphere. Red checkered tablecloths, photos of New York on the walls, wine is flowing, and pizza on every table. It's a beautiful thing. read more

The pizza was only ok and the coal dust was not too appetizing. The pricing was way over the top for me and my budget. For what you get I think they should have cheaper prices or more options. I was really expecting better. My wife arrived a few minutes before me and the waiter greeted them and got them drinks, then it took him another 12 minutes to come back once I got there. I know it was kinda our fault for arriving staggered, but someone dropped the ball on communicating the full table was there. Then we ordered pizzas which took about 35-40 minutes. They kept coming back to apologize about the wait and saying it was coming soon. Waiter apologized twice and manger one time, yet they did nothing to fix their error. Drove about 40 miles for a NY style Pizza: got there and was given some long story on how (at a brick oven pizza place on The weekend before Christmas at 2pm) only o get the message that they shut their oven down and I could not get a pizza until 3:30 WTF? Really, that's their plan, so my wife and I and about 3 other groups had to leave and find somewhere else to eat. No more special trips to this place!! Or recommending it. Obviously not tuned into their customers and more into how their "special oven" needs maintenance (in the middle of a the day on Saturday). Met some friends here for dinner on a random Tuesday. They were there before us and got a table, they told us they had been waiting about 10 minutes before we got there. We sit and talk it up for 10 more minutes and we had not been greeted.. I asked if they had a server and they said nope, 20 minutes in. We waited/chatted another 15 minutes and someone stopped by saying they would come back to get drink orders. She comes back and takes drink orders, they come and we continue talking as the serve said she had to drop off some food quick and would be back to take food order--- standard stuff in my book minus the 30 min wait before being approached. She comes back and we order, so far so good.. by this time 2 people have gulped their drinks and and wouldn't mind another mixer before dinner. Waitress did not come around to ask about refills/check in on us before the food comes. For a Tuesday, it wasn't that busy.. eventually the food gets dropped off by the runners as we sit empty glassed ready to indulge. Timing was fine, pizza was alright, nothing to rave about in my opinion. Classic sausage pep bacon on it. Was fine. All this time we are eating, our waitress had not checked on us after the pizzas came, during or even after. We asked another server for a box as our waitress was nowhere to be found. Being a true pizza lover from NYC, I am definitely picky about my pizza! This place ranks at the top as far as pizzas to get here in Wisconsin. I personally love "The Don" and add ricotta to that. Amazing combo! They have the best meatballs and I love their crust. Ive brought friends to this place and they all LOVED it as much as I have. Suprisingly good. We had a 18 inch pepperoni, sausage and onion. It was really good. Im not a thin crust kind of guy so this crust falls right in the middle. Not too thick not too thin. For a Saturday night we needed no reservations, walked right in and they sat us immediately. The cons: I thought it was a bit on the noisy side. I felt like I was waited a long time for the pizzas. 1/24/2018: WOW! Great fantastic thin crust pie with a really flavorful sauce. I loved it. The house salad for one is really for two. I ordered the traditional 12 inch with pepperoni and Italian sausage and it was wonderful. The pie was plenty and more for one. This is a chain but the original is in New York under the Brooklyn Bridge. What and outstanding pizza. Definitely recommend this place. 1/25/2018: Yeah, it was that good. I had to come back again. My work team stopped in for lunch the other day and it was a really nice experience. Food - we split a couple salads and two pizzas. The salads are massive. If you are looking for a one person size - order a small and expect leftovers. We had the med and kale salad - both fantastic! We had one pizza with traditional sauce and one with white sauce - the crust was great but I did not care for the white sauce at all. Service - the servers were friendly and attentive. We sat next to the kitchen where the pizzas were being flipped and loved that the cooks interacted with us! Prices - very reasonable and expected. Worth the money they're charging. Atmosphere - the restaurant is cozy and what you would expect of a pizza centric restaurant. Very modern and clean. Would be great for a date or a group visit. I'll be back!! read more

I love their pizza!! The margarita is amazing! If you are looking for you traditional crappy Pizza Hut type pizza you won't find it here, but you will find yummy pizza choices. The menu is not huge, pizzas, some salads and a few deserts. I think that is great they can focus on doing the thing they do rather then trying to cook a million different dishes. Ranks right up there with our favorite pizza joint. We were here for a function and got to try many of the pizza flavors. If you like a little spice try that buffalo chicken pizza. We came in during lunch time. Our waitress was very slow and not very helpful when it came to the menu. We had children and the pizza was served directly over their heads. The other part they lacked was something for kids to do. I thought maybe there would be coloring or something but there wasn't. Cloth napkins and no children's cups made for an interesting dining experience. The food was ok. Salad was very good, pizza not so much. The sauce just lacks any seasoning. It's like they take the can of tomato sauce and just plop it on the pizza. Fantastic Brooklyn pizza in the Milwaukee area. We tried the Buffalo Chicken, the Don and the Magherita. All were on point, smoky and crisp with crust that could still carry weight of the toppings. Their oven is custom and does have different cook times, so be patient for that delicious pizza perfection. They bring it hot even if it means your order is staggered. Lastly, get that cannoli. Sorry to say, but had a bad experience at Grimaldi's recently. Came in on Friday at 11:30am. There were only a few people in the restaurant. Gave the waitress our order of drinks. She came back to take our order for food without drinks. We placed our order for 3 salads and a pizza and asked if we could have bread. The bread did not come until we asked for it. In the end our food order came an hour after we came in. When we questioned the manager, he apologized, but said they had a large take out order. I do understand all the staffing issues that restaurants face, but have not been given such bad service from other restaurants in the area. This was my first and last time I will go to Grimaldi's. read more

We had the best arugula pizza, perfect crispy crust and my favorite Mediterranean salad with Kalamato olives and feta cheese. Pair with Pinot Noir wine that I want to try and make chandeliers like the have hanging throughout the restaurant. read more

I have been here three separate times now, and I feel it is really better than that. My experiences have been just great, especially for a chain. I appreciate their strict adherence to their corporate water testing guidelines, and their use of HOT coal-fired ovens. It makes the crust special, and consistent across all of their locations. We are "simple" pizza folk, so we stick to minimal toppings. Their Italian sausage is really great, and since we don't smother our pizzas in 50 toppings, we get to enjoy that great crust with just the right amount of chew, that doesn't go soft in the middle of the pie. We also like to get their before 6 and enjoy their Happy Hour specials. Considering your choices in that part of the world, I will recommend Grimaldi's every time! Most important: pizza is delicious. We originally came in to a 2 hour wait for a party of 2. No big deal, we went and had drinks at cafe Hollander. We were seated after about an hour and 10 minutes. It took a while for our order to go through, but it was worth it. We tried chicken and bacon on white sauce, pepperoni & sausage, and margarita pizza. Our server was serving the entire bar area so he was a little busy but very friendly. They were out of my original wine choice but I just tried something else. We will definitely be back. They have a really cute patio that we would like to experience. I think once the excitement dies down a bit it might be less of a wait, but it is a fairly small place inside. read more

We ordered the sausage and wine braised onion pizza. It was phenomenal. The taste was amazing, I suspect it was the wine braised onions. Went to Grimaldi's with the whole family this weekend, 6 adults 2 teens and 1 under 10. We ordered 4 pizzas, 3 medium and 1 large, which was definitely enough with a little extra to feed this hungry group. Everyone loved the pizza! The pizza was baked spot on, not over done not doughy, firm and chewy. Three of the pies were made to order and one Don. All pizzas hand a good amount of toppings and weren't overly cheesy. The sauce had good flavor not over seasoned. Our server was attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The only drawback was our hour wait to be seated. We called to make a reservation since we knew it can be difficult to seat a large group. But we were told that they are not currently taking reservations, hopefully this policy will be changing at least for large groups. read more

Grimaldi's is great! We had an early dinner Saturday night we ordered the chopped kale salad, a pepperoni pizza, and a few beers. If you eat before 6, they offer $2 off tap beers! The pizza is thin crust and wood-fired, we had a large and it's enough for 3-4 hungry adults. We also thought the service was fantastic. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It was clear the staff worked as a team, several different servers stopped at our table through the course of our meal. We'll definitely be back. read more

Use to be our favorite pizza place in the area. We even made sure that we supported this local business 2020 as we felt it was "essential." We had guests from out of town last summer. We took them here and our order was messed up which part of the order was GF. Okay... things happen. 20 minutes later the GF pizza came in. A few months later, we had a party and ordered pizza for a party of 20 plus. Our order was messed up. We had called to get it resolved and they were "nonchalant" and "refused to resolve our order. In addition, didn't even apologize. We had spoken to the manager on duty. Fast forward, we are having a Sumer event and my husband said "don't order from the pizza place that treated us badly." How sad.... Yes, this review is late but as I search for restaurant options to take large parties, I am reading reviews. If you are a party of 1-2 you may be fine. I worked in the service industry for years. Customers first, but our experience was not the case. We can't support business's that don't feel their customers are "essential."
