If you love cheese, you must try the Quattro Formaggio. My friend & I get the 18" and do half Quattro formaggio and half pepperoni. I'm not a fan of their pepperoni but I LOVE the four cheese pizza. The Ceasar salad is really good too. We always get this as a starter. The pizza takes a while to come out (no matter the location) so I recommend getting a starter. This was my first time visiting the memorial town & country location. Food was fine however service was terrible. We made reservation 4-5 weeks in advance, (3/15 at 5:15pm) asking for the small private room. We get there at 5:07pm and room is not set up at all and our box with cake and flowers is still sitting in corner. They scramble to configure the tables and we set out cake and flowers. I had written order already prepared (3 large salads for group of 11 and 4 pizzas) - no "order taking" except for drinks which was super easy as it was a non drinking group. I had to go find our server twice for refills, then to ask for plates for cake as well as a serving utensil which he pulled out from dirty dishes tray and washed (I sure hope he actually washed it). From my seat on the end, looking outward into the main area, i made it obvious I was always looking for the server (Stretching and leaning, back and forth, looking for 'someone'). Never did another server or Mgr acknowledge me or swing by with a "you need something?" "I'll send your server over" - nothing!! Very disappointing. I first got wind of this spot from a Yelp event. I went to visit the location in the Memorial City Center area. The located in a nice spot, after you eat go get your walk around on, definitely a nice casual fare spot. The pizza, definitely a lot of selections, for you meat lover I definitely suggest you getting the Don, pepperoni, Italian sausage and a meatball sitting on top. The pizza has a thin crust, and because that crust is so thin you can eat the whole pizza and not feel overly stuffed. The salads all are good the small size is enough for 2 people to eat off the dressing is already on the salad and it is just enough. The checkered table clothes, wine bottles used as lights hanging from the wall, black & white pictures throughout it's just a fun spot. Our waitress Brandy was very sweet, checked on us often. The pizza takes about 17 mins it wasn't piping hot but was hot. They don't mind giving you a piece of pizza dough to play around with if your bored while you wait, LOL, nice! Pizza was good not burnt on the bottom, I asked for extra sauce ($2.00 extra) they put a lot which was perfect just how I like it. Their pizza crust is super thin so it's an easy fold if you like to eat your pizza that way. It's sliced in very large fold-able pieces so if you want them smaller make sure you request. The toppings are fresh so they add a nice kick no matter what your flavor. Dessert - I ordered the seasonal caramel coconut cheesecake. Just perfect, the cheesecake is not new york style, it's a softer smoother consistancy, nice and sweet. This one has caramel spread all over the top then rolled with toasted coconut. I'm not a coconut lover but this was still very good. It's a fun place to take the family as an alternative to drive through domino's or pizza hut. I have been here many times before but the last experience I had was awful. We walked in on a Wednesday and it was not very busy. Ordered the Don Pizza in a 16" and no one came to refill our drinks. After one hour of waiting on a pizza we asked to speak to the manager. The only thing they could tell us is that the order was completely lost and they just put the pizza in and we waited another 20 minutes for our food. We then asked why no one was attentive to see why there was no food on the table and the manager claimed they don't notice what is on the table and no waitress or staff brought it to her attention... Also, we noticed over several boxes were done for various delivery service apps in the time we were there so we strongly feel they do not prioritize dine in customers. I found Grimaldis near my house near Kansas City when I was trying new pizza places as often as I could but didn't know that they were a chain. The original is in NY City and they go to great lengths to make the taste as close to NYC as possible including the chemical makeup of the water for their dough. When I visited Houston and sought my standard pizza and beer I found this Grimaldis and made the trip. It is in an upscale neighborhood so parking is hard, I used the valet so I didn't have to walk in the rain. The food was just as great as I expected it to be with the pizza flavor just like the other one I went to. The staff were attentive and checked in on me often. I did have to move to a slightly different section of my table because of the loud conversations going on behind me but it was a family having fun so it's not a big deal. read more

Over-hyped, overpriced, and so-so pizza at best. I have been to the original one in Brooklyn and didn't much care for it so not sure why I'm surprised. First off, it took forever to get the pizza. To be fair, the waiter did warn us it would take a long time but telling us doesn't make it right. The crust is pretty good but the sauce is totally blah. I can't really judge the cheese because there was barely enough there to taste. So, one large pizza for $30 and another $6 to park and wait forever. And the pizza is no better (maybe even worse) then what you would get from Pizza Hut or Domino's. Questioning why they even get two stars, now that I think about it. Guess I'm feeling generous. Their pizzas are massive, and coal oven lends a smoky taste to the crust. Love that hand tossed crust isn't heavy or super doughy. The balance in flavours and proportions have been consistent the two times we ordered from here. So far the arugula and prosciutto is my favourite. They also have the option to let you double cut the slices so they're not super huge slices to deal with in one go. The wait time can differ when picking up depending on the day of the week, but we have not attempted delivery yet. Have this as our go to pizza spot these days. read more

WOW. Honestly didn't think I would find great pizza in a city that focuses on bbq but, WOW. This must be what the pizza in Italy tastes like, seriously. The crust is thin and crispy and the flavors are just so simple but so good. You can really taste every ingredient that on the pizza. The marinara is light and not overly sweet like most pizza places. The sausages were perfectly seasoned and I could really taste all the different seasonings. We got one small margarita and one large Don along with a Cesar salad and cannolis. They do not skimp on food here. The small was large and the large was extra large! The cannolis weren't my favorite because the outside was a bit too crunchy for me, I haven't had cannolis before so I'm not sure what I was expecting. Went to Grimaldi's for the first time this weekend. Signed up to the wait list through Yelp and when arriving to check in a nice young gentleman greeted us. He asked us to wait while he checked for an available table. A short moment after a girl hostess let us know "since you guys went through yelp you are at the end of the line, face to face guest are seated first" it came off as very rude to us. After being asked to wait 30-40 mins we decided to sit at the bar where we were not greeted by the bartender, instead she saw us and walked off. 5-6 mins later another bartender came to help us. It confuses me that this Grimaldi's (or any) has a mediocre rating. I remember back when they opened a location in the Woodlands and the wait to get seated was ridiculous. I guess now that they expanded they've lost their novelty, but I still think they're pretty great! I almost always get Grimaldi's as takeout, and I've honestly never had a bad pizza. My favorites are the garlic based white pizzas (no red sauce). Their crust always has a nice chew to it, and I've never had issues with it being overcooked. They use really delicious cheese too! The one downside is if you prefer a custom pizza vs ordering off their set pizza menu, you will pay per topping, usually in the $2-4 range. Their largest pizza size has pretty big slices, so two slices can really fill you up. If you're looking for takeout that's a huge step above the chain restaurants, and don't mind paying more for better quality ingredients, Grimaldi's is a very solid option. read more

Grimaldi's Pizzeria got a good atmosphere for dining. I love the decor and how they set up. Its location is great as it is close to my home. Last time I visited this place, it was a take out. I ordered a calzone but got a pizza instead. I found out until I was home so I went with the flow. The pizza was alright. It was a bit hard but it could be due to the fact that I was 10 minutes late on picking up my order. Having said that, Grimaldi's got my order wrong. The wrong item was just alright. This place is hands down in my top five pizza spots! The place has a great atmosphere, and the waiter was very informative about the wines, pizzas, and beers. Before we ordered, we had a couple of their beers and then ordered the Godfather, which is loaded with meat, and for two men that were hungry from shopping, it's a must-try! When they brought the pizza out, and it smelled amazing, and once I took a bite, the flavors exploded in my mouth from the flour crust with a nice crunch and the tender meats and flavorful sauce! Tells me he would put it in the system. I paided cash so he couldn't do anything for me but told me to let the manager know when we order again next time. Decided to have pizza again so today I call and explain to the manager Ramon about what had happened. He seemed a bit annoyed because I couldn't remember the first manager's name. He checks his system and our info was in there. I order the same sweet deal (sweet deal comes with a 18" pizza, salad and a dessert for about $30). I figured he was going to get us all setup. My wife goes to pick it up and its the same price $30. I then asked the manager how this was making things right because its the same price? He explains to me that he is giving us a free salad. Seemed like it was the same deal to me because it was still the same price. I said instead of giving us another salad, a discount would be better but he said no because it was already a deal. Wow, really??!! Anyways, the manager was a jerk and not friendly at all. If he represents the company this way, I will no longer be eating there again. They also stamp your valet parking which is nice. Pizza is great, genuinely good New York thin crust. The main issue is they are either understaffed or mismanaged, but everything takes longer than it should. There is a training issue in how to greet patrons as they arrive and to get anything done reasonably quickly. Nobody, in particular, was rude but it was clear that whoever is running this specific location does not know what they were doing, and feels a little like amateur hour. We ordered the 16 inch prosciutto arugula pizza and it was very dry because there was no sauce. We received our lukewarm pizza more than 40 minutes after ordering while the couple who came in later received their pizza in less than 15 minutes. The restaurant was not even half full. Prosciutto on the pizza was dry and overcooked that some parts tasted like bacon. Some parts were also bunched up. The arugula was not fresh and very sparse. Then while we were still finishing up our pizza, the waitress asked if we wanted dessert. We were still eating the pizza when she brought out our check already! I've never been to a restaurant where the check was brought out while I'm still eating the main dish and without asking for the check. I felt very rushed. This was my first and last visit. I'd like to also add the waitress insisted on giving me the special, it was $40 for 18 inch pizza with a large salad and a bottle of Prosecco. Seriously...?! It was just me and my 12 year old son, did she really think we could finish all that food, the 18 inch pizza and the large salad?! That I could drink an entire bottle of Prosecco there by myself??!!! I had a glass of wine and she asked if I wanted water too, need you ask?! Why wouldn't you serve water to everyone? Worse Grimaldi's I've been to. I had a bad experience the first time on service figured it would be different this time but it wasn't.

My experience was terrible. The organization I work for made contact with the business about hosting an event their and later perhaps over 100 people could order food, which a manager or owner agreed too. When we arrived it seemed no one in the staff knew that we were coming to eat and it became a fiasco. I got my food over an hour late and I was so hungry and irritated, I threw it away. They were highly disorganized too. A table on the opposite side of the restaurant had half to 2/3 of the ordered fulfilled, while my side two tables never received their orders. People were cancelling left and right, because it was well past 2 and we needed to leave. My boss was nice enough to stay and wait for our food to arrive, but I kinda wish she had been a mean boss instead, so we could have left. People still didn't get orders right, they made pizzas that no one ordered, it was an outright mess. I don't think I've ever seen such a disorganized staff. I could tell they were upset their manager or owner didn't communicate with them about us, but at the same time, you have to put on your game face and try to do your best. I won't be coming back, unless a near and dear friend loves this place and it's his or her birthday. Otherwise, I'm staying clear. By the way--my about 1 1/2 hour late pizza was just okay in taste. Not sure if that is the typical quality pizza they had or if they just rushed it together to get the order done. read more

No, don't go here. It doesn't taste good. The best thing there was the water. I only came here because my sister-in-law has a co-worker who loves it (what is wrong with that co-worker?) I had been to a Grimaldi's at th Sugarland location because I won a gift card. That was 8 years ago, free, and I have not returned. We all shared an appetizer, and 2 pizzas. The $10 appetizer was 3 pieces of bread (cut in half to appear as 6 pieces) with stuff on top. When my sister-in-law as her husband what he thought of it, he replied, "Just ok." The pizza came out and it was the meat one and a Margarita pizza. It felt like eating cardboard with sauce and cheese on it. There was not much basil. My husband said the meat on the meat pizza tasted like low quality meat. I took a look at it and thought some od the meat looked intersting. This was the 2nd time I didnt have to pay because my sister-in-law paid (probably because she felt bad for forcing us to eat there.) I would not return (even if it was free.... again.)
