This is one of my favorite friend chicken places. The batter is seasoned so well and it's always crispy and delicious! I love their battered potato wedges. Their prices are great too.

I decided to give them a try after looking at their extensive menu. It was short drive to pick up some food and bring it home. This was the first time I have gone to this restaurant. I have passed by it multiple times but never stopped before. I did go into the drive-thru the wrong way. If you go there, you need to drive around back where the drive-thru lane starts. You have to order the pick up your food from the passenger side. This is due to it being the last space in the strip mall there. Anyway, they were nice about it (I am sure I'm not the first to make this mistake). They took my order and told me I could park anywhere out front and they would bring my food to me. She told me they make it fresh so it would take a few minutes but assured me she would get it out to me as quickly as possible. It was probably about 10 minutes or so. I would order ahead next time and then pick up at the drive-thru. I ordered the 2 pc Boneless Catfish Dinner which comes with two sides and a choice of bread. I tried the Red Beans & Rice and the Potato Salad. For my bread I went with the Cornbread instead of the roll. The fish was good. The potato salad was excellent. The red beans & rice and cornbread were okay. I would come again to order more food for sure. She got the Chicken Sandwich. It was a classic chicken sandwich which would normally come with lettuce, tomato, mayo, they also asked if she wanted pickles. She opted to get it plain. She sometimes doesn't like the sauce or there is too much sauce so she prefers to add the toppings herself if needed. The chicken was lightly fried and came on a large white bun. There are so many places that sell the classic sandwich so she did have some preconceived idea of what it would taste like. She had to say this chicken sandwich, to her surprise, exceeded her expectations. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was everything she had hoped for. She realizes it is just a piece of fried chicken breast but it gets harder and harder to find a really good one. She will certainly be ordering this again.

Get served dried out chicken wings, can't believe they would eat these themselves but will give them to a paying customer

When you are craving chicken on the south side, screw the Colonel and head across Man O War to Grimes's! (Only screw the Colonel if it's consensual) Grimes's (fka Richie's) is one of the best chicken joints in Lexington. You can choose from regular or spicy chicken and great sides such as potato wedges, mac & Cheese, greens, or green beans to name a few. This trip I ordered the 2 piece box, which accidentally came with 3 pieces! I substituted spicy breasts and ordered the greens as my side. You also have a choice of bread or corn muffin. The spicy breasts were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. These folks know how to fry chicken and you will not have grease dripping from your fingers! The greens were cooked to perfection as well, slow cooked with just the right amount of vinegar and the muffin is sweet corn bread and was moist and delicious. The front door was locked for for ordering so the drive through is your only option with COVID restrictions. So head on over and enjoy!

We tried out this spot one night when we didn't want to cook dinner. Hubby asked for ribs tips, they were out. Asked for about two other items, they were out. He settled Chicken snack box with yams & baked beans and I got the Cod with mac & cheese & greens. Awkward wait, you have to pull away from window and someone handed order after they come out of front entrance. Staff were not properly wearing masks or gloves, most looked really young so my expectations were low for food. I was unfortunately correct. Cod was a very hard fried piece and inedible. Sides were disappointing as well. Nothing special at all. Hubby said chicken was ok. I guess they've mastered that part. For a $10+ cod meal I will never go again.

My Jack salmon sandwich was good. As expected and as usual. Thank you for having good tasting hot sandwiches such as these.

Maybe just a bad day. My strip were spicy, but dry. The breast was bland and dry. May try again down the road.

Good. Very good. The spicy is actually decently spicy. The breading is good. All the sides are great. Usually not much of a wait.

We usually eat at a different Ramsey's location, but this was closer to where we were. The atmosphere, service, and food were just as good as the other locations we've visited so we were not disappointed! We had a short wait for a table when we arrived, and I saw a table of women enjoying the espresso martini that I ended up ordering and enjoying. After starting with the Loaded House Salad with blue cheese dressing, the chicken livers were calling my name, along with mashed potatoes & gravy, with green beans. Hubby also had the Loaded House Salad, but with ranch dressing, fried chicken breasts, macaroni & cheese, green beans, and a corn stick. They were out of the sugar free peach pie so we skipped dessert, but we both brought home leftovers to enjoy for lunch on Saturday. Ironically our server Hannah is usually at the location we visit most frequently, so we will look for her the next time we're in that neighborhood.

I can't believe that I have never tried this and I didn't know what I was missing! The Hot Mari is the most delicious thinly sliced beef tenderloin that has been marinated in a salty and slightly sweet marinade. I highly recommend it!

Except for one couple who were finishing their meal, we were the only ones there. Regardless we had fantastic service and tasty food with the gorgeous downtown views available from the huge windows. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was HUGE, juicy and crispy. The fries were delicious, a very generous portion and very well seasoned. Since we were celebrating we ordered 2 desserts: the olive oil cake and the 10th birthday celebration cake. The celebration cake was a bit dry, but the olive oil cake was fantastic with a lovely combo of strawberries and pistachio cream. A really amazing cake I wish I could have more. Bye Lockbox! The vibes and the ambiance is cool and modern, with art adorning the walls (it is inside the 21C art hotel after all). Tables are well spaced out and benches are comfortable. Open and full of light, this is a great space. Service was attentive and helpful. I started out with the sausage balls, made with creole hot honey mustard, dill, and chili. The texture was really hard and while the sauce was tasty, the sausage ball itself seemed to lack flavor. Next time I will probably try to pimento cheese, which the server said was supposed to be very good (he couldn't speak personally because he's not a pimento fan). For my entree I had the pork belly. And I think I am the problem here, not the dish. It's fatty and rich, as pork belly is supposed to be, but it felt so very greasy to me. I ate very little of this, and this is where my fifth star falls off. I should have gone with the burger or berry beef culotte. I also had a side of fries, which as others have noted, are crisp and well seasoned. They were delicious. They have a nice little cocktail list. I had the hattori hanzo, mad with haku vodka, smoked paprika, pineapple shrub, and pineapple juice. I love pineapple, so I loved this drink that was heavy on the fruity flavor. I also had the temper tantrum, made with gin, grapefruit, lime juice, and thyme. A little sweet, a little bitter, which was perfect for this gin lover. It might have been my favorite. And the Scarlet Manhattan, made with old forester rye, scarlet apertivo, angostura, and orange bitters, it was the perfect smoky end to the night. Looking forward to coming back and adding that fifth star.
