Good chicken for the price. However the service is not very friendly and the chicken is rarely hot, just warm. My daughter chooses Grimes at least 3 days every week so my 3star rating was upgraded to a 4star. I do wish they offered an option between 6pc and 18pc wings. 6 is not enough and 18 is too much . 12 pc would be a home run for my daughter and my wallet. My husband and I needed our spicy chicken wing fix yesterday so we stopped at Grimes for the first time. So easy to get there on our way home to Georgetown. The drive through was effortless. They asked us to park to wait for our order. Less than 5 minutes and we had HOT fresh food. My husband was excited that they had chicken livers and gravy. He said they were delicious! Local chicken joint that every town needs. The wings are great. The tater wedges are out of the world. All the sides are great. They even added a pork chop sandwich that is amazing. It's a quirky place with the drive thru window on the wrong side, but they make it work with the long baskets they use at church. I had ordered me a 3pc dinner, and was very disappointed in there cole slaw that day. It had way to much dressing that I had to throw it away. I also ordered smoke baked beans; and it had way more juice in it than beans. this was my second time visiting Grimes. I asked to give second when lady asked for my order. I ordered a 6 piece with 2sides. I had given my fries as a side when a guy took over the order I told him for the second side I wanted red beans and rice. I paid and pulled off. I didn't have the red beans and rice So I went to the windo and they tried to charge me. I told them it was my second side. She said I didn't order the rice and was still going to charge me. Said they gave me double wedges which I did not want. She said she heard my order and I didn't order(but I did) she said I'll go ahead and give it to you but you didn't order. i Told her about two different people taking order and she said " well I am training" ( as if I should've known this). She was very impolite and a little hyped up acting. She said I heard you and I wouldn't lie about that so I asked her if she was saying I was lying and she said again you didn't ask for it. So she called me LIAR. I asked about manager and she says"I'm it". I asked if someone over her and again she said "nope I'm it". After calling me a Liar I left the rice and walked off. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and I hope you don't let this slide and continue to have someone so rude and disrespectful to your customers. As of now I will not return but obviously according to this "manager " she doesn't care one way or the other Sad how people have no customer service experience on how to treat PAYING CUSTOMERS GOOD LUCK GRIMES FYI. Okay so here is my experience...l showed up tonight at 8:13p and placed my order, 6strips and 2sides. I pull up to the window and wait... and wait...never recognized, I see 2 employees, they see me. I wait. 10 minutes later I blow the horn, they look at me...I wait. 3 minutes later the guy comes to the window and says "what do you want". I said" I placed my order" he says $6.89...I ask why did it take so long to come service me, he said"what type of service do you want"...I say this exact service. He says $6.89. I ask again why did it take so long to come to the window you saw me here. He says he had other things to do...the girl in the background was just giggling. I asked him his name and he said why. I said I want to let his manager know his behavior and he told me that he didn't need my business and to go. So yeah. They suck. I will say the chicken was absolutely delicious. My order was right except I asked for ranch with my order and I got two honey mustards. My husbands order was wrong. The mashed potatoes are your run of the mill flakes + milk potatoes. Green beans tasted like they just came out of the can. Overall, nothing special. Used to be a good place to stop for some chicken, last time I stopped it wasn't even 10 (open light still on) the doors were locked and no one in drive-thru to take orders and to add more there was a sign saying "price increase after Jan 22" I know things go up with time, but $6.50 to $8.50 for the six piece chicken tender is crazy! I love the food but their service has gone down the toilet. Kid that took my order didn't say thank you or even you're welcome after I said thank you, just closed the window. This was after he wouldn't substitute the side in the 18 wings and wedges. Not everyone can eat potatoes. Why not sell 18 wings and a side instead? The food is good every time I go the only problem is we're in the middle of a pandemic and nobody is wearing their masks right. We've ordered through UberEats 2x in the last few weeks. We got different things each time and it was all good. The chicken was in my opinion the best. We've ordered both the original and the hot and spicy and they are both awesome. My husband raved about the rib tips (I didn't get one). The sides were more average than awesome, but still good flavors. Nothing went to waste. 1st its expensive. 52.00 for food. We got a 20 piece party pack that came with 4 and 10 rolls. The sides were pint size btw. Mac and cheese candid yams green beans and mash taters and gravy. 2 orders of 3 piece wedges. 1 gallon of pink lemonade. 1/2 pint of peach cobbler, slice of cheese cake. Got home. NO SEASONING WHAT SO EVER IN THE MASHED POTATOES, GREEN BEANS OR THE YAMS!!!! I was extremely disappointed in this. I had to add my own seasonings so my family would eat it. Just ok. The one on Georgetown St is ok. I dont like the name "Grimes", when I hear that word it makes me think of grease and dirt. I stopped in for potato wedges and blackberry cobbler as well as some macaroni and cheese. Everything was good except the potato wedges, they were hard as a rock, it was as if they were not cooked or they had been sitting around awhile. I thought it was just 1, but I had 6 of them and EVERY ONE WAS HARD. Just nasty, very disgusted that I spent the money on that and couldn't enjoy them.....I should have gone to INDI"S where I KNOW the product is fresh and GOOD. I bought a 12 piece family pack of chicken and was expecting at least 2 pieces of each type (breast, thighs, legs, wings). However when I got home I only had thighs and legs. I tried to call but the phone numbers on the receipt were incorrect numbers. I took pics of the chicken and went back the next day with my receipt and told them what happened. I spoke with the manager and was told if they run out of breast they substitute for whatever chicken they already have fried up! This is so wrong. If I'm paying for 2 breast in a dinner that's what I'm expecting to get and shouldn't be made to take whatever they gave available. It's their responsibility as a business to make sure they have enough chicken fried and ready or at least let the customer know so they can decide if they want to substitute or wait for the pieces they ordered. No customer should be MADE to take pieces of chicken they didn't order. The manager was rude and said that's how we do it and there's nothing I can do about us substituting. They lost my business and hopefully people will see how unprofessional this is!!! read more
