Horrible. Rude. And flat out disgusting. If I wanted attitude while ordering food, I'd take the skyway to India. This KFC acts like YOU are the problem for daring to ask for fried chicken, and they, SHOCKING, don't have any. At a place literally called 'Kentucky Fried Chicken'!!! Every time we've asked, "Okay, what do you have then?", we get incorrect answers, attitude, or flat-out silence. We've been yelled at, cussed at, laughed at, IGNORED, and DENIED service more times than I can count!!! They almost NEVER have good chicken. Half the time they don't have crispy, sometimes they don't have original, sometimes they claim they have nothing at all, and when you ask politely what they do have, they get ANGRY at you and DEMAND you to tell them what you want! How the hell are we supposed to do that if you are out of almost everything we ask for?! I don't give 1‑star reviews lightly, I will 5‑star almost anything with a pulse... but this place? I'm not convinced anyone working here is fully awake, aware, or even sober!! You can SMELL the weed pouring out of the drive‑through window. Their eyes are wide, stunned, bloodshot... it's like being dragged into a dark hole vortex portal that throws you into indie horror movie universe. I have been desperate to find the corporate number to report these people and their atrocious impulse to yell back at a customer! Christ!! For years we've tried giving this location chance after chance. Different cars, different family members, different times of day.... they have the same rude behavior, give the same wrong orders, operate in the same chaos, so we KNOW they are not just singling us out. We've driven away empty‑handed many times because they either wouldn't respond or were completely incomprehensible!!! They've shorted us pieces of chicken, lied about what they have, and snapped at us for asking simple questions like whether we can order an 8 or 12 piece crispy meal. They get mad when you CLARIFY your order, even when they are the ones who repeated it wrong!! It's like they're offended by the idea of doing their job!! Like what the actual fuck?? Who the hell do these people think they are?!?! They are getting ANGRY at us because they tried saying "original" chicken back to us when we would clarify that 'no we said crispy, please'?! And they somehow thought it was their mighty-high-horse-right to yell at us that they don't have cripsy?!?!?! YELL at us!!! Like holy hell!! Why couldn't they clarify that they don't have cripsy when they asked us WHICH type of chicken we wanted for our basket AFTER they knew how many pieces we wanted?!?! It's like if a cynical person popped an entire bottle of bitch pills down their throats! When you pull up to the window and question the attitude, they act unhinged... flailing arms, constipated body language, and glaring like you're the one causing trouble!! It's honestly unsettling!!! Last night, we pulled up before 9pm, and the voice on the speaker sounded high out of his mind: "Uh, yeah?" We asked for an 8‑piece original meal. No answer. Minutes later: "...yeah, go ahead." We repeated the order clearly. Silence. When we asked if he was still there, he snickered and said "uh huh, go ahead," followed by coughing and what sounded like a muted headset. Meanwhile, employees were ducking behind walls, laughing, and hiding from cars. Oookay... McDonald's it is, then, I guess?! We don't go here often, but we've been here enough over the years to confidently say this isn't a one‑time issue. It's a pattern. And it's not just us, we CONSTANTLY see other customers frustrated, repeating their orders, being told to pull forward because something went wrong, or laughing nervously because the employees are so rude and unprofessional. This location has a great legacy in Kentucky, but the current staff does not care AT ALL. If it's late at night or anywhere near dinner time, good luck. My last two trips here have ended in wrong/missing items. The first time all the biscuits and a side was missing. They're across town so running back out was a no go. A call did nothing but get my name on a list if I came back in. Last night I ordered a regular chicken sandwich meal. Didn't need what they forgot the last time so didn't mention it again. Checked my bag to make sure everything was there. At the next stop light pulled the sandwich out and it was the spicy, not what I ordered. It had at least half a cup of the hot mayo sauce on it. Anyone remember the days back when Kentucky Fried Chicken had standards. If chicken did not sell, they would take the chicken and toss it in the garbage. Just went through drive through 05/13/2023 at 7:30 PM and order a 4 piece with two sides. Got a breast and three other little somethings, I think they call them wings and leg and all of it was so tuff and I could not even pull the skin (my favorite part) off the meat, I just had to toss it in the garbage. Guess next time I want fresh chicken, I'll just go to Grimes's across the street. read more

Wanted to get the spicy chicken bowl but they have discontinued it once again. Ended up trying the chicken sandwich and fries. Everything was good. Added some extra pickles on the sandwich to make it perfect. The employees were friendly and the inside of the restaurant was clean, even the kitchen area that I could see. read more

We visit this location maybe once a month. The food is always fresh but the staff is amazing. I went in a few days before Halloween to request an empty chicken box and got a name tag too, to complete my boys Halloween Costume. This was probably his best costume yet! The employees asked that we stopped in on Halloween but when we got there the dining room was locked. Once I went through the drive through and ordered and once they saw my son- they unlocked so my boy could go in and take some pictures. It was a good time with so many laughs. Ordered my food at 9:06pm and was still parked outside waiting by 9:25pm. Unacceptable and do not recommend this location will not be returning EVER. Go to Rally's 2 building over, faster service and better food. read more

This is the second time that I have stopped in to pick up a 16 piece bucket and was told they were out of chicken, but would have some in 20 minutes or so. It is with regret that I am writing this. For I love KFC ! As a Kentuckian my family knew the Colonel and I believe he would turn over in his grave if he ate at the KFC at the Tates Creek Center. Since the renovation I was sincerely looking forward to its opening hoping that it would be better then the last time that they had a bad report from the health department. The management has not changed. I had chicken that must have been left over from yesterday....rubber ! A biscuit that was a rock ! And to top it all off the cashier wasn't wearing gloves while getting my order after working the register. Where is the Manager ? Again this is not the KFC that I have known and of the true tradition and legacy of the Colonel I am afraid KFC will not be in business for the next generation ! read more

Now I may have not went in and ordered but I got it the delivery way, so let me start the New chicken sandwich tastes amazing and crispy like always and even when delivered it's still hot with the help of the foil cover. The fries are immaculate perfectly seasoned warm and tasty the best fries I've ever had same with the chicken sandwich the best even better then Chick-fil-A which is a bold statement but I stand with that statement. Lastly the macaroni and cheese some say it is disgusting I say it's the best Mac and cheese in the whole world nice and creamy and warm and delicious. The KFC on Tate's Creek Rd is the worst KFC in Lexington. The staff is as rude as all get out. They don't close till 10pm and I went through the drive thru at 7pm and was told that all they had was thighs and wings and I was told they wasn't going to make anymore. My advice is to never go to KFC on Tate's Creek Rd. read more

My daughter and I spent over 6 hours in the ER after eating here. Food poisoning!!! We both got huge needles in our arms for fluids after severe dehydration from vomiting to the point of dry heaving. Neither of us could keep down water. The ER was the only answer. She missed school and I missed work. NEVER eat here! read more

I had already read the disappointing reviews, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I didn't even get past the woman on the microphone at the drive-through. I asked her three times what came with the four piece dinner, and all three times she spoke so fast and not very loud, I could not understand what she was saying. I asked her if she would please repeat it, talking a little, more slowly, and she said "this is the way that I talk". At that point, I decided I was wasting my time at this KFC. It's no wonder there was no one there, and I can't imagine they're going to be able to stay open much longer with the quality of food and service that people are reporting. However, there is a Wonderful home cooking drive-through restaurant just across the street on Sarah Drive. I drove right across the street, to Grimes' home cooked fast food, and had the best fried chicken I've ever had, with homemade sides that were out of this world! This place blows KFC out of the water! They have way more choices of sides, and it's all fresh and homemade! The chicken was extremely juicy, crispy on the outside, perfectly breaded, and very good size portions of food for less than what KFC charges for poor quality and poor service! Check out Grimes'! I'm a vegetarian and I don't usually like fast food. This place has the best Cole slaw. It's so fresh and not over dressed.

I don't eat meat but I ventured here on Easter to just have some mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and vegetables. I always love their coleslaw. I may even have a little dessert, I thought. They were not busy. I was the only customer for awhile, and I ate inside. I got the "food bar" since that was more cost effective. I should've looked at it before I paid. It was nasty. The food was unappealing and hadn't been changed or monitored for a long time. Employees were all hanging out in the back so I had to call out to them since I couldn't reach the serving utensils and I knew I wasn't permitted behind the serving line. It was great if you like overcooked vegetables, dried up foods that should be moist, and slimy, gooey offerings of desserts. Some foods needed to be changed out for fresher ones. It could have been a good food bar, but it wasn't. I wouldn't recommend the food bar. Sides to go have always been okay, but if you want to eat inside, look at it before you order. read more

Fairly typical of any kfc restaurant. Fast service of quality family style food if you don't mind too much grease. This location has a buffet that always seems to be well tended to. Frequent coupon offerings makes this one of the better options in the Tates Creek Center. The biscuits are always wonderful and there is a vast array of side options. They offer family meals ranging from two types of fried chicken, grilled chicken, chicken tenders, and chicken poppers. Delicious sandwiches and great five dollar combo meals. read more

This is the worst KFC in Lexington. They seem to not know how to take orders properly, their menu prices differ from their actual cost (6 piece #7 says $7.63, at the window they said $10.59), and they have the past 3 times i went there gave drinks but no straws. I have given this location tries 3 times, each 4 months apart and every time has been awful. Go to another KFC in Lexington if you really want KFC. read more
