OK, will say by far, much better food for the money than most chain restaurants, but more expensive. Is it worth the etra money? Some may say yes, some may so know, I just say I think it depends on the night and the food preparation. I have been here several times and each night is much different. I usually get the enchilada dinner or nachos. They've always been good and I realy can't complain about the food. Always excellent and always served in a timely manner. Most the the waitstaff I have dealt with are usually not the greatest. I see managers get on them to hurry and get this out or this table has been waiting, etc. When ammanegement is on waitstaff, things seem to work great. Drinks usually take forever to get refills on. This place stays busy. I think the best way to descrbie it is to hire more waitstaff. There is almost always atleast a 15-30 minute wait for a table. Waitstaff would probably get better tips having 10 tables vs. 20 and leaving some to believe the waiter just doesn't care. I'm sure most do ans they work for tips. I would definately come back for the food. A great place for Mexican and yes, I like it better than Casa Ole for food. I jsut get much better service over at Casa Ole and it's closer, so I choose to go there. If I am in the area of Gringos and want Mexican, this is where we go. read more

Decent Tex-Mex here at Gringo's. It's clean and the service was great. I went with a group of coworkers around 11 and the parking lot was packed. Make sure if you go, you plan ahead and get there early. I ordered the beef fajitas and even though I prefer my onions cooked slightly longer (I like them REALLY caramelized), the meat itself was pretty good. A great place to get lunch and a few margaritas before going back to the grind/ day off. Nicky, the bartender, makes a strong margarita, so be careful with them. Otherwise, they're spectacular. Foodwise, I've had everything except the shrimp tacos, and it's some of the best Tex-Mex I've had. Notice I said, Tex-Mex, not Mexican. It's definitely for the mainstream crown who just want a good meal, and not an authentic Mexican experience. I would recommend starting out with the Tacos Al Carbon, then branching out from there. I enjoyed the southwestern egg rolls! It was enough for me to eat as an entree which is awesome since I wasn't In the mood for a full meal. It came with a creamy cilantro dipping sauce that had a crisp taste to it. The lighting was great and the location is clean. This is important to me so just wanted to share that tidbit. When I lived in Deer Park, TX, I came here often. On my most recent visit back home, I coordinated a visit because I realized I hadn't been in 7 YEARS! I have to say, they haven't changed a bit. The green sauce that you get on the table with the chips is so good. We also had excellent service. Additionally, I was a huge fan of the tortilla soup. You get a huge portion (even if you just get the cup) and it comes with a bunch of add-ins on the side. I wasn't a fan of the margaritas - I had both frozen and on the rocks. Good food and good prices. We got the fajitas for two and enjoyed the beef and chicken. The beef was a little tough but tasted delicious, the chicken was extremely tender but lacked the intense flavor of the beef. Their house-made tortillas were really good too. We went on a Friday night and service was as prompt as it could be with a long line. We passed the wait with a happy hour margarita at the bar that was delicious and strong. Chips, queso, and salsa were good. They also have a ranch-cilantro sauce that's served with the chips, kinda reminded me of the jalepeno ranch from Chuys. I'm actually pretty disappointed. I've been coming here for years and today was the first day I felt kind of sad by the service. Well the staff was amazing but it took 20 min for my Togo salad which I get. My issue is that the managers answer was a queso in my Togo bag ... it wasn't a big enough issue for me. Everytime I'm driving past this restaurant the smell makes my mouth water and my stomach growl even if I'm not hungry. Ummm Good!

I am at the very least outraged by how we were treated at this facility earlier today. Two of my closest friends and I were seated just moments after entering the building. We ordered and were enjoying our complementary chips and salsa while catching up on our previous days. As we laughed and talked about 10 minutes passed before we were approached by the manager Justin Saunders. He expressed to us that noise complaints were received about our table along with foul language. We were, to say the least, deeply disturbed by these accusations as both tables in front and behind us were completely empty. I asked the manager where the complaints came from and was told "just do what I asked y'all to do and there will be no further issues." From there we decided to take our order to go as I was uncomfortable staying there. He then assured us that this is not a "race issue" and that he was just doing his job. His comments, completely unprovoked are displeasing and I would like to speak with someone immediately on how this situation will be addressed as well as how further situations such as this can be avoided. Went on 2/23/2019 It was Margarita Day, asked our waitress if they has any specials was told yes if you sign up. Never did she offer to tell me how to sign up until I asked. The Staff is impeccable, but the food leaves something to be desired. I got the cheese enchiladas which was barely warm. I asked for onions on top which has never been an issue at any Gringos, but at this location apparently it is. Instead they brought them out on little plastic container. Excellent! We ordered queso, chicken fajitas, the mariachi 2.0, burrito con queso with steak, chicken quesadillas, and kids nuggets. Everything was very very good. Gringos is over rated. It's good food, but it's packed with terrible service. So many times we get coupons for free food because someone at our table NEVER got their food. And they have changed the menu, smaller selection. You can't go in to pick up your food, they have to bring it to you. In at least 30 more minutes than they tell you. They have used the pandemic to become very lazy and complacent. Go to el toro or torttias instead. Make them suffer for being crappy. read more

Loved the feel of the restaurant, but when we saw our table it was different? We didn't like that the chairs were lower than the table, and that when we sat down we sunk into them. They were more lounge chairs you would see in a bar than a proper chair for dinner. The Pollo Loco was great, but the quesadillas that my girlfriend ordered were 2 out of 5.. just barely edible. There were many open tables, but the hostess chose one in front of the kitchen. We were quickly reseated to a booth. I never leave reviews. This time I felt compelled to leave one. I dined here today and most definitely will be our last. Celeste was our server and was nothing but rude and disrespectful. She rolled her eyes more than once at us and when we were asking questions about the menu she just looked very annoyed. We could hear her talking about how "annoying" we were to her coworkers. The restaurant is very small so I would suggest maybe not have the waiters talk vulgar when they are in ear shot of other tables especially when they are talking about other people.
