Have seen this place while taking my dog to Pet Supplies and decided to come back and have lunch (which is Mon-Fri from 11-3). The space is not large and it's nice and clean inside. The service was stellar. I ordered a dish from the from the lunch menu and for most dishes, you get a choice of protein -- pork, chicken, tofu, veggie (all $13), filet mignon or shrimp (both $14). I got the Pad Prik King" with filet mignon - a stir fried dish with bell peppers and green beans in a chili paste. My husband ordered "Cashew" with chicken - it included cashews, carrots, bell pepper, onion and dried peppers. Both entrees came with a veggie egg roll. (pics attached). I wasn't a fan of my dish but my husband liked his. I did really like the egg roll. I think I'll give this place another chance but will get something different. Also, I'll get chicken next time. We ordered the shrimp, scallops, green curry and crying tiger. The crying tiger was perfectly cooked and seasoned, with a crust and pepper sauce. The green curry was the typical green curry you would find at a thai place, I would go hotter as even the 4 was a little mild. The shrimp and scallops were very tasty but the scallops were definitely on the smaller side. Overall we got out of here for around 58 pre tip/tax. The location and ambiance are excellent, which made us excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of our experience. The food was extremely disappointing, especially considering the high prices. The Pad Thai was little more than a plate of noodles, with barely any vegetables, protein, or other traditional ingredients. It lacked both flavor and authenticity. The papaya salad was equally disappointing--it did not taste fresh and seemed as though it had been prepared well in advance. For the prices they charge, I expected much higher quality and better execution. Sadly, the food did not come close to matching the atmosphere or the cost. Good happy hour deal!! I used inkind (highly recommend for discount) and tried the chicken green curry & crying tiger & grilled shrimp and scallop from the happy hour menu. All of the food was tasty. The crying tiger was our favorite as it was cooked perfectly medium and seasoned well. The green curry was flavorful and spicy, but I would have wanted a bit more protein! The scallops were pretty small for the price and doused in fish sauce. Grilled shrimp was big and juicy! We went here on a whim, and I'm now convinced it's the best Thai food in Pearland! We got the panang curry and a noodle dish that I can't remember the name of! But the noodles had Chinese sausage, fish cake, and something called XO sauce I think. The noodles were literally one of my favorite things that I have ever eaten and the panang curry was one of the best I've ever had. Be warned that their spice level is intense - we typically like spicy but even so, we got a 2/5, and it was the most spicy we would enjoy. This is my favorite Thai spot in Pearland. Warning, it can be a bit cold in there though, so bring a jacket. I love how the food is piping hot, even after 15 minutes. The seasoning and spice levels are always hitting. I got a pad Thai and that was 3 meals for me which is a great deal for the price point. Service was fast and the decor inside is nice. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch with friends while out in the land of pears. Thanks Jason D. for the recommendation, and to Lyndsey N., Jillian C., and Lupe M. for meeting up impromptu! Upon being seated, they informed us that they have all day happy hour and bar bites on Saturdays and Sundays. This was perfect, as they offer cocktails for $5-6 and smaller-sized snack entrees for $6. While the website says that this is only offered on Sundays, they mentioned that they recently included Saturdays on this special as well. I love a good deal, so huge win! For my drink, I ordered an Old Fashioned. This came out in a neat tilting glass, which I've never seen before. The cup does not sit flat on the table, but rather is tilted and spins around like a top. Believe it or not, it seems more difficult to accidentally spill a drink in this vs. in a flat-bottom cup! The Old Fashioned itself, while not the best I've had, tasted like a standard one, and I can't complain for $6. For my second drink, I ordered a Woodford Reserve bourbon on the rocks, which came out in the same style of cup. This was $5, which is a great deal for good bourbon. For my food, I ordered the Thai Crunch Bites and the Bangkok Bay Battered Bites. The Thai Crunch Bites are their take on chicken karaage - breaded chicken tossed in salt and basil. These came out hot and crispy and went along well with the dipping sauce. The Bangkok Bay Battered Bites were two fried fish fillets served atop a bed of waffle fries and dipping sauce on the side. I thought the fish in this one tasted a little too fishy, and slices were very thin. The main character here was the waffle fries, which is what I ended up liking way more. Service was attentive throughout, and at 2pm on a Saturday, there were only a couple other tables dining in. All day happy hour on Saturday is definitely attractive for bringing people in (myself included), but we seemed to be the only table partaking in the deals. As soon as I walked in, there was plenty of space, so I was seated right away. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. The atmosphere was clean and inviting, and I felt comfortable throughout my visit. They also have a bar, so you can enjoy a drink at any time of the day. I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, with the curry being a standout. The lunch portions were generous, though I do tend to prefer a lot of rice with my curry. Extra rice is available for $3, which I guess it's understandable. The Thaicoon rolls were made fresh to order, arriving piping hot with perfectly crispy wonton skin and a savory filling. Came in on Easter Sunday afternoon so the place was quiet. The restaurant still did a good take out. I had the crispy chilli fish and hubby had salmon in red curry sauce. We shared some salmon chips. Our server was professional and friendly and served us quickly. The salmon chips were unusual, but tasty and the sauce finished them off perfectly. Ate here for dinner last night! I had 2 Thai 75 to drink during dinner, which was nice and tasty! My husband started with the Night in Bangkok, which he wasn't a huge fan of because the Mezcal taste was overpowering. His second drink was Phuket, which he liked. I had the Pad Woonsen with chicken at spice level 1 with no tomatoes and it was delicious! The serving was large and I took home over half to eat today! We had the Thaicoon rolls with pork for an app. They were nice and crispy and the dipping sauce paired really well with them. Sometimes pork spring rolls have a weird taste but these were sooo good! My husband had the Drunken Chicken on spice level 3 and he said it was one of the best he's had. The service was great! I took my daughter here on a Tuesday since they had a "kids eat free" special. My picky daughter loved the chicken Mac and cleaned her plate. I had the beef Thai fried rice, which was pretty good. I'm not sure if it justifies the $18.50 price tag though. The food seems to be a little on the pricier side, but if you're craving some Thai, this would be a good choice. I ordered door dash from this restaurant for the first time. I have a 3 star because I was not super happy with the portion size. They charged almost $4 extra for fried rice instead of white and they did not give a lot. As for entree I ordered a level 3 Cashew Chicken. The spice level was good. I liked that there are a lot of veggies, but on the flip side it wasn't a lot of chicken. I also don't know why businesses seem to up-charge with door dash. Called Thaicoon Restaurant located at 11930 Broadway St, Ste 160, Pearland, TX 77584 Friday evening (March 20, 2025) to place an order for pickup for dinner. Ordered blooming pad thai w/ chx and shrimp, green curry w/ chx and pineapple fried rice w/ chx. Picked it up after ~15 minutes and brought it home. While my wife was serving our child some pad thai, to our great disappointment and disgust, she pulled out what looks to be a portion of a wired steel brush that is commonly used to clean in a commercial kitchen. This was not our first time ordering the same dishes from this Thaicoon location, but our first in finding a physical contaminant in our food. Although the food flavors taste descent-good, if we were not closely paying attention, or even missed it, our child could have ingested this wired steel brush and it could have been a whole lot worse. This could happen to anyone at anytime, but such contamination is 100% preventable if the employees/staff was properly trained and paid close attention to their tools and utensils before each use. One can only hope that management will use this as a teaching and re-training opportunity to all employees and staff, and even maybe re-visit proper cleaning and sanitation practices and/or SOP's. We will have to look elsewhere for Thai food next time, as we cannot risk what other contaminations (visible and non-visible) our food might have at Thaicoon next time. According to City of Pearland's Food Inspection Report Cards online, it looks like the last food inspection was conducted at this facility on May 2, 2023 (almost 2 years ago!), with the restaurant passing with an "A", score of 100. If the City's website is accurate, then they have not had any regular/routine food inspection for almost 2 years which is unacceptable! Per Texas Food Establishment Rules (TFER), food service establishments must be inspected no less than once per year, depending on its risk factors. Full service establishments such Thaicoon should be high up there on risks. Hopefully their website is just not up-to-date or maybe City of Pearland is running behind on inspections and that is even more concerning! read more

Hubs and I stumbled upon this place with an A courtesy of the city of Pearland. Very clean, and the elephant decorations wowed me. We came during happy hour. I wasn't too happy to see that the menu only had shots and beer and certain appetizers. I ordered the happy hour dumplings, firecracker shrimp, and the regular money bags appetizer. My drink was a Dreamsicle. The Hubs ordered salmon skins as an appetizer ( not on HH menu) and the seafood mix fried rice pineapple. His drink, of course, was an Old Fashioned. The food was an 8 out of 10. The money bags bka crab rangoons had way too much cream cheese and less crab. Salmon skin were good and the Hubs enjoyed his pineapple. Came here on a Sunday evening and was seated right away. I had a hangry toddler on my hands so I ordered a dumpling appetizer for him soon after sitting down. We also ordered the drunken noodles and yellow curry as an entre. I thought the appetizer was taking a while and it wound up coming out with the entrees. Which usually isn't a big deal to me buuuut a hangry toddler is a handful. Thankfully the staff were all super nice and a few of them came by to interact with him to help keep him occupied. The dumplings were my favorite. Very tasty and cooked perfectly. All the portion sizes were pretty good. The curry and noodles were nice but to me nothing really stood out about them from any other Thai restaurant in the area. I had wanted more rice for my curry but more tables had been seated and our server was busy and did not come back by until dropping off the check. Coming in on a Friday lunch, this is a newer joint within the Land O' Pears. My friend and I usually meet up once a month or so to try something local. Walking in, the place was quite clean, the hostess greeted immediately, and we were sat without wait. The place was busy though. If you're familiar with the area, this place can be a ghost town at lunch and primetime. So to see such business was interesting. Many places here bank on takeout orders. Their menu is huge. See the pics. I didn't even get every page. Interesting note, they also have a drink menu and advertise as a pub. We have no legit drinking grounds in this area, so I may have to come back to sample the liquids. To the goods! I prefer the pas Kapow Scallops, heat level 4. Honestly, they weren't overly flavorful of anything. So I wouldn't order them again. My friend ordered the Panang Curry spice level three. OMG it was so damn gooooooood! I will be getting that next time with some more Alice on it. Give me heat. We also tried out the Darlin' Dumplings. They were solid. Not overly flavorful, but what you expect from dumplings with a denser and interesting presentation. I'd get them again. They have lunch specials, so plan accordingly depending on what you want. We ordered the Thai Tea, Pandan leaf iced tea, money bags, pineapple fried rice and blooming pad thai. Their Thai Tea is bland, it tastes all right at first, but if you leave it for a little bit the ice will melt and you won't taste anything. Pandan leaf iced tea was also bland, but adding more sugar helped. The money bags were good. They're crab rangoon and the stuffing is very flavorful. However, it was COLD!! The outside was not that crispy, and the inside was cold. They should check the fillings' temperature before serving it. Pineapple fried rice was served on a pineapple. It has a lot of veggies in it (tomatoes, onions, cucumber). It tasted all right. Usually fried rice will be dry but this rice was a little bit wet and mushy. Their pad thai is good!! It has a very strong tamarind taste, not sweet at all. It looked small at first but they gave you a lot! Overall, the experience was worth a try. I stopped by Thaicoon Restaurant & Pub for a late dinner on a Tuesday. Located in the same shopping center as Ong Jas Viet Kitchen and Jeremiah's Italian Ice, you shouldn't have any issues parking. I'm a big fan of Thailand so I was excited to see a new one open up close to home. As you walk in, the ambiance is nice. Pretty trendy. But looks can be deceiving sometimes as we all know. The service was mediocre. They didn't check on us once throughout our meal until the end when it was time for the check. You'll also see the ambiance reflected in the price as the food is more expensive than you'd expect for Thai. I went with the pad Thai with filet mignon. They offer some nice protein choices for their pad Thai. Not just the typical options. Here, you can go with filet mignon, shrimp, or duck in addition to the regular. The presentation of the pad Thai is nice as it's enclosed in an omelet. While the presentation was great, the flavor was average. The meat was solid and the beef was of higher quality than you typically would get at a Thai restaurant. It's the tamarind sauce that was a bit lacking. I also had the money bags appetizer which was a similar experience. The presentation is great. Deep-friend wontons filled with crab, cream cheese, and scallions shaped to resemble little bags of money. They even use some wonton to make it seem like a rubber band tying the bag. Really cool. My wife and I were saddened by the closure of a Thai restaurant near our house. She had heard about Katy's Thaicoon Restaurant & Pub having opened a new location in Pearland, so we tried it out. I was super glad. The food was VERY good and the service was also exceptional. Our waiter was very polite and refilled our Tea without us asking. My wife had the Pad Keee Mao Drunken Noodle at a level 3 spice. I am not a spicey food person, but I tried her meal and though a little bite, was really just perfect for me. I had the Blooming Pad Thai which was beautifully presented in a thin crepe style egg wrapper. The noodles were fresh, the Pad Thai flavor was right on point. I got a level 2 spice and wished I went a little spicier, which I will do on our next visit, AND there WILL BE a next visit. Try Thaicoon, don't let this GEM down, you will thank me later. read more
