It took 15 min just to get chips. Then, our server would only check on our table occasionally or bring what we asked for. We asked for a to go box and 15min later he asked if we needed one. I like their food, but don't use door dash when ordering from this place. The first time I ordered they forgot the queso.. AND tortillas for fajitas! I figured I'd give it another try.. well this time, I again ordered queso with the meals and now NO CHIPS! I even requested extra chips.. How does this happen? Love the food, drinks and service. It's a little crowded sometimes because it is so popular. In my opinion that's the only negative.

Good food, fast service, great chips and salsa. The food is always good, even the salads which are usually not great at Texmex. It usually gets to the table faster than expected. Even with a large family we've never had to wait long to get our food. The chips and salsa ranks as some of the best around. Chips are always crispy and the salsa is a good texture for dipping with the right amount of spice. Added bonus is the free ice cream which is always a hit for the kids. read more

It's unbelievable how every single time I eat or order at this place, they get my order completely wrong. They are incapable of listening.. order the family fajitas to go and ask for a mixture of corn and flour tortillas and they only give flour. Ask for a coke without ice and they give ice. Order takeout and be told a specific time and wait for 45 minutes until it's finally ready. This was an unusual Labor Day meal. We found a snake in our garage and that completely through our day off. Gringos is a casual Tex-Mex restaurant. This place hands down have the best salsa and chips. The chips are light and crisp. The salsa has just the mixture of spices with a nice kick. I ordered the Marisco Pollo Pick. The entree consist of a chicken breast topped with gulf shrimp and crawfish tails sautéed in a creamy white wine sauce. The chicken breast was so juicy and the sauce was delicious. So I listened to the others and ordered the Pollo Marisco. It was so good! If I wasn't with a bunch of other people I would go back tomorrow to eat it again! My only complaint would be that my charro beans weren't very warm. They tasted good, but I think they sat in the window for too long. For that reason alone I decided to knock off a star. The food is watered down that's for sure to the salsa and enchiladas. My plate the enchiladas weren't even holding together it was very disappointing. So we went back for another try tonight I know an a Saturday it usually a long long wait but we only waited 10mins for a table. Food was great salas actually stayed on the chips, enchiladas AMAZING and hot. Traveling in the Houston area and had to try out some Tex Mex while I was in town. Was intending to grab some dinner to go but when I arrived the bar had a few seats open and the friendly bartender encouraged me to stay. Upon my review of the drinks menu I was perplexed as to which cocktail to try - so I asked for some advice. My bartender confidently assured me that the seasonal watermelon margarita was just what I was looking for. I didn't expect the size I got ( it was a bowl not a glass ) but the huge slice of watermelon on the side of the rim complemented the drink nicely. The drink was the right combination of sweet and tangy - the alcohol perfectly balanced - it was delightful. I promptly received a huge basket of tortilla chips and two sides - fresh salsa and a creamy dip I couldn't place. I also was surprised with a sample of their queso cheese dip - Devine melty-ness and I could have overdosed on it - but I wanted to leave room for my main dinner. I ordered the Chili- Relenos plate with ground beef( this is one of my favorite mex dishes). I was not disappointed - it was the first time I had this dish with meat stuffed inside the chili pepper but the combination of sauce, cheese and beef made the meal terrific but was way too much to eat !!! My bartender was very attentive to me and even shared with me a small sample of his mango margarita which was superb ( didn't have drink regret but sure would recommend it to anyone who was looking for more of a tropical drink) Overall this was a great meal and environment to have a dinner. Place was packed so if you have a large group prepare to wait. Hope to make it back here again in the future read more

Incredibly FAST service tonight! My meal was on the table five minutes after it was ordered! The citrus tea is highly addictive. It does not contain alcohol, but its flavor is so good, you cannot have only one. I will not have an adult beverage tonight, this is so good. The meal was very fresh and hot from the oven. Ordered the pollo marisco and it was excellent. Chicken breast was not dried out, grilled to perfection. The combination of the chicken, shrimp, crawfish tails, and white wine sauce was just right. Just got into town and was looking for some good food. And let me tell you, Best food we have eaten since COVID-19. The service was absolutely amazing. Check in was super easy as well. They even called us to make sure we we're coming. Both the green and red salsa was on point. I got the Cadillac frozen margarita which was the BOMB!!! Hubby got a Dos Esquios dressed. I had the fajitas bowl with beef and had the rice taken out and opted for lettuce. Even though it's a hot dish the lettuce was surprisingly good in it. Hubby had the chicken fajitas and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Our server Melanie is very informative and really does take care of her customers. We've heard a lot of good things about Gringo's. I think it was good for the value and portions are really big! You definitely get a lot for what you pay. We came during lunch hour which was very busy we had to sit outside and wait but they have plenty of seating for everyone who has to wait. We waited about 10 minutes the restaurant was busy but our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Great service, Definitely recommend for a good Tex-Mex restaurant. read more

Went to dinner . Was told a 35 minute wait . No problem . Sweltering heat outside and we noticed lots of others waiting along a side wall for their table . After they were all seated we were asked to remain waiting outside . Maybe that is their policy which is fine but it should apply to everyone. There was a lady standing there with her mixed drink waiting for her table . Told us she was a regular .. she remained inside . Needless to say we left and will not be returning.
