My boyfriend went here to get an oil change bc he didn't feel like doing it himself and they said it was leaking and his "oil pan was spinning" they actually unscrewed the bolt or whatever it is. and then when he said no give me my car back they screwed it back. they quoted him 500-600 dollars for a new oil pan. it's 90 dollars at auto zone read more

My daughter has made four visits to the one in Fairborn they are absolutely horrible and can only throw Parts at a vehicle as of today she's down 1,400 and still has the original problem that she's been in on the 4th visit , strongly recommend staying away unless you just need tires which is apparently they can do that . read more

Beware!!! Grismer Tire in Springfield put brakes on our 2018 Challenger and less than a week later the right front caliper was heating up and making noise. It was also confirmed that they did not bleed the brakes. Chris one of the managers did not seem to care. We were charged 1100.00. $600 later we got new calipers. read more

Was told that control arm bushings was bad , he had his finger on the ball joint, ask how he knew the arm was bad he said I just look at it and told me both side was bad. Just by looking at parts he knew that , do not trust them, good for me I knew better than that, control arms on both side was then checked by 2 others and they found NO bad parts, had the vehicle alignment done some where else. read more

Poor quality oil change plus lack of COVID precautions. I've used this location many times, mostly because they offer four free oil changes with a set of tires. This is perhaps the only reason to use them. There are no added-value services like inspection of your vehicle and there is always an "upsell" call where my car really should get another couple thousand in services. The most annoying part is likely because of messy clean-up the car ALWAYS leaks oil on my driveway for a couple days. Every. Single. Time! Now for COVID. There are commercials on the TV and their website about the precautions they are taking. Yet when my husband picked up the car the men in the bays were not wearing masks and several customers in the waiting room also were without them. Note that this is right after Governor DeWine's mandate that ALL BUSINESSES must enforce masks due to the severe increase in cases. I called the manager to express my concern about how my car was handled as I am on chemo meds. He essentially said he was not the "mask police" and he would not be "one of THOSE people", clearly feeling my concern was unfounded. He also gave me a confusing explanation about why he did not require any of his staff in the bays to wear masks. Bottom line, he was not concerned about my health at all so I am not entrusting any more business to them. read more

I have had Grismer in Hilliard, service all my and my family's vehicles for over 20 years. From general maintenance and tires to expensive major repairs. I spent tens of thousands of dollars over this period. The work had always been excellent and completed promptly at a fair cost. Two events ocurred this year that forced me to no longer patronize Grismer. Early spring 2023 my wife took her vehicle there for an oil change and tire rotation. After driving for a few days, on her way to work, she noticed the vehicle was shaking. She called Grismer and made an appointment after work. They found that all 5 lug nuts on the front driver wheel were loose. They determined they were not tightened properly during the tire rotation. Mistakes do happen, there appeared to be no damage to the wheel so she was satisfied with their contrite honesty and response. The second event occurred this summer 2023 when my son took his vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation as well. A few days after the service, the front end began shaking as he was driving home. It was still open business hours for Grismer so he drove there to have the problem checked out. Unbelievably, it was loose lug nuts again on one of the wheels ! They explained since it was an older vehicle rust often accumulates on the brake drum preventing the tire rim from seating properly and so the nuts can tighten. They cleaned the rust drum surface and put the wheel back on. Four weeks later my son's vehicle engine had a major malfunction while he was driving on the freeway. The engine had seized up and it sounded like a cylinder was blown out. We had it towed to Grismer Hilliard. They called the next day and informed us the engine was blown due to barely any oil in it. They said I needed to come and have the vehicle towed from their facility. When I went to get it, they showed me the oil dip stick was not registering any oil in the crank case. I asked why there was no sign of an oil leak anywhere on the engine, frame or ground and their answer was it must have been burning oil. ??? No engine smoke, no oil leak visible. I guess the distracted mechanic that didn't tighten the lug nuts must not have refilled the crank case during the oil change. I got no satisfactory response from Grismer Management who offered a ridiculous dismissive theory of unusual oil consumption by this particular engine, that however was never noted before during previous oil changes. They lost a loyal customer over this. read more

2 negative visits. Visit 1 July 2020: called to get new tires and an oil change. They took my name and set up appt, and I had to stop them before they got me off the phone to make sure they will have the tires I need in stock for my appt. He looked them up and said "yes". "Cool, they are buy 3 get 1?" "Yes they are". "Cool." Extra cost for my type of oil for the free oil change deal, no problem. That was the extent of pricing and numbers. As I'm getting my car back he tells me how much it will be with the alignment they did (that my prius didn't need), "I didn't need an alignment" "it's in the price we talked about on the phone" "we didn't talk about price on the phone, I had to keep you guys on the phone to make sure you even had the tires and the deal I was expecting" He got all upset and started yelling at me through his mask about "well, you got an alignment for free then." I asked him to stop yelling at me since it sounded like he was yelling at me through his mask. He went off on how he hates wearing a mask... Visit 2 December 2020: I called to ask why my tires are losing so much pressure since I just bought them in July. I figured I might as well get my free oil change while I'm in. I get in to drop off my car and he tells me that it will be like $30 to check my tires, no one said it would cost anything. I assumed they would cover it since they aren't even 6 months old. Nope, I didn't get the road hazard protection, I didn't think potential faulty tires was a road hazard. He then tells me that there is a mandatory 11.50 covid cleaning charge. This was never mentioned to me on the phone. It wasn't being done in July during the pandemic. His response was that, they would have told me about it on the phone. I was not told at all. He did end up checking the tires for free, one was down to 27psi for no visible reason. At checkout he didn't charge the cleaning fee, since I wasn't told about it previously. Why arguing is the first response rather than customer service I'm not sure. I know there is a prevailing idea that mechanics are always trying to "take you" by over charging, I just thought it was an outdated stereotype. This location specifically has not been upfront with me on pricing or customer service friendly since this manager starting being the one I deal with. Ya live and ya learn I guess? Ugh, I just don't want to start assuming it will be a bad experience every time now. read more

Had an issue where my oil plug was replaced by a pan saver. Wasn't told it was a pan saver. I was told that it was just an over sized plug. Originally this was a negative review but the manager called and asked me to come in to look at it. He fixed the issue and made it right. I've had a lot of work done on my cars here and would recommend them to anyone. If you have an issue just let them know and they will do what they can. read more

I need a flat tire replacement and live near the Grismer Tire in Fairborn so I called them first thing this morning. The person who answered just immediately said they didn't have any Michelin tires, which they clearly advertise on their website home page. He said they could order one and have it in a couple of days. I need it ASAP so I called Grismer in Beavercreek, the gentleman searched and found a suitable replacement, said he could order it, have it this afternoon, call me when they got it and change it for me today. What a difference in dealerships! I will never call Fairborn Grismer Tire again. The only thing that got Fairborn a 1 rating is they answered the phone. read more

We have been using this location for years without problem. My husband was out of town, he usually takes care of our vehicle issues; so, I took one of my cars to have a piece of metal hanging from the bottom looked at. Even though it was a Saturday morning, all of their appointments were being worked on and they were gearing up for a busy day, they took my vehicle back, elevated it, had the metal piece back in place and tried to replace a screw in another area - all within 10 minutes! I was not charged for their service and was extremely grateful for their friendliness and and willingness to pay attention to my car needs so quickly. read more

Was just getting new tires...in the process; they managed to break my front suspension (didn't realize it as I live 2 miles away and initially thought that sound was just a normal rattle that the old tires noise had covered up). Took it back; they looked at it, told me the front end was messed up--$750 please. I told them where to suspend it--on and off customer for 20 years; they ripped me off and broke my car?! Then deny responsibility? I've had something similar happen at another shop in the past and the managers response was "I apologize sir; we just need to make an adjustment" (it was more than that; but they fixed it so I can forgive a mistake--I can't forgive 'we fucked up, so give us $750 to fix it'; but screw you pay me? Fuck off Grismer--I am literally probably just going to get a different car. Speaking of which; I kinda want the $350 for the tires back; since you rendered the car barely driveable; why tf do I need 4 new tires? I will bet you money that either a) FB gestapo takes this down or b) Grizz there bitches about it. What won't happen from the automotive service center with the worst service/mechanical competence in Fairborn? Them not going crying to FB to get it taken down--what REALLY won't happen is them fixing what they broke. They do my oil changes since they are tough to screw up and I usually have a coupon from the mail circulars. The other reviews pretty much have the vibe of this place down. I will say that my interaction with the Grismer employees has never been strained or unpleasant. My beef is with them always trying to sell me something. I swear that I could take a brand new car off the dealer lot and they would tell me I needed a tire rotation! WTFG? (That is "What The Frick Grismer?) Anyhow, they can continue to do my oil changes, but anything else, I'd shop elsewhere. Unfortunately I think true automotive care is something only trusted to a friend of a friend or a handy family member. Until this last week I would have given them a four star rating, but not with the problems we've had. Came in last week to get a brake light switch replaced along with a oil change. We discovered the day after getting car back discovered remote start does not work. I called and spoke to Rob and advised him of the problem,, he said he didn't think it was anything they did and that maybe my battery was dead. I knew that the remote starter has a security feature when the key is not in the ignition and you push the brake pedal the will stop. I figured when they put in the switch they forgot to hook that back up. Rob said to bring car back and if it was something that they did they would correct it. We took the car back the next day and they fixed the problem, but then created another problem. When they gave the car back to my wife they told her to watch out for the wires hanging down by where your feet go. They told her to take it back to the place that installed the remote starter, what the hell they are not the ones who left the wires hanging down, it was Grismer's fault. I called back this week and talked to Nick, and advised him of the situation and the trouble we had. He apologized for the trouble and said to bring it back and they would fix and he give us two oil change coupons for our trouble. He said to bring it in and they would just fix it out in the parking lot, and said if needed he would fix it himself so we wouldn't have to wait. I told him the day and time we would be there he said that would be fine. My wife took car back on the day and time I told him, and guess what, Nick was not even there. My wife was told she would have to wait until someone was free to fix THEIR mistake.She had to wait about 45min, the waiting room was full so she had to stand there and wait, and she is on crutches. We have been using them for about 11 years and this is the worst experience we have had. read more

I dig going there for my oil changes. I am very anal about the oil and filters that I use and they allow me to bring in my own oil and filter and give me a nice discount for not using their oil. All the other places in Fairborn either want full price with my oil or they won't do it at all. I gave them 4 stars because they are so busy that I have to make an appointment for an oil change to keep from waiting and they always try to sell me something else. I guess I can't really fault them for it because they have to make money where they can. read more

Then if you can't afford it they will try and sell you on a Grismer no payments for 6-month card - great now you are in debt to them forever for fixes to your car. My 21 yr old daughter took her Toyota Yaris in for new brake pads and rotors. I was expecting about $500 for the job buy the estimate was $1000!! Two other estimates I got were for about $500. This is speculation, but they either have extremely high labor rates or they were attempting to take advantage of a young female. You can decide for yourself. The guy at the desk was a sexist jerk. I went for an oil change and ended up not letting them touch my car. The guy was very condescending and he took a very forceful tone with me because he wanted me to get several other things worked on, and I told him I couldn't afford it at this time. Then he got extremely, visibly agitated when I told him that the engine vibrations were causing some cracked plastic on the bumper and undercarriage to rattle, that I was aware of this and I can't afford that, either. (So, they wouldn't come back and tell me THAT needed done, too) Instead of just saying "okay" and moving on, he immediately told me I need to sign a release in case my engine blows up!! (Basically, they could've done whatever they wanted to my car on not held liable, so I didn't sign anything) That escalated pretty quickly, so I told him to forget it and I left. I have been going to this location for basic maintenance (oil changes, plugs, rotations) since 2008. Seems as though management has changed in the last 3 years. I was charged $125 to have their "technician" hook up an OBD and then google the error code, a service you can have done for free down the road at Autozone. Avoid this location. read more

Purchased a groupon for an oil change and tire rotation. I went to the Westerville Rd. location near Columbus,Oh. They tried to sell me tires and an air filter. I agreed to purchase the air filter. After paying for the air filter and being told that the oil change and tire rotation was complete I went to my car and found that the tires had not been rotated as I had been told. (I had marked my front tire). I spoke with the clerk (manager?). He apologised and told me the service tech didn't rotate the tires because I needed new tires and he wished the tech had told him that before he told me they had been rotated. (Hog wash!) I asked for my old air filter back and a refund for the filter and waited for the tires to be rotated. I have 34,000 miles on my vehicle. During service another customer was also waiting. The clerks came out serveral times and told him he needed numerous additional repairs. He said yes to all. poor guy! Makes me wonder if they actually changed the oil. Best to go somewhere else if for no other reason than peace of mind. read more

I would never suggest this location. Took my car in for an oil change and left with my lights not working properly. I brought it to the dealership and they said someone rewired things in the fuse box to cause this issue. Highly suggest not going here unless you want to get taken advantage of. read more

This location is so fantastic. I have been bringing my car here for routine maintenance for a few years now, and they are always so awesome. Once, I took my car to Tire Discounters across from Wright State. The manager was rude and condescending! I couldn't believe that the manager of a customer service place acted as he did! Then another time, I took my car to the Grismer in Huber Heights and described an issue I was having. When I went back, they said it was fixed....but it wasn't. So, ever since, I've been taking my car to this location. Not only did they ACTUALLY fix the issue, but they have NEVER tried to sell me on something I didn't need, they are courteous, and they're fast. Same day, in and out. There was one time where a manufacturers defective part was able to be replaced but they had to get the part from the dealership and they'd have it the next day. Instead of making me find a ride home and then back to the store the next day, they got me a rental car. They paid for it and had someone bring it to the store so I could just drive off in it, go on with my life, and come back the next day. The guys in this store are the epitome of excellent, efficient, friendly customer service. I would ALWAYS recommend not just Grismer, but this location specifically. read more

Horrible all around. We took our car in for transmission service. We dropped it off at 9am in an empty parking lot, told them no big rush but we needed the car the next day. After several phone calls from us they finally called us back at 430, they close at 5, with an estimate, hadn't even touched the car yet. So we rented a car and had them fix it. They called us the next day at 405 to tell us it was done, they close at 4 on saturdays, and told us if we could get there in the next 5 minutes we could pick it up. We get there to pick it up, luckily we live close, and they tell us they haven't had a chance to test it because we didn't have very much gas in the car. They couldn't put 5 bucks in and charge us for it?? Anyways, after humiliating my fiancee asking her repeatedly like a 5 year old kid where she was going directly from the service station, "Now where are you going? The gas station right? Right?" Yes that is a quote, less than a month later we have the same problem. $1700 dollars in the toilet. We took the car to another place and they had to replace the whole transmission, 2500 dollars. We spent 4200 bucks on a 2500 dollar job. Never again. Stay away at all costs. read more

Recently I had a tire that picked up a nail. It caused a slow leak and I could add air & keep moving. I stopped by this shop to see if they could patch the tire. I was told it couldn't be patched and I needed a new tire, and probably should get at least two new tires so I could keep the set matched (my tires are only about 3 months old). Consequently I pumped up the tire, drove about 20 miles to my regular repair shop, and they patched my tire with no problem. Because my regular shop understands what SERVICE means, they will get my business over and over when I need new tires...and you can be assured that GRISMER won't. read more

Took our car there for new brakes and had to take it back 3 times until they finally put a set on that worked properly. A year later they did some engine work and then 2 weeks later the engine blew! Took it back and they refused to do anything about it. What should have been a minor repair totaled the car out because they did it improperly. We contacted the district manager and he sent us a 25% off coupon. Should have learned our lesson with the first experience! read more

I had a free coupon for oil changes since I purchased brand new tires about four months ago from Grismer. In the mean time, I ended up getting a piece of scrap metal wedged between the tread of my driver side rear end tire. It went flat and I needed to get it patched up. Since I spent nearly $2,000 the last time I had services done to my car at Grismer (things that really didn't even need to get done, as I later found out), AND bought brand new tires from them, I figured they would cut me a break and fix it, not to mention the tires had less than 3,000 miles on my tires before one of them got damaged. The manager told me it would cost me $25 to fix. I said that was fine. Anyway, I got the oil changed with my free coupon, 30 minutes later, the manager came out and said I needed a brand new tire because my tire was "ruined." I told him that I JUST bought new tires from them a couple months ago and I insisted that the hole could be fixed because it was far enough from the side of the tire that the hole could be patched up. He shrugged and said there was nothing they could do and the new tire would cost me $150.00, after tax. I kindly declined and I said I would go get a second opinion, and then come back. After telling him this, he seemed extremely annoyed since I didn't purchase the tire he tried to sell me. Since I didn't spend money on my visit there, he rolled his eyes at me as he said, "have a nice day," (probably because I didn't spend any money there and I declined the upsell of the tire). Later that day, I went to another local body shop and was told they could fix it for $15.00. I got that done at the body shop in Centerville, and have no problem now. I understand that Grismer is a business and they are in it to make money, but I don't appreciate being lied to, especially when I spent nearly $2,000 on services last time I was there when I had only anticipated to spend around $500.00. I expected better from them, but since I "look like someone" who doesn't know anything about my car, they feel that they can take advantage of me buy selling me services that I do not even need. Needless to say, I will NEVER be going back there again. read more

Went to Grismer Tire a total of 4 times. The first time was for an oil change which was fine, however, they gave me a long list of things wrong with my car that needed to be fixed right away. Because I assumed they were just trying to take advantage of a young female, I declined. After some time I decided to get some of the bigger issues they suggested done because my car was a little weathered. After I took it in this time, they changed my master cylinder on 10/7/2014. All was fine. The third time I brought my car in because my brakes went completely out and I could no longer drive it. They fixed my brake lines on 1/13/15. After I left the company, my brakes still were not working the way they should be but I let it go. On my fourth (and last) trip, I went in for an oil change and was persuaded to get some more things done. After this trip, I left the company and when I turned my air conditioner on, there is a loud ticking in my car. I immediately took it back to the company and they told me some door wasn't closing like it should after they did their work. So the mechanic just told me to avoid that setting and put it on a different setting and it would be fine. Also, it was still very difficult to come to a complete stop with my brakes. But that is not the issue, after having my brake lines fixed, my dad kept telling me to take it back to have them flushed again but I never had the time. Well, my dad took my car to another mechanic and found that Grismer put the master cylinder plate on backwards (remember I have gone back to Grismer's 2 times after they fixed that) AND put the brake lines inside of the master cylinder plate, its suppose to be on the outside, which was causing the brakes not to work correctly. Men are really nice and seem like they know what they're talking about, but have had nothing but problems with their service and now in debt due to their credit card. I wouldn't recommend going here for anything but an oil change, and even then you can find somewhere cheaper! read more

If I could give a 1/2 star I would. Back in November I had my oil changed and the dip stick broke while Grismers was changing it. So the bottom part of the dip stick was stuck in the tube. When we called about it and finally had to raise a little hell they said they would take care of it. Well I went in to go get my oil changed and told them about it and they said yea we'll fix it. I'll pay for a new dip stick just get the broken stuck one out of there. Well no, they didn't do that and when I told them again that they're the ones who broke it they said it looks like it'll be too hard to get out and that I may need to replace the entire tube now but don't worry, they can do that for you for a fee...Nope. Never going here again. If that's your customer service, you guys don't deserve my money. I'm shocked by the values and ethics of this company. Never again. read more

CROOKS. I will never go here again. I was a 21 year old girl first time I went here. I needed my front head light bulb changed on my car. Grismer actually had the nerve to tell me that he was going to have to order the part from a different city. I told him I would go somewhere else and get the part and compare prices. He quoted me $225 for the front headlight bulb!! He told me to go elsewhere if I enjoyed being ripped off b/c he was the only one in the city who had the bulb for a foreign Japanese car. (I drove a Toyota) I could tell he was lying and thank goodness I trusted my instinct on that one. I went to my dealer they charged me $44. I found out later with age and experience AutoZone would have probably charged me $6 for that light bulb and they would have installed it too. If you are young, and a woman, they will take full advantage of you. All the while calling you sweetheart. I had a friend and she said she ended up spending $1600 for something that should have costed her around $400. Never do business with these crooks unless you are a male who knows a lot about cars and cant be fooled. read more

This place is awful..They gave me the keys to another car when I came to pick mine up. It turns out they had my car mixed up with another car the entire time. When I came to pick up my car 9am (after taking the morning off work) they said it actually wasn't ready. I waited around until 6pm calling occasionally with the constant response of "it'll just be an hour or so more". I was informed when stopping in that my car needed new barrings and spindles. They kept saying they were throwing in the parts and labor of the spindles for free because of the changed pickup time and hassle. When I finally picked my car up at 6:30pm, after trying to give me a different car back..I saw my car sitting there and they said it had been finished the day before.They had just replaced the tires they put on less than a year ago and charged $400. After no apologies at the time for the inconvenience. To make matters worse, part of the reason I came in was to fix a noise it was making that was still not fixed.. I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to get your car fixed.I know I will never go back. read more
