If you haven't tried Grocery Outlet yet, you're out of the culinary loop. I used to go to the (long gone) Buena Park location. I'm thrilled this store opened. Went today for the first time. Picked up a box of high quality organic lemon bars for a fraction of the original price. If you're a good cook with imagination, this is the store for you. There is always something new and different to get a great price on. Many items are near expiration date, so they're cheap cheap cheap. Price, not quality..Talked to the owner a bit. I love this Grocery Outlet! It is always stocked well, sale items are always readily available, their Meat and Grocery section always has great sales, and on top of it if you walk around and look for the pink tags that's where you will find your best deals. I literally just bought a whole case of Coke and two bags of groceries and I only spent $21. But more importantly I come to this one and go out of my way to come to this one because of the employees. Noticed this one driving down imperial . This location was just aiight honestly . They did have a nice deli/cheese /lunch meat selections. I saw a couple things on the shelves that was interested in but Didn't get them because they were super close to their expiration dates (Jan 2020) and I knew I couldn't use them that fast (I'm not a expired food nazi or anything but it depends). They should've been cheaper considering that the way 99 cent store does it . Overall tho I like that GO offers pricier items at a discount rate and some things you loved but stop seeing in big chain stores. read more

There was a advertised price for velveeta at $.97 and all that was preset was Mexican flavored velveeta. It rang up as 3.99 a price check was needed and some young white freckled kid named Alex came up to try to tell me that somebody put them in the wrong spot and the one on sale is all out and I asked if he could honor that price because that's all that was there and he wouldn't-and so I asked for the manager and then turns out it's this young person that is always pretty bad at customer service every time I come in! I really wish there was a no star option. I was so happy when this place opened. However I soon realized why this place was so "affordable" they sell items that are past their expiration date or soon to expire. I purchased some banana cherrios that were stale open opening! I purchased some cheese filled tortellini (dry pasta) and when I cooked them the cheese inside was crumbly and old. So I started to pay attention to their expiration dates and most things are close to expiring or just plain expired. I am not going to risk getting sick just to save a buck. Stopped in to get some ground beef and when I picked up a pack it was covered in ground beef blood underneath ( there was a pool of blood on the meat holder) I go to the restroom it's locked so my wife asks an employee to open it and he asks her "Are you a customer ?" She says yes ! And employee asks her a 2nd time "But are you a customer?" She says "Yes!!! And my husband is standing over there with blood all over his hands from your meat dept" apparently we were both confused for homeless people even though we're both wearing expensive leather jackets and shoes. I felt we were stereotyped by management and they even told us they had a homeless* problem that's why they asked if we were customers* I told manager "So now I look homeless to you ?" I spoke to the owner Pam I believe, and she was No help she said they won't change policy and she was short with me and stated she reported to no corporate office when I asked for Corp. information. All in all we felt deflated shopping there and disgusted with the stereotype! I mean do they pick and choose who to ask "Are you a customer?" based on appearances? They lost a customer today. Omg! So I remember going to this grocery store around the same time last year and I swore I would never come back. The staff seemed unhappy, the place wasn't well kept and everything seemed to be cluttered. Well about a month ago, I had to come in here for something small so I had to walk around to look for it and noticed the place was totally different. Come to find out, the store is under new management and it truly showed! On top of the cleanliness and good deals, I was immediately welcomed by Amanda and some of her staff. This is a smaller location but I came on the first day open. Everyone was very friendly and I was greeted by two people who were very helpful. The cashier gave me a free bag and a handful of chocolate which made my day. Glad to have this new grocery in the neighborhood. read more

The manager/ment is poor! The employees are great though. I lost my job in November and my food budget is tight. I purchased fresh raspberries on 2 different occasions recently, just to find the next day, they were moldy within the container. I took the first ( double pack) back to show the manager, asked for a replacement. I was told that due to the Covid crisis, they could not do that and they needed to be thrown away. They needed to be thrown away regardless, I spent $6.99, they should have been replaced. I went approximately three weeks later and bought a single pack, same problem. I did not open any containers to check them because of the respect, dealing with the coronavirus and people handling food. I phoned the store and was told the same thing. That equals to about $10, That essentially went down the trash. I do not understand why I could not have a replacement, this was not my fault, there may be a problem with refrigeration or shipments. I will not be shopping at this particular store again. I try to support independent store owners, however, my value as a customer must not mean anything! There's another great grocery outlet in La Habra Heights and also in Anaheim within the same proximity. Both stores have earned my business.I highly suggest,if you have the option ,you choose one of the other stores, with great management and customer appreciation. read more

I only shop here as a last resort since I live by Creek Park. Many items here are on the verge of spoiling/expiring. Meats are either leaking fluids or turning brown within their packages. Not to mention the bruised and nat infested produce. Please be weary of shelved items and check the stamped dates. If anything I come here to get cleaning items and paper goods. Employees are often seen pushing large fright carts and do not even seem to care if they are in the way of your shopping. Also note that restrooms are always locked or as they call it "out of order". All in all it is not a pleasant grocery option. I really do wish this was a Trader Joe's. Now that's a clean, FRESH and friendly shopping experience. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect, but more than pleasantly surprised by the shopping experience, the prices, quality and selection. The produce looked fresh and very neat. Store was immaculate and staff was helpful. They had the Clif and Larabars bars that I purchase regularly at Target for half the price. The beer selection was better than Trader Joes at lower prices. It looks like the selection changes quickly so if you see a deal, grab it! They had "limited edition" Cheerio's (really, who knew?) for 99 cents. They are $6.49 on Amazon. Great prices. They have new deals like every week. Picked up some del Monterey beef and bean chimichangas for .77 each, which is regular 2.99. Great products and cheap. Know what you are buying and prepare meals ahead of time and they last awhile and save you money. Very friendly staff and a clean store. Definitely a great alternate to Wal-Mart and stater bros for most of the items. Will go back often. read more

Sorry to say that me and my family like to support our local business especially in the city we live in we purchased a 20 lb bag of puppy food and when we got home noticed that the expiration date was 2 weeks away we tried to return it for a better date and they would not do it the bag wasn't even opened they said that they did not no where the bag had been and could have been contaminated ... well the same goes for their products don't no where they are shipped in from and could also be contaminated .. long story short I will no longer support this establishment... read more

I recently went into the new La Mirada Grocery Outlet this week. I found an extra $10 coupon and wanted to give it a try. I was really surprised with the experience. I was greeted by the cashier immediately as I walked in, the store was bright with LED lights and very clean. At the front they had a bunch of deals that were 50% off. I grabbed a full case of San Pellegrino flavored juices for just $9.99. I was very surprised with the selection in the store. Almost everything was national brands, but much cheaper than my regular store! Same cereals, same chips, sodas all at lower prices. Then I hit the healthy aisle and was amazed. All the stuff I get at my local health food store but so much cheaper. The produce was new and fresh, a great selection of meats and the meats and cheeses were great deals also. They also had craft beer and wine at $1-$2 cheaper than usual. They had lots of different items and one of the managers said that things rotate through every week, so many things except for the basics change almost weekly. I Loved this store until today. I unloaded my cart, said "can i please have bags'' the cashier is a short- dark- haired older lady, she says "paper or plastic?" Paper please was my response. I had an issue and brought it up to the owners of the Grocery Outlet of La Mirada and was ignored another woman had the same problem and was apologized to and they resolved her issue but mine was ignore when I asked why I got blocked the only difference between me and the other woman was the color of our skin! Customer service is very good and the store is so clean! Whether you get 'outlet worthy' savings is a matter of what you choose to purchase. First time in this store and it's worth checking out especially if you have a coupon, but don't kill yourself in the process of trying to qualify. I love Grocery Outlet. The reason they are able to have such low prices is because they sell items that have shorter code dates. If I'm going to use something quickly then that's never and issue. They also sell newer items they are launching in the marketplace, sometimes before they hit the main stream stores. There is also have a nice organic section with good options.
