Gaucho Mercado is a Meat Market that's located inside the Buena Park location of Gaucho Grill, an Argentinian steakhouse. It's literally hidden and it's a gem, but you can find Argentinean pastries with dulce de leche, South American wines, Picanha and Tomahawk steaks, and you can get the same empanadas and chimichurri that they have on the menu at the restaurant. For $4, I bought a strawberry tart that had homemade whipped cream and dulce de leche. It was very nice! I also think that the costs are very reasonable as you could get a tomahawk for under $60, picanha steaks for $10, and empanadas for under $4 if you buy in bulk (but for $4 if you don't). Yes - you have to cook them yourself, but it's worth it if you got some skills and if you want to do things your way! I think that I'll definitely consider coming here for a tomahawk or two! If I don't want to cook, then I'd go next door to the Gaucho Grill! read more

The food was very delicious. Empanadas very yummy and the eight crunch. Had a birthday lunch here and it was very nice. Great service by Claudia. The delivery of each plate was perfectly timed. We tried the swekered filet mignon and it was quite tender. The rice and salad were the right complement to the skewers. Our server was friendly and patient. Often checking in on us and our needs. One the best Argentina foods we had in Socal. We tried their half parrillada for $75 shared by two people. It consists of all their specialty meats. It was delicious. After the third time our waitress came back to our table letting us know that the kitchen let her know that the third item they did not have the ingredients to make what we ordered ruined the experience especially being our first time eating at a gaucho grill. I understand that the truck order did not arrive but then the manager should have morning team huddles letting staff know what is 86'd so guests do not have to keep changing their order until one of them has the ingredients. Asked for well done steak, came out cold. They put my steak back on the grill, surprised they can do that due to health code, came out hot but not well done. Wasted most of a $40.00 steak could not eat blood. Here is a thought. Bump up your food par 15% so when this happens, which the waitress makes it sound like happens every Monday, you can still offer the majority of your menu items. I recommend bumping up par for fried calamari, parpadelle pasta, cheese bread which were a few items that we tried to order. read more

The empanadas were cold in the middle and they tasted off, the chimichurri portions are tiny yet they still charge for them, it takes a while for someone to help you and notice you, and it's on the pricier side. I'm not Argentinian, but they don't have as wide of a variety of Argentinian products as I was expecting. The alfajores didn't have too much flavor yet her sickeningly sweet. This is probably one of the most beautiful restaurants and I love that they have a little Mercado in their restaurant. Food is incredibly delicious, especially if you're craving a nice juicy piece of steak or any kind of meat. We tried their tomahawk steak it was grilled to perfection so juicy and delicious. We also their Parillada New York State chorizo skirt, steak, short ribs I mean, it was incredibly flavorful and delicious and everything was just cooked to perfection. We also tried empanadas. We got the ham and cheese, the beef and the spinach and cheese. The beef was my favorite and I love how filled they are. mushrooms, potatoes, their corn pudding, and their side salad all extremely delicious. I was extremely obsessed with the corn pudding because it literally tasted like a corn tamale husk. We tried lamb and chorizo meatballs so good probably the only way I want meatballs and their Marisco appetizer. we really enjoyed our date night here the food was just delicious and the cocktails are extremely flavorful. I'm giving this place 1 star because the food was very good. I wish I could give them 5, but a recent visit upset me so that I don't know if I can go back. On 6/14, I had lunch with co-workers at Gaucho Grill. My co-worker paid. I noticed they had a store, so I went over and purchased a bottle of their wonderful chimichuri. It cost $11.95. Why was there an additional charge of $474 on my card? I went back to the store and the manager said they would take care of it in 4-7 days. The thing that upsets me the most is, there was no apology, nothing. An apology would have spoken volumes, but I didn't get it, so I'll take my money elsewhere. Please make sure to check your credit card accounts after visiting this place. Word to the wise. read more

Great local eatery! Have been here a few times for happy hour and tonight, Cristina and David provided us with excellent service! The bread and chimichurri sauces are amazing. Gaucho has been our go to dining in restaurant for several years now. However, the service/quality of food has gone down since they first opened. I had reservations here at 7:15pm and didn't get seated until 8:00pm. We are regulars and knew what plate we wanted so we put in our order right away along with our drink with our server. We got our drink within 10 minutes. 9:00pm came and no food has been brought out. At this point, I was already disappointed on the long waiting time. Servers looked stressed out running around. Several tables were also waiting for their food and unattended. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or whatever the case was. This is the second time I come for a tomahawk steak and they were out of stock once again. Mind you, I am driving one hour to visit Gaucho as I reside in Riverside.
