The employees here are robotic with no personality. Every time I shop here the cashiers rush you through to pay, every time. I see elderly people shop here and the way they are rushed through in the cashier line is so inconsiderate and sad. They carry essentials I use like peanut powder and Aldi has the best prices on avocados but their customer service is lacking. Employees here always seem annoyed and are not welcoming at all. Don't worry.... you'll be able to get your quarter back at the end of your shopping trip. Simply return your shopping cart back to where you found it! Snap it back in and the quarter will come right out! Check the weekly ad to check out the deals for the week! The grocery store offers mostly Generic brands.. very few name brands. If you are okay with generic brands... this is the perfect store! Bring your own shopping bags! The cashier scans each items and places it back into your shopping cart. They sell plastic bags for 10 cents if you forgot your bag. They also sell reusable bags too!! How do they maintain such low prices? It's kinda funny, pre-pandemic I never bothered shopping at Aldi, despite the fact that it's one of the closest stores to me. During the pandemic that changed because I was able to get deliveries without and issue and it was rare that they didn't have what I needed in stock. Their amazing pricing and great quality also got me hooked and now I seek out Aldi's when I need to but groceries, even if I'm not in my usual area. I love shopping at this location specifically because it's one of the cleanest and the employees are always helpful and kind. I have noticed that in recent months certain items haven't been available and some of the shelves look a little bare, but it's that way at almost all of their locations right now. Hopefully that improves, but in the meantime, I'll keep buying what I can at Aldi. read more

What has happened to this location? Recently, the store was reorganized...and it is harder to find items. They have moved produce and prepared food items to the front door, which creates a roadblock upon entry. The store is dirty and and the shelves are a mess. The checkout lines are long and isles are blocked when employees are restocking. We most happy the quality of the Aldi dairy, chips, cheese and some vegetables and fruits. Our most recent trip, they were out of butter, half-n-half or heavy cream...and we never found the pasta. Almost $5 for a dozen eggs! We'll check out other Aldi locations, and if they are the same...we'll be shopping elsewhere. read more

Odd store which slightly reminded me of a cross between Fresh and Easy and the Dollar Tree. We had a couple cool finds (knock off Atkin bars), Cauliflower pizza, and Keto ice cream. We were laughing at some of the knock off brand names for cereal and other items, as well as random non food items like a water slide (think slip and slide).... Not sure why they had a random section that didn't relate to anything else in the store... that was non food related. I have a hard time believing their business model will last a long time since the prices didn't seem very low and the selection was random but maybe it was just this location. read more

I like doing my basic food shopping here. Plenty of parking available in the lot in front. I appreciate that the quantity is NOT supersized. They do carry some brand names , but mostly it seems they have their own brand which are very similar to the name brand. I've tried the corned beef hash in a can and canned luncheon meat( spam ) which I keep as staples in my pantry. Their fruit and veggie section is pretty good. They have mostly all the basics you'd need. Check out their cheese varieties! Great prices on sliced cheese. They carry an assortment of fancy cheese too. Best deal is when they have chicken thighs or drumsticks family pack for $. 99 p/lbs! You can can 12 pieces for under$4.50ish . If you like to have some inexpensive wine at home, they carry a lot. I'm not a wine expert , but I do enjoy a light fruity wine sometimes. Not Robert Parker quality, but definitely affordable. Also, they carry seltzer too , which I heard was popular these days. Shopping here is like doing a little retail shopping too. Every week there are feature specials.I've found some things now and then that I'll get. Good deal on eggs and milk. Bring your own shopping bags. You pack your own groceries after you make your purchases. If you forget, you can always buy the bags you need. Lastly, have quarter($.25) at hand. The selection of choices is limited but the prices seem to be reasonable on common weekly products. They even offer meats, wines and produce. Bad Bad Bad Meats* My wife insists in buying only dry goods and drinks here, but I always go check out the Meat section for a reason !! Since this place opened I have informed the young managers that I keep finding bacon,ham,deli meats & meats that are discolored and turning rancid !!! After giving this Aldi a few more chances, I must say they have come a long way. I think they got rid of that unfriendly cashier Mark because I haven't seen him. Now let me say that Aldi products are so underrated! Everything I have bought on a whim we have loved! Yes some things are "knock offs" of other brands but if you were to try them in a blind taste test you couldn't tell the difference! Aldi is a great place to pickup some groceries if you know what you're looking for. They have great prices on quality bread, milk, baking ingredients, cheese, wine, spices, deli ingredients, and German beer. In addition they have some really cool German/European foods and sweets that are hard to find elsewhere. Their meats are decent. Their fruit and vegetables could be a little but better quality but if you look around there are some gems for good prices. The location is well organized and clean. Initially I didn't care too much for Aldi as it seemed to be just a bunch of knockoffs but Aldi has really grown on me. Like I said, you just have to know what you're looking for. read more

My all time favorite store. Its right up the street from me, and it has basically all my groceries for my vegan diet. They have good bread thats dairy free, I like the " Nice to Wheat you" one. Almond milk only $2.99, the fruit and veggies are unbeatable prices. I refuse to buy it from anywhere else. I'd check out this store, if you havent already! It's also a smaller set up, so the time you spend in there is a nice quick trip, just grab what ya need and go. You wont need to wonder across a whole Wal-Mart sized store. I have heard so much about the Aldi type but never once visited it until this new location opened up just at the beginning of this month. It was one half of the previous living space of the Friendly Hills bowling alley and happily, kept some of the aesthetics of the old, B-52s era typography and vibe. Would Aldi be all that I wished for or just another trend waiting to fade out in a few months? Exterior/Interior - 3 stars The exterior as I mentioned previously is beautiful, with crystal clear windows on the outside and brand new shopping carts awaiting outside. At Aldi, you have to use a quarter to release the lock from the shopping cart to use it. There are no hand baskets here. I didn't bring a quarter but knowing most people are just first finding out of Aldi there was an attendant near who lent me a quarter to use a shopping cart. I just had to return the quarter back when I finished. So if you're coming here remember to bring a quarter for the shopping carts. You get it back at the end. Going inside and you'll realize it's smaller than what you thought it would be from the outside. There is no deli or butchery section like you'd find in a typical supermarket. Instead, they do have those items in cooled areas like you'd find any other market. There are really only about 6 wide aisles and that's about it. Food/Item Selection - 4 stars Aldi has really low prices because almost all of their food products are no name brands. You will see a few name brands like Ghiriardelli but otherwise you'll see products that came from Europe, which isn't a bad thing at all! Being able to find Irish cheese from Ireland or chocolates from Germany is pretty fantastic. You're able to sample a more worldly selection of flavors and that's always a great find locally. And though they do miss certain items that have become staples in other supermarkets (ground turkey, sourdough bread bowls, Brussels sprouts, etc.) they still have a great selection of food. Price - 4 stars The pricing is fantastic. I generally found most items, including things like Naked juice and imported cheeses to stay under the $4 mark. You can totally stock up for a charcuterie plate at your next gala for under $30. On top of that Aldi seems to always have coupons for $10 if you spend over $40. It that doesn't give you a dangerously friendly nudge to buy more I don't know what will. Conclusion Ultimately, Aldi doesn't have every convenience that a supermarket has (free bags for your groceries, more diverse selection of breads and meats) but it does have a forward thinking approach to how you shop and will probably help change your mind on the non-importance of brand names for quality items. Aldi Grocery, I was there on the opening night, upon walking in the front entrance we were greeted and given a complimentary reuable grocery bag. Nice touch! This was my first time an Aldi Grocery store. It's more like a small boutique grocery story, not a mega stores like we are used to around here. I was impressed by the system they have in place and used here. They have you insert a quarter to use a shopping cart, at the end of your shopping you will get the quarter back. They are open from 9AM-9PM, I was told this saves the store money They have the essentials such as dozen package of eggs for .69 with a limit of 6 packages.( this was a grand opening special). Orange juice, milk, bread and fruits, vegetables and other must have in the refrigerator items. They don't have major well known brands and if you are loyal to some of those brands you're not going to find them here, you find other brands at a lower price. They have new brands at lower prices, If you are up to trying new brands at lower price to stocked up your pantry try Aldi Groceries store They have a selection of spirits wine and beer They don't bag your groceries to bag your own groceries- think of the savings They are located between Chase Bank and Bevmo with plenty of parking to choose from on Whittier Blvd and Santa Gertrudes. I have tried shopping there several times based on people who love Aldis. EVERY time I leave frustrated because I can't complete my shopping there. Meat and produce selection is poor, often the fresh produce is spoiled, or spoils very quickly after taking home. Last visit there were LIVE (kicking bugs in the 4 lb bag of pinto beans I bought and the almond milk was rotten - HOW? First for everything). Aldi lies somewhere in between a 99cent store and Walmart. Better than a 99 cent store, but worse than Walmart. That's how I honestly rank it, and I won't be back. Walmart is the lowest I'd like to go. But to be fair, I bought a 99 cent pack of tortilla and it was good. I also bought some pocky crackers for a dollar and they were good too, good prices on the items and they were okay, but still everything is weird brand and I wouldn't buy most of it. I can tell the eggs are low quality and stuff. So yea, I'd only buy a snack here, not food. read more

This place is okay. Product selection is limited. They have a brand called Benson's that they use. There's a lot of off brands here but it's the exact same junk ingredients. They have some organic options, not much, very expensive. Weekly special of 4 lbs grass fed beef $17.98. I don't want 4 lbs but they don't leave me any other option. The "pet" section is so small, it sucks. Nothing but junk brands there too and canned food. 98 cents for a bottle of Jarritos soda. I bought this 99 cents at northgate. I don't get the low ratings for this place! My brother-in-law tried getting me to come here for the longest time, and I (like many others probably) looked down on the generic food inventory. Man, I'm glad I listened to him! They have a great beer and wine selection, and it's easy on the wallet too. Everything I've tried from here is as good or better than the name brand it's imitating. That being said, this is not the kind of place you come with an extensive grocery list. The items shift, and it doesn't have everything you would find in a big grocery store brand; however, there are some GREAT deals to be found here. My sister is lactose-intolerant and buys Lactaid for nearly double what Aldi sells their lactose-free milk for. Another favorite is the Mama Cozzi's take home pizzas. You're basically paying around $6 for a large pizza that's baked fresh at home in about 12-15 min. The one thing I've tried that I did not enjoy was the ice cream. It tasted lower quality than usual (almost like ice milk). Everything else in the store has been great so far, including the meat that provided some delicious cheeseburgers for my family camping trip last summer. The previous year, I spent upwards of $250 buying groceries for that summer camping trip. I spent around $150 at Aldi the following year (including beer). I even found toilet paper and paper towels during the apocalypse. I've been a few times during the apocalypse, and they were limiting how many people could shop in the store the first time. Employees were sanitizing the carts and wearing masks the second and third time I stopped by. They also installed plexiglass shields at the registers for their employee and customer protection. I'm not sure if he's still there, but one of their employees (I think his name is Jonas or Jonah) is super friendly and always starts a conversation at the register. I absolutely love this market. I've been shopping here since they opened. I find most of my groceries here and I like to try out different items, which they will carry. If you're lucky to get there early, you can certainly get great deals on their Aldi Finds. Mark is one of my favorite cashiers--always friendly, helpful and fast. Keep up the great work. read more

Store was very clean but of course it's new. Deals were good. I got a dozen eggs for 59 cents! That was crazy! Cheeses were very reasonable. Food was fresh. Staff was friendly. Holiday deals were phenomenal! Got all my stocking stuffers! Downside was you can clearly see through the gap in the bathroom door. Hung my purse and hoped no one walked in. Also you can't bag your groceries at the check out stand. They move your purchases from your cart to a new cart and send you to the shelf! What if you have a full cart??? Hmmmm. Carts are locked with quarter releases to make sure you walk back to the cart area and return your cart for the quarter back. This store is good for a few things but not the entire horse as they say. 4 stars for prices and cleanliness, but have to deduct for bagging inconvenience and bathroom privacy issue.
